This week on GameBurst, the team digs into a packed fortnight for the industry, from blockbuster release confirmations to hardware surprises and the ongoing turbulence reshaping the games business. Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI remains firmly on course for its 19 November 2026 launch, with Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick confirming a summer marketing push — and developers moving swiftly to quash viral rumours of a third delay. Meanwhile, Playground Games has confirmed that its long-anticipated Fable reboot will arrive simultaneously on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC this autumn, breaking the franchise's historically Xbox-exclusive heritage and landing on Game Pass from day one. Two notable releases hit shelves this week: Capcom's sci-fi action title Pragmata and Nintendo's life simulator Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, both landing after years of anticipation. Nintendo also continues to build momentum around the Switch 2, with a Handheld Boost Mode update now enabling original Switch titles to run at 1080p in portable play, and Pokémon Champions dominating the eShop charts since its 8 April debut. Summer Game Fest 2026 is confirmed for 5 June at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Geoff Keighley also announcing the return of Play Days and a new trade event, The Game Business Live. And in hardware news, UK outfit Blaze Entertainment has unveiled the Evercade Nexus — its most ambitious handheld yet — featuring a 5.89-inch IPS screen, dual analogue sticks, wireless multiplayer, and a bundled Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack, priced at £169.99 and due in October. On a more sobering note, Ubisoft has announced a significant corporate restructuring, with further cuts at its Paris headquarters. The news arrives against a backdrop of continued industry-wide contraction, with a Newzoo/GDC survey finding around 28% of developers had been laid off in recent times. For picks of the week: Gary spotlights board game 1822: The Railways of Great Britain and Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor; Jerome recommends The Rogue Prince of Persia and the Murderbot TV show on Apple TV; and Taylor highlights the Evercade VS-R alongside the excellent YouTube channel of Kim Justice. #gameburst YouTube links: Kim Justice: https://www.youtube.com/@Kim_Justice

Jornalista brasileiro do Critics' Choice avalia chances de vitória do Brasil no Oscar 2026

