In this throwback conversation from the fall of 2018 we bring back lessons from a period of time when c@nnabis was being launched into Canada as a legal, heavily-regulated substance for adult recreational use.    We summarize my conversation with Dr. Terry Lake, a recurring guest and speaker with our podcast and virtual events - who never fails to offer incredible, logical wisdom.   Dr Lake has rich experience. He started in broadcasting, was a veterinarian, went into lecturing, moved on to be in politics (Minister of Health), and then Corporate Responsibility in an emerging field - ie: Cannabis (Hexo).    He talks to Colleen about the deep and villainized history of c@nnabis and how Canada's legalization of it is miles ahead of its time and something that's worth being excited about.   This is a knowledge translation of science and opinion from a truly expert source, on a controversial topic.

Over the years, there have been bodies of murdered people found in Terry Lake. I personally witnessed a man being stuffed in a trunk when I was a child growing up on 9th Street, when I was just 7. The next day we heard about it on the news… “the second body to be found recently in Terry Lake”… That was 40+ years ago.https://www.change.org/p/scotts-bluff-county-attorney-search-terry-lake-for-dead-bodies-gering-neYou can be absolutely certain that 1973 was NOT the last time anyone thought of dumping a body or evidence of a crime in Terry Lake. We believe it was not the last time it happened. There are several unsolved murders and / or missing people in Scotts Bluff County and what is most disturbing is that the last time they began a Terry Lake search, they were suddenly called off from the search. Yeah. Not good. We know exactly who made the call, too.WHY? Why was the search suddenly called off? Why are officers threatening to jail anyone who swims in Terry Lake? I know it's illegal to swim in Terry Lake, but to threaten ARREST or worse for simply trying to search a lake? Something just does not sit right with this one. It's time to take a look. Even if they didn't find any bodies, they could potentially recover guns or other evidence and maybe solve one or two of the many unsolved murders of Scotts Bluff County.Sign this petition and share it everywhere.Terry Lake is located in Terrytown, Nebraska in the county of Scotts Bluff. It is a village situated between the cities of Scottsbluff and Gering, Nebraska.https://diggingdeeper.net/2021/07/19/petition-search-terry-lake/

Today I'm talking with Terry Lake, who is the federal Liberal Party's candidate for the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding in B.C.'s Interior. If you don't know it yet, you will soon enough — it's election season once again in Canada. This fall, Canadians will go to the polls to choose a federal government after four years of Justin Trudeau's Liberals.  Terry Lake was acclaimed as a candidate earlier this year. He is a seasoned politician who has served at both the municipal and provincial levels. As a BC Liberal, he served as Environment Minister and Health Minister in Premier Christy Clark's government. This is Terry's first run at federal politics. He is coming to the game in a time when Canadians are demanding strong leadership. There are many complex, divisive issues confronting Canadians these days, especially on the environmental front, and those who are elected to serve will face difficult choices and challenges. There are concerns around everything from climate change and resource development to First Nations rights and growing opposition to hunting and firearms. Throw in a myriad of other social issues and you have a political landscape fraught with obstacles. I wanted to explore with Terry his views around environmental and other outdoor issues, and try to understand more what he sees as the federal government's role in the management of these important topics … In the coming weeks, I will reach out to candidates from other parties as well, to help us better understand where all our political players stand on issues that affect us as outdoor enthusiasts, B.C. residents, citizens and caretakers of natural environments.
