Choosing the Right MLM company   “In a lot of Network Marketing companies you've got a couple people that feel like they're making a lot of money and then the masses that just aren't making anything.”   Zane Gray     So many people ask Brooke questions like, “what company should I join? I don't know if I'm with the right company, how do I choose the right company?” In today's Podcast, 171, Brooke talks about where network marketing is going, how to choose a company and what things to look for.    Brooke's guest is Zane Gray who has created a very different company from everything else that's out there. His company looks differently at the industry and he's creating something that is really for the 21st century.    “Sometimes network marketing is like a dirty word .” Zane Gray   Zane explains that when he was looking at network marketing companies the reason people join is they want to get the product, maybe the discount, but they aren't really wanting to go out selling it.    There's a couple reasons for that. In Zane's opinion the  number one reason is oftentimes the product isn't priced right.  Second thing is you have a product or something that people would buy.   Zane created a company where if you refer people and they buy, you're gonna make a really good income, a really good commission basically. But he also said, if you do wanna build a team, I wanna pay you to build a team as well. And he just tried to marry those two worlds together. His philosophy is to give customers a reason to come back. His company gives them an opportunity just if they'll share, they actually can get cash back too. That is theirs. And they don't have to sign up to be a rep.    Zane has a training course that teaches his reps to be endo coaches to help their customers live an endo balanced life.   “An important thing in business as well is being able to target your specific people.” - Zane Gray   If you would like to know more about Zane's new company and what it is all about, check out www.sucavu.com.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Building a Personal Brand is easier than you think “A personal brand is so much more than trying to sell yourself.”   Tacie Avedikian     In Podcast 169 Brooke has a conversation with Tacie Avedikian on a topic that is something that so many network marketers need. That topic is personal branding.   Tacie has always been interested in people and marketing and wanted to help people build their business brand, advertisements and do media buys. When she got into the marketing field she started doing more market research. She loved understanding the why behind the marketing that we were actually choosing for our clients   “Having your brand really changes the whole dynamic of how you do business.” Tacie Avedikian Having an understanding of your personal brand paints a nice picture for everybody that you're working with.  It also provides a comfort for you and knowing that you know exactly what you're doing and how you want to help people. Building a personal brand is not as hard as people think. It's really just having an idea of what it is that you are doing, how you want to do it, who you want to be able to work with and who you want to help.    It's important to create a digital presence. Find those platforms that your ideal audiences are on and just show them a piece of who you are and how that has led to where you are and what you're doing today.  You want to be engaging. You don't want everything to be about you or just what's happening on your page. You want to show that you are in fact a good connection to be networking with and a good connection to have.   “Putting yourself out there and also giving back to those who are willing to connect with you is definitely key and it changes the whole dynamic of a relationship.” - Tacie Avedikian   If you would like to connect with Tacie and find out more of her tips on how to build your personal brand, you can reach out to her on LinkedIn   https://www.linkedin.com/in/tavedikian/. How to Cold Message People Properly   “Create real relationships rather than just copy and paste and spam people. ”   Brooke Elder     Today's Podcast 168 brings another episode of The Spam Squad where Brooke takes spammy messages that other people have sent and breaks them down and talks about why they are spammy.   After she dissects the message Brooke shows a better way to send messages, because you don't need to be spammy to grow your business. Today she talks about how to cold message people.   “Cold reach-outs are still good, but you have to find something in common.” Brooke Elder   Having something in common is more than jus,  “Oh, I see you have a dog. I have a dog too. You want to buy my stuff?”     You need to find people that have a problem that you have that solution for - your products, your opportunity. They also a problem. So you are only going to talk to people who have the problem that you solve.   When you market to everyone, you market to no one, remember that your company is not for everyone with skin or everyone with a nose or everyone that is breathing. That's not who it's for. It's for what problem do you solve that you can help people with that is who you market to.    Once you understand that, then you can start looking for those people and you can start looking for them in other Facebook groups and add them as friends.    Then when you start posting on your personal page about how someone had this problem and you help them solve it, and that's the nature of your posts, they're going to see that and reach out to you to solve their problem!   “The basics of arrows out marketing is looking at how you can serve people and how you can solve problems.” - Brooke Elder   Check out some of Brooke's other Spam Squad episodes to learn more tips on how to not be Spammy when you are posting...and remember….      So You Want to Start A Side Hustle   “Find the people who have the lifestyle that you want and really tap into how they think.”   Craig Clickner       Today's Podcast is number 167. Brooke has a meaningful conversation with a Midwestern husband & wife duo, Craig Clickner & Carrie Bohlig. They realized that if they wanted to create an exceptional life with choices and autonomy, they had to go out of bounds on the mainstream “go to school and get a good job” adage. Since they were not hardcore enough to quit their jobs and attempt to gut out a startup, they instead jumped into the world of moderate entrepreneurship, meaning they started their first wave of side hustles.   Craig and Carrie talk a lot about an idea called Life Set.   “If mindset is your way of thinking, then life set is your way of living.” Craig Clickner   Mindset is like your opinions and how you think, life set is your way of living in your choices. What they have found is a lot of people are chasing the money, but the foundation is all messed up. If you don't have ongoing revenue set up it's going to be really hard to build something substantial outside of the day job.    Craig and Carrie talk about finances and family, faith, having fun and your relationships. If those areas can be in decent order, then can go build a real business on top of that. The best thing that you can do is set a good life example.  They also talk about life vision, which is like you asking yourself not what do I want to do, but how do I want to live? They have seen people in a lot of different industries who are very successful, but they didn't necessarily invest the time early on for laying a firm foundation.    Laying a firm foundation is such an important area to slow down and learn about personal develop, growing your leadership, and really live out success principles. It should really bleed and transfer into every area of your life if you're doing it well.    Some things that people can do to create that solid foundation are first get a good job, but put boundaries around it. And then don't waste time at the office. Then stop spending money on “stupid stuff.” You don't need the expensive car or gigantic house. Don't try to impress people with what you have, especially when you haven't built and created and earned it yet.    “Be smart, impress people with your thinking, impress people with your work ethic, impress people with your conviction. ” - Craig Clickner   Craig and Carrie have written a book that covers the whole spectrum from a comprehensive standpoint on how to actually build something, but not short-term and, and commission-based, but very significant in nature that actually can change your lifestyle and have a really big impact on you and your family's life.  There's a link for the book and a few free downloadables on their website, tandem consulting.co.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Get your Calendar FULL of Booked Parties   “ You've got to make sure that you're having fun and you're focused on relationships, because relationship sare where you're going to grow your business.”   Janet Parks     Brooke talks with Janet Parks in today's Podcast 166. Janet has a sales background and comes from the party plan industry. They discuss how to book parties, how to get sales and how to talk to new people.    Janet is super passionate about teaching people to get out of that fear factor and get out of their comfort zone and just go out there.     “It's 2021, Facebook parties are not dead!” Janet Parks   Janet shares her top three things that people could do and even start implementing right now so in the next month or so they can have a full calendar.   Her first tip is to incorporate video. Her number two tip is making sure that when you see something out there that's new, try it, don't discount it. Don't just try it once then get disappointed because not enough people hop on and then give up. Try up to ten times!  The third tip is to get into people's inbox. You don't have to cold message getting into people's inbox.  Just take a human approach, you don't have to be that salesy person that's spammy.  Just tell people why you're grateful for them. If you start off with gratitude, then it helps break down any of those barriers. The worst thing that you could do is send a message and people are like, what are you trying to sell me?    When Janet goes into every party, she tries to stick to a certain system called the fire system, it covers all of the bases when it comes to parties.    F is for future bookings, that should be at the top of your mind. I is for increasing sales, to have a commission in order to grow your business. R is to recruit often.  E is encourage forever customers, adding people into your ecosystem, adding people into your group, into your email list. By covering all of those bases they encompass everything that has to do with building a successful party based business.   “You can't go into Facebook parties nowadays and just make a graphic and verbiage post and expect success from that. You've got to incorporate relationship marketing. ” - Janet Parks.    If you would like to connect with Janet and learn more awesome ideas when it comes to booking parties and really just growing your party plan company, you can find her on her website or on Facebook at solutionsforsellers.com and https://www.facebook.com/groups/jpsforsellers.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! How to Reach out to Influencers to Join Your Team   “ If you are talking to influencers, you cannot use network marketing language, you need to speak in their language.”   Brooke Elder     Podcast 165 brings us another episode of the Spam Squad where Brooke breaks down an actual spammy message she found on Social Media.   It's easy as network marketers to fall into the spammy trap of copy and paste and easy to do whatever our upline is telling us. Instead let's think about this as a business, how can we actually show up to serve others? Because that's what network marketing really is all about.    “You want to create a relationship with people, especially when they are big influencers that already are running a business. ” - Brooke Elder   Don't offer a solution if people don't have that problem. When you're messaging people, you have to figure out, do they have the problem that you solve? That's how you're going to be able to connect with them. Reach out to people who are influencers, who already have an audience, but don't ever send them spammy messages because automatically they're going to be like, no, you spammy, weirdo, get out of here!   When you are messaging an influencer you might say something like, “Hey, I really love the whole feel of your feed. This was my favorite thing.” Be specific, so that way they know that you're actually listening to them or you have actually checked it out.   Then introduce yourself   and let them know you represent a company that has some really awesome products and you would love to send them some samples and get their feedback on. That's how you want to approach influencers, because they're used to that.    When you are talking about influencers, you need to talk to them in their language. So in their language you're going to talk about affiliates. You're going to talk about creating partnerships and you're going to approach them to see if they would like to try the product and then give you feedback on it. That's how you approach these people.   “Remember, spam belongs in your cupboard, not on Social Media!”  - Brooke Elder.    Your network marketing company and your products could be an amazing opportunity for them, especially if they have their own business that they're running. They are probably looking for other things that they can bring in to be able to promote to their audience, but you have to present it in the right way.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Overcoming your own expectations to Find Success   “ Everybody should just do what makes them happy, whether your family or whatever thinks otherwise.”   Kelly Cable     When people first start a business in network marketing sometimes they think it will be easy if they just follow the script and instructions from their upline. That is not so!!!! In Podcast 164 Brooke interviews Kelly Cable who is an amazing example of someone who has overcome the challenges of building a successful business.   Kelly has been in the network marketing business and started out the normal way with the emails of scripts and pictures that you're supposed to use. She did it all the spammy Tammy ways and everybody was doing great around her and she thought she must be doing something wrong because she was struggling and becoming deeper in product debt.   “It's not that I was doing something wrong necessarily, but I didn't have the right mindset. ” - Kelly Cable   The mindset shift that brings success is to meet people, to find ways to connect with them, to see what they need and what you can provide to help them as opposed to just making a sale.    Stop doing all the advertising and posting everywhere. Connect yourself to a brand and just create a presence online for yourself.    You don't have to have links posted everywhere. Just talk about your products all the time, in normal conversations and on your social media. You're not trying to get people to buy necessarily and that's the idea, people don't feel pushed.   Building a successful business takes time. There are a lot of learning lessons along the road, so you don't want to move too fast. When you move too fast, it creates more problems and challenges than you really would even think that it would. It doesn't give you that opportunity to make those small adjustments and to fail small before you fail big.   When you do have an idea for a business just go ahead and do it! Don't feel like you have to do every step in creating a legal business before you come forth with your idea because then you're kind of stuck. Don't listen to everybody by saying, don't post this or that on social media, post what you want and you're going to find those people who love you.    “Step away from caring about what people think of you and find what works for you.” - Kelly Cable.    If you would like to connect with Kelly, you can follow her on Facebook , Instagram and LinkedIn, but Facebook is definitely the best place to find and talk to her, just search her name, Kelly Cable.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Your Business must change in this ever-changing environment   “ If you really want to scale and grow beyond your initial reach, you really need to think outside the box . ”   Sherell Slaise     With Covid and the other challenges of the world the last few years the way to work a network marketing business has changed drastically. The old traditional ways of building a business are no longer successful and businesses have had to pivot.   