What if creating a culture of ownership had nothing to do with your organisation and everything to do with you? In this episode of Sticky From The Inside, Andy Goram is joined by Greg Hawks to challenge one of the biggest assumptions in workplace culture today, that ownership is something leaders create and employees receive. Greg flips that thinking on its head. This conversation explores why ownership isn't a corporate initiative, a leadership tactic, or something written into a job description. It's a personal choice. One that shapes how we respond to challenges, how we engage with others, and ultimately, how fulfilling our work feels. Together, Andy and Greg unpack: Why disengagement often comes from a “done to me” mindset The difference between owners, renters, and vandals in organisations Why most companies are trying to fix the wrong problem How language, trust, and mindset shape our daily experience at work What it really takes to create a culture where people care, contribute, and step up If you've ever felt frustrated, disengaged, or like work is something that happens to you, this episode offers a powerful reframe. Because creating a culture of ownership doesn't start with leadership. It starts with a choice. ----more---- Key Takeaways Ownership starts with personal choice. Ownership is not given by organisations, it's a decision individuals make to regain control, perspective and fulfilment. Culture is shaped by everyday behaviour. A culture of ownership emerges from consistent individual choices to care, contribute and take responsibility. Not all disengagement is equal. Owners, renters and vandals influence culture differently, and unchecked vandals can actively undermine engagement. Leaders create the conditions for ownership. Ownership grows when people experience meaningful return, hear specific recognition, and see clear behavioural standards upheld. ----more---- Key Moments The key moments in this episode are: 00:01:11 – Should Employees Really Care Like Owners? 00:02:56 – Setting the Stage: What Drives Ownership at Work? 00:06:05 – Ownership Isn't for the Company—It's for You 00:08:04 – Breaking Free from the “Done To Me” Mindset 00:12:22 – What a True Culture of Ownership Actually Feels Like 00:14:49 – Unlock #1: Why Risking Bold Commitments Changes Everything 00:17:16 – Owners, Renters and Vandals: The Mindsets That Shape Culture 00:20:16 – Why Most Organisations Are Fixing the Wrong Problem 00:22:30 – Unlock #2: Activating Lasting Value Through Words 00:27:30 – From Mindset to Behaviour: Ownership, Trust and Personal Return 00:39:30 – Designing the Conditions for a Culture of Ownership 00:44:35 – Sticky Notes: Three Truths About Ownership and Fulfilment ----more---- Join The Conversation Find Andy Goram on LinkedIn here Listen to the Podcast on YouTube here Follow the Podcast on Instagram here Follow the Podcast on Twitter here Follow the Podcast on Facebook here Check out the Bizjuicer website here Get a free consultation with Andy here Check out the Bizjuicer blog here Download the podcast here ----more---- Useful Links Follow Greg Hawks on LinkedIn here Find Greg's website here Find the book Act Like An Owner here ----more---- Full Episode Transcript Get the full transcript of the episode here

A lot of health and fitness choices get harder when every workout, meal, or missed day starts carrying too much emotional meaning. That pressure can create procrastination, guilt, and the feeling of always having to prove something. A steadier mindset lets each choice matter without turning it into a verdict. That shift can make the whole journey feel lighter, calmer, and easier to keep. We trace Revelation 14:6–13 through the three angel messages, moving from the eternal gospel to Babylon's fall to the sobering warning about the beast and God's full-strength wrath. We end with the call to endurance and the promise of rest for those who die in the Lord, then leave the question hanging about worship, allegiance, and eternity. • the first angel's eternal gospel as a public call to fear God and worship the Creator • the gospel offered to every people group as evidence of God's open invitation • Babylon the Great's certain collapse as the downfall of a corrupt spiritual system • the third angel's warning about worshiping the beast and receiving the mark • the image of undiluted wine as God's intense judgment • Jesus as both gracious Savior and righteous Judge • annihilationism defined and weighed against Revelation 14:11 • why sin is ultimately against a holy and infinite God • endurance of the saints as obedience and faith in Jesus • blessedness for those who die in the Lord as rest and lasting reward Choose wisely my friends because your eternity hangs in the balanceSupport the show

