“Fifty Years in the Ministry — Lessons from a Lifetime of Service” What does fifty years of ministry teach a person? In this deeply personal and reflective episode of The Kubik Report, Victor Kubik is joined by longtime pastors Darris McNeely and Robin Webber for an honest conversation about the joys, struggles, lessons, and enduring purpose found in a lifetime of serving God and people. Together, these three ministers represent more than 150 years of combined pastoral experience. They discuss what first inspired them to enter the ministry, the mentors who shaped them, and the moments that confirmed their calling along the way. The conversation explores both the highs and lows of ministry life—memorable baptisms, Feast experiences, counseling moments, friendships, heartbreaks, disappointments, and seasons of deep personal testing. The discussion also turns toward how ministry has changed over the decades and the unique pressures faced by leaders today. Listeners will hear thoughtful reflections on humility, grace, perseverance, emotional intelligence, leadership, and the importance of compassion in serving others. Darris shares insights from years in media and education through Beyond Today and Ambassador Bible College, while Robin reflects on decades of pastoral counseling and personal connection with congregations. Victor guides the discussion with warmth, perspective, and heartfelt honesty. This episode is not simply a look backward. It is a conversation about endurance, spiritual growth, and the lessons that only time and service can teach. Whether you are involved in ministry, leadership, or simply seeking encouragement for your own spiritual journey, this discussion offers wisdom, perspective, and hope. In This Episode: What first inspired each man to enter the ministry The greatest joys and most difficult seasons of pastoral service Lessons learned after fifty years How ministry and leadership have changed over time Advice for younger pastors and leaders What truly matters most in the end

Today's riches will distort eternal realities unless we look beyond them.
This message concludes our BEYOND Vision Campaign by calling our church family to move from simply believing God's promises to actively stepping into them. Drawing from Joshua's journey—from crossing the Jordan to the miraculous fall of Jericho—the sermon highlights the importance of spiritual preparation, daily obedience, keeping God's presence central, and offering God our first fruits. As we embrace the Acts 1:8 Vision, we are invited to take bold steps of faith, trusting God to lead us beyond obstacles and into the future He has prepared for our church.
Drawing from Joshua 3, where the Israelites faced the flooded Jordan River during harvest season, an impossible barrier to God's promised land, we discover that overcoming barriers comes through faith, not sight. This message calls the church to move BEYOND Barriers together, keeping our eyes on Jesus, preparing hearts, stepping out in faith, and watching God do the impossible for both personal breakthroughs and the church's future.
In Week 2 of our BEYOND series, we look at Joshua 2 and the story of Rahab—an unlikely woman whose courageous faith changed her future and impacted generations to come. As Israel stood before the walls of Jericho, the obstacles were real, but before the miracle came a step of intentional faith. Rahab chose to let go of the security of her city and trust in the God she had heard about—the One who parted the Red Sea and defeated mighty kings. Her scarlet cord became a powerful symbol of salvation and deliverance. This message reminds us that faith doesn't just believe—it acts. It prepares, it surrenders, and it steps forward even when the outcome isn't fully visible.
In this message, we look at Joshua 1 and discover that every step into God's future requires courage. Just as Joshua stood at the edge of the Promised Land, we too face moments where obedience demands faith. Rooted in Ephesians 3:20 and modeled after Acts 1:8, this message casts vision for our BEYOND journey — strengthening our local church, serving our community, partnering cross-culturally, and reaching the nations. This is a call to go beyond today, beyond barriers, beyond our walls, and beyond ourselves, trusting God to do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine.

How tough was it to pick our "album bookends" this week (that is, albums that have a great first and last track)? You could say that's impossible, that's im-poss-i-ble. But, fortunately, we're everywhere that you are! We're un-alone for this discussion, because (if you couldn't have guessed) we have guitarist/singer/songwriter Steve Barton and drummer Dave Scheff from one of the best American bands of the '80s, Translator! Translator released four excellent albums for 415/Columbia: Heartbeats and Triggers (1982), No Time Like Now (1983), Translator (1985), and Evening of the Harvest (1986). At the end of their initial run, they played a final gig at the Farm in their home base of San Francisco. Captured on a cassette, nearly 40 years later, that incendiary live set is out for the first time on download, LP, or CD as Beyond Today: Live at the Farm San Francisco: 1986. from Liberation Hall. https://translatorlive.bandcamp.com As an added treat for fans, Beyond Today also contains two brand new Translator songs, "These Days to Come" and "With Your Dreams", both wonderfully mixed by Ed Stasium. Special thanks to Randy Haecker from Prime Mover Media for the introduction and coordination! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

He was ordained into the ministry of UCG in 2018 and served as pastor to congregations in Maryland and Virginia from 2019-2022. He has written for the Beyond Today magazine, and one of his articles is entitled "Sound Science and the Bible: Do They Conflict?" We will talk about what he wrote about the detrimental assumptions made by prominent scientists that lead the world away from understanding the truth.
Translator was one of those bands on the precipice of breaking big in the 80s. Signed to local indie label 415 Records, they soon found themselves part of the big-time music business when their label signed a distribution deal with Columbia Records. In 1982, their single, "Everywhere That I'm Not”, became popular on the burgeoning college radio circuit. In 1986, the band decided to call it quits, scheduling a hometown show to reward their ardent fan base with a final San Francisco show. This performance, along with two new songs, are now available on an LP entitled Translator--Beyond Today: Live at the Farm San Francisco 1986. Lead singer/guitarist Steve Barton and drummer Dave Scheff join the podcast to look back at their 80s musical journey, as well as offer some insight into new developments within the band. Several years ago when Michael Snyder was a Plain Truth senior writer, he interviewed several nuclear war experts and physicists during a Washington DC science conference. That produced the popular Plain Truth cover article “Humanity won't end this way,” referencing concerns about nuclear war which Mr. Herbert Armstrong later made into a World Tomorrow telecast. His work and article were later turned into a booklet on nuclear war where he shared a byline with Mr. Armstrong. It's online at various COG historical sites. Today we talk about the state of the world that could possibly be on the brink of World War III. The war between Russia and Ukraine has escalated. Where is the end. Listen to Mike Snyder's insight about current dangerous conditions. The podcast was made after church services and you may hear the voices of children playing. ____________________________________ Michael A. Snyder, (not to be confused with Michael T. Snyder, a non-related prolific writer on speculative prophecy) has written for Beyond Today (both the magazine and the telecast) and previously served as a senior writer for The PlainTruth magazine. He and his wife Jamie live in Indianapolis, Indiana and attend the Indianapolis United Church of God congregation. They previously lived in Pasadena, California.

The Internet we use every day was designed for a much more humble requirement: essentially, bursts of communication between small entities. Our interview with Dan DeBacker from Extreme Networks will define these new requirements and how innovation can keep you up to speed. One of the best podcasts in Washington, DC, is “Feds at the Edge.” It recognizes the rapid decentralization of systems, which has reached the point where some organizations are considering doing the “compute” aspect of the network at the edge. Let me state the obvious: a network that is not optimized will not allow speed to be efficiently achieved. Hybrid networks can increase complexity to the point where speed degenerates and opportunities for malicious actors can appear. During the interview, Dan DeBacker details how methods and techniques can be applied to carefully examine a network and ferret out stealth networks and areas that can “leak” access. When a system is visible, it is easier to incorporate legacy networks and enhance connectivity between sites.
