You have all the answers you need within you! In this episode I share a story of how I reached out to a mentor for feedback, and found myself in a familar place. One where I would let someone else's thoughts or beliefs hold me back. Now this mentor did something different, and so did I. This mentor encouraged me to ask myself how I felt about what I was asking. I realized I was looking for validation, for permission to do something that I already knew I wanted to try. I started looking back at different times in my life where I was seeking permission and when I didn't get it right away I backed out. I listened to the other person rather than myself. I'm empowering you to realize that if there's something you want to do or try don't let someone else's thoughts or opinions stop you! Or get yourself a coach or mentor who will ask you what you want to do!!!

It's more than just thinking about what you appreciate in your life. It's about truly taking a moment to feel that gratitude within your body. Feel the emotions of love, peace and joy. In 2018 I quit my full-time job because I wanted to live my life on my terms. I didn't want to be tied to a desk, I wanted to have freedom of time to pick my kids up from school without needing or requiring after school care. I wanted to take them to the park in the summer in the middle of the day on a Wednesday simple because I wanted to. It wasn't just about creating my own business, but finding a way to live my life on my terms. To find a work/life balance that fulfilled my needs as a working mom. I did just that by constantly following my heart, listening to my intuition and taking calculated risks. You can do that too!!! I can't tell you what you want for your work/life balance, but I can tell you that whatever you want is possible!
Just as the seasons change so does our life. We are constantly moving in a new direction, and repeating the cycle over and over again. We may change what we do, but the cycle remains the same.....First....plant the seedsSecond...take care of the seeds giving it water and sun to growThird...waiting for it to grow and flourishFourth...harvesting your good workEach year, each day, each month we go through seasons. Learn to give yourself grace by first determining where you are in your life. Whether it's as a parent, in a relationship, with your business. Honor that season and thank it for being where you are, knowning that you are growing to get to the next stage.
What we believe to be true isn't always truth....actually most of the time it's a story that we've created in our head and repeated over and over again until we believed that it was truth. If you want to make changes in your life you must find these beliefs and show yourself that they aren't true and create more empowering beliefs. I have had to do this time and time again as I pivoted from working full-time, to full-time entrepreneur to part-time employee and part-time entrepreneur. I've recently made a change in my beliefs around food and exercise and I finally started eating better and losing weight that I've been carrying around for 5 years.

There is a ripple effect to the Coronavirus. It doesn't just affect us individually, or our family unit it affected everyone around me. The worry, the fear the doubt. Yet not one medical professional told me to ensure I was taking care of my mental health. Thankfully I have a bunch of tools in my tool box already that I leaned on heavily last week. Last week my son and I were tested (both negative), but the emotional toll it took on me was exhausting. Having to deal with taking my 5 year to get tested, then telling work I wouldn't be coming in, having my son home all week while I took Zoom meeting after Zoom meeting. If you find yourself in a space where your mental and emotional health is at risk, I highly recommend you do these 3 things to ensure you are taking care of you: 1. Journal all your feelings and emotions2. Find quiet time - meditate!!! 3. Change your surroundings - go for a long week or get away for a day or 2
We all have dreams, and it's easy to dream, it's not always easy to take action on those dreams. Our egos tend to get in the way because the action required of us is scary and uncomfortable. But if you find yourself inspired to take action and you're afraid then trust yourself to know you are doing exactly what you need to do! We must know where we want to go, but we don't need to know every single step, we just need to do the next step. It's the small forward motion that will create the momentum we need to get to our dreams!!
I'm a woman and I follow a 28 day cycle, my body and my mood fluctuates with this cycle. So 9 months ago I started actively following my cycle. I paid attention to where I was in my cycle. Then in May 2020 I went off of birth control completely and allowed my body to regulate itself. Through the practice of tracking my cycle and now actively seed cycling I noticed some major shifts each month. I'm slowly becoming more aware of times of low energy and times of high energy. Through this awareness I'm using my cycle to plan out my schedule, take rest when I need it and eat differently. When we as women listen to our bodies we can become advocates for ourselves. We can ask for what we need, when we need it. We also understand why we may be more tired and instead of pushing through that feeling and forcing ourselves to feel a different way we can lean in and allow ourselves to flow through the different parts of our cycle.
Having courage is about taking action in spite of fear! The fear will always be there and if we wait for the fear to go away we'll never take the action. Inspired by recent conversations around courage, confidence, fear and showing up consistently for our business and our lives I'm sharing with you what I've learned. Do you use intuition in your work? Do you take the time to listen to your intuition and when you do, do you even believe in it? I pride myself on being strong-willed and making decisions with my life based on if things feel right or not. Except when it comes to certain parts of my work, especially new ideas and projects. I've always held back thinking my idea weren't good enough, or I didn't have enough experience to really try something new. I've carried this limiting belief into my own business. Starting this business I knew I'd be able to let my creativity flow because it's all mine, except I let this belief continue to hold me back. Waking up early is something leaders in the self-development world preach. It's also something I do and have done since I was in high school. Yet, even after all these years of waking up early it's still a challenge. My husband and I started a new routine last week and he started waking up early with me. We'd do our own morning routine, or as I like to call it intentional time. Then we'd meet up and workout together. On Wednesday morning I said to him "You know after all these years you'd think it be easier to get out of bed early in the morning." In this episode I'm sharing with you tips on how I work to get myself out of bed, because even though it's a challenge it's always worth it!!!
