Massive Growth of QUEST Protein Chips Making Doritos Nervous? | Simply Good Foods Q2 2025 Update

Quest Chips are getting called up to the Big League…and that should make established players like Doritos nervous! In this latest episode, I'll utilize the Q2 2025 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 4/9/2025 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In fiscal Q2 2025, Atkins Nutritionals brand dragged down the overall portfolio performance, as Quest Nutrition beat categorical competitors in tracked channel retail takeaway (up 13% YoY). What's at the heart of the Quest Nutrition success? Quest Nutrition is still known for the original Quest Bar. And that means the company needs the bar business to be healthy for any of this innovation risk to make sense. But Quest Nutrition has proven it's one of the few brands that can successfully extend across multiple product forms...and its customer base expects them to come into an indulgent snacking category and flip it into great tasting (high protein, low sugar) offerings. The snacks segment of Quest Nutrition, which now accounts for half of all retail sales...and if we analyze one layer deeper, the salty side of the Quest snacks segment had quarterly retail takeaway growth of about 45%. The Quest Nutrition salty snacks platform now represents about 35% of the total Quest Nutrition net sales and provide a substantial share of new users to the brand. And I've been a broken record when it comes to stating that salty snacks are where the excitement (and focus) should be placed within Quest Nutrition, as the platform generates over $300 million in retail sales. And while that's super impressive…I believe there's a realistic path to doubling retail sales over the near-term. How? The single most important piece of this strategic growth playbook will revolve around expanding physical availability of the Quest salty snacks platform. So, utilizing its “categorical leadership” for leverage, Quest Nutrition has made “increasing the physical availability” of products a significant initiative within the organization…and recently landed a Quest chips mainline snacking aisle test within a large mass retailer. And if proven successful, I believe it would create a massive “snowball effect” that leads to increased display support, merchandising everywhere, and even new sales channel penetration. Also, I run through what's causing the weak brand performance at Atkins and explain actions the company is taking to change it…especially against the backdrop of GLP-1 weight loss solutions. In my opinion, you're going to see weight management brands like Atkins (and others) get repositioned on the right side of GLP-1 second-order effects through both product innovation (e.g. Atkins strong)...but most of the “innovation” will come in the targeted communication marketing strategies. Finally, OWYN had quarterly retail takeaway growth of 52% YoY...coming from a balance of distribution gains and velocity growth. Moreover, OWYN has significantly accelerated performance across all major sales channels (including ecommerce) and all key retail customers.

Quest Nutrition might possess much more revenue diversification compared to when it was acquired more than five years ago, but that doesn't mean the Quest Bar has become any less of an important piece of the brand's multibillion-dollar growth puzzle today. In this latest episode, I'll utilize the Q1 2025 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 1/8/2025 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In fiscal Q1 2025, Atkins Nutritionals brand dragged down the overall portfolio performance, as Quest Nutrition beat categorical competitors in tracked channel retail takeaway (up 10% YoY). What's at the heart of the Quest Nutrition success? Quest Nutrition is still known for the original Quest Bar. And that means the company needs the bar business to be healthy for any of this innovation risk to make sense. But while Quest bar has positive growth, recent performance is lagging internal expectations a new protein bar innovation should launch in February called Quest Overload. Additionally, Quest Nutrition has proven it's one of the few brands that can successfully extend across multiple product forms...and its customer base expects them to come into an indulgent snacking category and flip it into great tasting (high protein, low sugar) offerings. The snacks segment of Quest Nutrition, which now accounts for almost half of all retail sales, saw retail takeaway growth increase 19%. But if we analyze one layer deeper…the salty side of the Quest snacks segment had quarterly retail takeaway growth of about 26%. Quest chips now represent about 25% of the total Quest Nutrition revenue and provide a substantial share of new users to the brand. And I've been a broken record when it comes to stating that salty snacks are where the excitement (and focus) should be placed within Quest Nutrition, but it's important to remember that any of this innovation risk only makes sense if the bar business continues to be healthy. So, while it was a higher proportion in 2019…the bar segment still accounts for about half of the total Quest Nutrition revenue. And that's why Quest Nutrition hasn't shied away from innovation (or renovation) activities over the recent years…from enrobed variants, mini sizes, revamping formulations, and now launching the “overload” bar platform. Finally, OWYN