On this snowy Sunday in Week 15, the Eagles are set to face the Raiders, a team struggling at the bottom of the NFL standings. Despite the Raiders' poor performance, the Eagles are in a slump themselves, having lost three consecutive games, which adds an intriguing dynamic to the matchup. While the Eagles are favored due to their overall strength and the Raiders starting backup quarterback Kenny Pickett, the unpredictable nature of the NFL means anything can happen on game day. Connor Thomas is simply hoping for a win, regardless of the performance, while Sylvana seeks a victory by more than seven points to regain confidence in the team. Joining the discussion are Andrew DiCecco and Tim McManus, who offer insights into the game. Andrew anticipates that the Raiders will utilize tight end Brock Bowers prominently in their intermediate passing game, while the Eagles are expected to emphasize their running attack against the Raiders' defense. Tim McManus points out that wind conditions could significantly impact both kicking and passing strategies. Both analysts are optimistic that the Eagles can secure a much-needed victory.Following Jalen Hurts' disappointing performance, Connor raises concerns about the Super Bowl MVP's current standing. The conversation also shifts to the broader NFL landscape, examining which teams might assist the Eagles in their playoff aspirations. The injury reports for both teams are reviewed, and final predictions are made as the game approaches.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this episode, we travel to the remote Uintah Basin of northeastern Utah to investigate one of the most intensively studied paranormal locations on Earth: Skinwalker Ranch. This 512-acre property has been the site of documented UFO encounters, cattle mutilations, shapeshifting creatures, and phenomena so bizarre that even the United States government spent $22 million trying to understand it.Our story begins with the ancient warnings of the Ute tribe, who have forbidden their people from setting foot on this land for generations. We explore the legend of the Navajo skinwalkers—malevolent witches said to be capable of transforming into animals—and the territorial conflict that allegedly led to a curse being placed on this remote stretch of Utah high desert. At the heart of the narrative is the Sherman family, who purchased the ranch in 1994 expecting to build a quiet life raising cattle. What they found instead was eighteen months of relentless terror. We detail their first encounter with an enormous wolf that couldn't be killed despite being shot multiple times at point-blank range. We examine the systematic mutilation of their cattle, animals discovered with surgical-precision wounds and not a single drop of blood. We recount the night their three dogs were incinerated by a glowing blue orb, reduced to greasy black lumps in seconds. The investigation deepens when billionaire Robert Bigelow buys the property in 1996 and deploys PhD-level scientists through the National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS). A disturbing pattern emerges: the phenomena seem to anticipate the researchers' movements and deliberately evade documentation. We describe the March 1997 encounter in which investigators witnessed a massive creature with glowing yellow eyes perched in a tree, and a dog-headed beast on the ground below—both vanishing after being fired upon. We revisit the August 1997 portal sighting, where a ring of orange light opened in midair and a dark humanoid figure stepped through before the doorway snapped shut.Perhaps most disturbing is our exploration of the Hitchhiker Effect, a phenomenon in which the horrors of Skinwalker Ranch appear to follow visitors home.Researchers, their family members, and even their neighbors reported identical paranormal events hundreds of miles from the property. We examine the physical toll linked to these experiences, including chronic blood diseases, neurological symptoms, and radiation exposure that left some investigators permanently harmed. From there, we move into the halls of government. Defense Intelligence Agency scientist James Lacatski's visit to the ranch helped spark a $22 million Pentagon program known as AAWSAP.We reveal how U.S. Senator Harry Reid secured funding to study the unexplained, and how the 2017 New York Times exposé pushed UFOs into mainstream discourse. We conclude with the modern era under owner Brandon Fugal, whose History Channel series has documented six seasons of anomalies including UAP sightings, radiation spikes, GPS interference, and the discovery of a massive metallic anomaly buried deep beneath the ranch. We examine what investigators have found in the area known as the Triangle, where rockets are deflected by invisible forces and LIDAR imaging suggests structures that don't appear in visible light.Throughout this episode, we stay committed to factual accuracy while delivering the high-strangeness our listeners expect. Every incident described has been reported by credible witnesses, and many were investigated by government-linked teams. We present skeptical perspectives alongside extraordinary claims, letting you decide what may be happening in that remote corner of Utah. This episode runs approximately one hour and draws from the original Deseret News reporting (1996), Hunt for the Skinwalker by Colm Kelleher and George Knapp, Skinwalkers at the Pentagon by Kelleher, Knapp, and James Lacatski, interviews with Brandon Fugal and Dr. Travis Taylor, and documentation from the NIDS and AAWSAP investigations.Content Warning: This episode includes descriptions of animal deaths and mutilations, psychological distress, and unexplained medical phenomena. Connor Thomas and Sylvana Kelleher are here to discuss the upcoming Black Friday matchup between the Bears and the Eagles. This season, the Eagles' offense has struggled with consistency, making it crucial for them to establish a strong running game in today's contest. Connor emphasizes that without a solid ground attack, the team's chances of success will diminish significantly. Sylvana adds that the Eagles have been slow to approach the line of scrimmage, which contributed to costly penalties in their previous game against the Cowboys, hampering their overall performance.Additionally, we will explore the NFC landscape to identify potential challengers for the Eagles' top seed. Joining us for this preview are Andrew DiCecco and Tim McManus, who will provide further insights into today's game.