Samantha Azzopardi spent 10 years receiving care as a troubled teen. It would be years before the truth came out that she was actually an adult woman. Her scams stretched decades and impacted families, friends and even children, in Australia and abroad. But it wasn't money that she wanted… In this conversation, Mia speaks with investigative journalist Sharon Davis, co-host of the successful podcast Finding Samantha. Sharon worked with colleagues Tim Desmond, Nicoline Greer and Liam O'Brien from RTE in Ireland, tracking Samantha's crimes. What she didn't expect was the way her own life would become entangled in this story. Listen to part two of Mia and Sharon's conversation here. One night, a teenager breaks into Agnes' house, looking for "The Road". Agnes believes he is tied to the murder case and arrests him. Rio Vidal, an FBI agent, comes to Agnes and helps her realize the Jane Doe she is seeing is actually Wanda Maximoff's body, and that Agnes is actually the witch Agatha Harkness, who has been trapped under Wanda's spell for three years.[a] Waking up from the spell, Agatha realizes that her powers are gone and that Vidal, a fellow witch whom Agatha has history with, is here to kill her. Agatha convinces Vidal to spare her so she can get her powers back, but Vidal warns Agatha that the Salem's Seven will soon come after her. Needing a coven to open a portal to the Road, the pair recruits the witches Lilia Calderu, Jennifer Kale, and Alice Wu-Gulliver. Agatha also recruits Westview resident Sharon Davis in replacement of Vidal. Sharon Davis shares Monday's devotional podcast from Bible Fellowship Church. [Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:16]
Are you currently in your zone of competence, your zone of excellence, or your zone of genius? If you generally feel a bit bored or frustrated or just not lit up about your work, you're probably not in your zone of genius. You might be really good at your job, but if it doesn't bring you joy, you're in your zone of competence or excellence. In this episode of Educators Moving On, Dr Shenelle DuBose speaks with guest Sharon Davis about honouring your greatness, moving away from excellence and towards genius, and why it starts with prioritising ourselves, highlighting: How many of us educators are proficient and competent at many things that don't necessarily make us happy, and that proficiency does not constitute a good enough reason to keep doing those things Our zone of genius is when we're really good at something without putting that much effort in, that always lights us up and brings us inspiration and energy, and we all have one Why staying in our zone of excellence often keeps us from exploring and embracing our zone of genius and how the “shoulds” keep us stuck The relationship between prioritising ourselves and operating in our zone of genius and how to use the “Absolute yes / Top 5” list to help shift your life Questions for reflection to help us understand what we most deeply want for ourselves and who we want to be “We're given these gifts and talents and then we settle for the thing that is less than just because we're good at it, not knowing that if we stop doing that thing and start doing the thing that is innate, that is natural, our lives will be so much fuller and richer. But it's a really big gap between the zone of excellence and the zone of genius and what's in that gap is being brave enough to step away from excellence to get to genius.” Sharon Davis-S1 E36, Educators Moving on Podcast Follow Dr Shennelle DuBose: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/educatorsmovingon/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EducatorsMovingOn Join us February 18-19th, 2023 for the Million Dollar Mindset CEO Retreat in Cancun, Mexico. https://go.educatorsmovingon.com/mdm-retreat/ The 5 Biggest Mistakes Educators Make When Shifting to Educational Consulting Free Webinar: https://go.educatorsmovingon.com/5-mistakes-webinar/
In 2013, an upset and distressed young girl was found wandering in Dublin. In need of help, members of An Garda Síochána - the Irish police - brought her to the children's hospital. When they began speaking with her, she didn't talk but did draw pictures suggesting she was in serious trouble. What followed was one of the most unusual Garda investigations ever seen, and it became a global news story. The answers to that investigation lay with a woman named Samantha Azzopardi. Fast forward almost 10 years, and the girl at the GPO is still making headlines... (2022) Narrated by Áine Lawlor. Recorded and produced by Tim Desmond, Sharon Davis and Nicoline Greer. Anna Quindlen can write pretty much anything – years of insightful columns for the “New York Times,” wonderful fiction as evidenced by nine widely-read novels, and non-fiction as well. The latest is her plea for all of us to write. “Write for Your Life” is the book. It's a small volume but it's message belies its size. Anna Quindlen wants us writing for future grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for our current loved ones, and even for ourselves. Write letters, keep journals, record your own life history – it doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be personal. She asks her readers: If you could have one piece of writing from someone in your life who's gone, who would that be? When you answer that, you'll know why writing is so important. As you write, she argues, it may even bring greater clarity about your own problems and thoughts. After our conversation with Anna, stay for Sharon Davis of Book Bound Bookstore in Blairsville, Georgia, population 616. Talk about an act of faith! Opening a tiny town independent bookstore. The international swimming federation, FINA, have voted to stop transgender athletes from competing in women's races if they have gone through any part of male puberty. The new policy means that transgender women who want to compete as women will now be required to have completed transition by the age of 12, making the vast majority of them ineligible to compete in female categories. Former British swimmer Sharon Davis says she's proud of FINA, while some trans groups and trans athletes criticise the decision. We spoke to the American trans athlete Fallon Fox who is a mixed martial arts fighter, and Karen Pickering, former swimming world champion.
Chaired by Sharon Davis. In this compelling account of contemporary conspiracies, the internet's dark corners, and those who inhabit both, Van Badham dives deep into the world of Gamergate, Pizzagate, QAnon and more. With a new capacity to cross-pollinate with each other and online, the wild nature of the tales from this new brand of conspiracist may sound funny – Lizard People anyone? – but they leave a trail of devastation in their wake. QAnon and On lays it all bare.

June 13, 2001. Dallas, Texas. 51-year old teacher Sharon Davis drops her daughter off at a bus depot, but fails to show up for a scheduled training session at her school later that morning. Five days later, Sharon's abandoned minivan is discovered in the parking lot of a local fitness club. Suspicion turns towards Sharon's estranged husband, Ron Davis, as Sharon had filed for divorce from him only two days before she vanished. Ron maintains his innocence and claims that Sharon stole money from him and took off on her own. Did Sharon disappear voluntarily or was she the victim of a marriage gone bad? On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we cover a missing persons case which proved so controversial that “Unsolved Mysteries” produced a segment about the case and elected not to air it on television.
