Stepping back out into the world might require a supercharge of your self-confidence. Things are opening back up again (ever so slowly) and the world is finding its pace once again. But are you? Thrilled to present another all-star episode from The Simplifiers Podcast vault, this round, we are talking all about how to supercharge your self-confidence featuring a recent conversation with author Kate Eckman. We spoke in April 2021 and that conversation really stuck in my mind for ages afterward. She believes that when we take good care of our inner world, our outer world takes care of itself. All of this is rooted in research-backed strategies in neuroscience and whole-person coaching, with a specific focus on all three parts equally: mind-body-spirit. Here's how. My all-star special guest today is Kate Eckman and she's simplifying how to supercharge your self-confidence. We tackle all aspects of it, including: Why she believes we are prone to a lack of self-confidence these days, especially as women… What's underneath it all, hidden away and keeping us from what we really want in life Society puts such an emphasis on our physical bodies, to lose weight and stay healthy… why she believes it's time to focus on “shedding excess emotional and spiritual pounds” instead What “The Full Spirit Workout” is and the ten steps that'll supercharge your self-confidence from the inside out: Stretch your comfort zone Lift yourself up Feel the burn Strengthen your core confidence Build your emotional muscles Boost your mental metabolism Step up your spiritual stamina Embrace your endorphins Rock the freedom freestyle Cool down with inner calm How to strengthen your core confidence through trust and the 5 Ps Presence Patience Purpose Preparation Practice …and ultimately, how to boost your “mental metabolism” to help you shift through any mindset blocks and help you see opportunities where you once saw insurmountable hurdles. I'm so thrilled if this is the first time you've heard of Kate Eckman and her work because I'm willing to bet you'll really resonate with her story and what she's learned along the way. If you've struggled with the feeling of “not enough-ness” in your work or life, my hope is that you find the answer to break free from that vicious cycle today. And more importantly, that you remember, the key to everything you desire and the ability to supercharge your self-confidence is actually within you right here, right now. It's closer than you think… Q: Are you ready to supercharge your self-confidence? If yes, this one is for you. It's time to #DoTheThing! ---- Show notes available with all links mentioned here:https://www.thesimplifiers.com/posts/364-how-to-supercharge-your-self-confidence---with-kate-eckman-all-star

In our work as acupuncturists, we use differential diagnosis to understand the warp and woof of a patient's problem, to see how various seemingly marginally connected aspects of their problem give us the pattern that allows for skillful intervention. We also look at constitutional factors, those aspects of our patients that provide a kind of gravity and centering to their life and how they live it.Both aspects need our consideration in clinical practice. In this conversation with Peter Eckman we discuss the differences between a person's constitution and their condition. Both give us a handle on working with people, but these are very different aspects of our make up.How are they different? And how to approach work with these? Listen in, there's a lot to discuss.
As Indiana Jones and his students embark on a field trip to exotic Arizona, Sam and Brian welcome Jeff Eckman back to the show to mourn the death of a true Star Wars legend... The Acolyte. Also, we dive deep into The Twilight Zone and Shyamalan, determine what soda jerks and Double Dip Tummy Teasers are, and talk too much about modern Star Trek.
I interview Dr. Tom Eckman, Professor of New Testament Greek, on some basic understanding of the Koine Greek language. He discusses the unfortunate fact that many people (myself in the past) inadvertently bring a Western grammatical mindset to the Greek syntax and explains how that is detrimental to proper exegesis. In the late 60's and early 70's of the last century East Asian medicine began to emerge into mainstream culture. The Reston NY Times article is often cited as a catalytic moment that put the idea of Chinese acupuncture into the minds of Americans. But other streams of medicine from Japan and Korea were also finding their way into the imagination of those who would be a conduit that would help these methods to flourish in the mainstream of Western culture.Peter Eckman has been a unique bridging influence. His acupuncture came from the currents of Korea, as well as Japan and Taiwan via the Worsley tradition of England.Listen into this conversation on inquisitiveness, constitution, and how saying “yes” in pivotal moments opens up a world of possibility.