Brasil-Mundo

It's Awards Season yet again. Here on the Holmes Movies Podcast that means, it is time for the Alternative Oscars episodes! AKA the Anders and Adam-emy Awards! Each episode for this series we pick a different year in Oscars history and attempt to correct the record, stripping the undeserving of their garlands while recognising those who were cruelly overlooked. This time, we will be casting our eye back to… the 90th Academy Awards. The event celebrated all the films released in the year of 2017. The event was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 4th 2018. The host was Jimmy Kimmel. He had hosted the year before. The 90th Annual Academy Awards was a year after the La-La Land/Moonlight Best Picture fiasco. It was the year when Guillermo Del Toro's film The Shape Of Water won 4 Oscars, it was nominated for 13. Timothée Chalamet, at that point 22, was the third youngest person to nominated in an acting category. Greta Gerwig was nominated for Best Director for Lady Bird, the 5th female filmmaker to be nominated in that category. Jordan Peele was the first African American to win Best Original Screenplay. Rachel Morrison became the first woman nominated for Best Cinematography. It was the year of genre films. Slowly but surely, the Academy is slowly starting to acknowledge and award Oscars and nominations for horror films and other genre films of that ilk. We head back in our time machine to right the wrongs of this year. In our opinion, who should have won? Listen to the episode and find out who we think should have won. Be sure to check out our Monument Valley Film on our YouTube Channel.Anders's screenwriter work can also be seen at work in the horror, car chase thriller Delivery Run, co-written with & directed by Joey Palmroos. The film has been released digitally and also in select cinemas in the US and the UK. In Finland it was released on Apple TV after finishing its limited cinema run and was the Number 1 film for multiple weeks. You can read a review about it here on the Fangoria website. In the late 1920s, Hollywood producers liked coming here to the fancy Millennium Biltmore Hotel to hold business meetings.20世纪20年代末,好莱坞制片人们喜欢来这家豪华的千禧碧丽宫酒店举行商务会议。The story goes that it was here in 1927 that the studio's designer first sketched the outlook of the Oscar Statuette. During the preliminary session of planning the Oscars, there were a couple of people in conversation talking about this event. And this started to scribble on a napkin and kind of draw a design above what is now the Oscar Statuette. No one knows where the historical napkin ended up. Director of Marketing at Biltmore Hotel, Ana Segura, believes that was lost nearly hundred years ago. But the Oscar design endured. And in 1929, the first Academy Awards ceremony took place at the Roosevelt Hotel. Yet years later, the ceremony moved to where it all began, the Biltmore Hotel. This hall hosted the ceremony eight times, though back then, it looked a little different. This ballroom originally was built to cater to the Oscars with a grand stage. And because of the reconstruction, the hotel went through a renovation, and so they had to downsize the ceiling. Pompous receptions, breathtakingly beautiful evening gowns and tuxedos, this was the place to see and be seen in legendary old Hollywood. Visitors can still see glimpses of it today on the pictures that adorn the hotel walls. This picture, that's the one with Walt Disney and Shirley Temple. The beauty about this picture is the Oscar. It's the most iconic because of the Seven Dwarfs nomination. Obviously he got his award, so you have seven little Oscars and then the big Oscar trophy. But not just Hollywood stars frequented the Biltmore Hotel. During prohibition, the time between 1920 and 1933 when the sale and manufacture of alcohol was illegal, this place drew very different crowds. Everyone from gangsters to politicians came here to meet in a secret bar that was hidden behind this wall. High name profile ranking officials, whether there were government celebrities, it was a combination of just, you know, highly renowned name people . And of course, because of the prohibition era and having such a great time at some point, somebody had to get out and get away, right? And so that was the secret passage. Even today, actors and producers love coming here. Jaime has been a barman here for over half a century. All this time, he's been collecting autographs, pictures and incredible stories. His favorite is about how he met Al Pacino, who decided to take a stroll around the hotel wearing a black cape. Mr. Pacino, I almost called securities on you. He said why, because look at you. And he said well, I'm rehearsing a play at Aquinas. Oh my god! So later on, I asked him for his autograph. The Academy Award ceremony hasn't been held here for years. Its venue of choices has long been Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. But to commemorate the early days of Oscars, every February, a special themed party is held within the walls of the legendary Biltmore Hotel .

Andrew Humberman BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Andrew Huberman has commanded attention this week with a flurry of media hits, new science releases, and buzzworthy public invitations. Just yesterday, Huberman's advice trended on multiple health news verticals and social streams with the release of his new rapid-uptake video dissecting how three simple vegetables can reduce nighttime urination and improve sleep quality, a topic that immediately sparked wider commentary given the ever-evolving mainstream interest in sleep optimization according to YouTube. Meanwhile, Huberman's ongoing exploration of neuroscience and self-improvement continues through his flagship Huberman Lab podcast, which just dropped a much-hyped episode featuring legendary climber Alex Honnold. This one dug deep into risk assessment, brain health, and achieving massive goals, aligning his neuroscientific rigor with adventure psychology—all quickly circulating within wellness and athletic circles as seen on the Huberman Lab official website's most recent episode listings. Not content to rest, Huberman's written profile soared again after Men's Journal published another viral piece on his unconventional alternatives to napping—his so-called NSDR, or Non-Sleep Deep Rest, protocol—which he claims boosts energy and focus without conventional sleep. The article breaks down his stepwise technique, offering accessible guidance and lending weight to his ongoing campaign to democratize neuroscience-backed performance tools for the masses, solidifying his image as a practical science sage for ambitious folk.As for public appearances, excitement is building as Huberman is now confirmed as a headline speaker for the upcoming Summit of Greatness 2025 at the Dolby Theatre in mid-September, an event countenanced on TikTok by both the event's promotional team and fans personally rallying followers to catch his live session. This announcement has already stirred speculation about which new research findings or protocols he might debut onstage, with some unconfirmed rumors hinting at a potential preview of his long-awaited book Protocols. In the swirl of public fascination, a fresh wave of tabloid attention briefly struck after a trending web story attempted to untangle speculation around Huberman's personal life and supposed wife, Shanna Huberman. According to The Screening Lab, no conclusive or verified details have surfaced, and the story appears more a response to sudden hashtag spikes than verifiable news. Meanwhile, his evergreen social clips remain omnipresent, including a widely shared short in which he argues against face tattoos from a neuroscience lens, recently reposted on a number of US platforms. With his research, book teasers, media responses, and public agenda converging, Andrew Huberman's influence appears only to be growing—marked by headline visibility and intrigue across both science outlets and the web's more speculative corners.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

