There are few Americans who have had a crazier past month than Kamala Harris—but comedian Allison Reese is among them. Reese's impression of the vice president was already a hit on social media before Harris picked up the baton from President Joe Biden, but it has blown up in a much bigger way since. In this episode, Reese talks about the wild ride she has been on as millions of followers eat up her deliciously spot-on take on the candidate's cadence—especially her signature laugh—and the efforts she is taking not to inadvertently become a right-wing caricature. She also reveals why she wanted to impersonate Harris in her first audition for ‘Saturday Night Live' in 2019, what she made of former cast member Maya Rudolph's very different approach to the impression, and why she believes her videos might have an even bigger political impact on TikTok than she would have had if she had been cast as Harris on SNL. Give Me That D: A Disney Channel Original Movie Breakdown Podcast
This week on GMTD we're talking about the movie that made us all gay: Motocrossed! And thank god we have Allison Reese here to talk about this truly hallowed film. Remember when we all wore Fox gear from head to toe and watched the X-Games? What an era! This movie single-handedly brought Motocross into the zeitgeist…. maybe! We talk all things privileged/horrible dads, sweet sibling relationships, one of the hunkiest guys of all time, iconic green nails (to help with arm pump, OBVIOUSLY!), and of course a twin switch-a-roo with a sister posing as her brother! Billy Shakes might have given us the source material with Twelfth Night, but I'd say not even HE could know the heights it would reach! May we also give praise to every gender-swapping movie that HAS to have a lake moment (they can't take off their shirts! What will they do??!!) Enjoy this one, we sure did!

ALLISON REESE! Allison (@reese_shapiro) and I talk about the importance of representation in comedy, embodying Kamala Harris, performing in front of Lorne Michaels, AND SO MUCH MORE!
Is it us, or is the queer community changing more rapidly than in the past? Comedian and writer Allison Reese joins us to talk about the affects of the internet and the passing of time on our perceptions of the (Kamala Harris voice) community. Where is queer culture created? Is the infighting as bad as Twitter makes it seem? Are we being so inclusive that we're better off just excluding cis straights? When will the meat eaters face their moment of reckoning? We also ask the very important question, "is it safe for cartoons to come out of the closet?" Plus, Carolyn and Melody try to pick their gayest moment that wrapped up a memorable pride month. And finally, we end with a question from a literal U-Hauler who is curious about co-habitation masturbation etiquette. -Get extra content EACH WEEK, Ad Free episodes, support the pod, and get to know other listeners by joining our Patreon community. Allison Reese used to ball so hard she'd make enemies on the court, but now she mostly uses her love of basketball to create analogies for other aspects of her life (read: comedy). A total gem and softy when not shooting hoops, Allison shares some personal stories ranging from attending Phoenix Suns games with her dad to the kinds of things her mostly Mormon high school teammates would bring to conversations in the locker room to who she sees as the Steve Nash of Chicago comedy. Be glad she didn't opt for her life's alternate timeline of playing college ball or she may not be gracing the comedy scene with her wonderful presence. Comedy owes one to coaches who ruin things for athletes. Thanks to Jackbox Games for sponsoring and the Chicago Podcast Cooperative for coordinating sponsorships.
