Jodie Knight is a songwriter, vocalist and producer from Glasgow, Scotland now based in London. Her music draws influences from artists such as Chelsea Cutler, Ben Howard, and Holly Humberstone - very lyrically driven songs with strong, emotional melodies. In 2018 she opened for Rick Astley on 2 nights of his UK tour, and in 2022 she opened for the Scotland V Argentina game at Murrayfield Stadium (67,000). She has supported Texas in Quaglino's in London, played a sold out Sofar Sounds in The Ministry & performed at the infamous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Bar in 2023. In 2021 she graduated from Sir Paul McCartney's performing arts university LIPA, with a first class honours degree in songwriting & production and since then has used her skills to work with producers and writers from all over the world. “Jodie Knight is an expert at whether it's her own sad girl kind of pop, or whether she's supplying a vocal feature on a huge, huge dance banger. She has proven time and time again how versatile her voice is and I reckon in a couple of years time she's going to be one of BBC Introducing's major new success stories.” - Phoebe & Shereen, BBC Introducing Scotland.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Sam MacPherson Zoom video!Renowned LA by-way-of New Jersey singer-songwriter Sam MacPherson is excited to announce that his sophomore EP Powerlines will be released on Friday, April 14 via Elektra Records. In celebration of the forthcoming effort, MacPherson today released “Stretch,” a cathartic and introspective new single about finding love, that will appear on the record (full tracklist below). Taking flight on shimmering keys with a hypnotic hook, the song showcases a more upbeat side of the artist's sound. “‘Stretch' is about looking inwards, and realizing your capacity for love and human emotion,” MacPherson commented. The theme of longing for love and connection can be found throughout Powerlines; the 8-track EP's title is a nod to how (literal) powerlines are able to keep us in touch with the people we love.In support of the new offering, MacPherson be kicking off his first-ever headline tour across the U.S. this spring. Titled for the EP's namesake, the “Powerlines Tour” commences in Washington, D.C. on Monday, April 17, and hits in major cities including New York, Boston, Nashville, and San Francisco, before wrapping in Los Angeles on Friday, May 19, with a special show the famed Troubadour. Tickets are currently on-sale on MacPherson's official website, and a full itinerary of shows can be found below. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix, Arizona from March 3-4. M3F donates 100% of festival proceeds to charity with a record $1.2 million donated last year and $4.4 million donated since 2004.Beyond the lineup, M3F has also announced the launch of its new M3F Fund. Expanding on their current charity focus, the festival has opened up funding to the public by offering an open application to non-profit or 501(c)(3) organizations that have clear objectives and a measurable way to assess progress. All organizations must submit a detailed plan of the requested amount of funding and how it will be allocated and a project timeline. The festival prioritizes funding related to the four primary pillars of its organization, which are Community, Education, Arts, and Environment. This expanded approach also provides more transparency to attendees with an updated process that requires organizations to provide a more detailed list of how they intend to use the funds, following up throughout the year to check in on where donations went to and creating a short video that details how the money was spent once. Attendees also play a key role in the M3F Fund. When fans buy a ticket to have a great time with their friends, they are also giving back to the community around them.M3F's lineup will once again bring together an eclectic group of artists across the worlds of indie, pop, R&B, electronic, and more. This includes the beloved Grammy-nominated vocalist Maggie Rogers, forward-thinking English beatmaker and producer Jamie xx, French electronic duo Polo & Pan, Detroit singer Quinn XCII, and the off-kilter sounds of the multi-talented Toro y Moi.Additional highlights include and German disco & house producer Purple Disco Machine, Mom + Pop signee Ashe, Nashville indie-rockers COIN, Connecticut pop and electronic singer Chelsea Cutler, the addicting sounds of Canadian indie favorites Peach Pit, Australian electronic producer Hayden James, Brit Awards “Best Dance Act” winner Becky Hill, and much more.Originally spawned as a team-building exercise for its producers, Wespac Construction, the festival acts as a philanthropic flagship for the City of Phoenix. The 2022 edition of M3F raised 1.2 million for charity, which doubled the amount of their previous edition in 2020. This included donations to organizations