In the 68 previous episodes of the Camerosity Podcast, we've had the pleasure of talking to a wide variety of fascinating guests. We've had collectors, historians, former Kodak employees, camera repair technicians, and a variety of other bloggers and other assorted people in the industry. Each of those people were fascinating guests, but each had a special niche where their skill and experience fit in and not every listener of this might would have known who they were. In this episode however, our special guest is Mike Butkus, someone whose name should ring a bell to anyone who has ever picked up an old camera and searched for information on it online. It is impossible to collect cameras and never have stumbled upon the massive collection of cameras manuals at Mike's site. His site has over 6000 high resolution scans of manuals for film and digital cameras, flashes, exposure meters, and much more, available for everyone to view and download for free. Mike's site is not only big, but it has been around for over a quarter of a century, making it one of the oldest still operating film and digital photography sites out there. Be sure to check out Episode 69 where Anthony, Paul, Theo and Mike are joined by returning callers Ray Nason, Howard Sandler, and first time callers Brian Zeman and Jordan Berube. In addition to hearing Mike's origin story and getting a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes at the world's largest depot of camera manuals, we venture into a wide variety of other topics, such as tips and tricks to selling a large camera collection, what is everyone's favorite 6 x 9 camera, and how heavy is a Koni-Omegaflex M TLR. Theo shares a story about a camera he bought, then returned, and may one day buy again, Mike gets yelled at by a site reader for mistaking a 2¼ x 3¼ camera for a 6 x 9 camera, and Howard asks why old folding Kodaks aren't valued by collectors. Donate to Mike Butkus: For the past 25 years, Mike Butkus has run his camera manual website by himself. He buys all of the manuals he scans with his own money, he pays the hosting and domain registration fees with his own money, and he does all the scanning in his free time. All of this on a site with no ads. If you have ever found any useful information on his site, we encourage you to send him a couple bucks through PayPal. https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/butkus As always, the topics we discuss on the Camerosity Podcast are influenced by you! Please don't feel like you have to be an expert on a specific type of camera, or have the level of knowledge on par with other people on the show. We LOVE people who are into shooting or collecting cameras, no matter how long you've been doing it, so please don't consider your knowledge level to be a prerequisite for joining! The guys and I rarely know where each episode is going to go until it happens, so if you'd like to join us on a future episode, be sure to look out for our show announcements on our Camerosity Podcast Facebook page, the Camerosity Discord server, and right here on mikeeckman.com. We usually record every other Monday and announcements, along with the Zoom link are typically shared 2-3 days in advance. We had originally planned on doing a "Cameras of the 1970s" episode for number 69, but with the availability of Mike Butkus, we bumped it by one episode, so for Episode 70, we are definitely getting our disco balls out and putting our bell bottoms on and will be going over the best, the worst, and everything in between from everyone's favorite film camera decade. We will record Episode 70 on Monday, April 29th at 7pm Central Daylight Time (-5 UTC), 8pm Eastern Daylight Time (-4 UTC), and Tuesday at 10am Australian Eastern Standard Time (+10 UTC). Thank you for joining me to back at the True Crime BnB for Episode 89. Today I am taking you to Mexico City in 1958, and we are going to remember the murder of Harriet Ann Eckman Hicks. But there is a lot to remember about Harriet besides the way she was taken from her family. Harriet was a woman who made her own life and lived outside the bounds of what society expected of her in the 1950's. She was a creative, an entrepreneur, and a woman ahead of her time. She built a life that she loved, and that included solo travel as she saw fit. Unfortunately, on one of her trips to Mexico City, Mexico, she came into contact with a predator who used Mexico City as his hunting grounds and attacked or killed numerous other women. When you see furniture or decorations that are woven from pandanus leaves, you can thank Harriet for being one of the very first who popularized the style; when you see themed Christmas trees, she was one of the first to do that, too.Harriet Ann Eckman Hicks was an extraordinary person, a woman who didn't sit and wait for permission to make her life what she wanted it to be. And Harriet deserves to be remembered._______Look for episodes from True Crime BnB about every other week, still on Fridays.. . .If you enjoy our show, please share our episodes on social media--that's the greatest way to help us find new listeners.Another way is to rate and review on Apple Podcasts or GoodPods, or give us a 5-star rating on whatever platform you prefer!https://linktr.ee/TrueCrimeBnB?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=9e8aa538-d3ee-4823-b2e1-cb1625692e7aYou can find us on Instagram, X (Twitter), or Facebook @TrueCrimeBnBYou can send us an email at TrueCrimeBnBPod@gmail.comAnd lastly, thank all of you for just coming along to listen. About Kate Eckman While working for nearly a decade as a TV news anchor and reporter, I interviewed hundreds of prominent newsmakers, including President Barack Obama and Angelina Jolie. As a writer, I've contributed articles to Woman's Day Magazine, Redbook Magazine, Forbes, mindbodygreen, the Huffington Post and elephant journal, to name a few. From TV presenter it was a short hop into modeling and soon I was working as a television personality and brand ambassador. But my energy and drive wouldn't let me stay only in front of the camera, and I began moving into entrepreneurship and business, as well. I've helped multiple global beauty brands shape their vision and strategy, and I recently led the team behind the launch of QVC's first and only proprietary beauty brand, which made more than four million dollars in sales on its first day. All of these experiences have made me who I am today and inform my strategy for helping students and clients find their path to success, within and without.