Social gatherings and home parties are tactics of the past and online marketing has become the new norm. In today's Podcast, 163, Brooke talks with Sherell Slaise, who shares several tips on how to pivot your business.   “You still need to make a connection, even in this new online environment.” - Sherell Slaise   It's really easy to build connections in person, as you can have that back and forth conversation, you can read people's body languages, you hear their intonation and all of those things.    When you transition to online, even if you follow your same scripts or formats, or like what it is that you say in person, and you try to do that online, that doesn't always work because it lacks the connection that you're making with them. So how do you make that connection?   Everything begins and ends with your personal leadership. When you start to really understand who you are and build that confidence, you'll get the courage to talk to anyone and everyone, the way that you truly are, what you are and what you communicate.   In the content that you create online just be you and as you're being you, you'll be able to make those real connections with other people. You'll be able to sift through the noise in a crowd and find other people that hear what you're saying, because they also speak the same language.   If you're coming from your real, authentic space you create energy. You can feel that  level of energy, your level of just laid back the way you're laid back or the way that you're so honest and transparent, that energy does come across online.   “If you're consistently showing up and just being you all the time, you'll get that same energy back.” - Sherell Slaise.    If you would like to find out more about pivoting your business and having an online presence, check out Sherell's Facebook group, facebook.com/groups/LeadingWomenInNetworkMarketing. How to promote your new business without being spammy   “No one goes on Social Media to be sold to.”   Brooke Elder   Podcast 162 brings you another episode of the Spam Squad! Brooke walks through what you should and what you shouldn't do to promote your business without being spammy!!   When you first starting a network marketing business you are so excited and can't wait to tell everyone about the amazing products and the great opportunities. If you aren't careful it is easy to overload on spamminess!   “People come to social media to be entertained. They come to connect, they come to hear stories.” - Brooke Elder.   So how do you tell a compelling story? Talk about one of the products you offer and tell an example of a problem it solves. Tell your story about why you love it.   After telling your story say, “you know, I just joined this new company and here's why it was love at first sight, because this, this and this.”   Then instead of just sending them, “here's a link, just order from me,” invite them to your launch party on your Facebook group.   Teach them why it is that they actually need your product by doing five or six posts. Think of the products that you offer and tell a story in a post about each one and the problem that they solve.    When you craft a post with a personal story people feel more connected. They want to find out all it is that you have to offer because you are taking them on a journey. It's not just, here's a post. I joined a new company, buy my stuff.   “It is your job to know how to connect with your audience and to be able to help and serve them.” - Brooke Elder.    When you create an experience for people through storytelling they connect better with you and your products. When that's your focus, your marketing is going to be a hundred times more effective because you're connecting with people and you're making it about them, and they can see themselves in the story.    How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Serving Over Selling to reach a 6 Figure Business   “It doesn't matter what you sell,  if you're serving first, you'll sell it. ”   Heather Burns   In Podcast 161 Brooke has a delightful conversation with Heather Burns about one of her passions - serving authentically instead of just pushing a product.    Heather has had several successful network marketing businesses and fell in love with the mentoring aspect of the process. She is a life and success coach. She realized there was a difference between people purchasing the product and actually implementing it and using it.    “Network marketing is not just selling the product or getting people to join. It's really about creating that legacy.” - Brooke Elder.   Heather discovered that network marketing was so much more than selling a product. You're actually helping people in so many more ways than simply helping them lose weight, or whatever your product may be.   Heather really changed her focus from selling the product to really trying to focus on how she was supposed to serve people. She also thought of what else she could offer them and how she could help change their lives. When you make tan impact, the income follows.    When you're really looking at other people and how to serve them, it's  all about creating that customer experience that makes people want to keep coming back to you.    One way to create a customer experience is to send a gift with the order, , a handwritten note goes a very long way. As social media goes and that touch that we can have, that's virtual, it's being authentic and sharing your life, sharing the ups, sharing the downs and sharing your trials.  Share your mess to message, your testimony, victim to Victor, that's where people connect.    People don't relate to perfect. In fact, that makes them feel like they can't connect and that they could never have what you have or do what you do or be who you are. We all are special. We're all unique. We all have our own story. And so if you can really grasp the concept of sharing your story, because nobody has your story.   “ People come for the product or the service, they stay for the community and the relationship and the connections.” - Heather Burns   Heather's last tip is to write down the list of things that actually have changed your life. Don't leave the list until you have at least 20 things on there, that might seem like a stretch, but she promises that those are the things that people actually want. Overcoming the Anxiety of "Getting Your Name Out There"   “The thing to remember is that your anxiety is always lying to you. ”   Stephaine Lora Bearce   In Podcast 160 Brooke addresses a topic that is so needed in network marketing, because the biggest thing that she sees people struggle with is confidence in themselves and talking themselves out of doing things like stepping out of their comfort zone. Today she has a conversation with Stephaine Lora Bearce, who is an Anxiety & Empowerment Coach.   Stephanie found her passion working predominantly with entrepreneurial women with overcoming anxiety and really stepping into their power. Anxiety is a soft spot in her heart because she has personally dealt with it most of her life.   “One of the big fueling pieces for anxiety that keeps us from doing the thing is by letting it get too big.” - Stephanie Lora Bearce.   Stephanie is Queen of Baby Steps. We build these huge goals and big lists in our heads then we look at it and just shut down. The number one thing is to break the list off into tiny pieces. So much fuel for anxiety is all or nothing thinking so breaking it down into baby steps is huge.     Another tip is self awareness. You have to know what's going on inside your own head before you can catch it and fix it when you start to spiral out. Self talk is everything. Listening to the phrases that you're saying to yourself, the tone that you're using in your head when you speak to yourself, because we don't always talk very kindly to ourselves.    When it comes to self-talk you can either put an “I am statement” on something, or an “I'm feeling” something. When we wear that “I am” tag, it becomes a piece of how we define ourselves and therefore that feeling will start to come back and stay a lot longer. When we say, instead I am feeling anxious right now I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm feeling whatever, that reminds the brain that this is just a moment in time, not a place that we live and not something that we actually are at our core. One little word change can really affect the way that we think and view the world.   Once you build self-awareness  you realize that you have a choice. That's where the power piece comes from - knowing that you get to actually design the way that you go about your day.   We are not a deep breathing society because we're go, go, go, go, go. There's a lot of shallow breathing in the way that we live life. We set off the stress and all the cortisol reactions in our body that therefore ends up leading us into the anxiety response. If you can just lean into it and just take a couple deep breaths, choose a new thought, it's going to change the game for how you face the things that are causing anxiety in your life in business and how you can take action on them.    “Anxiety is just excitement without the breath.” - Stephanie Lora Bearce.    If you would like to learn more tips on overcoming anxiety and connect with Stephanie, you can find her on Facebook and Instagram, Stephanie Lora Bearce (on Instagram there are no spaces between her name). The topic of “Stop Playing Small in Your Business” is something that will change your business and yourself drastically!   The spammy message Brooke reviews is “Messaging 500 people tonight because I am done playing small who's with me?” That is not how you build a business. If you're done playing small, then it's time for YOU to step up. It's not about you going and messaging 500 people because that is so spammy tand it is going to get you kicked off of Facebook and put you into Facebook jail.    “How do you grow your business and stop playing small? It's all about goal setting and it's about who you are becoming.” - Brooke Elder   If you want to be a person that's making $10,000 a month and you are not right now, it's because you are not that person. When we are trying to achieve our goals, we have to become something different and step out of our comfort zone.   Brooke explains that some people have a very small comfort zone around them. The problem is here's your comfort zone. Your goals are clear out here. So if your goals are clear out here, how can you then reach those goals? People think, “oh, I just got to step out of my comfort zone.,I'll grab it and I'll pull it back in.” That's not how it works! We actually have to do things that are going to expand our comfort zone so it will encompass our goals and become what our goals are.    Stop playing small by gaining knowledge. We don't want to step out of our comfort zone because it's scary. It's scary because it's unknown, we don't know what that looks like. But if you just do it, you actually gain experience and when you gain experience, now it's not scary. Now you have knowledge   If you are not learning and being inspired every single day, your day is not going to be inspiring. And if you aren't inspired you aren't going to be able to inspire others.   The more that you are learning and you're putting information in, it's going to change you because it changes your thoughts. It changes the way that you think about your business. It changes the way you think about yourself. It changes the way that you think about the world. And when we are changing, we are becoming something different. So what you listen to and what you read are so important.     “How about we change us so that way we can then go and change the world.” - Brooke Elder.    We have to really expand our comfort zones. And once we expand it big enough, it will encompass our goals because we have become something different. We have changed our habits. We have changed the way that we think, we have changed our knowledge and our experience. That is the thing that's going to help reach your goals. That is the thing that's going to help you stop playing small.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Procrastination and Productivity   “Done is better than perfect.”   Brooke Elder   What is preventing you from doing something? Are you afraid you're going to fail or you're afraid you're going to succeed. Are you going to shake people's perception of you? If you go out and do that thing and are they going to not like you anymore?  These are the questions that Brooke talks about with Sophie Chiche in Podcast 158.    Over the years Sophie developed a passion for doing things that are really meaningful in a very productive way. The essence of her work is that productivity is not just doing stuff, but to make sure that the boxes that are on your list are really connected to what's important to you, to your community or to your family.    “Be deliberate about what you do and the way you spend your time.” - Sophie Chiche.   A lot of people don't see that procrastination gets in the way of their productivity. Sophie lookz at procrastination very differently than most people and has written an article about the ways that we procrastinate that are really purposeful.   One of the reasons for procrastination is you don't have enough information to finish the task. If you don't have all of the pieces to begin with, the task is impossible to complete. People then feel like they have failed. That's not the case, there just wasn't enough information to begin with.   Then there is the perfectionist. The perfectionist doesn't put out things unless it is perfect. Every time they reach a level of perfection they are like, what else could I do to make it even better and even better and even better. So the don't put out the work,  they don't put out anything because it's not perfect.   Another way people procrastinate is they commit to too many things. We have family, we have work, we have ourselves that we want to also grow. And then we take on more commitments, we have too much on our plate. It's important to negotiate and renegotiate so you don't break your commitments.   The next one is to learn to say, no, , because we are such people pleasers. A lot of people feel like if they say no, they may hurt someone else's feelings  or they may think bad of them. It's important to  have boundaries.  Boundaries are not something that you put on other people, but that you put on yourself.    “Look at procrastination instead of something of, “oh, I'm not doing something, I should,”  look at it as, this is just a sign of telling me that something is not in line.” - Brooke Elder.    We need to do some self reflection and get to really know ourselves. Gain Confidence and Customers with Video   “Whatever your service, whatever your product is, video is everything. ”   Amber Lykins   In Podcast 157 Brooke talks to two women who are helping women entrepreneurs brand themselves and market their business through video   Olivia Heyward has 10 to 15 years experience in a web design, logo design, marketing and material design.  She is all about helping women brand themselves.  Amber Lykins has  been in the beauty industry for 15 years. Her philosophy has always been to teach women how to really have a flawless finish of on camera off camera.    “The best thing about video is when you watch someone you like, you build a relationship with that person without actually even having to be there.” - Brooke Elder   Olivia stresses that the thing with video is you've already niched down who you want to speak to. You're saying things that relate to that person, so when you're speaking it, they're thinking, “that's me!” and they tune in more.   Through video you can actually meet new clients and you don't have to be killing yourself on the streets and be on the phone, twenty four seven. People are attracted to video marketing and creative content.   Confidence is a huge issue when it comes to being on video. One of the ways that you can start to immediately build your confidence is to start before you're ready. A lot of times people procrastinate with thoughts like, “I need this, I need this equipment, I need these fancy lights. I need all these things.” That's just procrastination. If you have a iPhone or a good cell phone, you can record amazing content right from your phone.    Amber adds that practicing is also helpful. She suggests to start with live streaming because it's more natural and relaxed. People expect that to be a little bit more loose, so you don't have to be as perfect and as polished as regular content. Even if you record sometimes and don't even put it out there, just record because it just builds your confidence. It gets you more comfortable on camera.   