EUBANK JR & THE AMBULANCE | BUATSI-PARKER DECISION | FALL OF TANK | PEAK GGG Chris Eubank Jr is doubling down on claims that his ambulance was blocked after his gruelling win over Conor Benn. What are the implications of the new footage? Last weekend, Joshua Buatsi was called the winner over Zach Parker after a forgettable 10-rounder that reignited debate over the quality of judging in the UK. We wonder if the verdict was indeed that bad. In America, the collapse of Jake Paul vs. Tank Davis was something of a relief but the accusations aimed at Davis paint a deeply concerning picture. We look ahead to Vergil Ortiz taking on Erickson Lubin and back to 2013 when, in This Week, Gennadiy Golovkin systematically broke down Curtis Stevens. A big episode this week....so the notes will be just thatThe story of the week isn't a fight. It is Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis who will no longer fight. That also means the undercard is off, and the fight week prelims featuring Jahmal Harvey are off. We give our thoughts on this. That is followed by the weekend recap including the following, Mikaela Mayer becoming a three-division world champion, defeating Mary Spencer. Mayer is clearly a Hall of Famer, and added to her legacy, Joshua Buatsi looked average against Zach Parker, honestly neither looked good, we talk about it, and Lenier Pero defeated Jordan Thompson in a fight that lacked sizzle. On that Florida-based DAZN card, Omari Jones continues to look good, and Yoelvis Gomez and Antraveous Ingram fought to a draw. The big fight of the weekend is on Saturday with Vergil Ortiz returning against Erickson Lubin. Ortiz is becoming one of the most important up-and-coming fighters, and Lubin is a lot better than people think. Both are also punchers. The undercard has some notable bouts, including Darius Fulghum taking on David Stevens. It is a battle of former sparring partners who are both signed by Golden Boy Promotions. Middleweight Amari Jones make his Golden Boy Promotions debut, cruiserweight Robin Safar is featured on the card and heavyweight U.S. Olympian Joshua Edwards will be on the card, too. Also, on Friday, ProBox TV returns with a good one Nicklaus Flaz and Tiger Johnson face each other in a welterweight contender bout. To me, this creates a top-five contender in the thin division. Junior lightweight Dominic Valle returns in a 10-round bout. He is a top prospect/fringe contender, and Katsuma Akitsugi will face Vincent Astrolabio in a good contender bout. Also on DAZN, Friday night, Justin Figueroa and Otto Wallin will be featured. They will be in separate bouts. Ade and Gareth unpack a disappointing fight between Joshua Buatsi and Zach Parker and ask if the right man had his hand raised at the end, we hear also from Parker who tells us he is considering an appeal to the WBA following the result.Elsewhere we take a look Eubank Jnr vs Benn, Eubank has begun his mind games by posting footage of his ambulance following the first fight between the pair. We discuss his link up with Bo Mac as well and what impact he could have Plus, there has been TWO cancelled fight cards, Chisora vs Whyte III is off as is Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis Hosted on Acast. I didn't see this coming, nor did many. Fabio Wardley stops Joseph Parker. WOW! Hear our thoughts on the stoppage, plus Dakota goes on a rant about Parker not getting a chance against a champion. We don't have much to say about he undercard as well. We also talk about Joshua Pagan's impressive win over Maliek Montgomery on DAZN Thursday night. On Thursday, Mikaela Mayer faces junior middleweight beltholder Mary Spencer for the title. The bout will be streamed and we will explain how to watch. It has a good undercard with Arthur Biyarslanov taking on Sergey Lipinets, and Wilkens Mathieu facing Shakeel Phinn as noteworthy bouts. On Saturday, we have two fight cards, one in the U.S. and one in Europe. In the U.K., Joshua Buatsi will face Zach Parker in a light heavyweight contender bout, and Bradley Rea will fight Lyndon Arthur in a light heavyweight bout. In the U.S., rising heavyweight contender Lenier Pero will face Jordan Thompson. Thompson is moving up after being stopped by Jai Opetaia. Pero could be a real force. Other fights, a crossroads junior middleweight bout between Yoelvis Gomez against Antraveous Ingram. Cruiserweight Pat Brown will face fringe contender Felix Valera in an interesting bout. Junior middleweight Olympians Nishant Dev and Omari Jones will both fight on the undercard in separate bouts. This time it's against our very own John Ryder 32-5 (18KOs) who has forced his way into this position and has been on a career resurgence having fights with Callum Smith, Danny Jacobs, and Zach Parker in recent years. This is his top-of-the-mountain moment, but can he topple the mighty Mexican who some say is not the same fighter any more despite still being number one in the division? We look ahead to the fight and assess the chances of John Ryder and look at where Canelo is at and whether there could be a shock on the cards! Also on the show we cover the Boxxer promoted card on the same night as Joshua Buatsi faces undefeated Pawel Stepian and we see the first female British title fight as 2020 Olympian Lauren Price takes on Kirstie Bavington. The “lineal” champion is back in action and the lil guys run it back for a third time. Tyson Fury defends his portion of the heavyweight crown, as he faces an undeserving Derek Chisora in the UK for a third time. While Juan Estrada and Roman Gonzalez look to settle their rivalry in Phoenix. Fight breaks and picks for both. Regis Prograis stopped Jose Zepeda to capture the WBC belt at 140. After his win, is he the most dangerous man in the division? Zach Parker breaks his hand and John Ryder gets a technical decision. Does this win punch Ryder's ticket in the Canelo Sweepstakes?