I've got a question for all of you. How is morale at work do you seem to be thriving or do you feel as though there is more work to do? According to Gallup's State of the Global Workplace Report, roughly 7 in 10 employees are struggling or suffering rather than thriving in their overall lives. This is a startling statistic, and while not necessarily surprising given the state of the world during the Covid-19 era, it is nevertheless a serious wake-up call. Prioritizing the wellbeing of people is no longer a nice-to-have goal, it is now a significant differentiating factor of high performing leaders and organizations. As the Gallup report so eloquently stated, “suffering destroys human spirit that drives innovation”, and “the most successful organizations in the future will not only generate profits, but also will generate thriving employees who are able capable of weathering crises.” As an Executive Coach, keynote Speaker and Author Kate Eckman empowers high-achieving individuals to actualize their full potential. She leverages her experience as a well-known communications, performance and mindfulness expert, accomplished entrepreneur, and elite athlete to equip leaders with the tools, methodology, and energetic boost they need to excel at the game of life. With a results-driven approach rooted in neuroscience, positive psychology, and whole-person coaching techniques, Kate helps her clients succeed in and out of the boardroom and on and off the field. She guides them to identify who they are beneath their titles and labels, clarity their priorities and values, and then co-create a game plan to get them from where they are now to where they most want to be … adding in some fun and humor along the way. Kate incorporates a mind-body-spirit approach into her coaching engagements, recognizing that when we take care of our inner world, our outer world takes care of itself. Clients report that working with Kate leads to greater focus, energy and presence; increased performance and resilience; more meaningful relationships and newfound confidence; and greater well-being and true fulfillment. As someone who is known to thousands as a broadcast journalist and an international TV personality, Kate understands the pressures and demands to be always “on,” perform at a high level and be an exceptional team player. She brings that high-level presence, professionalism, and infectious enthusiasm to each coaching engagement. She joined me this week to tell me more. Heart Failure (HF)- Can occur without congestion or fluid retention - Characterized by fatigue, fluid retention, SOB, PND, orthopnea - We should consider the same urgency for heart failure as patients with CAD and CA. Heart Failure Preserved/Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFpEF/HFrEF)- HFpEF is a Preserved Ejcetion Fraction over about 50% - HFpEF - congestive phenotype more of a fluid retention - an exercise intolerant phenotupe where the patient becomes intolerant of exercise induced dyspnea. - Pulm HTN phenotype - Increased pressure in the heart that gets transmitted to the lungs - HRrEF is Reduced EF is usually below 40% Medications- 4 classes of medications (MRAs, BB, SGLT2, ARNIs) - Treatment with mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs) has been demonstrated to improve clinical outcomes in patients with HFrEF with mild to severe symptoms and also in patients with left ventricular dysfunciton after myocardial infarction. - SGLT2 inhibitors reduced the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalizations for heart failure in a broad range of patients with heart failure, supporting their role as a foundational therapy for heart failure, irrespective of ejection fraction or care setting. - ARNI (angiotensin receptor/neprilysin inhibitor) medication is a newer treatment for heart failure. The combination of sacubitril and valsartan has helped people live longer and have a better quality of life. - Comprehensive EF therapy involves BB, ARNI, MRAs, angiotensin receptor/neprilysin inhibitors. Spironolactone, SGLT2 inhibitors. Treatment- Traditional therapy usually involves a BB and ACE inhibitor. - Currently we should be looking at comprehensive therapy when it comes to HF treatment. - STOP USING LISINOPRIL.- SGLT2 inhibitors contraindicated ketoacidosis, amputation UTI, weight loss - (SGLT2 inhibitors) DAPA-HF trial showed that dapagliflozin was superior to placebo at preventing cardiovascular deaths and heart failure events among patients with heart failure. Giulio Ferrari CSA SURVIVOR | FORENSIC JOURNALIST using BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE to catch serial predators | Biohacker | Cult Expert Growing up in a cult skews our every notion of reality. The reality I was taught was one of high mysticism, re-incarnation as punishment, good and evil spirits which were impossible to discern. While I thought I was being groomed to become the country's most powerful medium, I was being sexually abused by my mentor. At 17 I broke out of the psychological