had quarterly retail takeaway growth of 67% YoY. Based on revenue growth models, Simply Good Foods leadership expects OWYN fiscal 2025 net sales to be in the $135 million to $145 million range. Didn't the famous philosopher Christopher Wallace (aka The Notorious B.I.G.) once say, “More Protein Chips…More Supply Problems?” Well…even if he didn't say that, it has been a notorious problem for the Simply Good Foods leadership team that seems to be on repeat again. In this latest episode, I'll utilize the Q4 2024 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 10/24/2024 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In fiscal Q4 2024, Atkins Nutritionals brand dragged down the overall portfolio performance, as Quest Nutrition beat categorical competitors in tracked channel retail takeaway (up 8.8% YoY). The snacks segment of Quest Nutrition, which now accounts for almost half of all retail sales, saw retail takeaway growth increase 17%. But if we analyze one layer deeper…the salty side of the Quest snacks segment had quarterly retail takeaway growth of about 34%. Quest chips now represent about 25% of the total Quest Nutrition revenue and provide a substantial share of new users to the brand. I've been a broken record when it comes to stating that salty snacks are where the excitement (and focus) should be placed within Quest Nutrition. The size of the total addressable salty snacks market suggests significant and continued upside on this business. Yet, the biggest challenge for Simply Good Foods over the last few years has been overcoming Quest chips supply constraints. And solving for this long-term will be extremely important as Quest Nutrition will bring its larger pack size nationwide at Costco next calendar year. Finally, even though even if only about 81% of days were officially included, OWYN had quarterly retail takeaway growth of 112% YoY. Based on revenue growth models, Simply Good Foods leadership expects OWYN fiscal 2025 net sales to be in the $135 million to $145 million range. With OWYN in the mix, will Simply Good Foods need to make some tough decisions soon, as it now needs to spread resources and budget dollars across three portfolio brands? In this latest episode, I'll utilize the Q3 2024 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 6/27/2024 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In fiscal Q3 2024, Atkins Nutritionals brand dragged down portfolio performance, as Quest Nutrition beat categorical competitors in tracked channel retail takeaway (at 13.5% YoY growth). What's at the heart of the Quest Nutrition success? Quest Nutrition is still known for the original Quest Bar. That means the company needs the bar business to be healthy for any of this innovation risk to make sense. Here's the good news…the core bar business is growing. In fact, this year it had tracked channel retail takeaway growth of 2%. Additionally, Quest Nutrition has proven it's one of the few brands that can successfully extend across multiple product forms...and its customer base expects them to come into an indulgent snacking category and flip it into great tasting (high protein, low sugar) offerings. The snacks segment of Quest Nutrition, which now accounts for almost half of all retail sales, saw retail takeaway growth increase 27%. But if we take this one layer deeper…the salty side of the Quest snacks segment had quarterly retail takeaway growth of about 50%. We will see how the crackers perform over time, but I'd like them to tackle categories like pretzels or trail mix next. In the meantime, Quest Nutrition has signaled it will focus on a multifaceted acceleration plan that includes growth levers like new Quest Chip flavors, pack types, and channel expansion. Also, I run through what's causing the weak brand performance at Atkins Nutritionals and explain actions the company is taking to change it…especially against the backdrop of GLP-1 weight loss solutions. In my opinion, you're going to see weight management brands like Atkins (and others) get repositioned on the right side of GLP-1 second-order effects through both product innovation (e.g. Atkins strong)...but most of the “innovation” will come in the targeted communication marketing strategies. Finally, even though it didn't officially count in this quarter's Simply Good Foods results, OWYN had quarterly retail takeaway growth of 117.5% YoY. If the OWYN acquisition happened at the beginning of fiscal Q3, Simply Good Foods total retail takeaway growth in measured and unmeasured channels would have been bumped up several percentage points each. Basically with what Quest Nutrition has been able to accomplish, competitors believe "it's basically cheating" at this point. In this latest episode, I'll utilize the Q2 2024 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 4/4/2024 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In fiscal Q2 2024, both Atkins Nutritionals (aka the Atkins diet) and Quest Nutrition performed well against the categorical competitors in tracked channel retail takeaway, with Quest Nutrition specifically having strong YoY growth at 13.1%. What's at the heart of the Quest Nutrition success? Quest Nutrition is still known for the original Quest Bar. That means the company needs the bar business to be healthy for any of this innovation risk to make sense. Here's the good news…the core bar business is growing. In fact, this year it had tracked