Fictional character from How I Met Your Mother
POPULARITY
I had an unreal time chopping it up with the legend himself, Neil Patrick Harris!

Après 9 saisons, la série "How I Met Your Mother" se terminait.
It's Awards Season yet again. Here on the Holmes Movies Podcast that means, it is time for the Alternative Oscars episodes! AKA the Anders and Adam-emy Awards: Each episode for this series we pick a different year in Oscars history and attempt to correct the record, stripping the undeserving of their garlands while recognizing those who were cruelly overlooked. This time, we will be casting our eye back to… the 87th Academy Awards, the year that honoured the best films of 2014. It was held February 22nd 2015 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. It was hosted by Barney Stinson himself Neil Patrick Harris. It was an event that was marred by slight controversy after the nominations were announced. The hashtags #OscarsSoWhite and #WhiteOscars circulated around the internet after that. This was an Oscars event we wanted to look at and change somethings, as we did not agree with certain films getting nominated and others that did not. It was the year of Birdman Vs Boyhood. Welcome to another episode of the Testing Peers. The Awesome foursome back together again with the topic of fighting fires and some of the additional effort that is needed when it is all hitting the fan.Chris starts off the banter with asking us about memes we may use in the workplace, we have everything from Homer Simpson, Bryan Danielson, Barney Stinson and Mr Bean.We then dive into the main topic and Chris kicks us off with an story of his time testing games with the bugs not being prioritised and issues being left unfixed. Russell talks about a time when the release date was before the time testing was due to finish. Simon then covers examples of defects found in production and the varying ways in which these can be approached. David mentions an example when a Senior leader highlighted a bug which immediately caused a panic even though it ends up being human error. The Peers then go on to talk about how to work through the fires without causing panic and getting better collaboration at all times. Russell refers to Heather Reid's Testbash 2023 talk - https://www.ministryoftesting.com/testbash-talks/9a60cbd8 What fires have you had to put out recently? How did you do it? Here's the full breakdown of the Water Action Agenda pledges (including the Excel table that you can download) ➡️ https://dww.show/the-truth-about-the-water-action-agenda-768-commitments-decrypted/ I fear that the UN Water Action Agenda suffers from what Barney Stinson (yes, the one from How I Met Your Mother) would call... the cheerleader effect. Many "commitments", but at the end of the day, a lot of pretty vague ones. So I looked into it and share you some emblematic examples in this video! But I did not stop there. I also wanted to test out what it takes to be featured on the Water Action Agenda and decided to introduce a commitment myself. To do so, I got a bit of help: the almighty ChatGPT wrote it integrally for me in just two queries. And guess what? It got adopted! Now to be clear, it's not so much of a scam at the end of the day: I will really follow my pledge and publish a Water Podcast a week for the next year. And in all cases, I'll submit updates on my pledge, which isn't the norm when you find out that ⬇️ I made an additional short on how a $300 Bn pledge became a $101 Bn commitment ➡️ https://youtube.com/shorts/hc0jeCdaYns?feature=share Timestamps: 00:00 Csaba Kőrösi presses a mysterious button 01:00 Why was the UN Water Conference happening at all? 01:58 Can the Water Action Agenda save the UN Water Conference's outcomes? 03:02 The problem with the Water Action Agenda: the Cheerleader Effect 04:10 2 Examples of Empty Statements (amongst 146 other ones) 06:37 "Lukewarm Water Commitments" (a problematic UN Water Action Agenda category) 08:22 3 Awesome Commitments (there are good ones too!) 10:08 What's the scam? 11:03 Using ChatGPT to trick the United Nations 12:42 Did it Work? 14:12 Conclusion ➡️ Reach out to me: antoine@dww.show

Possibile? Possibile. Ah, E alla fine arriva Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Father. E non è un grandissimo ritorno. Le serie in arrivo: Venerdì 7 aprile Transatlantic, miniserie (NETFLIX) -Tiny Beautiful Things (Hulu) Giovedì 13 aprile Florida Man (Netflix)

My guest today went to Club Med Cancun for a two-week vacation in December of 1989. He started as a G.M. that week, but wound up as an au pair Snorkeling and Picnic G.O. We will get into that and more on this episode of My First Season. From Maple Ridge, British Columbia, I am pleased to welcome to the podcast, Dean Barbour! Dean was looking to relax for two weeks when he went to Club Med Cancun as a G.M., but he ended up tearing the ligaments in his ankle and was on crutches for the rest of his stay. The G.O. team showed exceptional care for Dean during his vacation and this made him approach the Chief of Village, Ye, to see if he could work there. Dean moved to Sailing a few months later and then to Landsports. After Cancun, he went to Club Med Huatulco in December 1990 to November 1991 as Landsports. While at Huatulco, he starred as the love interest in a Nathalie Simard music video called “Reste Ami”! While everyone from Quebec knows who pop singer Nathalie Simard is, we will explain in the interview for the rest of the world who does not! From the second Dean sent me this video, I had so many questions! He was very kind and patient to discuss this hidden piece of 90's gold with me. Not since Barney Stinson uncovered the “Robin Sparkles” video in “How I Met Your Mother”, has there been a greater video! I see your “Let's Go to the Mall” or “Sandcastles in the Sand” and raise you one “Reste Ami” video (or as I'm calling it, Floorplans in the Sand-you will understand why once you watch the video!). After Club Med, Dean studied Dramatic Arts at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and then got a Business Administration degree at Mt. San Antonio College in California. The interview ends with Dean telling us the three things he misses the most about Club Med. Please enjoy this episode with a very funny man!!**My First Season podcast has always been free to listen to and ad-free and is available on: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Samsung Podcasts, Podbean App, Spotify, Amazon Music/Audible, TuneIn + Alexa, iHeartRadio, PlayerFM, Pandora and Listen Notes. And if you like what you hear, please leave a review at Apple podcasts. Here is the famous video with Nathalie Simard that we spoke about. Dean is the shirtless, blonde hunk in the video. Please enjoy! Reste Ami 1991 - YouTube
We are talking about the trope of the Cad, AKA the Player. F***boys are their little scrappydoo kid-brothers, we call them “fun” boys for obvious reasons… It's a fun trope which is often exaggerated for comedic effect but actually comes from a very real thing! There are a lot of famous pop-culture versions though like Barney Stinson, Pepe Le Pew, James Bond, and The Continental. They're characterised by predatory behaviour, a focus on sex, shallow interactions, narcissism, caring a lot about their appearance, they're egotistical, manipulative, secretive, and deceptive. Often they can be wrongly looked up to as a kind of male hero ideal because of their seemingly easy catalogue of sexual conquests and their attractive, cultivated charm, but that's only because we ignore the emotional cost to the women they bed. They can be used as funny antagonists though and it's always a joy to see them get their comeuppance, as long as it's not excessive. So that's the topic here! What do you think of cads and players? Know any good ones? Which is your fave? Have you dealt with real life ones or are you one yourself? This week Gunwallace has given us a theme to Joanna Ghost Hunter - Wondering creepy spirits, wafting slowly here and there, defying all known laws of physics as they defy gravity, emit light without energy and effortlessly pass through walls… This tune conveys all sorts of weird creepiness. So, I had a realization that I like to accept challenges. Accepting challenges allows me to improve, grow and learn. Accepting challenges is a way for me to get out of my comfort zone and keep making progress towards my overall goal of total world domination. Accepting challenges is also a way to test myself and to put new knowledge, skills and abilities into action. Lastly, accepting challenges is a great way to connect with people and PROVE that we have more in common that we do in difference. So, I dedicate this episode to Barney Stinson, played by Neil Patrick Harris, from How I Met Your Mother.
