This episode features an interview with Bruce Cleveland, author of the best-seller “Traversing the Traction Gap" and CEO of Traction Gap Partners, a Market Engineering advisory firm.In this episode, Bruce outlines why most startups fail and explains market engineering, a term he coined  to represent the ideas around category design. He shares insights into creating a category and what goes into startup success. Key Takeaways:Market engineering involves the ideas around category design or redefinition thought leadership to create a category. There are distinct advantages to being a category leader; the category leader generates about 76% of  all the profits from a category. While there is a first-mover advantage, there are also some associated challenges.Thought leadership is an essential component of creating a category. People want to be around peers they admire, so gathering the right people together leads to an eventual tipping point that makes it easier for a company to sell.Quote:  One of the reasons that you need to actively be involved in the thought leadership part of category creation is people wanna hang out with other people who they think are smart, who have some cool ideas. And that I think happens with companies as well. So eventually some companies kind of climb out of the morass, the cacophony of, fighting the marketing battle and begin to emerge as the thought leaders in those. And then they collectively gather more people and more people. And finally there's a tipping point where that company is perceived as the category leader. And so it becomes really easy for those companies to then sell more.Episode Timestamps: *(02:26) The Trust Tree: Traversing the Traction Gap *(07:31) The importance of category design*(26:05) Thought Leadership in category creation*(35:39) How to evaluate startupsSponsor:Pipeline Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com. This episode features an interview with Louise Clements, CMO at WorkJam, the world leader in the digital frontline workplace, revolutionizing how HQs and their frontline workforces work together. In this episode, Louise discusses why she is no longer looking at attribution and is instead focusing on intent. She also dives into how she is using AI to automate and improve their marketing efforts and managing joint ownership of the funnel with sales. Key Takeaways:AI makes marketing better by giving the team more time to reflect and think. CMOs should be investing in automation. Marketing is increasingly owning go-to-market and jointly owning the funnel with sales. This is a bit of an evolution, and it allows you to focus on influence over attribution. Obsessing over first and last touch attribution is not useful. CMOs should focus on driving intent. Quote: “One thing that we've done is we've sort of stopped worrying about first touch and last touch attribution. I don't care. Is it ultimately working? You can drive yourself insane, worrying about specifics. Instead, it's looking at how all of those channels connect. And I think one of the greatest things in the last couple of years is, we've got these fabulous new tools. As B2B marketers, whether you use Sixth Sense or Demandbase or whatever, you can go in and understand intent in a way that we never could. So ,what I'm looking at is, are we driving intent? And then, let's time box that campaign and everybody who came in or who we touched. I want to understand what's the time lag? Are they going to come back? And I'm looking at things like that way more.”Episode Timestamps: *(03:41) The Trust Tree: The power of investing in PR *(15:28) The Playbook: Focus on driving intent *(41:05) The Dust Up: Agencies and fighting over scope*(42:30) Quick Hits: Louise's quick hits Sponsor:Pipeline Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com. This episode features an interview with  Laura Beussman, Senior Vice President of Marketing at CallRail, an intelligence platform that helps businesses track and attribute each lead to their marketing journey and use real-time insights to optimize their marketing. In this episode, Laura discusses their marketing strategy as a pure-play PLG where marketing generates all the leads, and how they reach prospects through a sub-verticalized approach. She also shares how they are leveraging AI for better SEO results. Key Takeaways:A sub-verticalized approach can improve efficiency and return on investment, helping to ensure that you are accurately speaking to customer needs. Learn about the sub-verticals in your market.Leveraging AI in your content efforts can really improve your SEO results, by allowing you to create more content that is specifically catered to sub-verticals in the market. When marketing takes full responsibility for generating all leads, it eliminates the tension with sales by offering clarity, improving operational efficiency and allowing sales to focus on closing deals.Quote:“ One of the ways that the team is really capitalizing on AI is on SEO content. Again, as a PLG, SEO is very important for us. And with those verticalized go-to-market strategies, we needed to create a high volume of content to support not just the verticals, but the sub verticals. So, we have developed a strategy on creating that SEO content that leverages AI. Now, it's not that the AI writes the content from top to bottom with no human assistance, but what we do is we educate the AI tools on our content