channel retail takeaway growth of 6%. Additionally, Quest Nutrition has proven it's one of the few brands that can successfully extend across multiple product forms...and its customer base expects them to come into an indulgent snacking category and flip it into great tasting (high protein, low sugar) offerings. The snacks segment of Quest Nutrition, which now accounts for almost half of all retail sales, saw retail takeaway growth increase 21%. But if we take this one layer deeper…the salty side of the Quest snacks segment had quarterly retail takeaway growth of about 40%. Quest chips now make up just over 20% of the total Quest Nutrition revenue and provides around 30% of new users to the brand. Salty snacks are where I'd argue the most excitement lies, but it seems the brand believes (at least right now) there's more low-hanging fruit within sweet snacks. I say that because it was recently announced that Quest would launch a new bake shop platform for the fall of 2024. The offerings will start with high protein, low sugar, and great tasting muffins and a brownie. The company believes this new platform will bring new consumers to the active nutrition category and further expand usage occasions for the Quest Nutrition brand. Additionally, Quest Nutrition will prioritize its recently revamped RTD protein beverages more and even extend the packaged liquids form factor into protein iced coffee. These product innovations will be underpinned by a comprehensive marketing plan as part of the “Its Basically Cheating” advertising campaign with actor Kumal Nanjiani. This is another big step forward for Quest Nutrition…that will reach billion-dollar retail sales status by the end of this year. Finally, I run through what's causing the weak brand performance at Atkins Nutritionals and explain actions the company is taking to change it…especially against the backdrop of GLP-1 weight loss solutions. In my opinion, you're going to see weight management brands like Atkins (and others) get repositioned on the right side of GLP-1 second-order effects through both product innovation (e.g. Atkins strong)...but most of the “innovation” will come in the targeted communication marketing strategies. The Simply Good Foods Company isn't salty with the recent performance at Quest Nutrition, but it does want more. In this latest episode, I'll utilize the 2024 Q1 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 1/4/2024 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In Q1 of fiscal 2024, both Atkins Nutritionals and Quest Nutrition performed well against the categorical competitors in tacked channel retail takeaway, with Quest Nutrition specifically having strong YoY growth at 20%. What's at the heart of the Quest Nutrition success? Quest Nutrition is still known for the original Quest Bar. That means the company needs the bar business to be healthy for any of this innovation risk to make sense. Here's the good news…the core bar business is growing. In fact, this year it had tracked channel retail takeaway growth of 16%. Additionally, Quest Nutrition has proven it's one of the few brands that can successfully extend across multiple product forms...and its customer base expects them to come into an indulgent snacking category and flip it into great tasting offerings that are higher in protein (and lower in the stuff that you don't want like carbs and sugar). The snacks segment of Quest Nutrition, which now accounts for about 45% of all measured channel retail sales, saw retail takeaway growth increase 24%. But if we take this one layer deeper…the salty side of the Quest snacks segment had quarterly retail takeaway growth of about 45%. Quest chips now make up just over 20% of the total Quest Nutrition revenue. Furthermore, around 30% of new users to the brand have come from chips. Salty snacks are where I'd argue the most excitement lies, but it's just one bullish brand layer stacked on many other categorical ones within the Simply Good Foods Company. I think most people forget about how innovative Quest Nutrition has been since the very beginning of the brand, and its constant product innovation that has been a key driver of new buyers into the brand and increased the household penetration. So, I'd expect Quest Nutrition to be eying up several sizable conventional salty snack categories that have multichannel potential. Finally, I run through the what all the weak brand performance at Atkins Nutritionals means and what actions the company is taking to change it…especially against the backdrop of GLP-1 weight loss solutions. As part of the new CEO's assessment of what is needed to unlock the high potential of the Atkins Nutritionals brand, a comprehensive revitalization plan was developed based on extensive consumer research. Additionally, the Quest Nutrition snacks segment (e.g. Quest Chips, Quest Cookies, Quest Peanut Butter Cups, etc.) is now nearly 45% of measured channel retail sales for the brand and specifically the Quest Chips are now around 20% of the total brand revenue. Did you know there's a new resident DJ…I mean CEO at The Simply Good Foods Company? And does that mean there's about to be cake thrown at competitors of Quest Nutrition and Atkins Nutritionals soon? In this latest episode, I'll utilize the 2023 Q2 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 4/5/2023 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In Q2 of fiscal 2023, both Atkins