What will build your confidence is knowing the simple things that you teach will bring more value. You have to know who you're speaking to. You have to know really what you have to offer, that is key to creating your videos right on brand.    “Show up as yourself because that's what people will fall in love with.” - Olivia Heyward.    Amber and Olivia are offering a fantastic free five day challenge that helps you break down who you're targeting and also finding out about yourself. It will help you build a foundation because a lot of times people want to just start creating content and they don't have a focus. You need to have the end in mind when you start something. Knowing exactly what you're doing will make creating content so much easier. Don't Pimp Your Company   “We don't want to pimp out our company because no one cares.”   Brooke Elder   Today's podcast, 156, is another episode of the Spam Squad. Brooke takes an actual ad she found on Facebook and breaks it down and talks about why, what you should do and what you shouldn't do when it comes to posting about your company.    We are all very selfish and we really just care about ourselves, so no one cares about your company. When you talk about the growth that your company has accomplished in the last three years, it only attracts the people who want to jump on that bandwagon and are looking for a get rich quick scenario.    “I would much rather have 5 to 10 freaking awesome business builders, then a thousand downline that you have to babysit.” - Brooke Elder   So what does a recruiting post look like that is not spammy? The first step is to create and engaging post and tell them that you have been building your business. It's important to let people know there's work involved, because it does take work!    If you presented it as, “Hey, earn money, have trips, have fun, do this,” that's great, but when you do that, you get the people who that's all they want to do and they actually don't want to work.    Then you turn around on them because yes, it's about me, about what I just did, but you're going to ask about them. That's arrows out marketing. Ask questions to your audience about things they have done to build their business or things they have accomplished.   Once you start getting all of the comments coming through on this engaging post, you can either comment on the post or you can create another post.    Since most people are using Facebook to do their posting, Brooke talks about the strategy of using algorithms on Facebook. You need to be picky about who you recruit on your team. Make it like a job application and map out the qualities and characteristics that you are looking for.   “When you actually have strategy behind what you're doing on social media, you're going to get way better results.” - Brooke Elder   If you are authentic and direct in your posting you're going to be attracting the right people. You're going to get business builders not those people who are just tire kickers or kit snatchers. That's not them, so you're not going to have them on your team and it's going to make it so much easier.    How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Creating a Power Hour to increase Team Retention   “It's really about relationship building when it comes down to it.”   Lindsay Dollinger   In Podcast 155 Brooke has a conversation with Lindsay Dollinger who is in the top 1% of her company with a team of 130! She shares some of her tips and tricks on how to build a successful team and how to retain them.   When Lindsay joined her company one of the big things that she wanted was that community feel. She was committed and wanted her team to know that she was always going to be there for them while still having her own boundaries because she still worked full time as a teacher.   “Team Power Hours are really vital to not only create community, but help people grow their business the right way.” - Lindsay Dollinger.   The way Lindsay's Power Hour works is once a leader under her sponsor someone, then they do a three-way chat that reviews the onboarding process. Then she makes sure that the new consultant talks with their leader first, and then they come to her. Creating that authority for other people on your team so that you're not the one answering all the things all the time is really important. .   She has a leader circle with eight women in it who committed to leading one team power hour a week. They each take a day and do an hour of leadership coaching, mastermind, or mentorship calls. A couple people do a more beginner  one where they have a list of tasks to do.   Lindsay builds time into her Power Hour to send “Love Bombs”.  These are just messages to say hello, check on someone and I'm thinking of you. Selling should not even come up unless the other person brings it up.   That is building a relationship with people. That is how to attract people to your team because they feel seen and they know that you are not doing things in a spammy way.  It's a really nice way to establish those relationships with other people, especially if their love language is quality time.    She also builds time in for follow-up and time for scheduling posts.  She is really big about productivity and being productive with that hour of time. She makes sure that when they are  on a power hour, they are actually guiding and getting work done.   “A confused mind does nothing.” - Who Said It.    Incorporating Power Hours into your business is really a super simple solution that solves so many problems. It's going to increase your retention. People are not going to be confused. They're going to know what it is that they're supposed to be doing. Build wealth with 5 keys to money mastery   “Most people are so focused on debt that they can't see the bigger vision of what's possible .”   Veronica Singh   In today's podcast, 154, Brooke and  Veronica Singh have a great conversation about things that are really never talked about in  network marketing.   Veronica was introduced to the network marketing industry by her best friend in 2012. She  learned a ton about the industry, but she also learned a ton about how to also master your finances, how to master your health and things that are typically not taught in the industry as a whole. She shares five keys of money mastery.   “Everybody gets started in network marketing to make more money.” - Veronica Singh.   Most people when they get started in network marketing financially are dealing with debt. If you're constantly focused on debt, what do you think you're going to create more of in long-term debt? When it comes to money, you have to have a strong mindset and start thinking abundantly. What can you create and what value can you bring to the marketplace with your network marketing business that you're building in order to produce sales.   The first key is making money, but making money is only one of the five keys because yes, you need to make money, but you have to have the other four keys working simultaneously in order to create wealth long-term..   Key number two is managing that money. So simply put, it's understanding how to get your cash flow in order. Instead of taking your monthly income and dumping it all into paying off liabilities, start taking a percentage of that and put it into assets that can generate additional cash flow.   Key number three is saving money. Look at strategies or plans where you can put your money in a place where it has the ability to compound. Key number four is protection of money and is actually the most important key. Identity theft is actually the fastest growing crime in America today.    Last is key number five, growing your money. If you can get your cash flow in order, start putting a percentage of that money aside into a plan that can actually start accruing interest and actually compounding that interest over time.    “If you're not passionate about what you do, you're not going to be motivated to work .” - Veronica Singh.    If you would like to get more tips on how to be financially savvy you can find Veronica on Instagram. Don't be a spammy network marketer and do a host a post challenge   “ Anytime that you're doing anything for marketing and it's one and done. most of the time, it's spammy. ”   Brooke Elder   In Podcast 153 Brooke shares a special edition of the Spam Squad. Rather than reviewing an actual post, she reviews one of the most spammy strategies that she has ever come across! This strategy is called Host a Post. Not only is it ultimately spammy, but It can get you kicked off of Facebook because it's actually against their policies.   The strategy of Host a Post is to get your eyes in front of more people and have other people post your spam for you. This is not okay! It's bad enough that we have people out there that are posting their own spam, but asking all of your friends to post spam for you?    “How can we create a different strategy that is still maybe similar but less spammy? ” - Brooke Elder.   Brooke talks about what are the results that you are trying to get from your posts. The end result is to increase your sales, get more customers, get more recruits and ultimately grow your business.   One way to get your friends and their friends and their friends to all see what it is that you offer is to use your Facebook Group. Ask your friends to invite their friends into the group, but you don't just say, “Hey, this group is awesome. You should invite your friends in it too.” That's not how you do it. What you do instead is put together some sort of event, it could be one Facebook live that you're going to do. It could be a three-day event.    Create your three day event around a topic that solves a problem. The week before your event, talk about it in your group and tell them if you know of anyone else that would be interested in learning about this, make sure you invite them into the group because we want to help as many people to be able to achieve this result.   You can promote that on your personal page and say, “Hey, in my group, this is what I'm doing.”  So now you're getting people there. And you can also say, “if you want to invite other people to this, here's a post that you can post and let other people know that this is what we're going to be talking about.” So you're automatically building your audience. You're building your leads and you're doing it because you are bringing people value.    On the first day of your event you will just talk about the problem and offer tips on how to solve it. The second day you can offer a solution or product not affiliated with your company. The third day talk about your product, talk about benefit, benefit, benefit of why it is that they need this product and offer a discount.   “If you're ever feeling like you're puking on someone, you're doing it wrong.” - Brooke Elder.    We serve people by bringing them value by saying, you have a problem. I have a solution. Part of my solution may include network marketing products or joining my team, but I'm going to give you a lot of other options too. It's not about me selling. It's not about you joining my team. It's about me helping you solve the problem that you have. Managing expectations in your business   “ It's okay to be where you're at and give yourself permission to say wherever you're at is perfect for you.”   Brooke Elder   In Podcast 152 Brooke and Sarah Zolecki talk about how to manage expectations in your business, especially when you first join the network marketing industry.   Sarah has been around this amazing profession for over 20 years and has a unique perspective because she built her business being single. She built it being married and shebuilt it with kids and they're all definitely different phases. When she first got introduced to the business she had no business being in business at all,, but she absolutely fell in love with the profession and the people in it.   “If you're brand new, be excited about being brand new, don't be scared about it.” - Sarah Zolecki.   Most people come into the business with an employee mindset. We're used to being told when to take a vacation, when to take lunch break,  when to do whatever. Then all of a sudden we get into network marketing and we're in our own deal and we're like, “this is awesome” and then at the same time we're like “this is really scary!”   It is so important when you are brand new in the industry to cut yourself some slack! It's going to take a while to get your legs, so to speak, and figure out how things work in the industry and your business. Your first year is not to be a rockstar, it's just to become proficient and start learning the skills you need to build your business.   There really are only a few fundamentals to this business and once you got it, you got it. It's talking to people, having conversations, it's inviting people to look at your product or service or the business, and then it's following up. Then it's enrolling them as a distributor or it's getting them to sign up as a customer. Then it's just repeating the same process.   Whatever your goal is in your business, take the deadline off otherwise it puts so much pressure on you. It doesn't matter when you get there, it just matters that you get there.   Everyone that gets involved in the business has different skill sets that they bring to the table. Some of us have a little bit more skill sets than others, but be patient, there's always something to learn that will prepare you to handle future situations.   “It's so important not to compare yourself to other people because the journey is your journey. ” - Sarah Zolecki.    If you would like to connect with Sarah, you can find her on social media at sarahandtony.com https://www.facebook.com/sarahzolecki https://www.instagram.com/sarahzolecki/ Another tip to help keep the perspective of where you are and where you are going is to create a magic morning. What to post in your Facebook Group to Get Sales   “You have to learn how to attract people to you.”   Mandy Podlesny   The topic of Podcast 151 is what to post in your Facebook group to get orders and not be spammy. When people have their own Facebook group they usually do one of two things. They either turn it into their own spammy infomercial where the whole post is “buy my stuff,” or they don't want to do that at all and they go to the total opposite side of the spectrum and they talk about value and bring in a community but they don't know how to talk about their product.   Brooke and Mandy Podlesny (Mandy P) have a conversation about what you can do and how to position yourself as the expert and still get sales from your Facebook group.   “The amazing thing about network marketing is you can just be yourself and whatever avenue and direction you want to go, pour gas on that and go do it.” - Mandy Podlesny.   Do what really, really works for you and what feels good to you. Don't try to like be everything else someone else is. Nobody comes to Facebook or Instagram or any social media with their credit card in their hand being like, “Okay, I'm ready to buy your stuff now.” You want to create curiosity to get people to comment and engage, then go have conversations in the DM. One way to utilize your group is to use the add tag message system. So things that you repeat yourself with, a kit or something that you like that is one of  your top sellers. Do a video on that specific product and then post it in the guide section. Then when someone wants information tag them in it and let them have the responsibility for educating and then follow up.     It's not our job to manipulate or twist and turn someone into buying a product. It's like, “here's the information I know this will help you or this will be great for you. Do you want it? Yes or no? “    If people do say no, don't continue to follow up with them, if they say they're not interested, leave it.    “Network marketing is netWORK marketing. We have to do work. We have to take it seriously.” - Mandy Podlesny.    If you're struggling, get a mentor or coach or someone that will show you, coach you, guide you and do it the right way. Understand that it is work. You're not just going to get your luxury vehicle by three posts, right? Why only talking about money brings the wrong recruits   “Quote One.”   Who Said Quote   In episode 150 Brooke shares another episode of the Spam Squad where she dissects an actual Facebook story post she saw and gives suggestions on how to post more authentically.   This is what the post said. “Would you be interested in a new job, a new experience, even if you already work, would you like an extra bit of cash? I work full time and still have time to sell.” Then it had a picture of her product and then says, “are you interested?” 67% said no.    “How do you talk about your products or your opportunity in a way that make people really want to join?” - Brooke Elder.   First is putting something out on social media. We all know we don't want to sell, we want to share. This is just a very simple word choice, but when we are deciding to share, instead of sell, that changes our motives.    So just tell your story. You can't really say that much in a Facebook or an Instagram story, so instead you could to do a three or four part story. You could also do a video of you talking about this instead and then you could still do the “are you interested?” Instead of, “are you interested?”  it could be, “do you want more information or do you want to see how I did this?” So tell your story. What is it that you did? It doesn't mean that you have to have this amazing story of like, “oh, I retired my husband...I was able to quit my full-time job...I make a million dollars,” like all of those things. We think that we have to have these big, huge milestones before people even pay attention to us, which simply is not true.   A milestone that you can talk about is “do you know how awesome it feels to have a car that now I don't have to worry about how am I going to make that car payment? Instead what I do now is put that money away into savings!”   It's all about stories and being able to connect to a situation that the people listening have been in.   “The greatest thing about network marketing is it's a business in box.” - Brooke Elder.    You don't have to worry about all the legal stuff, or product development. You don't have to worry about all the systems and automation of like, how do we ship these things from here to there. All you have to worry about is the customer service, making sure your customers are taken care of, the marketing and the sales, that's it.    If you want a step-by-step plan on how to be successful, join us in the Academy. We're actually making real money and it's not a pyramid scheme. ”   Livvy Cunningham   Today is Podcast 149 where Brooke and Livvy Cunningham have a discussion about breaking down the barriers in the network industry because network marketing has kind of this bad, stereotypical view on it. And that's not really what it's like.     Livvy is a wife and mother of four who has been in the industry for about nine years. She went to Boston University in their school of management and graduated with a degree with a concentration in marketing. She was a powerful woman in the corporate world, then got married and started a family. Her second child was born with a serious heart condition and she made the decision to leave the business world and became a full time mom. That's when she discovered network marketing.   “It's a mindset thing. You have to be confident in what you're doing.” - Livvy Cunningham.   People might be interested in joining your team or your company, but they have friends and family whispering the stereotypical garbage in their ear. You have to be confident in what you're doing and be proud of the work that you are doing.   If people really only took a time to just check it out for themselves instead of just buying into the industry hate, they would see that it's so much different and would see that it's actually amazing products that you're spending money on.   It's very hard to be successful and be able to share that success without having haters, , but it's a part of the industry. It's the part of the process, no matter what your product is.   It's going back to mindset. All you're doing is presenting and then giving the person the opportunity to say,” yeah, that sounds cool, or no, thank you.”    They're not saying no thank you to you, or you're the worst or no I don't like you. It's not, you, it's just not the right time. You're going to hear nos, but it's not personal. It's not a reflection of you and who you are.    “It's rough when you're putting yourself out there and people are rude. You just have to learn to let it roll off your back. ” - Livvy Cunningham.    If you would like to connect with Livvy, just send her a friend request on Facebook. Running your business as a business owner vs an MLM leader   “You have to run your network marketing business like a business if you want it to pay you like a business.”   Tara Truax     In today's podcast Brooke has a lively discussion with Tara Truax, who like Brooke, is a firm believer that you need to have the mindset of building your network marketing business like a business owner and not an MLM leader.   Tara is a retired professional dancer. After the birth of her second child she started having the horrible feeling that the world was surrounding her and she couldn't breathe. She found a friend who had a product that helped with that. And before she knew it, she had a really good product testimony and fell into this industry by accident.    “I don't believe we can develop leaders, leaders develop themselves. Leaders will always find the tools they need.” - Tara Truax.   One of the important tools needed is to find ideal strategic business partners to work with. What we find in this industry, because as a low startup cost, we get a lot of people at these entry level positions who are not willing to lead themselves, who have employee mindset versus business owner/entrepreneur mindset.    So our job basically is to go through those “resumes” and we present, we interview, we find those strategic business partners who then will develop themselves and also find those strategic business partners.   Tracking your business measurables, the actual things that bring in your business, is also a great tool. You should know what new products are coming out, the sales for that product, how that went, how many new employees, how many new partners are coming in that month and how many have whatever to get to whatever bonus.    Tracking measureables, being smart with your taxes, being smart with your money, investing properly where you're investing back into both your team, into your business, into your family, into your future, all these will help your business grow.    If you track those measureables, then you get out of the total emotional roller coaster of, “Oh gosh, I'm working so hard and I'm doing all these things and nothing's happening.” When you track your measureables, you get out of the emotion and you look at the facts and then those facts become wisdom.   “This business actually should bring you joy.” - Tara Truax.    The past year has been very enlightening for a lot of people, we can see a shift from people being from desperation into inspiration. People are seeing this as an opportunity to be at home, to share with their families, to create the next level. Build a Solid Foundation to grow your Network Marketing Business   “When you are marketing to everyone, you are marketing to no one, you have no foundation.”   Brooke Elder   In podcast 147 Brooke dives into the topic of how do you build a business that has that solid foundation. Most people in network marketing build their foundation by thinking that their products are for everyone. When you market to everyone you have no way of really differentiating yourself from other people.    Usually on average, the results are for every hundred people you talk to, two will say yes. Those are  horrible odds! When you do this, you start to feel burned out and you start to feel like you're not good enough and you start to feel like everyone else out there can do it but me. So you end up quitting because you don't understand the foundational piece.    “If you didn't know this, the industry is changing.” - Brooke Elder   From October to December of 2020, the network marketing industry saw a  21% increase in people joining. That hasn't happened since 1982. There was a pivot in the industry. They changed all the strategies to hotel meetings and to having the three-way calls, like all the things that your upline is probably using now.   We're about to experience that again. And we're experiencing the pivot of how to build your business authentically in the net, the digital space. If you don't pivot with the industry, you're going to be left behind and your business is going to suffer.    Brooke talks about what this pivot looks like, especially when it comes to foundation. It's thinking through the, what experiences do you have to set yours yourself apart? You have to have a personal brand in this new age of network marketing. If you don't have a personal brand and you're relying on your company's name, it's not going to work.  You have to stand out.   You've got to know who you serve. You need to have a mission. You need to have a personal brand. If you don't have those, you will be left behind. It may take a year. It may take two, three years, but five years from now  you will not have a business. So what can you start doing right now in order to figure this out? How can you build this really solid foundation? Social Tenacity can help. Social Tenacity is different from a lot of the other people out there, from your uplines, from other people that are telling you, this is how you should do network marketing.   We want you to position yourself as a real business owner and that you have this personal brand, you have this way of how you want to help people as well as coming from that servant leader. Inside the academy we show you how to identify who your person is and understand the things that are unique about you and how you can marry that with the problem that your company solves or your product solves. This is really the new way of building that foundation of your business.   “It's all about having that personal brand and having people reach out to you for help.” - Brooke Elder.    If you're interested in learning more about the proven system that we teach inside the academy at www.authenticinfluenceracademy.com.    How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! You don't need to be spammy to reach out effectively   “The cool thing with network marketing is it's about people.”   Bethany Shipley   In today's podcast Brooke chats with Bethany Shipley about her success in network marketing. She shares some of the tips that have helped her to be successful.    Bethany was not excited about network marketing and had a person persistently inviting her for a year to come to her class, come to her business meeting, come to her girls night out. She finally just told her husband, “I don't know when she's going to get the point. I'm not interested,” but then something changed.   “You can't say the wrong thing to the right person when it's their time.” - Bethany Shipley.   Bethany saw her parents join another network marketing company and they had this energy about them that she hadn't seen in 20 years. Her dad was in this zone of, I can take control of my life and I can make things happen for myself that otherwise wouldn't happen. She remembers watching them have that transformation and  she wanted a piece of that, she wanted that energy.   She committed herself to her business six and a half years ago. She saw the amount of money that could be made and thought “I can do this, but I'm doing this literally with no sales experience, no skill, no idea, no social media presence. I'm 21 years old with no college degree!” She studied hard and went to Google and YouTube where she found a common denominator between everyone that was successful and that was they were actually doing things in a heart-centered way that's authentic to them.   She realized if she was going to be in the game and be a professional, she needed to start playing the game. She discovered that there was a FLOW to finding somebody to talk to you.    F would be, find someone to talk to. L would be let them know what you're doing. O would be offer your product. And then the W would be, “would it be okay if I sent you some information?” You're not just out there finding every single person that you know to talk to you. It's finding the right people that have the problem that you have the solution for it. And that's when you keep going.    When Bethany trains her team, she talks about the difference between urgency and desperation. Desperation is like,  “I'm going for a rank and I need this and I need you to do that,” where urgency is more of “ You need this. I want to help you.”   “Every one of us has a unique way that we see the world.” - Bethany Shipley   When we have our mission, which is who we want to serve and how we want to serve them, our style of how we deliver that is going to be what lands for different people. How to post on social media authentically   “It's all about branding. It's all about staying consistent on your social media.”   Mindy Saunders   In today's podcast Brooke answers the most frequently asked question that she receives, which is how to post authentically on social media. She speaks with Mindy Saunders who has built her business all on social media and has raised to the top of her company in just ten weeks!   Mindy's twin sister invited her to a direct sales party online and she thought that she would like to do something like that. She did a lot of research and discovered that through specific strategies on your posting and daily reach outs  systems were super simple. As long as you were consistent with it, social media platforms will take what you create and boost it out to more people   “Self-development is key each and every day.” - Mindy Saunders.   Mindy stresses that it doesn't matter what your rank is in a network marketing business, you need to find people that are successful and you follow them, you listen to what they have to say and you model what they are doing. They have paved the way, they know the way, just learn what they have to teach.   It's all about consistency. It's all about the self-development, it's all about remaining consistent in your business. There's going be highs and there's going be lows, but you just have to stay consistent and you just have to just stay neutral, ride the wave, don't get too high on the highs. Don't get too low on the lows.  Something to be proud of really takes a lot of ebbs and flows and when you're there it's that much sweeter.    People want to connect with real human beings and not feel like they're inadequate with who they truly are wanting to connect with.    The mistake that a lot of network marketers make is they're just posting about their product and how awesome it is or there was a sale on this, or there's a new product that just got announced. And that's all that you really see, you don't see that person behind all of the product.    Just be real, be human, be a little bit vulnerable and genuinely connect with people. That's where you're going to get those people that are your tribe and they come in and those are the people that you want to work with and associate yourself with. If you do this, your job will be fun and exciting.    “Put all of you into your social media, because you are more than just your company.” - Mindy Saunders.     If there's one thing about everything that has to do with business, whether it's network marketing or anything, it's just staying consistent. When you do that, people start to come and it happens, eventually. If you would like to connect with Mindy you can find her on Facebook and Instagram. Actually Build Relationships on Messenger   “Don't be a spammy weirdo! Create real connections with people and your business is going to soar.”   Brooke Elder   Podcast 144 is another episode of the Spam Squad! Brooke reviews an actual message that she received on Facebook and talks about the do's and don'ts when posting. She shows you a better way to post in Messenger to help build relationships and how to actually get sales.   Brooke discusses what it's like to be on the receiving side of a spammy message.  Messages like that instantly bring thoughts of,  “I do not want to have a conversation with you because all you're doing here is saying I have something awesome. It's on sale, buy it. And you're pushing it on me. I don't want it.”   “Spammy infomercial in my inbox? No thank you.” - Brooke Elder.   Brooke shares examples of how a consultant can create posts that are authentic, not pushy, not self-promoting and definitely not spammy!  Building a relationship through messaging is the key to success.   It's important to remember that you are not selling your company, you are identifying a problem and offering a solution.   Brooke received a friend request on Facebook this week that was a great example of how to create a relationship using the arrows out strategy.    His first post introduced himself by name and then recognized what Brooke's company offered and asked how her journey has been. His post was all about her and what she was doing. That approach makes it easy for someone to want to respond back. The next few responses he asked open-ended questions, not yes or no ones. All of his questions were exactly related to Brooke and where she was at.    