In October 1998, Sione Havili's future looked incredibly bright. Earlier that year, he had signed a letter of intent to play football at BYU and was preparing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York City. But in a single moment, everything changed. A decision to take part in an act of retaliation tied to gang violence would alter the course of Sione's life forever. What if Catherine of Aragon had agreed to an annulment in 1527?Today we explore a Tudor what-if with enormous consequences. If Catherine had stepped aside quietly, Henry VIII might never have broken with Rome, Anne Boleyn might have had time to secure her position, Mary Tudor's future could have been settled early, and England might have remained a far quieter place.A meditation on how one refusal, rooted in conscience, reshaped a kingdom.Check out the Vday collection: https://tudorfair.com/collections/valentines-day-2026 Hosted on Acast. Sometimes the adventure does not arrive as a bold leap. Sometimes it begins in a quiet moment when we realize we can choose again. In this short preview conversation, I sit down with Tara Wear, an experienced coach and leader who has spent more than 30 years supporting individuals and teams in becoming their best selves. We first connected through the TEDx Spokane community, where Tara supported me as I prepared my upcoming talk, and this conversation opened up so much wisdom. We talk about burnout, leadership, intention, and self-awareness, especially during seasons like the holidays or the transition into a new year. Tara reminds us that intention is not something we set once and forget. Every moment offers a choice, and every choice creates a new way forward. This episode is a short teaser and preview of our full conversation, which will be released in the coming days. In the full episode, we go deeper into Tara's coaching work with women, her shift toward burnout recovery and thriving, and even a word she uses that surprised me and may surprise you, too.Tara also shares about her upcoming Women's Winter Book Club focused on self-compassion and burnout recovery, where women will read, reflect, and practice together in a small group setting.A reflection to tryNotice one moment today where you feel rushed, overwhelmed, or self-critical. If you've ever entered a new year full of ideas, plans, and ambition, only to feel overwhelmed before February, this episode is your reset. In this encore, I'm sharing the simplest, most powerful income tool I've ever used: your Money Word of the Year. I walk you through how to choose a Money Word that actually does something for you. One that upgrades your standards, exposes what you're done tolerating, and supports you in making cleaner, more confident decisions all year long. This is how high-earning women create momentum without burning themselves out. If you want a year that feels grounded, profitable, and aligned with the woman you're becoming, this conversation will give you the start you're looking for. In this episode, I talk about: Why high-income women don't rely on planners to grow their income. What a Money Word of the Year really is, and why it works as a financial tool. How one word becomes a decision filter for pricing, offers, time, and money. Why choosing multiple words creates confusion instead of clarity. Why committing to one word for a full year accelerates identity-level change. ~~ For full show notes, transcript, and to check out Kendall's Money Word of the Year freebie, click here: www.themoneycoachschoolpodcast.com/119

In this video, I'm sharing an early look at the ideas from my new book coming out in 2026—work that is very close to my heart. I've spent the last several years asking one big question: How do we give ourselves the best possible chance of becoming the healthy, joyful, connected 90-year-old we hope to be? Why is it that some people are able to stay committed to a plan… while others struggle, even when they truly want to feel better? If you're someone who has a hard time staying consistent, please know this book—and this conversation—is especially for you. I break our well-being into eight important buckets: Hormone Optimization, Nutrition, Movement, Body Composition, Sleep, Emotional Wellness, Relational Wellness & Intimacy, and Fun & Joy. These are the areas that shape how we age, how we feel day to day, and how we show up in our relationships. In today's video, I walk you through each of these buckets and share why tuning into what you already know is good for you can become the motivation that carries you forward. With small, intentional choices, we can begin shaping the elder version of ourselves—one step, one day, one decision at a time. I've also included a PDF of the “Best Elder Day” wheel if you'd like to reflect on where you are now and where you'd love to go. LINK - https://bit.ly/3MpwfJX My hope is simple: that this gives you clarity, encouragement, and a gentle path toward becoming the elder you dream of being.