Nutritionals and Quest Nutrition performed in the top-tier of categorical competitors in retail takeaway, with Quest Nutrition specifically having strong YoY growth at slightly more than 27%. What's at the heart of the Quest Nutrition success? While the Quest Nutrition snacks segment (e.g. Quest Chips, Quest Cookies, Quest Peanut Butter Cups, etc.) is now nearly 45% of measured channel retail sales for the brand...Quest Nutrition is still known for the original Quest Bar. That means the company needs the bar business to be healthy for any of this innovation risk to make sense. Here's the good news…the core bar business is growing. In fact, this quarter it had tracked channel retail takeaway growth in the quarter of 24.1%. What's at the heart of that? Well…obviously in this current environment there's price inflation, but ex-inflation…what's the volume growth coming from? The classic Quest Bar recently went through a major upgrade. Also...Quest Nutrition finally named a celebrity endorser (i.e. EDM DJ Steve Aoki), which has been on the strategic roadmap since The Simply Good Foods Company acquired the protein snacking brand in August 2019. Finally, I run through The Simply Good Foods Company CEO succession plan and give my thoughts around what I think the departure of Joe Scalzo and arrival of Geoff Tanner means for the company's future. Better, softer, yummier…is this newly reformulated Quest Bar a gamechanger in sustaining market leadership in the active nutrition snacking category? In this latest episode, I'll utilize the 2023 Q1 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations that were filed on 1/5/2023 as the backdrop to provide broad nutritional snacking market insights. In Q1 of fiscal 2023, both Atkins Nutritionals and Quest Nutrition performed in the top-tier of categorical competitors in retail takeaway, with Quest Nutrition specifically having strong YoY growth at slightly more than 25%. In fact, this quarter it had tracked channel retail takeaway growth in the quarter of 16.8%. What's at the heart of that? Well…obviously in this current environment there's price inflation, but ex-inflation…what's the volume growth coming from? The classic Quest Bar recently went through a major upgrade. From my understanding, they worked with the global dairy nutrition company Fonterra on a proprietary protein innovation that provides a softer bar and will also yield a longer shelf life of softness which significantly improves the eating experience. I still haven't gotten my hands on some of the new Quest Bars yet, but leadership did note that the Quest Bar retail takeaway growth was stemming from a direct response to consumers enjoying the reformulation. It's still early…maybe ~6 months since the earliest new Quest Bars hit the market, so not going to 100% say all is clear, but if the upgrade does prove successful, it will take away one of the largest consumer pain points with Quest Bars and provide a sustained uptick in sales for the market leader. Also...for the final part of the content, I ran through a few headwinds and tailwinds that The Simply Good Foods Company (and competitors) will be facing in the coming year with a high likelihood of a recession. Quest Nutrition has unlocked growth from leveraging the strengthening functional confectionery trend, but the question of whether it's enough to offset declines in the Quest Bar and Atkins protein bar SKUs is still uncertain. In this latest podcast episode, I'll utilize the 2021Q2 Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL) earnings report, earnings call, and supplemental presentations as the backdrop to provide broad health and fitness snacking market insights. Quest Nutrition and Atkins Nutritionals each continued to have a mixed bag of performance at the product category level, including protein bars and nutritional bars performing worse on a YoY basis (though both continue to outperform the category average). Within my last quarterly update on the Simply Good Foods Company, I provided a business case for why the company should transition to a more "snackier" product portfolio regardless of positive macro trends around consumer mobility. It looks like at least the Quest Nutrition brand was already on the same wavelength. After successfully re-releasing their Quest Peanut Butter Cups to rave reviews and strong sales velocity, they decided to build on that momentum by launching their Quest Candy Bites and Quest Candy Bar this week. In an original article that I wrote just over 3 years ago (Read it here), I called for active nutrition companies to look beyond protein bars and into more confectionary categories that they could add a functional twist to. I mentioned in that article that “if you follow the sports nutrition CPG space closely enough, you have seen some launches that would be more associated confectionery-type CPG products. While most active nutrition brands have not innovated in this manner, are these product launches an indicator of the future?” I think the resounding answer in 2021 is yes…

How To Develop Passion