Once the relationship was built he identified a problem that Brooke had then told her about his Facebook group that offered trainings and resources that could help her if she was interested. No pressure, no hype, simply offering help.  This is how you do marketing ladies. This is it. It's not sending those copy and paste messages.    “Creating connections with people, is it a longer process? Yes. Are you going to build better relationships? Absolutely!” - Brooke Elder.    Join Brooke every Friday in the Authentic Influencer Marketing Facebook Group for more episodes of the Spam Squad!   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Thinking like a Business Owner   “Your business doesn't start until you start talking to people outside of your friends and family.”   Majid Zafer     In Podcast 143 Brooke has a conversation with Majid Zafer, a brilliant business minded person  who believes that whatever skill sets that you learn in network marketing are very applicable to traditional business also.    Majid was kind of forced into network marketing at a very young age, his parents joined Amway when he was ten years old. He went to every Amway convention and learned from a lot leaders. If you can run a successful network marketing company, you would probably also run a successful business, but that comes with its pain points too. Every network marketer has thought of quitting at least multiple times. And if you haven't, you haven't worked hard enough.    “It is great to be inspired, but it's most important to be true to yourself .” - Majid Zafer   Business mindset is key on multiple fronts because what it really is, is person development. It might be a journey for you to take and the best thing that's gonna happen for you through that journey is who you are going to evolve into and who you are going to evolve into is really gonna be the catalyst for whatever you're going to create.    The process of creation is how you take what you think might be impossible and bring it into the realm of possibility, even if you don't know how you're going to get there. The thing that stops a lot of people is that they feel that they need to succeed based on what they know. It's really in the unknown where the bounty is and really striving towards that. Bounty is a key not being fixed in who you are or what you're doing, it's just in the ability to create   It's not about how much money you make, it's about how you want to live. It's not about knowing how you're going to do it. It's about claiming that, are you going to do it? And then the universe really brings and attracts to you where you're going to need to be able to accomplish it. But you've  got to speak it first.    Your thoughts and your words are like the instructions to the universe, so when you speak it and you let everybody know, then subconsciously you will also start looking for things to be able to make that possibility a reality.    It's really about leading with you and not your company and really growing you because when you focus on you and you grow, you will always be good. No matter what happens to your company, if you know what happens to your sales, what happens to your team, if you work on you, that's the greatest dividend that you will get out of this journey.    “The space is shifting. If you don't shift along with it, people will not want to do business with you.” - Majid Zafer.    If you want to build an organization, long-term the glue is your strength of your relationships. It's your tribe you're building and your personal brand ties into that. If you really find a way to enjoy the process, then you've already won.  If you would like to connect with Majid and learn more about his tips on thinking like a business owner you can find him on Linkedin or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/majid.zafer.9.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Building your seven-figure brand using YouTube and Facebook   “When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.”   Michelle Cunningham     In today’s podcast, Brooke has a discussion with Michelle Cunningham who is a  full-time network marketing coach who serves people all over the world and helps them enhance and build their business using video.   Michelle and her two brothers were raised by a single mom. She comes from very humble beginnings and so much of her early life defined who she was. She was super shy, introverted and never wanted to stand out. She paid her way through college and landed her dream job out of school as a pharmaceutical sales rep., but didn’t love it. When she was 23 she signed up with a network marketing company, but didn’t do much with it for six years.   “Anybody can be broken and stuck and get unstuck.” - Michelle Cunningham.   Michelle found a lady that lived in her town who sold for the same company and asked her if she could show her how to do the network marketing thing. She was not her upline, she was just a nice person who didn't get paid on Michelle’s success, but she mentored her. Six months later, she went from a team of just her and no customers to a team of 50. That lady was her mentor and cheerleader and that changed so much for her. Sometimes you just need someone to show you what to do.    Michelle was an introvert and was always so worried what people thought about her, but she now runs by the saying, “what other people think about me is none of my business.” She believes we should all think like that, but there are different levels of self-esteem that we have as we're moving up the ladder. What she uncovered is that You Tube is super safe because nobody knows you have a You Tube channel unless you tell them.   Another super cool thing about YouTube is you can create a video, sound really dominant and then edit out your dumb parts. You don’t have to have elaborate equipment to do a video, just use your laptop and add some music in the background.   Creating a You Tube channel is another tip for success. You may not know exactly what to do on your channel right away, but just get started. And then after six videos evaluate and be like, this is not my thing. If it’s not your thing, ust switch it up to what is.   “It doesn't have to be perfect. It's sometimes throwing spaghetti on a wall, just get it out there, see what happens.” - Michelle Cunningham    Some people think that it needs to be perfect and everything needs to be polished before it puts out there because no one's going to take you seriously if it's not. That's really not the case because people  fall in love with your message and they're going to fall in love with you and they love the vulnerability. How to be Successful in Network Marketing without Recruiting   “Don't get it backwards. Start your business off on the right foot.”   Brooke Elder   In episode 141 Brooke explores a topic that a lot of people have asked about but no one really is talking about and that is how do you build a network marketing business without recruiting.   So how can you be successful in network marketing? If you've ever asked yourself this, that is the conversation Brooke discusses today because that’s what she sees in network marketing. She says that we kind of have this backwards. We think as soon as you join in that first month, you need to start getting recruits, and what's the problem with that? It really creates the blind leading the blind, and that is never a good situation.    “We are told a lie when we first join network marketing, that the only way to really, really make good money is if we have a team.” - Brooke Elder.   With most companies you make 25-30% commission off of your own sales, but on your team, you make about two to maybe seven percent at most. Do you make more money if you sell $10,000 yourself, or if you and your team sell $10,000. You definitely make more money percentage wise on your own sales versus your teams.   So why don't we focus on creating a client attraction system, a customer attraction system. That's going to bring all of the people to us that are going to buy from us and then stay with us. If you provide good customer service and have attention to detail, your customers will be loyal to you and your brand.   Network companies and your uplines want you to recruit, but that’s not what is the best for you. The best thing for you is go and sell so you can really start making money.  Never rely on your income based off of what someone else does, all of that should be your bonus. You  need to have control over your customers, how many people you're bringing in, how you're bringing them in and the retention of those customers. That is how you should structure your business.   The first question that most people ask is, “how do I start attracting the right kind of customers?” You want to make sure that you're getting customers that want to continue to buy from you,  narrow down to the one person that you can help. This is something that Brooke does inside the Academy. She helps you to hone in your unique gifts, talents, and strengths and shows you how to then apply that to how you can help and serve people.   The next question that Brooke gets is “how are you able to keep that retention of your customers?” Brooke is all about automation and that's exactly what she shows you inside the Academy.  It has software where you can go in and say, okay, this person just bought this and then it will send emails out to them. Now you're not spending two or three hours a day calling people and asking them, you're doing it all through email and text messages, and it's all automated.    “This is a very outside the box way of looking at how to build your network marketing business.” - Brooke Elder.    If you want to learn more about the Academy and everything that Brooke offers, you can go to authenticinfluenceracademy.com. Find the fastest way to increase your commission checks, so that way you can start living the lifestyle you want. Then you have something to actually talk about when you are recruiting. How to Increase Customer Retention   “It's not all about the sale. It's about the customer itself.”   Corie Diehl     In Podcast number 140 Brooke interviews Corie Diehl, a stay home mother of five who has a full-time network marketing business. Corie has been in the industry for  22 years and has been doing sales most of her adult life.   Corie says she is very fortunate to be able to have that opportunity to be the mom, but also to bring an income into her family. Direct sales is what fuels her fire every day to kind of get out there and meet new customers.   “It is super important to set yourself apart from the next consultant.” - Corie Diehl.   Looking at stats in the network marketing industry show that only 10% of customers are going to buy from the same consultant again. So Corie has a lot of  ideas and things that she teaches her team on how to increase that customer retention.   Some of the ideas that she shares is putting a sample in with the order or a thank you note expressing your appreciation for supporting a small business.  Filling orders quickly and painlessly is also important. It comes down to just trying to make sure that you are super helpful.    Another point that Corie stresses is to be super positive and willing to do whatever it takes to make them happy.  That way when your customer goes to another party they will think of the ease of ordering with you and want to  spend their money with that stylist that does the extra mile for them.   Corie also sends out subscription boxes to her customers. She works on giving  little extra gifts. She is always doing fun games in the VIP group. Those things are really huge in her opinion in terms of the retention and keeping people there.   Another huge thing in terms of customer retention is having a VIP group that is not all about sales, it is more of like a group where customers  know where they  can go to look to be positive and get great ideas.    “If you make the experience more personal,  friendly and welcoming, then they're going to go to you rather than somewhere else.” - Corie Diehl   If you want to know more about Corie or get into her community through her VIP group that she has created, the best place to find her is on Facebook  at https://www.facebook.com/corie.diehl or her group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1855434798001446. EP 139 Creating Real, Authentic Content that Flows Naturally from Your Body

Creating real, authentic content that flows naturally from your body   “Any human that just speaks from their own body, they get interaction, they get feedback, they get positive engagement.”   Heather Quisel    In today’s Podcast Brooke sits down with Heather Quisel, a business coach and strategist for entrepreneurs, business owners, leaders who use social media as their main marketing tool.  She teaches organic and paid strategies and how to turn their profile into a magnet and to generate leads on autopilot.    Heather was a preschool teacher, but like a lot of moms, she had children and wanted more time at home and all the flexibility and direct sales was a great place to do that. She took courses, hired coaches and id all the things that you should do when you take business seriously. At some point  she discovered that there was more for her in this world than direct sales. There was more she wanted to talk about, more she wanted to share, more she wanted to teach than just how to sell this package of products. She stumbled into the world of online marketing and click funnels and branding yourself.    “The thing with network marketing is it's a beautiful thing because it's a one size fits all.” - Heather Quisel.   Anybody from any background can take it and do what they want with it. But the downside of it is it's a one size fits all. And if you're not careful, you sound like everybody else and that's where it's like, “well, I've heard this before, .” This is basically what your audience is thinking of, “It's not for me. I've heard it before everybody sounds the same.” And in sales and marketing and business, if you're not standing out. Somebody can buy something from you, but they're not going to be committed to you.   One of the biggest pieces of real estate on Facebook, (and it's the most critical written message that we could possibly put on the interwebs) is the bio or about section. When you nail it, people stick around, when you don't nail it, that's where you run into trouble.    It comes down to who are you? What do you do? And what's in it for your customer. If someone is driving by, that's what they want to know, what can you do for them? While your profile is about you, it actually has nothing to do with you. It should have everything to do with how you help and serve your audience, but under the guise of you.   It is common when you start using social media you essentially make  commercial after commercial. That works to an extent, but it’s not fun or long lasting. So how do you actually attract people to you?  Heather suggests sharing a life experience or what you are learning or what you are good at.     Heather teaches her clients that what we should be doing is focusing on building the platform. The platform is a mix between the social space that you're on, like Facebook or Instagram. It's a mixture of that with your voice. And that is what you speak about. That is who you are. That's not your company, it's who you are.    “The best way to really build a following and a presence online is to share stuff from your own body. That one change can make all the difference.” - Heather Quisel   If you would like to connect with Heather, she is a Facebook girl and her personal profile is https://www.facebook.com/heatherquisel. You can also catch her  on Heather quizzle.com as well. And if you are somebody who's wanting to understand how that five point optimization works with your profile, you can go to https://go.heatherquisel.com/smchallenge-info.  She runs one of these each and every month to teach you the steps in that strategy. Don't Send another Copy and Paste Message   “You're doing people a disservice by messaging everybody.”   Brooke Elder   It’s another episode of Spam Squad in today’s Podcast 138! Brooke reviews an actual message that was sent to her, that someone's upline sent to them. She wanted to throw up when she read this one.    This upline had told her entire downline to message everyone about a product. Then she added, “when I say message everyone, I mean, everyone, don't be afraid of one person getting more than one message from more than one person. Everyone loves to know that lots of friends are looking out for them and making sure that they know that they can get free products and earn a paycheck.”   “People do not love getting multiple spamming messages. ” - Brooke Elder.   Brooke goes on to explain that this is what is wrong in network marketing. Is it an awesome opportunity? Yes, it is an awesome opportunity. Does that mean that you message every single person that you know? Absolutely not.    She goes on to relate an experience she had with a Volkswagen Passat when her husband owned his car dealership. It was so much fun to drive, she loved it and it was amazing. Did she go and message all of my friends and tell them, “Hey, I have this awesome Passat, so you totally should buy it!” No, that is spammy. That is not what we're supposed to do, because that is how you lose friends.    To be successful in network marketing,  never chase people. It’s “this is what I have to offer. Here's the problem you have. Here's the solution. If you want it, I'm here.”   You need to identify the problem then you agitate a little bit about what it feels like, and then you give your solution, whatever that is. It could be a product. It could be your opportunity. It could be talking to you on the phone. It could be joining your Facebook group. It could be following you on Instagram. All of those things are solutions to a problem that people have. When you start talking about that and people are seeing that, that is when they're going to be like, Ooh, that's something that I really want.    People just need to know if they have this problem, you have the solution, that's it. Then once they say, “Hey, I want that solution,” That's when you then can start talking to more about what the solution is and how it works for them and how it's going to make their life awesome. If you are out pushing people and being spammy, they are not going to want to even one,  have anything to do with you. You're going to burn bridges and  lose relationships. But two, you are also giving your company a bad name and a bad taste in people's mouth.    “This is the problem in network marketing and as authentic influencers we are here to fix it.” - Brooke Elder. Have a Freedom Lifestyle through a personal brand   “When you build a brand, it doesn't matter what you're selling, it's you that people want to follow. ”   Julie Burke   In Podcast 137 Brooke has a conversation with Julie Burke, a successful entrepreneur who understands that we as women want to build successful businesses. We want to be successful. We obviously want to generate more income, but it's about working less, profiting more and making an impact.    Julie’s story began in 2012 when she stepped into the lovely world of network marketing as a franchise owner of a sandwich shop. She started this adventure thinking “I’m going to be my own boss,” and quickly learned that sixteen hour days did not make her the boss, it made me a slave to her business. After ten years she wanted to be home with her family, so she sold her franchises and entered into the world of network marketing.   “There is power in surrounding  yourself with good people that help to remind you of your vision and your dream.” - Julie Burke.   Julie’s vision was to be home with her child, raise him and just be able to have her own income coming into the house.  She jumped into a network marketing company with both feet because she loved the product and she  had that entrepreneurial spirit.   2016 is when she decided to really go online with network marketing. Back then it was home parties, events and three-way calls. That's how she built her business, hiding in the closet, doing three-way calls after three-way calls. Facebook was a different playing field back then.   She was seeing a lot of the spamming and cold messaging, so she started teaching branding and attraction marketing.  When you are creating you own brand one of the things is really just showing up and being unique.    Storytelling is very engaging for people. Rather than just saying, “ here's my product, buy my product,” share your story on the product or other people's stories on the product or about the business and share testimonials. It’s just really showcasing results and being unique and making sure that you're in your own voice.    So many network marketing companies go under and when that happens and you're left with nothing, especially if you have put all your heart and soul into building that business. We cannot control what these companies decide. If they want to change our commission structure, they're going to change our commission structure. If they want to take away products, they're going to take away products and they could be our favorite product, right. That we have zero control. We only have control over ourselves, our decisions and the choices that we made.  That’s why building your brand is so important.   “In network marketing you want to start building a brand and branch out. It is the stepping stone into becoming more of an entrepreneur.” - Julie Burke.    Julie wants to help people be smart,  to help them build smart businesses and smart friends. TitleDitch the VIP Group and do this instead   “Facebook groups are like the hidden gem when it comes to building network marketing on social media. .”   Bec Sadek   In today’s podcast Brooke and Bec Sadek talk about Facebook groups and how to make them so it's not an infomercial, but how use them as a tool that can really help build your business. Bec grew up in New York City and knew nothing about network marketing. She was introduced to the network marketing world ten years ago.   She did really well the first couple of years just off of adrenaline and excitement. Then she just kind of hit a plateau that a lot of people in network marketing hit, where she ran out of people to talk to,  she’d hit up everybody she knew and didn't have enough people to talk to anymore. So she started doing Google searches, how to build your network marketing business online, how to use social media to build your network marketing business.    “For years I had VIP groups and I would recreate them and try to figure out why aren't they working? ” - Bec Sadek.   Bec explains that VIP groups are an infomercial where you invite all of your family and friends and customers into this one same group. You're posting promos from your company, sales that are happening, announcing new customers that are coming in. And most of the time people don't really want to be there.   Bec uses Facebook groups in several different ways, but the main way she uses them for prospecting is for what she calls evaluation. When somebody becomes interested in what you're doing off of a post that you make, what we want to do is straight away is send them a link. Nine times out of 10, that doesn't really work and it's because that person usually needs more information to make a decision. So when somebody is interested, rather than just sending them your link, what if you were to say, I've got some really cool stories from other people that have used these products with great results. I'd love to share some of those with you.    So rather than putting them in a group where they're just getting bombarded with sales posts, they're actually getting information about how this product can benefit them or how this opportunity will benefit them.   What that allows them to do is to sit inside of the group and evaluate, “Is this the right product for me? Is this the solution I've been looking for? Is this the right team for me? Is this the right company for me?” People can get a really good sense of your team culture inside of private groups too. So they can just sit there and evaluate.   It's all about helping them and serving them where they're at and what problems do they have? I have the solution, let me hand you that solution so you can see it and then it's your choice of what you're going to do with it.    “People overwhelmingly say that they stay on Facebook because of groups that they love.” - Who Said It.    Bec gives a few different examples of types of posts that she use inside of these prospecting groups and that she teaches people to use.  If you would like to learn more about Bec and her amazing tips on using Facebook successfully, you can find her at https://www.facebook.com/groups/leadershiplabwithbec   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Why having a Clear vision Matters   “If you don’t have a clear vision of where you're going, you're not ever going to reach your goals.”   Brooke Elder   In episode 135 Brooke talks about the importance of having a clear vision and why that even matters. What is it that you're trying to create in your business and what is your WHY?    Companies want you to identify what your why and have a deep why. And that really becomes your vision of where you want to go. If you don’t have a deep why it is easy to give up or quit when you run into obstacles or hard things. So this is why having a clear vision really matters. .   “Having a vision separates the people that are successful in reaching their goals and people who are not successful.” - Brooke Elder.   Brooke illustrates this in an example of going on a road trip from California to New York to visit the Statue of Liberty. What routes are we going to take to get there? How are we going to get there? What does gas cost on the way there and looking at, okay, well, are you going to drive straight through? ? Where are you going to stop? Where are you going to sleep? And what are you going eat along the way?   You need to answer those questions, because then when you're on the road, you get in your car, you're all excited. And you have something that breaks. Maybe your alternator goes out or you have a bad battery in your car. You have things that happen. You're not going to quit because you have another goal that's just right there. You're like, well, I just got to get this fixed because my plan is to stay here tonight. And so you're not looking at this big goal clear on the other side of the country that you have to hit, you are looking at, Oh, well, I just have to here, that's all. It makes it a lot easier to push through those hard things because you have a goal at the end.   So the vision is really, we have this long-term vision, but we know what's going to happen a month from now. We know we're going to be three months from now, six months from now, two years from now, 10 years from now, because all of those little things are the things that are going to lead up to that big vision so that makes it, so we're not just going to give up.   So how do you create a clear vision? You need to know where you're going and what's your end goal. Brooke tells about her why when she first started network marketing and the struggles that she had along the way. She thought she had a pretty good why, but it wasn't deep enough because she hit things that were hard and she ended up quitting.   Two years later she joined another network marketing company and really got down to that deeper why that really fueled her vision. Then it was really easy to get clear on all the things that had to happen in order for this vision to come true and then she could set the benchmarks. When you have the intention of this is where I'm going you can see the signs everywhere that are pointing you in the right direction.    “It takes like seven times of asking why to really get to that deep, deep rooted of why it truly, truly is important to you.” - Brooke Elder   Brooke would love to hear from you and have you share your why. She has a Facebook group called the Authentic Influencer Marketing Facebook group, and it has about 14,000 network marketers to connect with and are there to help and support you. If you don't feel comfortable telling 14,000 people your why, tell someone because it creates this kind of accountability.    How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! How to make real connections through LinkedIn   “Humans naturally don't want to be sold to, but they do want to buy.”   Anne Stefanyk   In today’s Podcast 134, Brooke has a conversation with Anne Stefanyk, CEO/Founder of Kanopi Studios, a company that specifically helps clients that want to make an impact on the web.  She finds that a big part of scaling and growing a business is leveraging LinkedIn to make connections.   Back in the day when we were able to go to conventions in person, we would make connections with people in the lunch line, by sitting next to them, or you would simply meet the people around you and be able to converse.  Now with COVID we have to find creative and authentic ways to connect with people.   “It's so important to first build that connection, then build that conversation and then when it's appropriate, then ask for the convert.” - Anne Stefanyk.   LinkedIn is such a good place because so many of us have been spammed on LinkedIn, so we know what not to do. Anne goes on to explain how to dig into the different elements of how to connect appropriately, how to converse appropriately and then how to leverage LinkedIn to actually convert.   So first off, with all businesses, you probably have a target persona. Somebody that you're most likely to sell to somebody who will buy what you're trying to sell. There's this element of “you don't want to spray and pray.” You really want to focus on who your target persona is, who is the buyer, and then look and use LinkedIn searches and filters to be able to find those folks.   Once they've connected, then you have room to create a bit of a dialogue. And this is again, before you even start talking about your product, you're just kind of talking about common pain points. That'll eventually lead you to talking about the product.   Sometimes some of these seeds that you plant in social media don't come to fruition right away, but with a lot of love and tenderness and consistency, then you'd be surprised of what pops up. It just requires a bit of like time-blocking and your calendar to make sure you get this type of intentional work done.   Another way you can leverage LinkedIn that is really authentic is to kind of piggyback on our friends. Once you start gaining LinkedIn connections you can see all their friends and then you can connect based on that and kind of leverage that social network. More often people are likely to connect with a cold LinkedIn request if you connect it to another human in their network.   “We can actually reach a larger group of people in a larger area through online networking . but authenticity is the key.” - Anne Stefanyk   If you would like to connect with Anne and get more ideas on how to use LinkedIn to build your business you can find her on LinkedIn at or on her company’s website. Her husband found a job, but Amber struggled and finally decided to fall back on something she knew she was good at where she could work from home. She used her baking skills and took free classes at a local craft store and learned how to decorate wedding cakes. She discovered she had a natural talent that she could use to help make an income for her family.   “I want people to just believe in themselves, just try, just one step at a time.” - Amber Dorton   Amber took a job at a school where she was making money, had benefits and was able to raise their credit score. The downside to the job was she worked for someone who made her feel really bad about herself. She was just one of those people that was always going to find the negative. She would go to work everyday with a knot in her stomach and she felt horrible about herself. She became more and more insecure and hated the person she was turning into.   She started listening to podcasts during her commute to and from work.  That was the beginning of building her mindset and getting into a better place.  One of the things that turned things around for her was learning the importance of a morning routine and waking up a little earlier and doing some journaling. This change of mindset helped her become a more positive person.   In March of 2020 when COVID hit, the world as we knew it changed. Amber lost her job and joined a direct sales company so she could work from home. She felt that all the scripts and all the things that they were telling her to do made her feel disgusting. Then she discovered Social Tenacity and how to market authentically.   Amber stated that this program has changed her life and she wants people to just be brave, just be brave for that minute. How to get customers through Social Media Posts   “If we're putting all of this time and energy into creating posts for social media, we want them to work.”   Brooke Elder   Podcast 132 is another episode of “Spam Squad” where Brooke dives into how to get customers on Social Media without being spammy and how to post authentically.   