guidelines. We create a robust draft of an outline. AI then converts that into an article. Our content team edits, and makes sure it's reflective of our brand and our voice before we publish. What we've been able to do with that, though, is triple the amount of SEO content we're able to produce. And what that means is that we're able to be really hyper targeted, really hyper verticalized, and we're actually ranking better. And it's not that we're ranking better because the articles are significantly better. It's because they are able to be more specific, because they are able to be more targeted and sub verticalized. That allows them to rank better as well.”Episode Timestamps:*(03:34) The Trust Tree: Operating in a marketing-led lead generation model *(17:25) The Playbook: Using hyper-targeted content to boost visibility and conversion rates*(36:14) The Dust-Up: Making sure sales feels supported by marketing *(39:08) Quick Hits: Laura's Quick Hits  Sponsor:Pipeline Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com, the #1 Conversational Marketing platform for companies that use Salesforce and the secret weapon for pipeline pros. Episode Summary In this episode of Sunny Side Up, Jordan Saucedo interviews Renny Fidlon on navigating challenges in ABM like a seasoned pro. Renny highlights the shift from lead-based models to strategic account approaches and emphasises aligning marketing with sales in B2B sales. He discusses common ABM pitfalls and the importance of showcasing ROI to leadership. Renny shares advice for B2B SaaS marketers, emphasising predicting client intent and providing value-added tools. He also stresses sales adoption as crucial when launching ABM platforms and suggests businesses pivot from sales enablement to buying enablement in the current unpredictable economy. Renny encapsulates the mantra "Do Less, Better" and consistently champions the need to showcase value to customers. About the Guest As VP of Marketing at SproutLoud, Renny Fidlon is responsible for building a predictable, repeatable revenue engine. He oversees SproutLoud's branding, marketing programs, product marketing, revenue operations, and sales development. With over 25 years in strategy and marketing, Fidlon has spent the last decade scaling high-growth Enterprise B2B SaaS and technology companies. Prior to SproutLoud, Fidlon led global marketing teams at Aria Systems, Optymyze, Softmart (acquired by Connection), and Audience Partners (acquired by Altice USA). Renny holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Pennsylvania. When not immersed in data, Fidlon spends most of his free time travelling, watching movies, and playing games with his wife and three children. Connect with Renny Fidlon Key Takeaways A successful ABM approach prioritises the needs of sellers and supports them in scaling their efforts strategically. Do Less, Better: Concentrate resources efficiently to get the best outcomes. Marketing's primary role is to support sales motions, expanding and prioritising them as needed. Beware the assumption that all buying group members are synchronised in their buyer's journey. For effective ABM, marketing should aim to connect with individuals that sales might overlook, often those at the top of the funnel. Manual tracking, while labour-intensive, can offer insightful statistics to underscore marketing strategies. Prioritise quality over quantity; it's about doing fewer things exceptionally rather than spreading oneself thin. Always prioritise long-term success over immediate, potentially superficial results. Sales adoption is paramount for the successful implementation of ABM platforms. First impressions matter: if sales teams aren't impressed initially, winning them over later becomes challenging. After the acquisition, customers should quickly see the value and be guided in measuring success over time. Turn customers into advocates by consistently showcasing the value provided. Quote “One of the biggest things that I see all the time is people trying to align their campaigns to a buyer's journey at the account level. The problem is that not all the members of a buying group or the influences of that buying group are in the same place in their buyer's journey.” – Renny Fidlon Recommended Resource The Lean Startup by Eric Ries Dan Pink - Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us Connect with Renny Fidlon  | Follow us on LinkedIn | Website

I explain that anxiety was not considered a medical condition until 1980 when it was included in the DSM-3. However, I emphasize that just because new disorders are added to the DSM doesn't mean they are new experiences for people. I share my own experience with anxiety in the 1970s when there was limited information and understanding of the condition. I believe that understanding the different diagnoses and terms associated with anxiety can be helpful, but the most important thing is to focus on calming the nervous system. I mention that a forward-thinking psychiatrist suggested that people should be free of caffeine before being prescribed psychiatric medications. Next, I discuss the six topics often mentioned in psychology and doctor's offices, starting with panic disorder and agoraphobia. Panic disorder involves fearing the panic itself, and agoraphobia is the fear of the debilitating effects of panic attacks. I stress the importance of compassionately exposing oneself to confront these fears and