A simple 5-step process to finally find your passion. On today’s episode Russell talks about an Instagram post he saw by Tom Bilyeu about how to develop your passion. Here are the awesome steps you can take to figure out what you’re passionate about. Go experiment with a ton of stuff. Identify things that spark your interest. Engage deeply with those things. As you engage, if it goes from interest to true fascination, go down the path of gaining mastery. Fascination + Mastery = Passion. So listen here to here Russell explain each of these steps so you can begin your journey into finding out what you are truly passionate about. ---Transcript--- Hey everybody, this is Russell Brunson. I want to welcome you back to the Marketing Secrets podcast. Today’s episode is one I’m really excited for. It’s a question I’ve gotten a lot over the last ten years, ever since I first started talking about business and started telling people they needed to create products and sell them online and how much fun it is. They always ask, “What should I do? How do I find a market?” and I say, “find something you’re passionate about and talk about that.” And what always was strange to me, so many people asked me, “Russell, how do I find my passion?” and I’m like, “What?” for me that concept never made any sense. So that’s why I want to dive into that a little bit more in this episode because I think I may have found an answer. Alright everybody, I got a little excited in the intro and started jumping into it. I thought, Igotta stop, we need the theme song. Or else what’s the point of a podcast? So I’m back. I want to talk about how to develop your passion. This is something that so many people ask me about. So many people, they want to get into business, and they naturally want to know what business they should be in, and I’m like, “Do what you’re passionate about. What fires you up? What gets you excited?” When I first started learning this business I was wrestling at the time, and I wanted to build a wrestling company, teaching wrestling, showing wrestling stuff, and selling wrestling shoes and singlet’s, because that’s what I was passionate about. As I started getting into marketing and business I became passionate about this and started geeking out and all I could think about was the marketing of things, and the selling of things. So that became my business. And I think for most of you guys if you really want to have a business that’s worth while, that you love, not just in the short term, but in the long term is the one that you are going to be the most passionate about. So the question I get though is, “Well, I’m not passionate about anything Russell. How do I find what I’m passionate about? What’s the process?” And for me, I just, I think I was born with this weird thing where I’m excited about everything all the time. So it’s a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing because I already know, if Clickfunnels wasn’t here, what would be the next business? I know exactly what I’d do next, and exactly what I’d do next. I have an order of the things I’m excited about. I know for myself I could very easily know exactly what I’d do and I would do it. So because of that, that question was always hard for me. I don’t understand, it doesn’t compute in my brain. And then a couple of days ago I saw an Instagram post by Tom Bilyeu, who is the founder of Quest Bar, Quest nutrition, which was recently valued at over a billion dollars, he sold a whole bunch of it. Anyway, super cool dude. I had a chance to hang out with him earlier this year, just a ton of respect for him. I’ve been following him and he’s got a podcast called Impact Theory, which is amazing. And he’s probably the most quotable guy in the world. Our friend, Natalie Hodson, if you guys have been following Natalie at all, her whole house is covered Tom Bilyeu quotes. She writes them all out. Everything he says is just amazing. With that said, he posted something on Instagram that I was like, “Oh yes, this is it.” And I took a snap shot of it, and right now I’m looking at that snap shot because it was like an actual blue print for how to find a passion and I it is what so many people are missing. So if you are in that spot where you’re like, “I am just not passionate.” Or “ I don’t know what I’m passionate about, what do I do?” This instagram post from Tom is amazing. So I’m going to read it and we’re going to talk about it. So I appreciate Tom helping us out with the content for today. So his post said, “How to develop passion.” And he goes through 5 things. Number one – Go experiment with a ton of stuff. Now if you don’t know what you’re passionate about, that’s probably because you’re not trying enough things. Go do a bunch of things. Just go randomly try tons of stuff. Try bowling, try basketball, try running, try playing games, try reading books, try reading more books, try listening to podcasts. Just experiment with a ton of stuff until you find stuff that starts peaking your interest. That’s number one, go experiment with a ton of stuff. Number two – Identify things that spark your interest. So as you’re going through this thing where you’re just trying a whole bunch of stuff, what are the things that peak your interest? What is it you’re like, “Oh that is cool. I want to learn more about that.” What is it you get deeper into? What are the things when you’re scrolling on instagram stop you and you’re like, “Oh, I want to learn more about that.” And you start searching and start geeking out on it.  