This week on Palm Wine Central, we kick things off by reacting to the viral Yellowstone bison attack and debating the wild story of two American Airlines pilots caught getting intimate mid-flight. Things get chaotic as we share our absolute worst drunk stories, travel bathroom phobias, and highly unfiltered questions about anatomy and bedroom habits. Finally, we sit down for a serious debate on the current state of Black television, the overuse of struggle tropes, and the lingering effects of colorism for dark-skinned women.Timeline:00:00 - Intro & Taco Tuesday Check-in02:15 - The Yellowstone Bison Attack10:30 - Pilots Caught Mid-Flight14:30 - Plane Bathrooms vs. The Backseat16:30 - Travel Bathroom Phobias20:30 - Desperation on a One-Way Street23:00 - The Absolute Worst Drunk Stories28:00 - Anatomy 101 (The "Punching Bag")39:00 - The State of Black Representation in TV48:00 - Colorism & Dark-Skinned Women in Media55:30 - The "Pretty for a Black Girl" Insult64:00 - Skin Bleaching & Being Black and ProudIf you enjoyed this episode, hit that SUBSCRIBE button for weekly notifications to help our channel grow! What Fresh Hell: Laughing in the Face of Motherhood | Parenting Tips From Funny Moms
Moms hear it all the time: kids save their worst behavior for us because we're their safe space. Understood—but where's the line between not taking every dig personally and becoming your kids' doormat? When kids lash out—whether it's a preschooler kicking in a Target checkout line, or a teenager declaring you're the worst parent in the world—when are we supposed to absorb it, or rise above? And when do we need to set a boundary? In this episode we discuss: Why it's important for parents to allow small children to express negative emotion Why adolescents hand parents their "emotional trash" (h/t Dr. Lisa Damour) the role of "projection" in heightened emotions how parenting an adolescent often means acting as a "wall" for kids to push off—and why that push can manifest as an insult or a slammed door Strategies for responding without escalating conflict Sign up for the What Fresh Hell newsletter here! There is an image from the now ancient TV show Gomer Pyle of a drill sergeant in the face of his recruit berating him for his stupidity, and Gomer, the recruit, is smiling as if this is the sweetest language he'd ever heard. Without question, pastors are not to be the drill sergeant in this scenario. But neither are they to be Gomer. Sometimes the treatment pastors receive crosses the line into abuse, and when it does, to deal with it, they need to be able to name it. The football gaming franchise has stirred controversy by placing Lamar Jackson at the top spot with a 99 overall rating, while Patrick Mahomes is surprisingly ranked fourth. JJ discusses why Mahomes' performance in the Super Bowl and changes in his offensive team might have influenced this ranking. The episode also explores other quarterbacks on the list, such as Josh Allen, who sits at number two, and Joe Burrow, who holds third place. JJ questions if quarterbacks like Brock Purdy and Justin Herbert deserve their spots and considers who else might be missing from the top 10. Join JJ as he breaks down the implications of these rankings and what it means for the upcoming NFL season. Additionally, he touches upon the debate regarding Kevin Durant's future and rumors surrounding his potential trade destinations.

"...the most important move a frozen person can make is whatever breaks the cycle. When so many people are isolated, community-affirming events are vital. When everything feels like it is simultaneously too much, and not enough, we must recognize the importance of beginning. AT Parenting Survival Podcast: Parenting | Child Anxiety | Child OCD | Kids & Family
As parents we are often in the line of fire when it comes to our child's overwhelm. When dealing with anxiety or OCD we can feel like we are our child's punching bag. The truth is, physiologically our kids are often looking for a push-pull conversation. It is easier to see you as enemy #1 rather than facing anxiety and OCD head on.In this week's AT Parenting Survival Podcast I talk about how to “put the rope down” and remove yourself from this push-pull pattern.