regain a sense of control. Moving on, the second topic is social anxiety disorder, which involves the fear of embarrassment in social situations. I explain that avoidance exacerbates the fear and isolation, but gradually exposing oneself to social situations can help overcome it. In this part of the podcast, we delve into specific phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Specific phobias involve excessive fear of ordinary things, and avoidance only perpetuates the fear. The key to overcoming specific phobias is gradual exposure to the feared object or situation. A passionate and energetic team player with the proven ability to deliver bespoke people solutions to suit specific business needs.Kevin discusses how Conde Nast uses their inclusion index, how “lateral agility” is improving leadership, and how they have helped navigate their employees through significant change within a now globally integrated organization. About Conde Nast:Condé Nast is a global media company, home to iconic brands including Vogue, The New Yorker, GQ, Glamour, AD, Vanity Fair and Wired, among many others. The company's award-winning content reaches 88 million consumers in print, 419 million in digital and 432 million across social platforms, and generates more than 1 billion video views each month. The company is headquartered in New York and London, and operates in 32 markets worldwide including China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico and Latin America, Russia, Spain and Taiwan. Launched in 2011, Condé Nast Entertainment is an award-winning production and distribution studio that creates programming across film, television, social and digital video and virtual reality. Key Takeaways:Measuring DE&I with the “inclusion index” What Conde Nast is doing to promote inclusive leadershipOrganizational transformation vs talent managementThe importance of lateral agility Quote:“One of the big focus areas is what we're calling “lateral agility”. Because what we found is we've certainly moved the needle in terms of the improvement of leadership and management in terms of what would be called vertical leadership in terms of the leadership of their teams and really focusing on elements such as the quality of feedback and career development and how they're supporting their teams. And we've seen major improvement in that regard. But the area where we see the opportunity is that the most successful leaders are spending just as much time collaborating in a highly effective manner with their cross-functional peers.” - Kevin StapSponsorThe Talent Blueprint is brought to you by Beamery. What's the point anymore? Is there one? If there was, he was blowing right past it with copious amounts of drugs. The card he never thought he'd draw had now become his reality. Rock bottom was inevitable. How did he get to this point? Quote: One path illuminated itself while the other remained in the dark. Talking Points: My mind, body, heart, and soul had gotten numb to the point where I'd lost every part of myself. My addictions to marijuana, cocaine, LSD, MDMA, and nicotine—or “my girls,” as I called them—could no longer provide me with solace in my pathetic existence. I needed something to push me over the edge and into the pit of eternal death. Sobriety! Can that even be possible, given that I was powerless in the face of my girls? When I researched success stories from former addicts, I realized that traditional rehab could be an option, but I was quickly deterred by the expense. I needed another way. Though Las Vegas was the grounds of my rock bottom, I refused to let that be my last memory of my time in Sin City. Instead, I chose to stay and rebuild my image. How did I get here? Well, I found my purpose in life, and that purpose is to help people heal from their traumas. Diane Vich Story Title: How COVID Triggered A Miracle Synopsis: Writing a story during the COVID pandemic triggers the miracle of memory and the strength to confront and share her repressed child abuse with her family. Quote: As a nurse, I know that during high-stress situations, it is normal for sex drive to diminish and physical health issues to arise. Talking Points: It was finally time for me to share my gut-wrenching child abuse story with my family. It all began when my Crappy to Happy book came in the mail, and I re-read my story. Forgotten memories and painful reality set in. My difficult decision spun me into an emotional defense mechanism; stress-induced amnesia. “I just knew I had to tell my story to support children facing hardships they also couldn't emotionally comprehend, especially when they emerged from being locked down with their abusers. I will be here for them.” However, I am truly grateful for each and every hardship I faced on my journey because it all made me the woman I am today. My mayhem did not destroy me. It was cathartic and made me stronger. And that is one of my many miracles. Writing was the miracle that carried me from the depths of despair and repressed memory to healing and teaching others to discover and live my true purpose. Why only talking about money brings the wrong recruits   “Quote One.”   Who Said Quote   In episode 150 Brooke shares another episode of the Spam Squad where she dissects an actual Facebook story post she saw and gives suggestions on how to post more authentically.   