chains that kept me in the cult. It took me 20 years to muster the courage to expose the truth to the world. I had to start by the person who had been my abuser's right-hand for the last 20 years: my mother. Today we are 80+ Victims of Maury Rodrigues da Cruz, who died awaiting for trial. Using my experience as a survivor and extensive research in forensic psychology (Hare, Eckman, Newmann, Paulhus, etc), I created a protocol to identify, expose and bring to justice serial abusers. Having started alone, today I count with a team of volunteer investigators, ranging from retired NSA and CIA agents to PhDs in Artificial Intelligence and Forensic Psychology. I've worked in collaboration with networks, such as Globo TV in Brazil, producing expository content, including the exposé on "Conversa com Bial" that led to the prison of John of God. While Every single dossier we've handed to authorities has become an indictment, not everything gets published. In 2019 we were published on the cover of Brazil's largest magazines, Veja and IstoÉ, and international news agencies such as Metropoles and Vice. Three of my published articles resulted in lawsuits by the Catholic Church - all to try to censor material I published, all in vain - which I proudly wear as badges of honor. Justice doesn't exist. The only true justice would be for survivors to go back in time and never have been abused in the first place. Our work is not to seek justice, but to educate in order to prevent. To do so, we use a true hybrid of journalism, activism and science. In business, I've brought a new level of service to the pet industry and retail in general. I got into pet retail in 2001 and in 2010, after being the Chief Marketing Officer for a national chain burned me out of corporate America, I decided it was time to open my own store, where everything would be healthy for the animals - no gimmics. I couldn't deal with the hypocrisy of the industry, marketing for humans without a care for the well-being of the animals. Today we are the most awarded pet store in North Texas. The Paw Depot has been chosen best pet store in DFW and won several awards of excellence. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/frustration-unlimited/support

Have you ever wondered if the career path you were on before becoming a parent is still right for you now that you are raising your family? Our guest for this episode, Carolyn Eckman of FIT4MOM Santa Cruz, joins us to share her story and her new definition of success in motherhood. “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better weather by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson For this episode, we are joined by a very special guest. Carolyn Eckman has been our administrative assistant extraordinaire for the past 4 years and is an integral part of the production of this podcast. We have watched her and have been inspired by her evolution over the years and we are so excited to finally introduce you to her here. Like many parents, Carolyn faced a hard decision after becoming a mama. The cost of childcare was hardly offset by her salary and the trade-off of spending her days working in an office and away from her new baby caused her to adjust her compass. On her daughter's first birthday, she launched her first entrepreneurial endeavor, Rebirth Business Consulting, and never looked back. 4 years later she is the owner of 3 small businesses that she operates from her home and has found more joy, more life-balance, and more time to spend with her family. If you've been feeling the pull to make a change in your life to make more room for the things that are important to you, this is an episode you won't want to miss. Kate Eckman assumed she'd follow the rest of her family into a medical career. Quickly, however, she realized the path wasn't for her and she turned to journalism. Eckman's career took her from red-carpet reporting in Hollywood to covering politics in DC, courts in Chicago, and even wildlife in Florida and Africa. When she moved to New York for a television job, Eckman was forced to reinvent–and quickly–after the job unexpectedly fell through just one week later. Being in New York City allowed Eckman, who happened to meet the physical qualifications, to begin modeling for the plus size industry, which brought her face-to-face with her own insecurities about body image. In her conversation with CoveyClub founder, Lesley Jane Seymour, Eckman explains exactly how the trajectory of her life was changed by loss and spiritual upheaval and how it finally led to her telling her story in a book. Stepping back out into the world might require a supercharge of your self-confidence. Things are opening back up again (ever so slowly) and the world is finding it's pace once again. Here's how. My special guest today is Kate Eckman and she's simplifying how to supercharge your self-confidence. ---- Show notes available with all LINKS mentioned here: https://thesimplifiers.com/podcast/kate-eckman-supercharge-your-self-confidence-replay
