We build NBA rosters by randomly picking teams (what would you have done?) and cover the first third of the NBA season.

Julien and Jaeho chat all things baseball and cover the World Series between the Braves and Astros. 

We talk about the Giants Dodgers game 5 check swing call, the longevity of players in modern sports today, the effect technological and medical innovation has had on athletics, the first athlete to be diefied, what a good day in the office looks like for Westbrook, and how to handle COVID vaccination status for NBA players (Kyrie and Wiggins as two examples)

We reconvene with a wide ranging session covering the Baseball playoffs and an interesting historical discussion about PEDs and eras defined by rule changing. Then, we cover the Ballon D'Or list and discuss how goalkeepers are judged today. Lastly, we cover the NBA preseason and talk about the foul baiting rule changes and the new-look Bulls. 

We look at free agency moves across both soccer and basketball during the back half of the 2021 summer. 

We break down the 2021 NBA draft from the top heavy lottery picks to some of the winners/losers of the night, and teams positioning themselves for the upcoming years. 

We look back on two great tournaments, their results, and lessons. 

We cover a lot of ground this episode. We start with the NBA WCF and ECF and talk about the Bucks' response without Giannis, the nature of the Hawks team roster construction, and CP3 and Monty Williams sharing a touching moment. Then, we move to the Euros beginning at the round of 16 including the most exciting game so far (France v. Switzerland) and some broader themes of the tournament (PKs and VAR). Finally, we finish with some Copa America analysis that essentially boils down to Tirtho claiming that Copa is more fun than the Euros because of less intentional polish and Messi. An NBA playoffs episode where we cover the last two rounds worth of action and dig into the conference finals. We talk about the injury bug throughout the league (Kawhi's leg, Harden, Nuggets entire roster, Lakers ... ), different coaches and their strengths (Ty Lue, Doc, Carlisle), Buck's finally figuring themselves out, and the rise of Trae Young's legacy. We get together to talk about the semifinal results of the Champions League. Tirtho finally gets to watch Real Madrid lose, and speculates on Ramos leaving. Julien enjoys a PSG flame out and points out some sketchy commentary. Adith chooses Chelsea over Man City, choosing to be patriotic. We also talk basketball and the intensity of late season regular season games, Dennis Shroeder's tell-all interview in German, and playoff matchups we'd love to see. Adith rants about the Lakers. 

We break down the Clippers and the culture of the team, discuss the playoff picture and some sleeper Eastern conference teams (Wizards, Hawks). We tip our hats to Curry, and favor him to win the MVP. Tirtho suggests that Embiid is in fact Hakeem but stronger and more physical. Lastly, we begin to dig into the now defunct Super League and the implications of such a league  - more to come on this next week!

We dive into Liverpool, and take turns wearing the manager hat to discuss changes to right the ship. We cover the rest of the quarterfinal games and Adith predicts that Real Madrid win the Champions League this year. 

We talk Ozil and Arbeloa, Barcelona, and the Prem. Parth joins the show to chat about baseball and this season's expectations (Tirtho predicts Yankees win the World Series). We dig into a venture fund that pays MiLB players up front salaries in exchange for a slice of any future MLB contracts. Finally, we talk basketball and the infamous CP3 fade away elbow jumper off the pick and roll. 

We dig into the Atlanta Hawks including Trae's development, John Collins, Playoff Rondo and Lou "Chicken Fingers" Will.  We consider the sharp drop in JJ Redick's production and compare it to other three point shooters ailed by seemingly simple injuries (e.g. Kyle Korver). Finally, we also break down the Hawks' matchup against potential playoff teams (Knicks, Hornets, and Heat), and a West Coast tour of the playoffs (Pandemic P and Jokic's mismatches). 