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The Rocky Road took a trip to the Rebel County to sit down with the Godfather of Cork Boxing, Tommy Kelleher. He's been coaching for five decades and took his first steps in the sport more than 70 years ago. Tommy has coached more than 30 Irish champions and internationals and led Ireland's boxers at the 1987 and 1988 Gaelic Youths before guiding the senior team to the 1989 World Championships in Moscow, where Michael Carruth claimed a bronze medal. We hear about Tommy's boxing philosophy, how quickly he can spot the will to win in a young contender, setting a fighter's nerves before the lonely walk to the ring, coaching a young Roy Keane, impressing Christy Ring, appearing on The Young Offenders and why he's still putting his life and soul into coaching up-and-coming talents at the Glen Boxing Club on Cork's northside. Episode Notes Kelleher SAVES THE DAY for Brentford Against Manchester United. Brentford claimed one of their biggest results of the season with a 3-1 win over Manchester United, and it was an Irishman who provided the game's decisive moment. With the score at 2-1, Nathan Collins pulled down Bryan Mbeumo inside the box — a challenge that many felt warranted a red card. Bruno Fernandes stepped up, but his four-minute wait while VAR reviewed the incident appeared to rattle him. Caoimhín Kelleher, however, was ice-cool. The Corkman guessed right, palming away Fernandes's effort to swing momentum firmly in Brentford's favour. From there, United pressed for an equaliser but were punished late on as Brentford added a third. It was a statement victory for Keith Andrews, whose appointment was doubted in some quarters but who has now overseen wins over United, Chelsea, and Aston Villa. Kelleher's performance underlined his growing stature at club and international level. Once considered Liverpool's understudy, he is now Brentford's number one and Ireland's undisputed first-choice goalkeeper. Nathan Collins, meanwhile, will reflect on another error, following a run of unsteady form for both club and country. While his ceiling remains high, consistency is becoming a concern. Elsewhere, Evan Ferguson continues to adapt to life at Roma. Though yet to score in Serie A, the teenager's all-round play has impressed. His manager's belief suggests it is only a matter of time before the goals come. In Scotland, Liam Scales is thriving at Celtic, forcing his way into the starting XI and making a strong case to partner Collins for Ireland. There was mixed news for Ireland's goalkeepers. Gavin Bazunu was dropped by Southampton, raising fresh doubts about his club future, while Jason Knight's remarkable run of consecutive 90-minute Championship appearances ended at 65 games. For Andrews and Brentford, though, the headlines belong to Kelleher. His penalty save didn't just deny United a way back into the game — it cemented his reputation as one of the Premier League's most reliable stoppers and a cornerstone for both club and country. A disastrous night in Yerevan has left Ireland's World Cup hopes in tatters. Despite Evan Ferguson's fine finish, Armenia capitalised on defensive errors and midfield gaps to seal a famous win. Kelleher impressed, but sloppy play, poor pressing, and a soft penalty proved costly. Cecil John Rhodes became one of the most influential people in the history of the British Empire. He made a fortune in South Africa by leading the world's most important diamond mining company, De Beers, as well as a gold-mining concern called Consolidated Gold Fields. While he was a busy entrepreneur, he was also a member of the Cape Colony's legislature and served as prime minister from 1890 to 1896, a key period for the development of racial discrimination. His British South Africa Company was given a charter to govern what is today Zambia and Zimbabwe. His most famous legacy is the Rhodes Trust, which funds the Rhodes Scholarships at Oxford University. A complex figure, admired and detested in his own time, Rhodes dreamt to unite Southern Africa's colonies and republics into one state, dominated by white settlers, with labor provided by Black people who were constrained and pressured by discriminatory laws. He built his wealth on the backs of African migrant laborers, for whom he had little regard. His British South Africa Company was accused of fraud. And in 1895 and 1896, he famously encouraged a failed plot to overthrow the independent Boer republic in the Transvaal. Rhodes' coup helped to precipitate the South African War, which started in 1899 and ended in 1902, the year of Rhodes' death. This authoritative biography focuses on the relationship between Rhodes' well-known activities in business and politics and the development of Southern Africa's infrastructure, most famously his plan for a Cape-to-Cairo railway. Rhodes envisioned a region where racism became embedded in the mining, farming, communication, and transportation industries. He pursued this vision in the face of opposition from many quarters. Understanding the extent of Rhodes' activities helps us to understand the challenges of modern Africa and the recent Rhodes Must Fall movement. A critical analysis of this contested figure, The Colonialist: The Vision of Cecil Rhodes (Oxford University Press, 2025) offers an original portrait of a crucial figure of his era.
