Have you ever thought to yourself “This FIFA corporation sure gets a bad wrap, I wish they had a movie where they looked good”. Well I sure can bet that this movie will disappoint but still check out this episode where we go over some good ol' fashioned propaganda.

It's another solo episode today as Andy has been struck down by a virus, so in this shorter mini episode Alex discusses the film 'United Passions' from 2014. A largely self funded FIFA propaganda film, what better way is there to commemorate the start of the 2022 World Cup? I mean, thank goodness this is only a short episode as there probably isn't 90 minutes worth of discussion to be had about this film it's that misguided. Anyway, Alex watched it so you don't have to.
On this episode of Ki-no thanks, Jack and Stephen are joined by Josh to talk about United Passions, the FIFA propaganda movie that... isn't very good! Josh helps to contextualise this film, what it is trying to do, how it fails, and who any of these people even ARE. Sam Neil, Tim Roth, and the incomparable Gérard Depardieu, what could possibly go wrong? Offside. Red card. Own goal. Just another pitiful movie from the Letterboxd anti-250! May 27th, 2015. An FBI sting operation took place in a small hotel room in Zurich, Switzerland. Nine FIFA officials were arrested and indicted on corruption charges. Just a few weeks later, on June 5th, the FIFA biography United Passions graced ten lucky theaters in the United States. After earning under $169,000 at the box office off of it's $32 million dollar budget, FIFA faced not just box office disaster but legal turmoil. Under the iron fist of Sepp Blatter, the president of FIFA at the time, the soccer organization was as well know for bribery and corruption as it was for soccer and the World Cup. Unfortunately, none of that is discussed and explained in FIFA's self produced biography film United Passions. This week, freelance writer, stand up comic and avid fan of "The Footie" Kevin Hall joins Liam in what could only be described as "one of the worst films either of them has ever seen." The two sit down and discuss everything FIFA is too scared to talk about. The bribes, the investigations, the slave labor, the sexual harassment allegations, Sepp Blatter's terrible tenure as FIFA president, Gerard Depardieu being the absolute worst and so much more. Lace up those cleats and score some penalty goals. It's United Passions here... on BOMBED! ... WHO MAKES A SPORTS MOVIE ABOUT EXECUTIVES?!?! In a lighter episode, we sat down with the guys from the Field of Screens pod to discuss the infamous FIFA propaganda film, United Passions. Recorded on the Monday of the ill fated SuperLeague attempt, we looked for some beauty in the story of a few men, who's only dream was that the whole world would play football by the same rules and regulations. Seriously. We discussed what exactly they were trying to achieve with this project, how Tim Roth got Sepp Blatter's walk down and whether commercial deals are in fact the most exciting aspect of the beautiful game. On this journey there were laughs aplenty along with a lot of pain as we tried to understand this ridiculous film. Hosted by Andrew Quinn and Darren Mooney, The 250 is a (mostly) weekly trip through some of the best (and worst) movies ever made, as voted for by Internet Movie Database Users. This week, to mark the podcast's two-year anniversary and passing the one-hundred-episode threshold, we decided to bring back as many of the guests from the second year as possible. So, joining Andrew and Darren on this podcast are: Tony Black, who recorded Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and Avengers: Infinity War Marianne Cassidy, who recorded Wonder Woman, Your Name, Grave of the Fireflies, My Neighbour Totoro and Incredibles 2 Jay Coyle, who recorded Dunkirk, Blade Runner 2049, Tangerines and Inception Ronan Doyle, who recorded Tangerines Grace Duffy, who recorded Get Out, Ah-ga-ssi (The Handmaiden), The Force Awakens, Singin' in the Rain, Touch of Evil and Inception Luke Dunne, who recorded Mission: Impossible - Fallout Jack Hodges, who recorded Into the Wild Charlene Lydon, who recorded The Shawshank Redemption, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Touch of Evil Babu Patel, who recorded Lagaan, Dangal, United Passions, PK and Rang de Basanti Giovanna Rampazzo, who recorded Lagaan, Dangal, PK and Rang de Basanti Carl Sweeney, who recorded Double Indemnity Alex Towers, who recorded Braveheart, Barry Lyndon and Inception We thought we'd take the opportunity to have a talk about the best and worst of this list, both in general and over the past year, with particular emphasis on the changes that the IMDb made to their rankings of the worst films ever made back in July.
Who says the World Cup has to end with the finals? Let's send this year's series of exciting football matches off by remembering how FIFA is to be nothing short of praised for their immaculate history and purest intent.
Landing in your ears 24 hours earlier than normal, this week we bring you our long-awaited review of "United Passions", the movie financed by FIFA during the peak of the corruption scandal. A perfect warm-up for today's World Cup Final, here is your chance to hear FIFA's own version of their history - with misrepresentations, stereotypes and omissions galore! We've watched it so you don't have to... but if you can find a copy see it in it's full horror for yourself...
Hosted by Andrew Quinn and Darren Mooney, and this week with special guests Chris Lavery and Babu Patel, The Bottom 100 is a subset of the fortnightly The 250 podcast, a trip through some of the worst movies ever made, as voted for by Internet Movie Database Users. The lads are back in the booth to bring you there no nonsense Regular Schmegular episode and this week we cover all the usual sections, minus 1 because they hit a snag... The Intro and Pimpage takes up about 15 minutes because Chris wants everyone to know that he filming his short this week "What you cant see" and I am his Clapper guy. Then its News time where we address the Harvey Weinstein in the room, talk about the Justice League run time that has us both a bit worried and Star Trek: Discovery has been renewed for a second season. Just the Pilot is Netflix show Mindhunter and Chris has not done his homework.. Shoddy What have we been watching is a veritable Smorgasboard of Movie, Tv and a Game makes an appearance as the lads talk... Atomic Blonde Walking Dead S8 Premiere Star Trek: Discovery Brawl in Cell Block 99 To name a few... No Zero Per-center this week due to both of us not being able to find the FIFA movie United Passions so we have swapped that out for Brit flick The Anomaly for the next Episode. We wrap up with our Top5 movies we absolutely love but for whatever reason, rarely watch... With a round table of Poop Shoots.
Hosts Gabe Lezra and Evan Mateer are joined by fillmmaker (and Gabe's brother) Nat Lezra and Eleanor Erney to discuss the absolutely unwatchable disaster FIFA propaganda film United Passions. United Passions is one of the worst movies ever made, released only days before the FIFA corruption scandal (and named after a softcore ) and completely critically panned. The group dives into the plot of the film, breaking down every single element of this fucking unwatchable film--including all the racism, sexism, and general whitewashing. Normal shows resume Tuesdays!