We dig into the post-trade deadline world of the NBA - diving into the Nuggets, Lakers, Clippers, Nets, and Magic. We also break down how the play in tournament has added more competitive fire to middling teams (e.g., Kings). Adith and Julien present a thesis for a different type of NBA structure where less games, an expanded play-in tournament, and better commentators (WNBA players calling NBA games and vice versa; highlight tired commentary techniques; call out the local broadcasters' ability to read the game like Mychal Thompson, Walt Frazier, etc.). 

We dig into the Champions League quarterfinal preview and revisit the round of 16 results including some memorable storylines and matchups. Tirtho shares his honest opinion on Real Madrid. We also look at post-All Star Break performances and the continued case for LaMelo as ROY over Edwards (Win shares and efficiency). 

We discuss the USMNT's talent depth with respect to citizenship granting policies, forward talent, transcendental talent, Tim Howard vs. Belgium, and the potential one-sidedness of the current squad. We dive into the case for LeBron as MVP via a consistency argument. We compare Messi and LBJ in terms of controlling the game, and the opposite nature of Messi and Curry's approach to dominating a game. Join us as we take a tour around the Champions League Round of 16 after the first leg. We break down each game, and forecast the future (no, we are not the Paul the Octopus from the 2010 world cup). Chelsea and Atletico Madrid win most entertaining game of the round, if only for the tactics Tuchel used.    The NBA ASG draft gets dissected and we reflect on the Jazz All Star's getting picked last. Julien's Fifa card is revealed. We revisit the 2014 World Cup, specifically Brazil and their quarterfinal match against Columbia followed by the infamous beating Germany gave them. Tirtho swoons over Neymar, and does not pull his punches. The NBA season is at its sleepy pre-ASG break lull, but the Jazz still ride hot (3 All Stars!?) and we ask whether it is time for the Bucks to hit the panic button.  

Will the real CP3 please stand up? Yes, I mean Cam Payne. Adith's Fifa Card is revealed (~Mertesacker pace). We explain the reason behind why prayer hands took off in soccer. Vucevic will be leading scorer in Magic history over Shaq, Penny, GHill, and others - not a prediction, just a mathematical fact according to our stats guyShovels. Bucs or Chiefs? Tirtho says who cares. More shovels.  

Jaeho presents his Fifa Card and Tirtho delivers his verdict on the Knicks, Leicester City, and Atletico Madrid. We also talk about Shaq's recent interviews with Jokic, Donovan Mitchell, and Christian Wood. The Utah Jazz go on a 10 game win streak, Lakers slide but Adith chalks it up to coasting through the regular season, and a look at whether Fox or SGA will make the All Star game this year (Answer: No, it will be CJ McCollum taking the last guard spot on the roster). 

We dive into the divisional round playoff games and present our analyses about the 4 games this weekend. We also stray into tangents and cover gutsy 4th and 1 play calls, the best super bowl in recent memory, most emotional guys in the NFL, and Brees' character. We look ahead to the Packers-Bucs game and the possibility of the Tampa defense blitzing Rodgers to a victory, and our thoughts on the very unfortunate Mahomes injury. Tom joins the show. 

Daniel Blessing and Nick Parente join the show to talk about Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the world of cryptocurrencies. We talk hash functions, BS meters, crytpo as assets, tech that can be built off of these systems, trust, the 51% attack, the process of mining and public verification, and that one scene in Silicon Valley where Gilfoyle mines bitcoin only below a certain price threshold. 

We break down the Harden trade and present some different opinions for who the real winners are, the joining of the three most hate-able players in the NBA, and why we feel bad for Steve Nash. We also ask the question, "Which top 10 NBA player currently would you not want to build a franchise around". Besides Tirtho saying LeFraud, we present some real opinions including arguments for Giannis, AD, Dame, and Steph. Also, is Norman Powell underrated and a really stunning Kings-Raptors betting scenario. 

We get into the weeds about the 6 wild card games, draw the distinction between the new age and older generation of QBs, debate over sportscaster sayings like "It's hard to beat a team 3 times in a row" (see: Tony Dungy).