like the Music Therapy Program from Phoenix Children's Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Backline, Artist Advocacy Foundation, United Way, Arizona Helping Hands, Saving Amy, and more.M3F also partnered with Tonic to put on a block party in Phoenix to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event was free and featured music from Whethan, Surf Mesa, and thom.ko. This partnership with Tonic will see them donate $1 from every can sold in the state of Arizona during October to the Wendt Family Breast Cancer Program at St. Joseph's. Donations will ensure community members have access to the best breast cancer care possible, allowing more patients to receive life-saving treatment.Beyond music and charity, M3F also focuses its attention on sustainability with over 80% of waste being recycled each year. Guests can also enjoy an amazing variety of food and beverage offerings, art installations, and activities with more details to be announced ahead of M3F.Tickets for M3F are now on sale and can be purchased through their official website. We want to hear from you! The Deeper Dig

Noah Kahan remembers getting excited when a song he put on SoundCloud hit a thousand plays. Now, his songs have been streamed more than one billion times. Kahan's metaphorical use of “stick season,” the time between Vermont foliage and proper snow, went viral on TikTok last year and sparked covers by Zach Bryan, Chelsea Cutler, Maisie Peters and countless fans who recorded themselves strumming in their bedrooms. The album that followed, recorded in Guilford, debuted at #14 on the Billboard 200 Chart and has been Kahan's most successful to date. He performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the Kelly Clarkson Show and sold out venues coast to coast. And then, after the first leg of his tour, he returned home to the Upper Valley and the isolated, between-villages places he crystallized on his third full-length album, Stick Season. With lyrics that describe “dirt roads named after high school friends' grandfathers,” the record is, in Kahan's words, “a love letter to New England.” Turns out returning to a place you've described so candidly can feel a bit strange. He's had to reconcile his romanticized version of Vermont with the reality: He's just home, and it's cold, and he has to go outside and clean up after the dog. There's a “weirdness of existing in a place that you've just written about,” he said. Kahan is going back on tour later this month. He'll return to Vermont this summer, for two sold-out shows on the Burlington waterfront. He joined VTDigger on Zoom earlier this month.

We're speaking with Mutual Friends founder, Jesse Coren! Jesse Coren is the name behind some of your favorite artists—Jeremy Zucker, Chelsea Cutler, Quinn XCII, and ayokay. He founded Mutual Friends, a New York-based artist management company partnered with Visionary Music Group, in 2017 after a decade at dGi Management. Coren says the mission of Mutual Friends is to “bring good to the universe through art and music” and support the artists on his roster. Mutual Friends is now a team of four, but it didn't start out that way: Coren was initially the sole manager for his clientele when he started up the company and continues to expand his team. Over years of working for management companies, Coren has amassed extensive knowledge on every aspect of the music and creative industries, especially the drastic ways it's changed largely due to the rise of social media platforms. Music You're Missing spoke to Coren about social media, independent artists, work-life balance, advice for aspiring managers, philanthropy, and more. Ayokay on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 6/7/22   About Ayokay -   Alex O'Neill, aka Ayokay, is a Los Angeles-based DJ/producer known for his effusive pop, hip-hop, and R&B-influenced EDM. He scored two Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs hits, including 2016's "Kings of Summer" with Quinn XCII and 2017's "The Shine" with Chelsea Cutler before releasing his debut album, 2018's In the Shape of a Dream. An EP, We Come Alive, arrived in 2019, followed by the 2021 single "I Still Need You."   A native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Ayokay first began making music in his senior year of high school, collaborating with longtime friend Mike Temrowski (aka Quinn XCII). The duo continued to develop their sound after high school, with O'Neill attending the University of Michigan and Temrowski Michigan State University.    In 2016 they released the single "Kings of Summer," which was quickly adopted as Texas Rangers outfielder Ian Desmond's "walk-up" song. The track took off (reaching number 16 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart), and helped land the duo a deal with Columbia Records. Around this time, Ayokay relocated to Los Angeles to focus on his career.    