Welcome to Where Is My Mind? A podcast about how we can better look after our heads and our hearts in the head-melty chaos of the modern world. The landscape for treating complex trauma is changing, and although there is extensive and promising research into the efficacy of psychedelic substances for the treatment of mental health disorders, it is not yet accessible for most. This week, Niall is joined by Jesse Gould, a former army ranger who is helping other veterans overcome their trauma. Jesse suffered with debilitating PTSD and after exploring every traditional avenue found himself in Peru on an Ayuhuasca retreat. The experience was transformational for Jesse. He returned home to set up the Heroic Hearts Project, with a mission to help as many US veterans as possible overcome PTSD and other military trauma by building a community that provides them with safe and supervised access to psychedelic programs, professional coaching, and ongoing community support. Carter interviews cohost teZa about her early history and mental "reset" when she was professionally involved with the studies and experimentation of plant medicines. At Harvard U. she drew plants and assisted botanists as they explored how indigenous people throughout the world have used psychotropic plants since time immemorial to facilitate touching "the Divine." Featured are recollections of Richard Evan Schultes, Timothy Plowman, Wade Davis, Tom E. Lockwood and how these pioneers in ethnobotany today are helping modern people understand about the benefits of a reverential use of sacred plants. Michael Pollan's book Change Your Mind introduced micro-dosing of psychedlics to aid mental health. Today, the US Federal Government has approved using mind-altering plants in a guided ritualized fashion to aid the military's huge problem of PTSD sufferers "reset their minds" to find comfort. This could be a solution for the increasing numbers of suicides in both post-military and youthful mental health sufferers. Visit tezalord.com and carterlord.com for more about the hosts.
Welcome back to Actuali! In this episode, I invite Visionary Artist and Poet, Juliana Garces to share her insights on how we may integrate our spiritual experiences into our daily lives. We discuss her profound lucid dreams experiences starting from a young age, which led her to meditation, yoga, and working with sacred plant medicines for spiritual purposes. We also discuss her incredible visionary art, her experiences with astral travel, as well as working with Ayuhuasca, and we get to hear a wonderful transcendent poem as well. A Disclaimer is appropriate here: In no way is this podcast or the speakers involved advocating for the illegal use of any substance, nor for irresponsible use in anyway; rather, we encourage ways of reaching transcendent spaces through legal means, by following all applicable local laws. We further advise utilizing methods such as breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga, that do not require substances at all. If one is interested in plant medicines we absolutely advise following local laws, and only using in a legal, safe environment under the supervision of a licensed therapist or religious institution. We also wish to encourage a spiritual approach to sacred plant medicines, and for those interested to do their homework in order to be aware of natural and legal methods for achieving such states, and what to be prepared for. Practices involving breathing techniques, yoga, meditation, and more are all capable of allowing the practitioner to rise to transcendent realms of experience without any substances involved, and we recommend learning these methods above all. In this episode we cover some of these safe and legal techniques, as well as share some incredible experiences! Enjoy the show! This episode is also available on youtube! Learning to trust my intuition even when it didn't make sense really served me. I truly believe that when we let ourselves inspire us with what lights us up it is the Universe's way to guide us to show us the next steps. For me, that was a plant medicine experience. Ayahuasca is a tool for psychological healing, personal growth, or expanding consciousness. I was really happy that the experience we have created and manifested was one on one with our dear guide and shaman. So only 4 people in the room where we felt held, nurtured and supported. My main intention really was to clear ancestral pain, trauma and beliefs for the baby we are intending to call in with my husband, but also see a way how I can serve this world on a higher level. And let me tell you, grandma Aya really knows how to take you exactly where you need to go to heal. I didn't experience purging as many people report to do and as a couple of people in our room did (I thanked them for purging for me as I felt that's what happened), yet I felt the strong emotional release of pain from my grandma's transition and also release of expectations for myself. The one thing that kept coming up for me was - It's safe to be me. For decades I thought I am not enough, I am not special, and compared myself with others. Aya showed me that my uniqueness is needed, that it is safe to be me and to share it with the world. I also experienced sensations and trembles like I was re-birthing myself. Ayahuasca might not be for everyone yet I believe that I was guided to her for a reason and she helped me to clear my body, mind and align my spirit with the next steps, our future babies and abundance. Curiously, have you tried any plant medicine?

