Maxwell is a pianist and knit portrait artist from Arizona. Ever since he can remember, Maxwell Eddington has been creating. Although his passion for creating beauty has led him to dabble in aquascaping, interior design, digital art, singing and sewing, his life's main artistic devotions remain knitting and playing the piano. Maxwell learned to knit while living in eastern Europe, by studying a “Teach Yourself to Knit” book in Russian, and getting tips from helpful babushki. Because of this, his knitting style and technique are heavily influenced by traditional Russian, Baltic and Scandinavian knitting. During the 14 years he has been knitting, Maxwell has made countless sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens, but was always a bit underwhelmed by the lack of artistic expression inherent in knitting clothing. This led him to a new realm of knitting tapestry-style portraits using classical colorwork techniques. He hopes to show his first collection of knit portraiture later this year. As a pianist, Maxwell has played for 26 years, and has performed across the country and in Europe. Originally trained in classical piano performance, he shifted his focus to sight reading and accompanying while in college. He has worked as a professional accompanist for singers, dancers and instrumentalists, and has made music alongside artists including Kristin Chenoweth, Billy Porter, Alex Boye, Brian Stokes Mitchel, Wrabel, Vincint, and Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons. @maxwelleddington

Meghan Trainor burst into the public consciousness with her 2014 hit “All About That Bass,” which was accompanied by a triple-platinum album and loads of subsequent success. Two more albums followed, as did judging roles on the British version of The Voice, and perhaps more important to this conversation, a singing competition called The Four, where she was on a panel with Sean Combs and DJ Khaled. That show is where Trainor first encountered the spectacular singing voice of VINCINT, who wowed her and the other judges with his incredible stylistic range, culminating in a cover of Radiohead's “Creep” that was all around the internet a couple of years ago. VINCINT has since released a bunch of songs, and he's finally ready to drop a proper debut album: There Will Be Tears is packed with what sound like future hits, and includes guest spots from Tegan and Sara, Parson James, Qveen Herby, and more. You'll be hearing a ton more from VINCINT this month and year: He's going to be on the Today Show, as you'll hear in the chat, and he's headlining HBO Max's Pride programming. Trainor is awfully busy herself, having recorded and released a holiday album during quarantine and, in bigger news, signed a huge cross-platform deal with NBCUniversal that will include a comedy series at NBC. But she was so psyched about VINCINT's album that she made some time to chat about it with him, and about their favorite songwriters, mutual acquaintances, and advice on dealing with stardom. Enjoy. There was a lot in 2020 that was just heinous and I'm happy to leave it behind. But I did want to take a pause to look at some of the good news and big moments of 2020 for LGBTQ folks. In this episode, I'm going to revisit some of the best songs, movies, TV and top LGBTQ news stories of the year (at least in my opinion). I know folks like to make Top 10 lists, but one of the hallmarks of The Randy Report is brevity - Plus, if I'm putting my name on a “Best of…” list I want to feel strongly about them. So I'm going to try to stick to Top 5's in this show. I won't give it all away but I definitely cover: • the 2020 election cycle and how it impacted LGBTQ folks • the forward progress of LGBTQ rights around the world • standing up for transgender people • films like 'Uncle Frank' and 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom • and music from terrific indie artists like Milahroy, VINCINT, mxmtoon, Robby Hart, and Jakk Fynn

Ariane Andrew and Matt Dillon meet Vincint.VINCINT is on the rise. The Los Angeles-based pop vocalist — born Vincint Cannady — first made headlines back in February 2018 with his dazzling debut on Fox's signing competition series The Four.