Brooke shares a post that she found on Facebook and breaks it down into why it is not an effective post. Then she gives examples of how to reconstruct a more positive and intriguing post.    “Whenever you’re doing any posts on Social Media you want to grab their attention and hook them in.” - Brooke Elder.   So what's the goal of a post, what's the motive, what's the goal? When you're going to craft a post to be able to achieve that goal, do it in a way that actually is going to get results.   Posts cannot be vague or broad, they need to be specific. It comes down to what is that one problem you solve, who is your avatar and what is your niche?    You have to tell people what to do. You want to almost treat people like they're first graders. And it's not to say that the intelligence of  our audiences is on a first grade level. That's not it at all. It's just that we have so many things that are going on in our heads.   We need to interrupt the pattern of what we're doing on social media. Why do you go on social media, especially Facebook and Instagram. We don't go there to say, “Oh, I have a problem. I'm in a search for this to see if I can get some help with this.” That's not why people go on social media. They go on to see what their friends are doing and what they are  up to. Or it's like, “I’ve got 10 minutes. I don't know what else to do.” It's now become a habit because our phones are part of our lives.    Strategy on Pinterest is a little bit different because you can create pins and things   that are on how to solve the problem, so you can be a little more direct.  On Facebook we have to think of ways that we can interrupt the pattern and it has to be about them.   “There's not any product that's out there that doesn't solve a problem.” - Brooke Elder.    If you would like to learn more ways to reach customers in a more authentic, non-spammy way, join the other 14,000 network marketers in Brooke’s Facebook Group - Authentic Influencer Marketing.  Spam Squad episodes are every Friday.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Unlock the Secret of Getting It All Done   “First start by getting everything super organized of what needs to be done and what needs to be done in the future.”   Stacy Tuschl   In today’s podcast Brooke talks with Stacy Tuschl who has a consulting company that helps other small business owners get more customers in the door. She started an entrepreneurship right out of high school by teaching 17 kids dance classes in her parents' backyard. Within three years she had a hundred dancers coming. She now owns and operates two performing arts academies in Milwaukee and has about a thousand dance and music students that come every week.    Stacy has been grossing million dollars a year for several years. In the last five to 10 years, maybe people started asking, “how are you growing this business? Can I pick your brain? Can you teach me?” Five years ago she decided to start a consulting company that teaches people about implementing strategy and getting things done.    “Figure out what you do want and why you want that specific thing.” - Stacy Tuschl.   If you really want something, but yet you still will binge three hours of TV every single night, instead of working on what you need to do, or you find yourself scrolling on social media, when you should be working. You have to really stop and say, you don't really want it that bad. You've got to start to assess the things that you really want, what does that look like for you?    Sometimes people just give up too soon. They think they've implemented. They think they've tried it all and it just hasn't worked for them, but trying and doing and implementing and refining and maintaining are very different situations.   There are four phases of really getting it done and implementing it.   First  is learning, educating yourself, like really just being obsessed with that process of what will this entail? What does this look like? Then it goes to doing. Doing is the part that's hard for people, it’s messy and it's lots of failures. When you do and you fail and that's why so many people quit so fast.    The next stage is the refining. Refining is a massive skillset that you've got to get good at if you want to really start to implement, but it's not easy because it can take days, weeks, months, years, depending on what you're trying to do. The last piece is maintaining, which is - how do we check in? How do we make sure it keeps happening? And what is the lowest level of input we have to do to keep the maintenance.    “Slow down and organize your thoughts and ask yourself what are the priorities .” - Stacy Tuschl.    You can connect with Stacy on her podcast on Social Media called Foot Traffic where she discusses marketing ideas, systems and automation implementation. How to Communicate Effectively through Hard Conversations   “Your business is only as strong as the amount of hard conversations you've had.”   Brooke Elder   Today’s podcast is for all the introverts and those who don’t know what to say! Amy Smith joins Brooke in a conversation that dives into something that is a hush hush topic in network marketing. It's things that we all internally struggle with, but no one really talks about. Amy is an expert in really coming up with the language of what to say.    One of the big problems in network marketing is when people join a network marketing company, they have an upline who believes in them. They just want to be that people pleaser to their up line and want to do what they say. They want them to believe in them so much.    “People pleasing is the direct antithesis of authenticity..” - Amy Smith   People pleasing is essentially when you choose to make somebody else's wants opinions and needs more important than your own at a cost to self at a cost to your own happiness, fulfillment, core value system authenticity. Sometimes you need to buck the system a little bit and, and go rogue, so to speak, in order to actually be authentic.   If you're twisting and contorting your own behavior in order to make other people happy, or please them, that's being a liar.   The first thing that you should start looking at is how you feel about things. It's your intuition. And most of us are taught not to listen to that. And we kind of grow up in a society that tells us to be logical, to think things through, if this person's my authority, they must know better than I, and then we do the cognitive override, where we override our gut instinct.   Sometimes the method that is being presented to you doesn't resonate with your spirit. We will resist things when it's really not right for us and we will resist things when we're scared. Fear in and of itself is just telling you something,  it doesn't have to be bad or good. It just is. We need to be friends with fear and recognize that all it is is messaging and we just have to decipher what the message is.   Having a formula makes having those hard conversations so much easier. Write down your statements, start with gratitude or assuming positive intention, then an honesty about how something does or doesn't feel correct with you.  Practice these statements, preferably in a mirror, over and over again so when you are faced with hard conversations, you know what to say.   “It's not the goal that needs to change. It's the method of achieving that goal that needs to change. ” - Who Said It.    Amy has a website where she teaches how to speak up for yourself, how to feel like “enough”, and create some serious self-confidence. 3 reasons why no one is buying what you're selling   “You will never, ever, ever be successful marketing to the masses.”   Brooke Elder   In Podcast 129 Brooke talks about the three reasons why people aren't buying from you.  In our network marketing businesses we are always trying to get customers, to get people to see our products and to just get our name out there. The problem with all of that is you are marketing to the masses and you cannot market to the masses.    You will never, ever, ever be successful marketing to the masses. It's just not going to work. You don't have enough money. You don't have enough time. It's just not going to work. So why, what are the three reasons why people are not buying from you?   “You need to know who it is that you are marketing to.” - Brooke Elder   Who is your person? Who is your avatar, who is your target audience? Who is the person that you're really trying to help? That's the thing that you need to identify first.   When you're just leaving business cards in library books, or leaving your catalogs at doctor's offices, things like that, you're marketing to everyone. You're not marketing to your target audience. And you can't just say like, Oh, I'm marketing to moms, because that's 40% of the population, maybe you need to go more granular than that. You need to start thinking deeper and deeper. Who is that person really?   Another reason no one buys from you is no one knows who you are. This goes into why we need to quote unquote, get our name out there. But how do you get your name out there? You identify what is that one problem that you solve and that's the only thing that you ever talk about.   Once you have established your target market and what you have to offer to solve their problem, you need to focus on those people.    Having a website and a Facebook group that is very specific about the problem you solve is how you get your name out there. Everyone will know that that's what you are all about and you are going to be getting a ton of referrals. Then when you do post on social media you are going to be able to be seen as the expert in that one thing.    “When you come from a place of a servant heart you start showing people the value that you truly have.” - Brooke Elder.    The third reason why people are not buying from you is because you are not communicating your value.  This is where you start thinking about how can the unique gifts, talents, and strengths that you have serve others and help others. . Creating Your Own Offer to Scale   “This isn't about quick, get rich fast. It is about building a brand and building a brand takes time.”   Carrie Lupoli   In this podcast Brooke and Carrie Lupoli chat about how important it is to have your own offer when it comes to building your network marketing business. Carrie is a  health and nutrition coach and a former educator as well. She has a way of teaching health and nutrition that most people don't.    She realized that she could be her in her brand and use the products to enhance what she was teaching. It was hard to figure out at first, but after really understanding who her audience was and who she was and what people kept asking her about, she knew how it all  fit in.    “I think the really first big thing in branding is brand around a business name and concept and mission. .” - Carrie Lupoli.   When you start branding you need to think "who is it that I want to serve and who would be really great business builders?” That way they fit really well into your business because they already believed the things that you believed because they are your avatar.    Building a strong team is important, but focus on not growing super, super wide and fast with anybody, but look at people that will really want to be a part of your  business and who will be passionate about it.   What people usually tend to do is they think, “well, I just need to keep giving more and more value.” And they give so much and then offer something for so little that it gets to a point where they get burned out and think that it isn't worth it anymore. And the people that you're actually offering a program to, or something like that, it gets really overwhelming to them because there's just so much.    We always hear value, give value, give value so people can know, like and trust you. People interpret that as, “I have to keep coming up with new content. I have to keep in my group and in my emails just keep serving them.” In reality, it’s simplifying and less is more.   For example, have a theme for the month and then break it down each week. Repost all week long on that same topic so people are hearing it and seeing it in multiple ways. To truly understand something repetition is important. Repurposing is not the same as repeating.     “Consistency over time builds trust.” - Carrie Lupoli.    Those positive interactions that you have with people over time are essential. If you say, this is amazing, people wi;; end up wanting to buy it because you don’t it just because you want to make money, it’s because you truly want to share it. People will believe you because they truly know you’re going to show up for them and you’re going to talk to them, but it takes consistency over time. If you would like to connect with Carrie she has a free Facebook group that people can join, it's called Diet Disruptors.  You can also follow her on Instagram at Disruptive Nutrition.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! How to reclaim your confidence so you can  show up boldly, and authentically   “Confidence is just so key in so many things.”   Rochelle Marie   In today’s Podcast Brooke is talking with Rochelle Marie about how we can be more confident in what we're doing and show up more authentically. Rochelle is from New Zealand and currently lives in Australia. She is an internationally selling author and has a post grad certificate in Career development and education.    Her mission now is to empower and inspire a hundred thousand women into leadership roles where they can make a difference  and that all starts with confidence.   “You don't regret the things that you do. You only regret the things that you don't do.” - Rochelle Marie.   If you don’t  have a lot of confidence you need to  make yourself step out of your comfort zone and do things and not regret not doing them. You need to feel the fear and do it anyway.   Another way to gain confidence is to  listen to podcasts or a lot of books and start talking to a lot of the women who have already made it. Another area that is key as well and get into leadership roles.   One of the key areas is making things a micro habit, starting a micro habit in whatever it is that you're not confident in. The more that you set expectations of yourself and say, “okay, this is the thing that I'm going to do.” And then once you start building that you can get confidence in so many other areas because you're committed to yourself and you have that follow through.    It’s a big thing to be committed to yourself.  If you say you’re going to do something  it kind of also makes you really think about what you say and what you're committing to yourself. Whatever I say I'm going to do or not going to do, this is the line in the sand. When you adopt this thinking then you become very mindful about what it is you're committing to and there will be no more pie in the sky commitments.   Another tip is called creating an alter ego. Choose at least three people that you can see traits in them that you would love to embody. Be very clear on what those traits are and write them down. Once you've identified those traits, it's a matter of mashing them together. Generally you find that you're attracted to those traits because you did once have them. The more that you do that you actually start becoming that person you really want to be deep down inside.   “If you don’t have confidence to back you up, it makes going on the journey of Network Marketing so much harder.” -Brooke Elder.    If you are interested in reclaiming your confidence you can connect with Rochelle on her website www.herleadershipway.com where there will be a link for a confidence mini course you can sign up to for free. Don't be a spammy weirdo when you cold message people   “It’s all about creating conversations, it’s not about how many copy and paste messages you send.”   Brooke Elder   In Podcast 126 Brooke shares the first episode of Spam Squad, where she teaches how to not be spammy, but still get results. She walks through the psychology and motives of messaging and what it is you’re trying to accomplish and how to do it in an Authentic way.    Brooke gives examples of actual spammy messages that she and her team have found on social media. She walks you through why you shouldn’t post like that and what you can do instead.   “Think of what you’re really telling people when you send messages.” - Brooke Elder.   Sometimes when you don't know how to be authentic, or you're getting those copy and paste messages from your upline, and you're like, “this doesn't feel right, but I don't know what to do instead.”  That’s what this episode is going to do,  we're going to say, okay, this is what is not good. This is what good looks like. So that way we can really save everyone from all the spammy weirdos that are out there.    