This is what the post said. “Would you be interested in a new job, a new experience, even if you already work, would you like an extra bit of cash? I work full time and still have time to sell.” Then it had a picture of her product and then says, “are you interested?” 67% said no.    “How do you talk about your products or your opportunity in a way that make people really want to join?” - Brooke Elder.   First is putting something out on social media. We all know we don't want to sell, we want to share. This is just a very simple word choice, but when we are deciding to share, instead of sell, that changes our motives.    So just tell your story. You can't really say that much in a Facebook or an Instagram story, so instead you could to do a three or four part story. You could also do a video of you talking about this instead and then you could still do the “are you interested?” Instead of, “are you interested?”  it could be, “do you want more information or do you want to see how I did this?” So tell your story. What is it that you did? It doesn't mean that you have to have this amazing story of like, “oh, I retired my husband...I was able to quit my full-time job...I make a million dollars,” like all of those things. We think that we have to have these big, huge milestones before people even pay attention to us, which simply is not true.   A milestone that you can talk about is “do you know how awesome it feels to have a car that now I don't have to worry about how am I going to make that car payment? Instead what I do now is put that money away into savings!”   It's all about stories and being able to connect to a situation that the people listening have been in.   “The greatest thing about network marketing is it's a business in box.” - Brooke Elder.    You don't have to worry about all the legal stuff, or product development. You don't have to worry about all the systems and automation of like, how do we ship these things from here to there. All you have to worry about is the customer service, making sure your customers are taken care of, the marketing and the sales, that's it.    If you want a step-by-step plan on how to be successful, join us in the Academy. Quote “One of the main benefits of spending time in nature is stress reduction.” – Richard Louv Welcome to the Sensory Strides podcast.  Observations of the world through activity, reading, listening, and everything else. The last few months I have not been as active as I normally am.  I had slipped into a depression and was struggling to come out of it. While I recognized my poor mental health status, one of the tactics I used was to eliminate the non-essential items on my list.  I am a list maker and there is always something to do on that list.  What I was realizing was my brain and body needed a break from some of those items.  So I took a step back from many of the external activities I am involved in and reduced my contributions.  While doing this, I also reduced my activity.  Even my activity was a list – either a training schedule or a weekly goal of so many minutes of movement. While stepping back helped me return to a stronger state of mind, the lack of physical activities may have slowed the progress.  My husband and I went for a walk last week and I realized how much those walks improve my mental state.  That time outdoors, even if my husband and I are talking or I am listening to a podcast or a book, allows my brain to take a break.  The fresh air invigorates me and refreshes my soul. I’m still struggling with keeping a good mental balance, recognizing those things I can control and those things I can’t control.  Of course, the things I can’t control are some of the pieces that are weighing heavily on me right now.  I need to recognize there is only so much I can do and I need to let go of those things that I can’t do.  This is a difficult balance.  I have a great support system, but I am my hardest critic and I need to give myself grace. I hope you give yourself grace for those items you can’t manage and remember to keep the activities that keep you fulfilled in the forefront, even as you may need to let go of other things. Thanks for joining me.  Be sure to check our show notes for links to inspiration items and …  don't forget to stop and smell the roses. Oct 30, 2020: Democrats Investigate Family Separations

AM Quickie

Welcome to Majority.FM's AM QUICKIE! Brought to you by justcoffee.coop TODAY'S HEADLINES: Joe Biden promises to use the powers of the presidency to reunite families separated by Donald Trump’s border policies. And a new report by Congressional Democrats sheds new light on just how cruel those policies have been. Meanwhile, an incident database reveals that not a week has gone by through much of this year without a case of police brutality against protesters and journalists in the United States. In that way, the new civil rights movement has a lot in common with the old one. And lastly, many first-time voters will arrive at the polls next week as veterans of political protest. