#410 - Mostrare il Dietro le Quinte: ParadataQuando racconti non tanto il risultato finale, l'idea, la realizzazione, la prospettiva o il nuovo metodo che hai progettato, ma - la storia di come ci sei arrivato, cosa ti ha spinto, che passi hai fatto, che errori ti hanno fermato e via dicendo, crei così tanto valore se non più dell'idea stessa. C'è un piccolo docu-film “Hearts of Darkness” che la moglie di Francis Ford Coppola ha girato prima, durante e dopo la realizzazione di Apocalypse Now (1979), uno dei più grandi film degli ultimi 50 anni. Cosa ha di speciale? Mi fa apprezzare in maniera esponenziale, il film - che già adoro - dandomi la possibilità di scoprire fatti, elementi, situazioni, che aumentano la definizione con cui riesco a vedere e ad apprezzare il film. #409 - Saggia SelezioneLa "saggia selezione" (wise winnowing) è un approccio al creare e innovare attraverso l'abbondanza di alternative. In parole povere: Laddove un esperto ha accumulato un enorme quantità di dati e pattern in un certo settore specifico, sviluppando la propria capacità di saper riconoscere e individuare rapidamente ciò che conta ("intelligenza cristallizzata"), l'IA offre il perfetto complemento a questa capacità, potendo generare infinite proposte su qualsiasi tema.Ecco quindi emergere una grande opportunità per professionisti e consulenti che hanno accumulato nel tempo grandissima sensibilità e conoscenza in un campo specifico. #408 - La Mia Love Story con la CurationDa dove nasce la mia passione profonda per la curation?In realtà non è qualcosa che ho scoperto di recente, ma un'attitudine che, pian piano, senza rendermene conto, ho iniziato inconsapevolmente a sviluppare sin da piccolo.Già da bambino mi piaceva collezionare, organizzare, mettere ordine. Alle medie realizzai per scienze un grande cartellone–una vera infografica fatta a mano–in cui avevo classificato e organizzato informazioni in modo preciso e visivamente chiaro. Quel lavoro venne premiato in modo eccezionale dalla scuola, e per me fu una rivelazione: organizzare bene le informazioni aveva valore, era utile, ed era riconosciuto.La musica è stata poi il mio vero campo di allenamento. Fare il DJ, all'epoca (inizio anni '70), significava soprattutto cercare e scegliere. Passavo ore nei negozi di dischi ad ascoltare, scartare, riconoscere pattern, suoni, strutture. A casa mettevo le copertine con i dischi per terra, sul tappeto. Li spostavo, li studiavo, li riascoltavo, provavo sequenze e combinazioni diverse, immaginavo come far crescere l'energia di una serata. Senza rendermene conto stavo allenando il gusto, la capacità di scegliere e dare sensi diversi alle cose. Col tempo ho capito alcune cose fondamentali. Cercare è come pescare: richiede pazienza, presenza, e perseveranza. Più cerchi, più sviluppi antenne sensibili. Più ti esponi a materiali diversi, più aumenti la risoluzione con cui vedi e senti i dettagli. Scomporre e ricombinare elementi–musica, immagini, idee–apre possibilità che prima non vedevi nemmeno. È così che nascono sequenze più forti, racconti migliori, strutture più memorabili.Ricordo con ammirazione Super Charlie (Carlo Ceccarelli), collega DJ alla radio negli anni '70, che aveva un gusto così avanzato da proporre musica che inizialmente non capivo, ma che - mi resi conto dopo - rappresentava un livello di raffinatezza a cui aspirare. In altre parole: dedicare tempo e passione alla curation permette di vedere dettagli che sfuggono ai più, diventando una guida affidabile per gli altri.Il punto centrale è questo: la curation non è collezionare cose, ma sviluppare uno gusto raffinato.E - bada bene - il gusto non è un talento innato. Si costruisce con il tempo, l'esperienza e l'esposizione continua. #407 - New Influencer = Meta-CuratorSe oggi provi a “diventare autorevole” scrivendo l'ennesimo post brillante, lucidissimo, perfetto… ti stai mettendo a gareggiare in un campionato dove ormai giocano anche i robot. E vincono pure.E allora la domanda vera è: come ti guadagni