Dialing the episode length back a bit this time around, the hosts deliver Reviews of two somewhat small-scale, but nonetheless outstanding shows. First CC is talking about Made in Abyss and explains why this emotional gut punch of a fantasy tale is worth excavating. Then John wraps up the episode by dishing out his opinion on Sakura Quest and discusses how its many colorful characters bring life not only to the rural countryside of Japan, but also to the show itself. This week Bcom and Leo get together to discuss the 12th week of Summer 2017 anime. Before we get into a bunch of this season's finales, Bcom offers up a stunning rendition of some Rick & Morty meme that he doesn't fully understand. Look forward to discussion of A Centaur's Life's terrible "ending," Princess Principal rushing into a decent stopping point, Restaurant to Another World never changing its recipe, Tsuredure Children finishing strong, Sakura Quest finishing even stronger, and our other four shows lagging behind a week and leading up to their finales with varying degrees of success. We believe we've discovered the true nature of the anime curse, and it's that the deeper you travel into abyss, the harder it is to escape that truth that most anime just ain't very good.Recorded October 2, 2017.Timestamps:2:09 - A Centaur's Life (Ep. 12)8:40 - Princess Principal (Ep. 12)26:31 - Restaurant to Another World (Ep. 12)35:05 - Tsuredure Children (Ep. 12)43:23 - Sakura Quest (Ep. 25)57:20 - Gamers! On this week's podcast, Bcom and Leo get into the 11th week of Fall 2017 anime, for better or worse. Things you can look forward to this week are A Centaur's Life deciding to do a Sesame Street episode about naming different weeds, Princess Principal rushing into its final arc, the Tsuredure Children continuing to soothe our souls, Sakura Quest being at its Sakura Best, Made in Abyss triggering Leo with multiple conversations about piss, and Char Aznable showing up in 18if.Recorded September 24, 2017.Timestamps:2:03 - A Centaur's Life (Ep. 11)16:18 - Princess Principal (Ep. 11)28:35 - Restaurant to Another World (Ep. 11)34:42 - Tsuredure Children (Ep. 11)45:05 - Sakura Quest (Ep. 24)52:49 - Gamers (Ep. 10)1:03:50 - Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul (Ep. 22)1:14:03 - Made in Abyss (Ep. 11)1:24:11 - 18if (Ep. 11)1:31:40 - Action Heroine Cheer Fruits (Ep. 10)

The Summer 2017 Anime Season is coming to a close and the hosts of the Otaku Spirit Animecast are here to give their thoughts on the early-enders. Creations battling it out, romance both tragic and hilarious, and reviving the boonies! Bcom and Leo review the Summer 2017 season's 9th week of anime, and find some common themes. They theorize that some anime consultant is running around between different studios telling directors to add horribly long English titles, as well as random boob jokes to every episode this week. We can't confirm it, but we have a lot of supporting evidence. Stay tuned for a scathing review of A Centaur's Life's attempt to produce a serious holocaust episode, Princess Principal telling us more about than Chise than we really needed to know, Rage of Bahamut kicking into full-gear with its must-watch after-credits scenes, Made in the Abyss picking up the pace, and an absolutely batshit episode of 18if that somehow had better idol music than the entire Love Live! series. This week Bcom and Leo review the Summer 2017 anime season's 8th week of shows. This time around we learned that centaurs are the world's greatest horse-archers, Princess Principal inadvertently attempts the same experiment as the movie Trading Places, and even in a restaurant in another world mermaids are still topless. Tsuredure Children proves us right for cutting Convenience Store Boy Friends with one of its best episodes to date, Leo explains the similarities between his childhood town and Manoyama in Sakura Quest, and Karen single-handedly saves Gamers! from itself. Finally, we witness another spectacular dancing scene in Virgin Soul, Made in Abyss gets "Blaze Reap" into some new lore, 18if is slightly more comprehensible this week, and the Cheer Fruits participate in a rare, plot-relevant bath scene!Recorded August 30, 2017.Timestamps:0:59 - A Centaur's Life (Ep. 8)13:04 - Princess Principal (Ep. 8)28:15 - Restaurant to Another World (Ep. 8)38:22 - Tsuredure Children (Ep. 8)48:12 - Sakura Quest (Ep. 21)1:02:59 - Gamers! Bcom and Leo get their knives out for midseason cuts, but only one show succumbs to the chopping block. We continue on to recap the 7th week of Summer 2017 season shows. This week, we apparently watched an episode of a Loli Centaur's Life and Loli Princess Laundry, Restaurant to Another World finally introduces that other girl from the OP, Sakura Quest continues to be excellent, Gamers! continues to be less about games and more about dumb, but entertaining relationships, Convenience Store Boy Friends' Mashiki has a lie in April to tell, Rage of Bahamut finally mentions Amira, Made in Abyss embraces violence against children, and Cheer Fruits introduces a surprisingly entertaining youngest girl in the group. And, in the highlight of the episode, we try to decrypt and understand the most creative episode of the season, episode 7 of 18if which featured references ranging from the Wizard of Oz to the Khmer Rouge...it's a wild one.Recorded August 24, 2017.Timestamps:2:58 - A Centaur's Life (Ep. 7)15:57 - Princess Principal (Ep. 7)25:50 - Restaurant to Another World (Ep. 7)35:38 - Sakura Quest (Ep. 20)45:20 - Gamers! Leo and Bcom take the time this week to shout out a few stand-out short anime from the Summer 2017 season, and then continue on to review the 6th week of on-going full-length shows. This week, a bunch of shows didn't air for mysterious reasons, the Democratic Communists took over America in A Centaur's Life, Beatrice wasn't constantly screaming in Princess Principal, Bcom watched the correct episode of Restaurant to Another World, we shout out a great Crunchyroll article comparing real-life anime locations in Sakura Quest, and Gamers! caused some irreconcilable differences to arise between both its characters, and the podcast hosts.Recorded August 16, 2017.Timestamps:Shorts:1:36 - Aho-Girl (Eps. 1-6)8:43 - Tsuredure Children (Eps. 1-7)15:45 - Netsuzou TRap (Eps. 1-6)Full-length shows:21:40 - A Centaur's Life (Ep. 6)37:28 - Princess Principal (Ep. 6)53:29 - Restaurant to Another World (Eps. 5 & 6)1:11:28 - Sakura Quest (Ep. 19)1:22:20 - Gamers! On today's show, Marc talks about just a wee bit of anime, having finally caught up with Sakura Quest, and then spends (almost) the rest of the show talking about games, from a return to form from Sega and Sonic to the disgustingly beautiful sequel to everyone's favorite fencing game that isn't Track & Field 2 (and a game where you can choose the size of your dong, too). Anyway, cheers and enjoy the anime-zing(ly gross) show. Anyway, that's it and that's all folks, and, if you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something-something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, podcast(s), and all the ridiculous jazz we make over here at Pixelated Sausage. And don't forget, you can also support the site by shopping at Amazon if that's your jam--you can probably buy jam on Amazon too.