A year later he delivered the solo single "Shine," featuring singer Chelsea Cutler. It cracked the Top 50 of Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart. In 2018, he issued his full-length debut, In the Shape of a Dream, which included the singles "Sleepless Nights" featuring Nightly, and "Stay with Me" featuring Jeremy Zucker.    More tracks followed, including "Things Fall Apart," "Move On," and "Sleeping Next to You," all of which arrived in 2019. Also that year, he released the EP, We Come Alive. The single "I Still Need You" arrived in September 2021. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi   About The DJ Sessions -   “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ's/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. On this episode, I wrap up a month full of amazing queer guests with some of my own thoughts and experiences on being LGBTQ+! But first, I start by going through a visualization that I came up with this morning. **BEAUTIFUL LIFE VISUALIZATION**: play this song, close your eyes, and imagine all the things in your life that have made you and your life feel beautiful. For me I thought about frolicking in the ocean at Malibu beach, skiing down a mountain, sining in the car at the top of my lungs, dancing at a Chelsea Cutler concert, etc...take the time and space to really reach into that memory and remember what you saw, tasted, felt, and heard. Then start to mix in moments of life that you haven't experienced yet. The first thing that came to mind for me was holding my (future) kids hand and traveling somewhere I haven't been yet. Let the memories and future memories mix together and keep your eyes closed as you feel the music and your mind. Then we get into JoJo Siwa coming out on Tiktok as well as why I specifically come out as bisexual now, when I haven't in the past. (hint, it has to do with a miscommunication with my old co-worker as well as my experiences with bi-phobia and bi-erasure). Also mentioned a bunch - Avery Cyrus - Interview on Team Colour Sound on YouTube THANK YOU for every single person that takes the time to listen and join me here on my podcast each week

Hello to all of the festival fanatics out there! This week, our host Pat Tully interviewed CEO and founder of Up All Night Music Group, Josh Rothstein.  Josh is a young star in the business who got his start in the music industry as a promoter. He has held positions in Downtown Records and Atlantic Records, and his career path continued to blossom onward. Josh has experience on the road after touring with country music star Luke Bryan, and platinum recording artist MAX. During his years at Hamilton College, Josh learned that he had a knack for putting together live events; some of the names that he got on campus were Lupe Fiasco and Charli XCX. Now, as a young alum, Josh counties to give back to his alma mater in the form of live and virtual events.  These tools would later come in handy to advance Josh's career in festivals. Fast forward to November 2019, Josh Rothstein created Up All Night Music Group, “a one-stop-shop for bringing your live and virtual events to life.” Josh started this new endeavor with a few of his friends, and his girlfriend; people that Josh commends for the early success of Up All Night Music Group. So far, they have worked with a few big names in the music industry including Shaed, Penelope, and Chelsea Cutler. They have also partnered with some iconic venues like The Bowery Electric.  As of right now, the music industry has taken a major hit in live shows, a sector of the business that accounts for the bulk of revenue for artists all over the world. While it's unfortunate that COVID-19 has stalled large gatherings as a whole, Josh and his team have pivoted towards hosting virtual events, and they look forward to the return of live music as we all do.  This is yet another captivating episode from Pat Tully, and one of the top up-and-comers in the biz today. As an expert in entertainment, Josh seems to be very optimistic about festivals in the future, and it should give us all a bit of hope.    “There's a couple of artists who I've been lucky to get to know very well, who I believe in. And now, through Up All Night, we have a vehicle to do it.” - Josh Rothstein    Catch the interview on Festival Pass Stories! https://festivalpass.com/stories   You can find Josh on:    Twitter-  https://twitter.com/joshmrothstein   Facebook-  https://www.instagram.com/jmr110/   Up All Night Music Group's Website-  https://www.upallnightmusicgroup.com   Up All Night Music Group's Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/upallnight_musicgroup/   Connect with Festival Pass!   Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/getfestivalpass/   Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/festival_pass/   Twitter - https://twitter.com/pass_festival Website - https://festivalpass.com/