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that this year’s youth vote is projected to break all records, and is overwhelmingly anti-Trump. THESE ARE THE STORIES YOU NEED TO KNOW: Campaigning in Florida yesterday, Joe Biden announced he would sign an executive order on the first day of his presidency establishing a task force to find the parents of five hundred and forty five children who remain separated from their families as a result of Trump’s grotesque immigration policies. Also yesterday, the Washington Post reported that Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee released a lengthy report on the matter. The report purports to be the first complete narrative of the Trump administration’s so-called zero tolerance policy that separated thousands of migrant children from their families. The report is the result of a two- year investigation. It found QUOTE reckless incompetence and intentional cruelty ENDQUOTE within the program. And it warns that hundreds of children may never be reunited with their parents. Lawyers estimate that as many as five thousand four hundred children were taken from their parents under the separation program, the Post reports. The policy targeted Central American families at the US southern border. The Trump administration ran a pilot program in El Paso in 2017 before expanding it in 2018, despite concerns that there was no orderly way to track the children and their families once they were separated. Trump later rescinded the policy after an international outcry. The committee also found that more than eight hundred and sixty complaints involving family separations were filed with the Homeland Security Department. The complaints include claims that minors were mistreated while in custody, such as an 8-year-old who was kicked or hit with a shoe by Customs and Border Patrol officers to wake him up. Who will pay for this terrible crime? The families must be reunited, and justice done. Police brutality cases mapped Since the end of May, there has not been a single week without an incidence of police brutality against a civilian or a journalist at a protest in the US, the Guardian reports. According to data collected by Bellingcat and Forensic Architecture and analysed by the Guardian, at least nine hundred and fifty instances of police brutality against civilians and journalists during anti-racism protests have occurred in the past five months. The database shows more than one thousand violations, including: - more than five hundred of instances of police using less-lethal rounds, pepper spray and teargas; - sixty incidents of officers using unlawful assembly to arrest protesters; - five attacks on medics; - and eleven instances of kettling. The data is probably an undercount as it only contains documented and verified incidents, per the Guardian. Portland had the highest number of recorded instances, at two hundred and nineteen. Seventy-six incidents took place in New York City, sixty in Seattle, fifty-four in Minneapolis and forty-nine in Los Angeles. And no doubt a few in your town, too! Another troubling detail from the data is how police have handled rightwing extremists, who have frequently come out to counter-protest anti-racism demonstrations. Nineteen incidents show police being permissive to far-right members and treating white supremacists favorably at protests. One notable instance took place in Washington, DC, where the Ohio National Guard deployed a known neo-Nazi to the anti-racism protests taking place in the city. That’s certainly an interesting way to serve and protect... Historic youth vote projected The Washington Post reports that youth voter turnout is set to reach historic levels this year. Data on early voters and recent polling suggest eligible voters under thirty could break their historic 2008 turnout, when it peaked at forty-eight percent when Barack Obama was elected. A new national poll released this week by the Institute of Politics at Harvard’s Kennedy School showed Joe Biden’s lead among young voters has increased in recent months. About sixty-three percent of likely voters ages eighteen to twenty nine say they support Biden, compared to the twenty-five percent supporting Trump. Voters under thirty increasingly view voting as a major part of their civic engagement, along with protesting and posting about politics on social media, the Post reports. Many students voting for the first time this year have been politically active since middle and high school. The Harvard poll found that eighty-two percent of respondents cited voting as one of the most effective ways to create societal change, up from seventy-four percent in 2017. Biden is seeking to juice youth turnout this week with a new ad airing on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. That oughtta do it. Both Biden and Trump were campaigning in Florida yesterday. Biden told supporters there QUOTE You hold the power. If Florida goes blue, it’s over ENDQUOTE. NBC News reported that medics were being called every few minutes at the Trump rally in Tampa on account of the high heat, and a dozen people were hospitalized. Trump also canceled an event last night in Fayetteville, North Carolina as Tropical Storm Zeta brought strong wind gusts to the area. The weather gods are not on his side lately. Both campaigns have events scheduled today in Minnesota. And on Saturday, Biden will hold a joint rally in Michigan with his old boss, Obama. Meanwhile the Boss, Bruce Sprinsgteen, released a sentimental appeal for his fans to vote out the Republicans on November 3rd. Which is just around the corner of this weekend. Are you nervous? We feel you. AND NOW FOR SOME QUICKER QUICKIES: The journalist Glenn Greenwald announced that he is resigning from the media organization he co-founded, the Intercept, claiming censorship. Intercept management meanwhile says Greenwald threw a tantrum