When I reverse engineered the process that I went through to transform myself and my relationship the first step was believing I could. I know, I know... This sounds like a bunch of B.S. and fluff. It might, but ultimately who cares if it works! Unfortunately changing a belief isn't necessarily easy. Fortunately, there is a process for it and is fundamentally possible for any person. If you are struggling right now in your relationship and you are frustrated that you keep running up against the same problems, then changing certain beliefs about yourself and your relationship is probably the first step to receiving new results. This is the first step in my program "Emotional Evolution Process" because I am convinced that this is the initiating step to becoming a better man to cultivate a better relationship. 1DAY ONEChanging Your BeliefsIf you aren’t where you’d like to be, then there’s a good chance that your mindset isn’t either. Before you go any further, let’s touch on what your mindset really means. It’s your deeply held beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that reflect how you perceive yourself, others, and situations. Your mindset influences how you respond to these as well. Today is the day to change that.Now, be honest with yourself. What type of baggage are you carrying around when it comes to your relationship with sugar? It’s okay if you don’t know specifically, but if you’re being truly honest with yourself then you’ll have a fairly good idea. You can’t change your beliefs until you challenge them, and now is the time to do this. I didn’t think that I had stories around my food I just thought I lacked willpower. I kept thinking that if I could just find the “right” eating plan then I’d be on my way. If I just had the right FB group or the right knowledge, then I’d be on my way. OR maybe if I had enough will power i could get it done. I blamed myself, I blamed my stress, I blamed my kids because they had sweets here...really it was my belief around sugar that has had me stumped!Think about the following statements and ask yourself whether you believe them to be true. I come from a family of sugar addicts; we just love desserts and celebrate with sweets on every occasion.I’ve literally tried everything, there isn’t anyway I can stop eating sugar.There is too much sacrifice required me To Overcome my sugar addiction successfully.I just don't have the time to cook.I Can't Afford To Buy The Right Type Of Food.My Schedule Won't Allow Me Prepare Meals/snacks in advance.I'd Be More Willing to work hard To Overcome Sweet cravings if I knew it would definitely work.Know how To stop Eating Sugar;I’ll do it when I’m ready.Be open and honest with yourself as you consider the statements above. What we believe to be true isn't always truth....actually most of the time it's a story that we've created in our head and repeated over and over again until we believed that it was truth. If you want to make changes in your life you must find these beliefs and show yourself that they aren't true and create more empowering beliefs. I have had to do this time and time again as I pivoted from working full-time, to full-time entrepreneur to part-time employee and part-time entrepreneur. I've recently made a change in my beliefs around food and exercise and I finally started eating better and losing weight that I've been carrying around for 5 years.

If we aren't trusting love, we're trusting fear. The opposite of trusting truth is trusting lies. When we refuse to trust God, we're left trusting a resource that's less powerful and less trustworthy than a loving heavenly Father. None of us have trust issues; we have issues with the stuff we trust. Behavior is the echo of belief. For example, if I eat a sleeve of Oreos, it might be true that I KNOW better, but I BELIEVE it's ok to do the wrong thing. The same is true for the ways we relate in our closest and most casual relationships. In this episode, we encourage you to answer this question for yourselves: "What stories are you telling yourself? And, are they true?" We share some of the stories we've been telling ourselves that are true--and not true. Doug's journaling about these questions is powerful. Janet has believed some significant lies and now her life is changing because she's trading those lies for truth. Your life can change, too. Ari Weinzweig is the co-founder of Zingerman’s Community, a chain of delis with purpose. Ari and his business partner, Paul Saginaw, opened their first deli in 1982 with a $20,000 bank loan. Today, Ari and Paul have over 700 employees and their business grosses around $60 million in annual sales. Named one of the world’s top ten CEOs by Inc. Magazine, Ari has a world of knowledge on how to lead a purposeful business no matter what industry you’re in. Ari had no dreams or desires of owning a business. In fact, he had pretty negative beliefs about business, growing up. After he graduated college, he got a job as a dishwasher to try and ‘figure things out.’ This is where Ari met his now business partner, Paul Saginaw, who was the general manager at the restaurant. After 40 years later, Ari says that they — still — like each other and are good friends. An important lesson Ari learned from Paul was that business is merely a tool. It’s not the tool itself that’s the issue, it’s how it’s used. This concept completely changed Ari’s belief about business. It sounds odd, but Ari never really thought about the impact of beliefs in business on a fundamental level until about 5 years ago, despite already incorporating (almost subconsciously) strong beliefs into his businesses. Everything people ever do is based on beliefs. Every action they take is based on their set of beliefs. So, it makes sense why also bringing beliefs into a business, and making them clear, helps the business thrive on new levels.