Bcom and Leo break down the Summer 2017 season's 5th week of anime. This week, A Centaur's Life makes reference to a John Carpenter movie, Bcom watches the wrong episode of Restaurant to Another World, Sakura Quest goes exactly how one of us expected, Bcom struggles to understand shoujo psychology in Convenience Store Boy Friends, we have a long philosophical discussion about wtf happened in 18if, and Riko goes topless in Made in Abyss.Recorded August 10, 2017.Timestamps:1:20 - A Centaur's Life (Ep. 5)11:13 - Princess Principal (Ep. 5)21:06 - Restaurant to Another World (Ep. whoops)21:36 - Sakura Quest (Ep. 18)30:09 - Gamers! On this week's podcast, Little Witch Academia's penultimate episode makes homage to Star Wars, the story and characters in Sakura Quest start coming together nicely, it hurts Bcom's brain to try to think about Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism, and Leo experiments with a new method of "not" watching Tsuki ga Kirei. We finish up with an epic rant by Leo about the decline of Re:CREATORS and a review of the final episode of Attack on Titan s2.Recorded July 1, 2017.Timestamps:1:16 - Alice & Zoroku (Ep. 11)14:46 - Little Witch Academia (Ep. 24)30:29 - Grimoire of Zero (Ep. 11)42:05 - Sakura Quest (Ep. 12)56:50 - Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism (Ep. 12)1:05:40 - Tsuki ga Kirei (Ep. 11)1:21:06 - Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul (Ep. 12)1:32:31 - Re:CREATORS (Ep. 11)1:51:23 - My Hero Academia (Ep. 25) - no review, part of Summer season1:53:42 - Attack on Titan s2 (Ep. 37)

[Recorded on 22nd June 2017] It’s time for the next Anime Limited / AllTheAnime Podcast! On this episode join Jeremy, Andrew Kerry, Keith and Jessica as they talk a variety of topics with (it’s got to be said) some very NSFW language unintentionally involved. (You can thank Kerry for that.) Topics covered (but not limited to) include the Viceland TV channel announcing it’s anime block of programming and the reaction to said announcement, documentaries on Netflix that keep you awake at night, there’s a new streaming service that launched “HIDIVE” so we have chinwag about that, what “authoring” a disc actually means or entails, favourite non-anime films we’ve seen this year, the price of manga (as in books, not the anime distributor) and more! Plus to conclude the podcast we give some brief thoughts on the first episode of Sakura Quest – which you can watch at both Crunchyroll and FunimationNow. A fun podcast as always! We hope you enjoy listening to it and we’ll be back next Friday with another episode for you! NOTE: As always please note this podcast contains strong language and any views expressed by individuals in this podcast do not reflect those of Anime Limited.

Marc starts off today's meaty episode with a story about a mouse and an egg who go on a little adventure that quickly gets out of hand and grows more and more ridiculous in the most delightful of ways—I highly recommend checking it out via the links below. After that, Marc previews a few more spring anime—including Sakura Quest and Hinako Note—and then hits a few games—including a review of Spellspire and a preview of Embers of Mirrim. Anyway, cheers and enjoy the anime-zing(ly weird) show.