Dillian Whyte vs Jermain Franklin ends in a majority decision for the home fighter and social media explodes with the term 'robbery' plastered everywhere. We pick the bones out of the scoring as well as reviewing the fight and the night as a whole. Theres also another that nobody is really too interested in. We discuss both as well as a super welterweight British title fight that is a real diamond in though rough. Steve records the pod from the press conference ahead of Dillian Whyte's heavyweight bout against Jermaine Franklin this weekend at Wembley. After a scuffle during the head-to-head, Steve speaks to a tetchy Dillian Whyte and promoter Eddie Hearn who witnessed the fracas close up. Jermaine Franklin and his promoter Dmitry Salita also join Steve, as do Fabio Wardley and Nathan Gorman who are fighting for the British Heavyweight title. And ahead of the other big fight of the weekend at the O2, John Ryder and Zach Parker look ahead to their bout. This episode does contain some bad language that has been bleeped out.
While it's Thanksgiving here in the USA, boxing doesn't stop. This week I'll preview Dillian Whyte's return to the ring. Since when is announcing a framework for a fight an actual fight announcement? Tank vs Ryan isn't as much of done deal as they will lead you to believe. Also on tap Teo get new opponent Beterbiev and Yarde have date Crawford undercard looks weird
IF you can tear yourself away from the World Cup coverage taking place in Qatar, there's feast of boxing action taking place throughout the weekend. The main focus is the excellent showdown between Zach Parker and John Ryder, with an explanation on why that contest was not the main cover image for this week's Boxing News. The return of Dillian Whyte, the bill at Ally Pally and the Prograis-Zepeda contest are also previewed. On episode 338 of The Neutral Corner boxing podcast, host Michael Montero gives his thoughts on the proposed fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, who have apparently agreed to terms to fight next year in Las Vegas. He also reviews a knockout win by Jaime Munguia in yet another showcase bout. Then he previews this weekend's schedule. Zach Parker fights John Ryder and Dillian Whyte fights Jermaine Franklin, both in London, while Regis Prograis fights Jose Zepeda in California. https://youtu.be/BUeIDdI70rQ
The idea of Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia has every boxing fan chomping at the bit but in reality the 'announcement' last week is a bit of a farce and only cements where boxing is currently at. We pick through the bones of that as well as looking back at the weekends action. This Week we have a world title fight between Regis Prograis and Jose Zepeda, Dillian Whyte returns and Zach Parker entertains John Ryder at the o2. Have you ever thought of Circuit Training in your Golf Practice? Zach Parker joins On the Mark to illustrate how adopting that mindset will lead to greater and quicker gains. Zach Parker is a Golf Digest "Best Young Teacher in America" who trains golfers with drills allowing them to learn, feel and immediately apply changes to their golf-swings. His approach allows the golfer to learn through getting them "behind the wheel" to experience and internalize a mind-body connection of the most effective motion for them. He essentially empowers the golfer to drive the car, and not sit in the passenger seat as they learn. Zach discusses: How to Practice and the Skills Required, Planning and Reflection, Good Questions for Improvement, Timing/Spacing during Practice for Recall and Retention, Dealing with Adversity, PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular) Training, and Habits and Drills to Move Emotions from Negative to Positive. Zach also uses PGA TOUR examples to galvanize his arguments. Upgrade your Practice and Lower your scores... Download now!