So number one, go experiment on a ton of stuff. Number two, identify things that spark your interest, and then number three – Engage deeply with those things. So things that spark your interest, now it’s time not to just get surface level, but to get deep into it. So when you go deep into something, it’s when you start going and you’re like, “Okay, what are the other books, the other podcasts, the other things, the other places I can go and study and learn this some more? Who are the mentors? Who are the people? The more you go, the deeper you go, typically what’s going to happen, one of two things. You start going deep and either you lose interest. Or you go deep and it starts getting more and more excited. I know with me, in college, when I decided I wanted to sell software online, I thought I’m going to do that. It sparked an interest in me. So I shifted my major to be Computer Information Systems, I started studying it, and I started going to class. And the first day I was like, this is amazing and I started getting deeper and deeper into it. And four days in I was like, “I don’t even know what they’re talking about anymore.” So I started going deep and it didn’t keep resonating. I was like, I can’t build software. It didn’t engage me. But I didn’t know that until I started trying to go deep. So some people just never go deep. So you have to start going deep and start engaging with those things to find out which ones really stick and which ones are going to have a huge impact with you. So start geeking out. Now in our world today, it’s so easy. Literally go buy all the books, listen to the podcasts, as much as you can on those topics. I remember when I first learned about NLP, Neural Logistics Programming, when I first heard that topic I was like, “Oh this is cool.” I started dabbling, I started geeking out, and then I literally went on a binge. I went on Amazon and bought every book that had the world NLP in the title or description. I went to iTunes and I searched for every podcast about NLP. I started YouTubing it, and within about a week and a half I had everything ever created on NLP in my office or on my desk or in my computer. I was listening to it, studying it, mastering it, and in a very short period of time it became something that I would actually love to go and create courses on NLP and how they relate back to sales and sales funnels. And maybe I will someday, but I got deeply passionate and I went deep.  So number three is engage deeply with those things. Number four – as you engage, if it goes from interest to true fascination, go down the path of gaining mastery. That’s what I’m talking about right now. As you’re engaging, as you’re going deeper you’re looking for what things are going to shift into a true fascination. And after you have that it moves you to step number five, which he wrote – Fascination plus mastery equals passion. Ooh fascination plus mastery equals passion. So you’re fascinated by something and then you start geeking out and going deep on it until you become a master of it, and that is your passion. So if any of us think passion is just going to bubble to the top and you’re just like, “Oh I’m passionate about this thing.” It doesn’t typically work that way. Think about your kids. When kids are young they do a whole bunch of things. My kids are trying a whole bunch of different sports and activities, and schooling, and friends and they’re just experimenting with tons of stuff right. Number two, they identify things that spark their interest. Number three, they deeply engage with those things. They go deep and start figuring it out. Number four, as they engage if it goes from interest to true fascination, then they go down the path of gaining mastery and number five, fascination plus mastery equals passion. Oh, so good. Tom you are the man. Thank you for sharing that with us today, I hope that helps any of you guys who are trying to figure it out. Now you’ve got a path and a framework and it’s not difficult, it’s pretty simple. So I’m going to read this one more time, just so you guys have it, for those who are taking notes, or those who are in the car and just need repetition, because this is one of those things that if you’re struggling with it, I don’t want you to miss it. Number one, go experiment with a ton of stuff. Number two, identify the thing that sparks your interest. Number three, engage deeply with those things. Number four, as you engage if it goes from interest to true fascination, go down the path of gaining mastery. Number five, fascination plus mastery equals passion. That is where you’re going to find your passion. Alright, I got one more cool quote I want to share with you guys, also from Tom’s instagram today. And this one, is actually today that I’m recording this, its Martin Luther King Day, so I know it’ll be a week or two past that, when you guys have a chance to listen to it. But this is a quote from Martin Luther King, which is so good. He said, “Whatever your life’s work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.” Oh that is good. That is good. So that come backs to this whole fascination plus mastery. Master your craft, become so good at it, like what Martin Luther King said, “Whatever your life’s work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.” So for me, I think that’s what it is with funnels. What is it for you? Alright guys, appreciate you listening, hopefully this will help you on your path to figure out your passion because I promise you, if you vision is built upon things you’re passionate about, you’ll have way more excitement, way more joy, way more fulfillment, as you are changing the lives of the people that you’re serving. If