Who thought it would be a good idea to make a movie about soccer executives? Apparently Sepp Blatter and the brilliant minds at FIFA. Learn the exciting story of how coca cola and Adidas became sponsors of FIFA! Dazzle at a group of drunk Europeans try to get the evil British to let them make up the rules and regulations of Soccer. Marvel at Gerard Depardieu's buttnose! A movie where producer Sepp Blatter makes himself a hero that is staunchly anti corruption which came out the same week as the 2015 FIFA corruption scandal which eventually forced him to resign. Other Questions we had: Why does everyone look like a Dick Tracy Villain? Can girls play soccer? How did they get actors like Tim Roth, Sam Neill, and Gerard Depardieu? I guess I'd sell out for a million dollars.
Awright, settle down you slags. The Failed Critics Podcast is here, keep your hair on you bunch of Berkley Hunt's. Influenced by the paedo-hunting vigilante killers in the expectedly awful geezer-movie Mob Handed, hosts Steve Norman and Owen Hughes are up to no good with their partner in crime, Callum Petch. As well as a full-on dismantling of the aforementioned since-proclaimed "worst movie" that Owen and Steve have ever made each other watch (nudging out the likes of Kill Keith, United Passions and Spice World), we also cover the news this week that the animators on Sausage Party have been dicked on. Or.. weinered on? Anyway. We also have reviews of the first ever entry into the expanded DC universe* with Wes Craven's 1980's cult creature feature, Swamp Thing (*that's a joke), the bizarre / wonderful / strange / odd / quirky / surreal / [delete as applicable] film The Lobster, plus Callum deals a blow for nostalgia as it turns out that Highlander isn't actually all that good, really. The podcast gets back on the straight and narrow this week as Tony Black is joined by best friends/reprobates Matt Latham & Matt Dawson for an unofficial Worst Movie Ever episode. Latham and Tony explain why they love THE ROOM, Tommy Wiseau's terrible 'drama', which Dawson hates... They chew into the recognised Worst Films Ever, taking recommendations from the great and good of Twitter & Facebook. Before on the recommendation of Daily Mirror's Paul Field, they look at UNITED PASSIONS, the FIFA biopic which Dawson attempts to defend and Tony explains is a propaganda whitewash. Who'll win after 90 minutes? (not that it takes that long). Also when Latham is quizzed on his favourite film, where will he stand on the Pick a Flick leaderboard by the end?

What happens when you reunite the filthy minds of [The Mirror's film correspondent] Paul Field and Andrew Brooker on the same podcast as Steve Norman and Owen Hughes? No. It's not even Sepp Blatter at FIFA. It's actually our guest Tony Black, who is joining us from Black Hole Cinema. After an open and equal voting process, Tony won his opportunity to join us this week completely fairly. Owen's new sports car and Steve's new handbag are just mere coincidences. The quiz this week has a slightly tongue in cheek twist as the team try to defend the FIFA backed film United Passions (don't forget to let us know which one is your favourite!) As well as this, the team also discuss: the front runners for the role of Spider-Man in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe film; Owen watches Alpha Papa twice in a week; Tony takes a look at the Kickstarter backed short film Kung Fury; and Steve finally gets around to seeing 22 Jump Street. And as if all of that wasn't enough, there's even time to squeeze in reviews of Brad... See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
