MMA Fighter Ramona Pascual is Hong Kong's first female to compete in the UFC. Starting out training Muay Thai and MMA in Hong Kong, she began a journey to be an elite professional fighter, travelling to Korea, Thailand, Shanghai China and finally the US where she has taken hold training with Syndicate MMA under John Wood. After her first fight in the UFC octagon, she is driven to progress and test herself with the goal of making the upper echelon of her weight division. Three Colorado fighters will get back to action at LFA on Friday night and many more new fights have been announced. So let's take a look at all the upcoming mma action in our Weekend Preview. Michael Stack is coming into this fight after the first loss of his career his last time out in what was a fight of the night performance. What do you see as significant differences? What you see as fundamental differences ( if you see them) between MMA and Self Defense All combat sports want to be like a real fight; then, there are rules to have a match.09:27Have you ever been confronted in a situation where you'd need to defend yourself? If so, when? Only when younger ( 17 - 18), if you train and become stronger, more confident, bullies will not mess with you11:33What is your recommendation for training for a regular person? Routines that you see working/ tips for combat If you train Karate, Krav Maga, MMA, all is good if you are up for self-defense than you need to do sparring and to have technique is a must.17:39How does your training schedule look like? And in the now moment, what are the changes? Usually, I train 3 times a day, now I do one long session, and I'm doing several different aspects, striking, wrestling ( I have 2 great partners from Israel here) and conditioning.17:41Do you follow a specific plan in this lockdown? Since you work with other people/partners/instructors, how does it look like? I make plans for them ( smiles), regarding the plan we go step by step, fundamentals are first then later we will do more advanced combos and technique/ tactics19:07What exercises and routines do you recommend doing? How should they work on skills? Technique, conditioning, a mix? We've talked about this, and the key is technique, of course, you need to do conditioning; still the most important is that when your technique is better, you will outwork the adversary23:43How do you manage your time to train and rest and have personal time and also getting trough all the analysis? On Thursday, April 21st, 2016 Olivier Busquet and JC Alvarado touched gloves in the Octagon at Syndicate MMA in Las Vegas, NV.  The fight was the culmination of 6-months of intense training, and a $270k purse was up for grabs.  Over 100 spectators paid a $20 entry fee, which was all donated to the One Drop charity, and thousands more watched online. Most had a financial interest in the fight, with over $1,000,000 in side action was rumored to have been wagered.  The fight was set for four 5-mintue rounds, with a fifth to be added if it ended at 2-2.  The judges were not needed, as the fight was called after just 3 rounds. Olivier had bloodied up JC badly in the third, and it was agreed that it was no longer safe for him to continue.  Olivier opened as the underdog, but after a dominant performance had his hand raised as the winner.  In the week's episode Olivier joins us and shares his thoughts on the experience.  

A long time vet of MMA and a friend of the show, Roxanne Modafferi was a part of the historic first female cast of the UFC's "Ultimate Fighter".