The book of Ruth may be only four short chapters, but it carries one of the most powerful and hope-filled stories in the entire Bible. Set during the dark and chaotic era of the Judges, Ruth's story begins with famine, loss, and bitterness—but it ends with redemption, joy, and the promise of a King. In this sermon, we journey through the entire book of Ruth. We begin with Naomi, a grieving widow who believes her life has been emptied by God. We meet Ruth, a foreigner from Moab, who makes a radical decision of faith: to leave her homeland, her family, and her gods behind to follow Naomi and worship the God of Israel. Her words—“Your people will be my people, and your God my God”—become a defining moment of loyalty and trust. What follows is a story of divine providence woven through ordinary events. Ruth “just happens” to glean in the field of Boaz, a man of noble character and a relative of Naomi's late husband. In Boaz, we see both kindness and strength as he steps into the role of kinsman-redeemer, protecting Ruth and securing a future for Naomi's family. What looks like chance is really God's careful orchestration. This lesson reminds us that no life is too small, no decision too ordinary, and no circumstance too bleak for God to use in His redemptive plan. The book of Ruth teaches us that behind every step of obedience, every act of loyalty, and every risk of faith lies the possibility of God writing a much bigger story than we could ever imagine. If you've ever wondered how God can work through your everyday struggles, disappointments, and choices, this story is for you. Ruth's journey shows us that God's providence is at work in famine and in fullness, in tragedy and in joy, and that He is still weaving our ordinary lives into His extraordinary plan of redemption.

Today, we're joined by Justin (8w7) and Trisha Davis (3w2), a couple whose story holds both heartbreak and a hard-won hope. We talk honestly about the Eight–Three dance in marriage—intensity, drive, image, and protection—and how those same strengths can be magic when we're healthy and toxic when we're not. We also dive into their new book, One Choice Away from Change: Break the Cycles that Hurt Your Relationships and Hold You Back. They remind us that real transformation isn't about muscling through—it's about naming the wound, choosing presence over performance, and practicing honest vulnerability. Justin shares how confusing help with weakness fueled secrecy and performance—and how grief became a doorway to healing. Trisha reflects on the Three's chameleon move, learning to show up without over-achieving, and a wise reframing of the Enneagram as “not a weapon and not an excuse.” Together, they walk us through surviving an affair, pastoring through COVID, late-in-life family revelations, and the truth that forgiveness is not a one-and-done event. Their North Star: when they're healthy, they're magic; when they're not, they're toxic—and daily choices make the difference. If you've tried to achieve your way out of pain or sprinted past grief because it felt inefficient, this conversation will meet you in the messy middle. We explore relief vs. recovery, acting our way into new feelings, and why you can't heal a wound you won't name. It's tender, practical, and full of hope. I hope you'll tune in. About our guests Justin and Trisha Davis are pastors, authors, speakers, and the founders of RefineUs Ministries. They're not perfect. They're not interested in pretending. They are passionate about helping others experience real healing and deeper connection. Together, they co-authored Beyond Ordinary: When a Good Marriage Just Isn't Good Enough, and Justin's book Being Real > Being Perfect: How Transparency Leads to Transformation is a USA Today bestseller. Justin and Trisha have been married for 30 years, have five kids and live in Indianapolis. We all long for relationships that are life-giving and joyful—but too often, they leave us feeling stuck, frustrated, or even broken. If you’ve ever wondered why do I keep repeating the same patterns? Or, how can I finally move forward in freedom?—you are not alone. This week on The Love Offering podcast, I had the incredible privilege of sitting down with Justin and Trisha Davis, authors of One Choice Away: A Journey to Break Free from Fear, Shame, and Dysfunction. In this honest and hope-filled conversation, we talk about how to identify and overcome the behaviors and thought patterns that sabotage our relationships and steal our joy. Drawing from their powerful story of healing and redemption, Justin and Trisha offer practical encouragement to help us: Understand the deeper reasons behind the choices we make Stop letting the past dictate the present Break free from our go-to sins and dysfunctions Walk confidently in the identity and hope God has for us Each chapter of their book ends with Cycle-Breaking Prayers—honest, heartfelt invitations to surrender our past and step into the freedom of God’s grace. Because the truth is: you’re not as stuck as you think you are. You're just one choice away from healing, growth, and renewed relationships. Whether you’re facing challenges in your marriage, friendships, family, or even your work life—this message will meet you right where you are. Let this be the day you make the choice to trust God with your heart, your healing, and your hope. Genesis 2:5-9 ESV 5 When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, 6 and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground— 7 then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