and resented being edited. Such drama! Greenwald self-published the column at issue, which took aim at Joe Biden, and will no doubt air his complaints further on Tucker Carlson’s show very soon. Three people were killed in a knife attack at a church in the southern French city of Nice (NEESE) yesterday. French President Emmanuel Macron called it an Islamist terror attack and announced the deployment of seven thousand members of an anti-terror security force throughout the country. The attack comes two weeks after the beheading of a public school teacher and amid another uproar about the publication of Islamophobic cartoons. Britain's Labour Party suspended former leader Jeremy Corbyn yesterday over his response to a report on antisemitism in the party. In a statement, Corbyn said QUOTE One antisemite is one too many, but the scale of the problem was also dramatically overstated for political reasons by our opponents inside and outside the party, as well as by much of the media. That combination hurt Jewish people and must never be repeated. My sincere hope is that relations with Jewish communities can be rebuilt and those fears overcome ENDQUOTE. Walmart has removed gun and ammunition displays from thousands of US stores ahead of next week’s presidential election. A company spokesman explained that the move was a precaution in the event of QUOTE civil unrest ENDQUOTE. I repeat: Are you nervous? SAM: That’s all for the AM Quickie. Author of The Weight is Over, Trent Mozingo DC joins us today!I grew up on a farm in Southeastern Indiana, where my family worked hard to make ends meet. We raised beef cattle, crop farmed corn and soybeans, and even raised a garden from which we canned vegetables to preserve them for the winter. Chickens frequently ran around the barn lot, and I can remember climbing around on the stacks of hay with my sister to search for chicken eggs to be gathered for breakfast. There were seldom dull moments on the farm with the raising of animals, and it seemed like every week some pigs would escape from their makeshift fenced lot and make their way into the front yard, where they would root up the lawn with their noses, looking for fresh grub. This would generally turn into an eventful morning because we would have to turn the acre of sod back over and try to fit each piece back to where it came from, like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle. Tending to the farm was a never-ending job that consisted of grinding feed for the animals, baling and stacking hay for days on end, and endless hours behind the wheel of a tractor tilling the soil for planting. Quote: “One of the biggest challenges that we face today regarding our health is the mixed emotions of who is responsible for it.” — Trent Mozingo Twitter: @MozingoDC I am the youngest of four children; in order of oldest to youngest—Travis, Troy, Tiffany, and Trent (that’s me). As you can probably imagine, our names would get mixed up quite often. Travis and Troy are nine and seven years, respectively, older than me, and my sister Tiffany, is two years older. Tiffany and I grew up thick as thieves. We were always bouncing around the farm looking for adventures, probably a little spoiled because our older brothers were taking care of most of the grunt work of farm life. Travis and Troy were like mentors to me. I always wanted to be just like them, so I would spend as much time analyzing their every move as I could. Still to this day, I feel like the little brother that’s trying to follow in their footsteps. Our parents allowed us a great deal of free-thinking growing up. We had strong principles such as “Work comes before play” and “Always help a neighbor in need.” These embraced our daily lives. It always seemed like farm life provided a lot more work than play, but looking back on the years of growing up, I can see how it’s how I got to this point of my life. There is no debate: hard work pays off. As I write this, I am nostalgic about the undeniable blessing that my life has received. Our parents were not hovering parents; they allowed and demanded us to take responsibility for our own actions. They also helped each of us build confidence within ourselves to take on the tasks that lay in front of us. There were times that making ends meet were more difficult than others, but there was never a time that money was wasted on paying to do things that we could do ourselves. Ours was a small farm; that meant our equipment was old and not under warranty. When the tractor broke down, we had to fix it. When the lawnmower blades became dull, we had to sharpen them ourselves. When we wanted a treehouse, we had to build it. The confidence that our parents instilled in us certainly started my brothers and me out on the right foot. I can remember, as a small child, lying on the dirt floor of our barn holding a wrench for Travis or Troy as they worked to put a new axle into the back of our combine harvester. That was so they could make it a four-wheel-drive machine instead of two-wheel. During the harvest season that year, it rained constantly, turning our fields into a muddy mess. Without four-wheel drive, our combine would have been unable to reap the crops; thousands of dollars would have been lost. We had no formal education on mechanics. We had no teacher to explain how to do mechanical things. John Deere mechanics were not there to help us. We were gifted the opportunity...