fiducia quando contenuti ce ne sono troppi, tutti simili, tutti “ben scritti”?Io credo che la risposta sia un'altra: il nuovo influencer non è uno che scrive. È uno che cura. Anzi: uno che cura i curatori. E questa roba ha un nome: meta-curation.Quando ho iniziato a pubblicare online, nel 2000… giuro… non avevo la minima idea di quello che stavo facendo. Zero. Mi guidava solo una cosa: l'eccitazione. Quella sensazione da “wow, posso pubblicare e la gente mi legge”. Solo che c'era un problema: tutti stavano aprendo “l'ennesimo blog”. E io mi dissi una frase che mi ricordo ancora bene: “Io non voglio essere un'altra voce tra mille. Voglio costruire un posto dove si trova il meglio.” E lì ho scelto una strada diversa: non “scrivere di più”. Ma curare il meglio. Ho iniziato quindi a fare tre cose molto precise:scoprire roba utile per chi mi seguiva,mettere in evidenza il lavoro migliore di altri,creare collezioni, cataloghi, librerie che restassero utili nel tempo.E sai che cosa è successo? Che quel progetto, quel non-blog — MasterNewMedia — è diventato una rivista in più lingue, con milioni di lettori, e ottimi ritorni. Per anni. Poi… mi sono fatto fregare. Perché quando arriva il “successo”, arrivano anche i numeri, i soldi, la voglia di “ancora di più”. E lì ho iniziato a inseguire risultati senza mettere la stessa qualità, la stessa intenzione iniziale. Ho smesso di fare la guida… ho iniziato a inseguire il traffico. E il progetto, piano piano, è andato a remengo. Quella esperienza però mi ha lasciato una convinzione chiarissima: costruire autorevolezza e fiducia con la curation oggi ha ancora più senso di allora.La cosa ancor più interessante che condivido oggi, e che in pochissimi realizzano è che ci sono DUE LIVELLI distinti di CURATION. Livello 1: i “curatori primari”.Quelli che trovano cose interessanti e le condividono. And if you want to watch this lesson just look for Happy English Michael on YouTube.Today's phrasal verb is rattle off.  When you rattle something off, it means you say or list things quickly and easily - usually without stopping to think much. It's like when someone just fires off information from memory.Like, my friend Lisa is amazing with dates. You can ask her about any historical event, and she'll rattle off the exact year it happened.And my coworker Tom can rattle off ten phrasal verbs in thirty seconds - no problem at all.Here's a pronunciation tip: rattle off - ra-dl-off. The T sound of rattle  is a flap T sound, and the  L sound of links with off, so it sounds like ra-dloff.So how about you? We use these to soften what we're saying. They make a statement sound less strong, less direct — and that makes your English sound more natural in everyday conversation.For example, let's say you're tired after work. Instead of just saying, “I'm tired,” you can soften it by saying: “I'm kind of tired today.”  Or: “I'm a bit tired after work.” Here's another one. Imagine you saw a movie, but you didn't really love a it, but you don't want to sound too negative. You could say:  “That movie was sort of boring.”  It's not as harsh as, “That movie was boring.”So remember — kind of, sort of, and a bit are like little cushions for your sentences. Now, when you want to ask why in English, sure, you can just say “why.” But in everyday conversation, native speakers often use a more casual phrase: “How come?” “How come” means the same as “why,” but it sounds softer, friendlier, and very conversational. And, it's easy to use. You can use it by itself!  Like, your friend says, “I'm skipping lunch today.” You can ask, “How come?” Or your coworker says, “I can't make it to the meeting.” You can ask, “Oh really? How come?”You can also put how come in front of any sentence to make a casual question. Like, if your friend never comes to the karaoke party, you can ask, How come you don't like karaoke? Or if a coworker comes to the office late, you can ask, How come you came late this morning. How come. It's short, casual, and super natural.