It's time to wake the fuck up. We are being called by the universe to step into a power greater than ourselves and to throw ourselves into the fire of transformation. We are being called, and I am asking you, as the universe, through bonzai, to step up and get out of the way for life to move through you. The time is now. In this weeks episode, we're getting deep into the wisdom that was delivered to me during my ayuhuasca ceremony a few weeks ago. We will look at letting go of expectations and how expectations stand in the way of us witnessing the magic that lies in front of us. We'll talk about trusting yourself and the super powers that come out of that deep trust, and we'll dive head first into shame. The work is showing itself to us right now, each of us in our own separate ways. Its time to clean out our closet, let go of the old stories, beliefs and skeletons and step in to the new world that we can and will create together. Ayuhuasca and Fasting. Thats what we're getting into this week. I was gonna chat with cris about her incredible pottery and artistic design skills and it looks like the universe wanted something else. Catching cris in the middle of her 10 day fast was such a blessing and synchronicity as we were really able to dive into the nature of the mind when we choose to let go of our idea of "what our body needs" to survive. When we take the time to fast, to deprive ourselves, we can start to take spaciousness and develop new relationships with the things in our life. After a break up, we take time away from our partner before we can come back together and relate differently. During covid, we are taking a break from the "norm" from life, to bring clarity in how we relate to our everyday. Cris has had a powerful journey, both through fasting and her plant medicine journeys. Dr. Mark Hyman, well known in the alternative medicine sector for his work with diet and functional medicine and his best selling books, has been talking about working with psychedelics a few times this year. This work isn't common in the US, but it probably should be. In this episode of FRIED, I got to chat with a dear friend, Dr. Randi Raymond who owns and runs The Burnout Recovery Center in Jaco, Costa Rica. Dr. Randi has been using plant medicine under the guide of shamans for some time now and recently started opening up the possibility to do plant medicine as part of a 5-day retreat.
Intro: why I changed my logo, Schumann Resonance news. Second part: In the description of my Podcast, I say that I am a Heyoka Lightning Shaman and tonight I finally unravel what that mouthful of words actually means. What is a Shaman? Is it always about Psychedelic Drugs or plants from the Jungle? Why I have never yet taken Ayuhuasca! XD What are different examples of a Shaman? Why were transgender and intersex individuals considered as highly respected and sought out as well respected Medicine Men in various Native American Tribes in generations past? What is a Heyoka kind of Shaman? Who do you know that may be this type of Shaman and not even know it? (Hint: It's The Class Clown!) I give two real world examples of famous Heyokas. And a couple funny stories: That time I heckled a United States Marine. I date a rookie cop while living in a house

Allo, allo! Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once. En Dr. Molly Maloof zegt in de New York Financial Times: The hippie 2.0 generation are using LSD to pursue their purpose and their highest potential, not going out to party and go crazy. Mijn excuses!
In this week's episode we explore the arena of Plant Medicine or Ayuhuasca with self-made millionaire Jeffrey Slayter. What is it? How does it work? What are the risks? What are the misconceptions? Jon DeRosa grew up in suburban NJ and became a guitar slinger which led to some great albums and stints with the likes of Stephin Merritt, he then mastered cocktails, moved to LA and discovered a personal fascination with Peru, Ayuhuasca and how the traditional herbs and medicines of the jungle could be applied to the ailments of modern life. He's still creating orchestral, country tinged, rock albums, but has traded his suspenders and rolled up sleeves for flowier garb and the tools of his trade are no longer jiggers and shakers, but kuripes and tepis.
In the 11th episode of I Just Don't See The Big Deal, the boys rally around Hulk Hogan's patented courtroom body slam deposited upon Nick Denton and his media empire. But before that, they dive into one of their favorite rhetorical pass-times: discussing why hippies and stoners are too stupid to talk about simulation theory (because, frankly, obviously takes one to know one).