Cool, right? What a wonderful way to start off the new year! I want to remind you that although we are on a childless not by choice journey, a journey we did not plan when we were seven and playing wedding with our dolls or writing little love notes to the cute boy in 6th grade. Or maybe you married the love of your life only to realize there would be no natural born children. You are still on this planet for a reason. Once you face the fact that you will not have children, and whether you adopt, you must decide what you will do with the rest of your life. Will you blend into the background of life, existing, deciding not to show up for your own life?  Opting to live with a level of unhappiness that exists just beneath the surface. An almost, not quite sadness that brews just beneath the surface? A seething bitterness, anger, envy, or fear of growing old and alone. Your prayers, dreams, hopes, and wishes smashed to pieces. OR, you, we, can CHOOSE to face all that negativity squarely in the face; however, it manifests: family, friends, frienemies, and strangers; and CHOOSE to create the life you would like to live. With that, here is part one of the list. Listen to episode 79, for part two.         The list: There were many wonderful women to choose from. It was tough to narrow it to 10, you know, the typical top 10 list; but that 11th person I just could not leave off. How I decided: I chose women from around the world I chose women from different walks of life I chose women from different socioeconomic levels I chose women who made a global as well as local impact with their lives. I chose women who made an impact in just about every industry: medicine, music, religion, politics, social justice, and the arts. Well, almost every field. Well, without further ado, may I present the list: Dr. Audrey Evans—Born in York, England, 1925.  Life’s work: Pediatric Oncology. She “developed the Evans Staging System for neuroblastoma, a malignant hemorrhagic tumor of the adrenal medulla that occurs mainly in infants and children.” She also co-founded the Ronald McDonald House. I posted two links below. One is a link of more information on Dr. Evans, the other is an awesome video where she is interviewed. I purposely did not say too much about Dr. Evans because that video says it all. It will leave you speechless.  https://cfmedicine.nlm.nih.gov/physicians/biography_106.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hstjG19OjkA  (I LOVE this video)   “Rosa Louise McCauley Parks (1913 – 2005) was an African American civil rights activist and seamstress whom the U.S. Congress dubbed the “Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement”. Parks is famous for her refusal on 1 December 1955, to obey bus driver James Blake’s demand that she relinquish her seat to a white man. Her subsequent arrest and trial for this act of civil disobedience triggered the Montgomery Bus Boycott, one of the largest and most successful mass movements against racial segregation in history, and launched Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the organizers of the boycott, to the forefront of the civil rights movement.”  In other words, she was a catalyst! I know she did not get up that morning thinking ‘I think I will be a catalyst today!’ For more information on Ms. Parks, please view the link below.  https://www.biographyonline.net/humanitarian/rosa-parks.html   Mother Teresa (1910–1997) was a Roman Catholic nun who devoted her life to serving the poor and destitute around the world. She spent many years in Calcutta, India where she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to helping those in great need. In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and became a symbol of charitable, selfless work. In 2016, Mother Teresa was canonized by the Roman Catholic Church as Saint Teresa. One of her famous quotes was: “It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.” See the link below for more information on Mother Theresa. https://www.biographyonline.net/nobelprize/mother_teresa.html    “Mary Cassatt (May 22, 1844-June 14, 1926) was an American artist best remembered for her paintings depicting the intimate bond between mothers and children. She was one of the leading artists of the Impressionist movement and along with Marie Bracquemond and Berthe Morisot, she is counted amongst the greatest female artists of her time.   For more information on Mary Cassatt, click the link below.  https://www.thefamouspeople.com/profiles/mary-cassatt-6066.php   Joan of Arc (1412-1431) is a French heroine and Roman Catholic saint. Born in obscurity to a peasant family, she traveled to the uncrowned Dauphin of France, advising him to reclaim his French throne and defeat the English. Joan of Arc was sent alongside French troops to the siege of Orleans and rose to prominence after the siege was lifted after nine days. She was later captured and burned at the stake for heresy. However, as she predicted, seven years after her death, France was reunited with the English defeated and Charles crowned King. Quote: “One life is all we have, and we live it as we believe in living it. I interview the creator of the powerful and simple healing technique “The Emotion Code”. This is something I have personally benefited from tremendously. It’s an amazing technique and he gives it to you for free in this episode!
Dr. Bradley Nelson is a chiropractor by training and is the developer of the Emotion code and the Body code, which are powerful healing systems based upon the finding and releasing trapped emotions using muscle testing to access the knowledge of the subconscious mind.He shares examples of what happened with clients, shares testimonials of what can be expected, and walks you through an example of how the process of the emotion code works by sharing various examples of how it works. QUOTE: “One of the beauties of the emotion code is that we bypass the conscious mind. The conscious mind doesn’t know. Your conscious mind can overload and forget things, but your subconscious mind remembers everything and that is what we tap into with the emotion code. It might sound weird, but it’s actually really really simple, and anyone can do it."
