Chris Hunt forged Code of the West from the ashes of loss, burnout, and a mind that wouldn't quit. In this unvarnished talk, he digs into suicide's scars, sleepless nights, and a brain scan that flipped the script—plus a dark laugh or two. It's not motivation, it's discipline that pulls you through, he says. From rodeo plans to gear drops, he's building a lifeline for the heavy-hearted. This hits deep, but if you're lost, it might just point you home.https://thecodeofthewest.ushttps://www.youtube.com/@the_codeofthewesthttps://www.instagram.com/thecodeofthewest______Silvercore Club - https://bit.ly/2RiREb4 Online Training - https://bit.ly/3nJKx7U Other Training & Services - https://bit.ly/3vw6kSU Merchandise - https://bit.ly/3ecyvk9 Blog Page - https://bit.ly/3nEHs8W Host Instagram - @Bader.Trav https://www.instagram.com/bader.travSilvercore Instagram - @SilvercoreOutdoors https://www.instagram.com/silvercoreoutdoors____00:00:13,170 - Intro & Silvercore Club - Welcome to the Podcast00:00:40,860 - Meet Chris Hunt - Introducing Chris Hunt00:01:55,275 - Impact of Code of the West - Changing Lives00:02:23,745 - Messages from Followers - Voices of Resilience00:04:59,355 - Happiness as Process - The Pursuit of Happiness00:06:16,695 - Chris's Struggles & Origins - From Loss to Purpose00:08:02,804 - Friends' Deaths Story - Facing Mortality00:10:07,500 - Aftermath of Loss - Cascading Grief00:11:13,140 - Reframing Life & Death - Living and Dying Well00:12:17,325 - