West Ham United are back in the Europa League knockout stages once again! Freiburg is hardly a glamour tie, but after the initial disappointment of not drawing AC Milan subsided, there is a renewed belief among Hammers fans that we can go deep once again and hopefully repeat some of the historic scenes we witnessed the last time we were in the knockout stages of this competition. In this episode, Will speaks to Freiburg fan Michael from the Fuchsletalk podcast ahead of Thursday's away first leg in the last 16. They cover everything from the train strikes in Germany which may affect travelling Hammers fans to the Bundesliga side's likely setup and danger men. Will is heading out to Freiburg on Thursday morning and like most West Ham supporters, cannot wait to see David Moyes' mighty Irons in action on the continent once again. This is what we were promised when we were ripped from our spiritual home at Upton Park and dragged to the London Stadium so the We Are West Ham podcast will be damned if we are not going to squeeze every last drop of enjoyment out of it. Thanks for listening everyone. West Ham are massive everywhere we gooooooo! As always, thanks for listening! Remember, if you love what we do, please leave us a nice review on whatever platform you're listening on. It helps us more than you know and allows us to be found by new listeners, helping us grow even more!
A bashing in East London and stoppage time winners in two different games is the focus of this week's review of match week 24. As the big boys in England keep winning, it was up to Arsenal to maintain pace. The reverse fixture against West Ham saw the Gunners drop all three points at home. Arteta's men hoped to avoid a similar result at the London Stadium on Sunday. Elsewhere, both Spurs and Chelsea needed stoppage time winners in their matches to secure all three points. Tottenham's victory sees them eclipse Aston Villa for the fourth spot in the League table. Does Sean think that Spurs can challenge for the title? Conor Gallagher continues to carry the water for Chelsea as his brace was enough to see Chelsea over the line away at Selhurst Park. Check out this weeks review of the recent Premier League action. West Ham won the Cup in 1964, the European Cup Winners Cup in 1965 and, according to Alf Garnett, the World Cup in 1966. They were a stylish, attractive and at the time a victorious team in those mid 1960s but they never kicked on and those three World Cup heroes eventually left Upton Park in a disappointing anti-climax, not having won anything else at club level. For years though they were everyone's second favourite team. Colin Shindler, Jon Holmes and Patrick Barclay try to explain that anomaly and whether in the Premier League era the old West Ham traditions are still visible. Learn more about your ad choices. So this is it. The last time James and Will sit down to chat before West Ham embark on a first European final for 47 years. The next time you hear from us, we could either be Europa Conference League champions and looking ahead to another campaign of Europa League football. Or we could be entering a summer of unknown, with key players potentially looking for an exit due to defeat and a lack of continental competition for them to showcase their talents. Amongst all the excitement, anticipation and nerves, this game does represent something of a crossroads for the club. If we win it further cements our place in Europa and makes us a far more attractive proposition when it comes to summer recruitment. Lose, it there's the risk that we lose a number of key players and slip back into mid-table obscurity. The latter doesn't bear thinking about right now, because don't forget what we're currently experiencing is exactly what the club promised the fans when they forced us away from Upton Park and relocated us to Stratford. This was the deal. Move away from our spiritual home in return for a better football team regularly competing in Europe and for trophies. So losing out on the chance to compete again in Europe does come with the risk of us slipping back to a stage where the club stops holding up their side of the deal. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Also on this week's pod, Lorenzo Lepore from the SpaceViola Fiorentina Podcast joins us to give everyone the full lowdown on what to expect against his beloved Fiorentina on Wednesday night, while James and Will mull over all the headlines in the build-up to the club's biggest game since the 2006 FA Cup final. The next time you hear from us will be later this week in Prague - we'll be doing a reaction special on Thursday. Hopefully, we'll be celebrating! It's another brilliant pod, so get your ears around it and get behind the lads for the last few weeks of the season!
We go back to August 2011, when Leeds United headed to Upton Park for the final time and faced a Hammers side managed by Sam Allardyce.
The Official Coleraine Podcast was delighted to welcome former player Graeme Philson on this week's show. The L/Derry native made his way up through the ranks at The Showgrounds and made his debut at the end of the 1991/92 season. Graeme spoke about that experience, playing under an influx of managers during his time at Coleraine and the move to West Ham United. The show - sponsored by Radio Taxis - also discusses Graeme's support of Wolves, playing in a Cup tie after a full stomach and his current role at H&W Welders. Hosted by Damian Mullan and Johnny McNabb, the trio also speak about the Stripes' wins against Dungannon Swifts and Cliftonville ahead of this weekend's clash against Crusaders.

How did Gazza shock holiday makers at a hotel during the World Cup? Did Brian Clough have his favourites at Nottingham Forest and what was it really like playing for West Ham under Harry Redknapp with Paolo Di Canio and Razor Ruddock? Nottingham Forest and England legend Stuart Pearce reveals all to Kammy and Ben in the latest episode of the Proper Football Podcast. He explains why he used to turn out on Sunday mornings for his mate's football team as a Russian goalkeeper called Yak Jensen and how it came to an abrupt end. He also tells the guys how he was tapped up, during a match, by the Forest physio about a move to the City Ground and an unforgettable first phone call with Brian Clough. Along the way, he reveals what a Cloughie team talk was really like and what made him a managerial genius and he takes us back to Euro 96 and why he decided to take that penalty against Spain. He also recalls his days at West Ham: what the real story was behind him trying to run off a broken leg, why he loved and hated Upton Park during his career and a game which included 9 goals and an epic Di Canio tantrum. Take a listen as Psycho takes us on an amazing journey that takes in Wealdstone, Italia 90 and even a holiday to North Korea!

West Ham United play away at Sevilla on Thursday night in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 tie. For many fans around the world that may seem a trivial, even boring achievement. Not for West Ham. For true supporters of West Ham United, those who have endured so much, for so long, Thursday's game represents something they have for decades deserved. For the years under Allardyce and Grant, the heartbroken days where we were torn away from Upton Park against our will, the shite transfer windows, the empty promises and the seemingly endless tripe about how next season will be better. It is finally better. We were promised this. We deserve this. Never forget that. The outcome is unknown. And if we progress to the last eight, we at the We Are West Ham podcast will express similar sentiments again. And if we are knocked out, we should lap these days up before demanding our club gets here again. It is our love, our passion, our belief, our long-term, long suffering support and our money which has made this club what it is. Enjoy these moments, because it's the very least we are due. Huge credit to David Moyes for getting us this far and giving us a club we can be proud of. Long live David Moyes. And Long live West Ham. Come on you Irons. Op 5 mei staat voetballend Frankrijk tegenwoordig even stil.
On 31 March 2001, a young defender made his First-Team debut for Everton in a Premier League match at West Ham United. Tony Hibbert would go on to make 329 appearances for the Blues, famously without ever finding the back of the net. Little did he believe when he made his bow at Upton Park - and won a first-half penalty when he was fouled inside the box by Stuart Pearce - that he would end his career in the all-time top 30 appearance list for the Club. We caught up with Hibbert to get some of his reflections on a wonderful career – including, of course, his eventful debut and the night he DID score a goal at Goodison Park!