If you're having conversations with people, you need to have actual conversations with people. You can't just do copy and paste messages and throw them out. All the things that we are told to do in network marketing  just makes you look like you're desperate and it makes it look like you don't care about other people and it's not authentic.    When you send messages think “what is my motive?” If you're motivated by,  “I want them to join my team” or “I want them to buy my stuff,” it's never going to work - ever. But if your motive is “I'm here to serve”  and “I just want to see if there's any way that I could help this person” and that's why you're asking these questions, then that is how you are going to be able to actually build your business and grow.    One authentic way to start messaging is to use the “FROG” method. You want to ask open-ended questions, not yes or no, because you want them to engage. And if they give you back, like one word answers, it means that they don't want to talk to you.    F stands for Family, ask something about their family. R stands for Recreation, a great question especially now with COVID, what do they do for fun? O stands for Occupation. Occupation is where we start listening about how their job is going, are they looking for an opportunity. And then G stands for Goals. This is an awesome time to discuss goals because the new year has just started. Using the FROG method helps build a conversation, a connection and an authentic relationship.   “It's all about getting quality people to talk to and really creating a relationship. When you do that, you're going to come off authentic and you're not going to be spammy. .” - Brooke Elder.    If you would like to hear more examples on how not to be spammy and how to build an authentic business, check out the weekly episodes of SPAM SQUAD every Friday on the Authentic Influencer Marketing on Facebook.   How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Growing your business on pinterest   “The one thing people don’t understand about Pinterest is it’s a search engine, it’s essentially Google with pictures.”   Missy Campbell   Podcast 125 talks to Missy Campbell, an expert when it comes to Instagram and Pinterest. Missy has a business that helps people infuse minimalism into their business using social media strategy, implementation and podcast management. She shares simple tips that you can implement into your network marketing business.   Missy was obsessed with Pinterest and Instagram because as a photographer she loved visual things. They're such powerful platforms. A lot of people think of them as fun and I'm just posting pictures, but there is a bit of a strategy to it. If you can understand the why of it and how it works, it can really work for you and you can spend less time doing it and get a lot more benefit from using them.   “The point of Pinterest is traffic.” - Missy Campbell.   With every image that you make, you want to send somebody somewhere. It could be to your Instagram account, could be to your group. It could be to a page where they sign up to find out more from you like an email list, your Facebook page or however you have your funnel structured for people to connect with you. Really think outside the box because you’re  not just sending them to a blog post,  it's literally anywhere on the internet.   Pinterest is a fun way of marketing and understanding the basics is keywords. What phrases and words are people going to be searching for if they are interested in what you have to offer. That’s how you will create your board structure. Each one should be specific, related to the thing that you are selling. Really bring your personality to what you’re doing, but don’t keep it super professional and businesslike because people really want to connect with the human aspect.   The thing with Pinterest, and this is all compared to other social media, is that it’s really in the setup process, it gains momentum without you doing anything.   Once you have set it up and started pinning to collaborative boards and you've joined communities, you have created this ball and it just keeps rolling. It doesn't stop. And it's not like with other social media, Instagram, Facebook, you post and within a week, it's dissipated into the atmosphere. It's gone forever, mostly, unless it's viral. But with Pinterest, a pin can  have a lifespan of almost forever, there's pins that are 10 years old that still probably get pinned thousands of times a month.    The best part about Pinterest is you can really be yourself because it is so visual. It’s so easy to do because pictures say so much about who we are, what pictures we use, how we edit them, or even if we don't edit them, if they're raw that says something about us. Keep it true, just be you, really that is what people want.    “When you are posting, keep it conversational and friendly, not super professional, obviously you want to be an authority, but you want to be human too. Humanness is the more important piece.” - Missy Campbell.    If you can get in front of your person and say what you want to say, serve them, be there for them, show them that you're human, just like them. That's really the point of it. If you are interested in getting connected and learning more tips from Missy, she is on all of the platforms we talked about, Pinterest and Instagram and Facebook, @tasteofsimple at any of those places. Her website is www.tasteofsimple.com. Lyndsay knows how to get people to really start paying attention to your personal brand and does it in a way that will save you time and hours!   Lyndsay ran an export business and got a taste of entrepreneurial-ism. As she had her kids she started getting into the VA world, being a Virtual Assistant, and loved it. There was so much to learn and it was always changing. She loved the creative aspect of content marketing and started her own business.   “The thing I love about network marketing is the company is just a tool in your toolbox and you can really show what your gifts and talents really are through it.” - Brooke Elder.   When you are in network marketing, there's obviously a big company behind you, which is an amazing support system, but do not be afraid to individualize it and make it your own and show your personality and do extra things.   One great tip is don't just show the products, but really ask questions, get people's opinions. People want to share what they think and how they feel and what they use and share pictures of what they're doing with it. So make it fun.   Lyndsay explains how to take content and repurpose it. Repurposing is taking one piece of content and stretching it out to come up with a bunch of other ways to let your audience know what you have to offer using your tips, tricks and all of the things you have to serve them.  She shares how you can do this in a super easy way  that will give you even more content and things to talk about that will save you time and take the pressure off of what to post on social media.   Videos are a great avenue for people to consume content. They connect with people much faster, they read your face, they see you. They build that trust, they see you as an expert. So naturally they’re going to you to find out what the best care is or what products are better or whatever.    In your video, you’ve probably asked questions or shared three amazing tips. You can take little pieces of content out of that video and they become individual social media posts on their own. So in one video you can pull at least six extra posts and scatter them on social media throughout the week..   “Don’t be afraid to share your own experiences and what goes on during your day.” - Lyndsay Phillips.    People want to hear what’s going on in your day or what goes on behind the scenes. They want to connect with you and know what’s going on in your life. They want to connect with people that are a real human, like them. Why you're really not succeeding in network marketing - hype   “If you want to build a real sustainable business, you’ve got to get skills, you have to get help, it’s not the hype.”   Brooke Elder   In Podcast Episode 123 Brooke delves into the reasons why you may not be succeeding in your network marketing business. The one thing that kills a business faster than anything else is hype.    Companies want to build up this hype because when there’s hype, then people get excited. When they're excited, they push themselves out of their comfort zone. So of course, people know, companies know that if we can push people out of their comfort zone, it's going to be way easier for them to hit their goals and everything. And for them as a company to make more money, right? So that's why they build all the hype around everything.    “It takes dedication, anything worth doing does, because if it didn’t, everyone would be doing it.” - Brooke Elder.   Network marketing is an amazing vehicle. It takes care of all your customer service, product development, all of the legal issues. It takes care of all the “hard.” Your job as a consultant is to learn and get skills to  know sales and marketing, because if you are just relying on hype, there is nothing really tangible behind it.   It’s all about the user experience that you are actually providing people, whether it be through your products or through your opportunity. You need to talk about things in a way that will set the expectations the right way or it’s not going to work because you build up the hype and people have the wrong expectations.    When expectations are set the right way customers will stay customers and team members will stay on the team long- term. The industry average for a consultant to join a network marketing company is to stay  for three months, that’s it! The turnover is so high because most people join because of hype.   Why would anyone have a nine to five job if you could just sign up for a network marketing company and just sit back and make money. Posts that promise a work from home job that’s easy, just sign up and make money. That’s selling based on hype. Everyone knows that’s too good to be true.   Inside Social Tenacity’s Academy we teach how to recruit and build your business on a solid foundation with the tools and skills you need. You will learn how to talk to a recruit or potential customer and how to find out what their pain points are and the things they are struggling with and how to connect them back to what you are trying to sell them or with your opportunity. The 3 C's of Making Money on Social Media   “Do not be antisocial on social media.”   Owen Hone   In today’s Podcast Brooke chats with Owen Hone about building an authentic business using social media. Owen is the Founder & Head Coach at Authentic Creation, Personal Trainer, and Nutrition Coach.   Owen is from Australia and growing up he was incredibly shy, anxious and insecure. He was always trying to be somebody different for somebody else. He didn’t know how to be himself, how to be authentic. As a late teen, he turned to alcohol and drugs which led him down a pretty dark path. After getting into a car accident his dad gave him a personal development book. He read hundreds of books and listened to thousands of YouTube videos and podcasts. He was hooked on knowing that there was something possible than just what he was experiencing.   “If you keep doing the same thing, you will get the same result.” - Owen Hone.   How many of you have listened to a podcast or YouTube video and said, “that’s the best thing ever, so amazing!!” Then you wake up the next day and do the same as the day before?  You need to transition from “I want to be successful” to “I have to be successful.”   By blocking everything else out and go all-in on your business, you’ll find a way. You’ll ask more questions, you’ll do more work, you’ll keep showing up, even when it seems impossible. If you prepare to be in for the long haul, you’ll succeed.   Owen simplifies what can be potentially complex so you can amplify your results, your income and your impact by sharing the three C’s.   The first C is Content.  What do you post? What do you share? What do you do? Owen shares the magnetic content matrix that is a very unique blend of different kinds of content that gets your audience to know, like and trust you, so they’re ready to buy from you.   The second C is Connections. Connections is where you are literally taking time to block time in your calendar to go and find your target audience. Every like is a lead, every comment is a chance to make a new connection.   The third is Conversations. Interview your audience, get to know them, take an interest in them.  Find out what their biggest problems are and present what you have to solve them.   “Success is structural, not personal.” - Owen Hone.    If you want to learn more about the three C’s, check out Owen on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/theowenhone/) or on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/theowenhone/?hl=en).    How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com! Finding Your Inner Beauty   “I had to learn about me, what makes me work and find my beauty, because if God is perfect and He gives us all beauty, I have it.”   Kirstin Baxter     In today’s podcast we talk with Kirstin Baxter who has been in the Social Tenacity program for four years. She is the best example of having tenacity and stepping out of your comfort zone and doing hard things time and time again. She is an empath and growing up as she would try to connect with people and serve them she was told that she took things too seriously.    She felt that in some way she was flawed because she had a sensitive side. Her goal became to try and to be strong and serve other people and help them feel good in a way that wouldn’t make her feel like that flaw was taking over. She became a teacher for a few years and then took a sabbatical from teaching when she became a mom. She tried to find something that helped her feel more like herself and not only the mom of a child. “When you don’t love yourself already and don’t have self-confidence, it makes it really hard to step out of your comfort zone.” - Kirstin Baxter.   Something that we forget or push aside is that when we seek to be a new mom and want to be with our kids, we set up so many obligations and expectations for ourselves. We assume that this is what we're supposed to be. We're supposed to be amazing at breastfeeding. We're supposed to love to clean the house all day. We're supposed to want to make beautiful bows, to put on our kids' heads and all of that, and just enjoy staying at home. When we aren't finding all that joy, we feel like we're failing.   It is important to set a relationship with yourself and be authentic to who you are. Start keeping commitments that you made to yourself, like setting work hours or family time. Then find ways to celebrate little things that you do for yourself  and ways to love where you are at and who you are.   The way you can get over fear and doubt is courage and confidence. The way that we build confidence is by creating a space where we can keep promises to ourselves. When we are true to ourselves and true to our commitments, that’s also going to build confidence.   Sometimes you may have self negative thoughts, but you should never give up on yourself. Everyone has their own individual strengths. Once you discover what your strength is, you learn a lot about who you are and how your strength can help you in your own authentic way to serve the world.    When you recognize your inner beauty you will be able to influence the world in your own way. When you allow yourself to be your authentic self, you can serve others and help them even more to see their greatness. We all have our own light, but we all need each other.   “As we recognize the needs and the ways that we can give and work together, we can truly lift the world and be stronger together.” - Kirstin Baxter   We should stand like elephant moms. Instead of running away with fear, when a predator comes, they stand side by side with their back toward their young, toward the predator. And they stand in solidarity saying, go away predator, you have no place here. And the lion or whoever it is will give up and walk away. And these elephant moms don't look at each other and be like “her size, my goodness”, or “who am I to stand next to these ones? They're so much taller than me.” They don't do any of that. They say, no, we're strong because we're together. And because we're together, we will continue to be stronger.    How to get involved If you are ready to take your business online and have the system to free up your time AND bring in the customers and recruits you want, check out www.socialtenacitytraining.com!
