Hundreds of college football teams, at all levels, have hired head coaches back to their old jobs. There's a whole Wikipedia list and everything, dating to the 1800s. But most of these situations are many decades old and didn't happen in FBS. What can we make, however, of 19 coaches who came around after World War II and got two head coaching opportunities at the same school? The list ranges from big successes like Bill Snyder to extreme failures like Randy Edsall, and there are lots of lessons to learn. Notre Dame's women's basketball team is out there curb-stomping Sooners. THERE IS A NOTRE DAME FENCING REFERENCE! In an escape room. Notre Dame football's pro-day is on the way. The small hands of Kenny Pickett and other combine/pro-day things. Offensive line vision board. Brian Kelly ripping off Brian Kelly and Josh has had enough. It could have been Randy Edsall for the love of god. So... you really WANT to play the Ohio State Buckeyes at night in Columbus? The Sweet 16 of Brian Kelly's big wins at Notre Dame. Mental performance. Jude points out some NIL disagreements - which isn't what was discussed preshow. Dante Moore recruiting. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! At about the 1:40 mark, discussion turns to the coaching and quarterback fits of those teams searching. Finally, at about 2:12 minutes, attention goes to the NFL Conference Championship games and what's at stake, including an impassioned defense of Zac Taylor from Randy. Purdue vs. UCONN Pick Prediction 9/11/2021 by Tony T. Purdue vs. UCONN—College football pick is Purdue Boilermakers -34. UCONN did not play in 2020. The team opened 2021 at 0-2 losing 45-0 at Fresno St then last week were beaten 38-28 to FCS Holy Cross. Huskies could only gain 263 yards on their FCS opponent with 89 rushing. Following the game head coach Randy Edsall announced his retirement at the end of the season but after meeting with school officials stepped down immediately. Team has not lost 23 of 26. In their past two seasons the Huskies surrendered 40 points a game in 2019 and 50 in 2018. Purdue opened up at home to Oregon St and came away with a 30-21 win. They put up 401 yards of offense on their PAC 12 opponent Jack Plummer was accurate under center passing for 313 yards and two touchdowns completing 70.7% of his throws. This is an experienced Boilermakers team with nine starters on each side of the ball returning. Purdue averaged 309 passing yards and 67% completion rate last year and should be able to blow out the Huskies. Play Purdue -34.

Last week, after UConn lost 45-0 to Fresno State to open the season, The UConn Pod wondered out loud if things were as bad as 2019 or if the Huskies still had a chance to reach some sort of success this year. This week, head coach Randy Edsall is out after a disastrous, embarrassing loss to Holy Cross, an FCS school that should never be beating UConn at football. The last time UConn as an FBS program lost to an FCS school was against Towson in 2013. On both occasions, it became apparent the Huskies needed a new leader. So UConn is forging ahead with a coaching search while defensive coordinator Lou Spanos serves as interim head coach. The Huskies will need to find a way to salvage some sort of respectability this season, which is still possible given some of the future opponents on the schedule. On this week's podcast, Aman, Dan, and Daniel discuss the disappointment of this young season, review the past four years of the Randy Edsall Experience, and also what Edsall's legacy may be as possibly the best and worst coach in program history. Also, how concerned should Clemson fans be, especially with a schedule that includes zero ranked teams the rest of the season (13:00). UCLA rolls and is Coach O starting to feel the heat?: Next, Aaron discusses a marquee win for UCLA at the Rose Bowl (21:30).