it’s something you’re not passionate about, you’re not going to care as much about that, about the people, about anything. So become passionate, become obsessed. I remember I was watching the Dry Bar Comedy Club interview that Andrew Warner from Mixergy did with me about two months ago. I was watching the replay, just kind of getting into it, and it was funny because he’s talking about business, he’s like, “You could build anything, but you picked funnels. And you’re so passionate about funnels and getting all these people excited. Why funnels? That’s like the most boring thing in the world.” I was like, “I know, but for me it was fascinating.” And it’s funny because for the first decade of me doing this, I would learn about these things, I’d go to these business conferences and half the people in the audience are sound asleep and no one’s that excited. I’m like, “Gall, are you guys not getting this, this is the most amazing thing in the world.” I’d be freaking out. And as I’ve kind of built my platform I’m like, you know, I want to make this cool. I want to make funnels and direct response marketing and these things that are geeky and nerdy subjects, that typically aren’t exciting, I want to make this exciting because it is exciting. So for me it’s like, if I look at this path, you know, I engaged in it, I got true fascination, and then I mastered it myself and then my passion is like sharing this with other people. That’s why we built Clickfunnels, that’s why we have these books and the courses and the podcast and everything because we’re so passionate about it. And the passion creates excitement and desire in other people and if I can do that right, then other people will come to us and come to me, and come into our world, because they see the passion, they see mastery, they see those things, and we can make them fascinated as well. So when you are extremely passionate about something, it’s way more likely that others around you will be as well. So alright, I’m going to bounce, I need to get back to work on my slides. The 10x event is like a week and a half away, a lot of work to do. Appreciate you guys listening in. If you enjoyed this podcast please take a picture of it, share it on Instagram and Facebook, tag me and also use the hash tag Marketing Secrets, and I would love to see that, see your comments. Thanks everybody, appreciate you all and we’ll talk to you soon. Bye everybody.

"The Billion Dollar Co-Founder" This interview with serial entrepreneur Tom Bilyeu covers the full story of how he went from being a kid in Tacoma, Washington with no particular talents or abilities to ultimately become one of the most prolific co-founders & entrepreneurs of our decade. We discuss everything from his early moves to film school in LA, to his series of entrepreneurial endeavors before founding QUEST Nutrition -  and everything in between. We even get an awesome story out of him about how he and his wife used to drive around Beverly Hills just a few years ago while clipping coupons and barely making ends meet. It's loaded with gems about how he and his team built businesses that generated $100's of millions of dollars in annual revenue, grew by over 50,000% in a matter of a few years AND managed to help millions of people improve the quality of their health in the process. As a huge proponent of personal growth and development, Tom was incredibly inspiring and it was a true privilege to interview him on set in his beautiful Beverly Hills home that day. We even talk about what he's up to now at IMPACT THEORY, which is his new media platform aimed at empowering and inspiring people to go out there and execute on making their dreams happen! You didn't do well avoiding the chicken wings, potato chips, etc and now you feel bad cause knew the scale was going to go up (and it did). Now what?  Well you could shame yourself to death, make yourself feel bad, which will lead to you making yourself feel better with FOOD. Or, You can realize your human, go cook yourself some better food and get back on track.  The road to weight loss seldom a straight line, and by that I mean its never a straight line.  Get back on the horse and do the right thing. Protein Bar Break Comparison I compared the Power bar (38), Met RX (41) Pure Protein (44) and Cliff Bar (61). The biggest problem with the lower ranked bars was the addition of saturated fat and sugar. The scoring was via the Shop Well App.  They recommend the Quest Bar line who has interesting flavors like Peanut Butter Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and variety packs

Jeff Metcalf is the owner of Progressive Fitness he specializes in treating soft tissue injuries with Active Release techniques & deep tissue therapy. Jeff has integrated different massage styles along with ART. ART is a new method of quickly, effectively & accurately diagnosing isolating soft tissue pathology in asymptomatic & symptomatic presentations. Every ART session is actually a combination of examination & treatment. The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness & movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments & nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. These treatment protocols - over 500 specific moves - are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART is not a cookie-cutter approach. Join us & Jeff Metcalf as we discuss The ART Of Massage. JeffreyLeeMetcalf@yahoo.com
