Ms. Kristina Blake is making a name for herself. But it may not all be for good reasons. Who is she?Watch Part 1 VideoShe's a "content creator", or aspiring content creator, who at the time of this interview had been unemployed for nearly a year. To add to that, she resides in one of Uptown Charlotte's premier residential towers. But while most people in her situation would just go and seek full time employement, Ms. Blake has a different plan. After her first successful campaign raised $6,000, she decided to go back to the well, or her followers, to ask for a substantial donation. She wants $30,000.In this interview, I ask her just who the f#@k she thinks she is. I also ask what type of jobs is she willing to do.One of her reasons for requesting donations is to buy equipment needed to create the content she wants to create. Equipment such as a camera and a laptop. My response, just use your phone. In my opinion, the good content creators work with what they have. Not having equipment shouldn't be the reason you're unable to create good content. Their so easy to use and convenient. I get it. Doing work for free is the best way to learn and perfect your processes and testing your product. This gives you room for error. If you mess things up for the "customer", it doesn't matter, because you're working for free.In these stages, it's not even about the customer. Of course, you'll want their feedback. But this is all about testing your product.
When most business owners think about having videos done for their business, they think about videos for their external customers. These are the people paying for their services or buying their products. You internal customers, or employees, need videos too. Videos that train them on company policies and safety are a couple of examples.A one-time investment in these videos can save money for years to come.
I always advise my clients to prepare a script before filming their content. What I find with most business owners, though, is that they don't have time to do that. As part of my service I offer to have a script prepared by a professional video script writer.Having a script makes it easier to film and edit their video. It takes the pressure off of the subject and having to remember their lines and reduces the amount of takes we have to do.