It's here, the world's first Emilia Pérez fan podcast!....or maybe not...In a break from the annual tradition, joining Johnny this year on the red carpet is Podzilla & 1978podcaster Jasher Drake, who's turned up a week early at the Dolby Theatre to pounce on unsuspecting celebrities. But fear not, Johnny's usual date for the Academy Awards, the irrepressible Daíbhid MacCann, has sent through his thoughts on who, what and why at this year's ceremony. Daíbhid's whereabouts are currently unknown, but the word on the street is that he's currently in Mexico researching medical operations on the behalf of the local cartel kingpin. We take a look at the recent James Bond Amazon Prime firesale debacle, we discuss sad movies and claymation penises, and we ponder just how one particular film has managed to offend every minority it set out to represent, and bagged 13 nominations in the process. Robert Winfree and Mark Radulich present their Mufasa The Lion King 2024 Movie Review!Mufasa: The Lion King is a 2024 American musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film is photorealistically animated and serves as both a prequel and sequel to The Lion King (2019), the remake of the 1994 animated film of the same name. Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and John Kani reprise their roles from the remake; new cast members include Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, and Blue Ivy Carter in her feature film debut.Development on a prequel to The Lion King was confirmed in September 2020, with Jenkins attached to direct and Nathanson finishing a draft of the script. Pierre and Harrison were announced as the voice cast in August 2021, followed by further casting between September 2022 and April 2024. The film was officially announced when its official title was revealed in September 2022 at the 2022 D23 Expo announcement. Production on the film slowed down in July 2023 due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. The film is dedicated to James Earl Jones, who voiced Mufasa in the 1994 film and the remake, died before the film's release, and whose voice is heard briefly during the opening titles.Mufasa: The Lion King premiered on December 9, 2024, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and was released in the United States by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on December 20, 2024. The film received mixed reviews from critics and has grossed $328 million.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Today is day 157 of the war with Hamas. Diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. At the Oscars last night, the acceptance speech from Jonathan Glazer -- writer-director of the Holocaust drama “The Zone of Interest” -- was used to comment on the Israel-Hamas war. Glazer appears to equate the massacre perpetrated by Hamas on October 7 with the ongoing war in Gaza. Berman weighs in on how prevalent this thinking may be in the wider population. Berman attempts to make sense of conflicting reports over the status of negotiations to secure a hostage release deal. At the Institute for National Security Studies conference in Tel Aviv on Thursday, Berman had a long in-depth sit-down conversation with retired US Gen. David Petraeus who commanded US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan among other high-level assignments during a 37-year military career. We hear what Petraeus has to say about IDF tactics in Gaza. In a session at the INSS conference, former Shin Bet chief Nadav Argaman said the organization had pushed for a surprise attack on Hamas's top leadership for years before the devastating October 7 terror onslaught, but Israel's political leadership repeatedly shot the idea down. We hear more about the politicized atmosphere at the conference. For the latest updates, please look at The Times of Israel's ongoing live blog. Discussed articles include: Live blog March 11, 2024 ‘Oppenheimer' wins big at Academy Awards where Gaza, Ukraine wars cast shadow ‘He's wrong': PM bluntly rejects Biden critique, says most Israelis back his policies Former Shin Bet chief: Government repeatedly rejected plans to kill Hamas's Sinwar THOSE WE HAVE LOST: Civilians and soldiers killed in Hamas's onslaught on Israel THOSE WE ARE MISSING: The hostages and victims whose fate is still unknown Subscribe to The Times of Israel Daily Briefing on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts.
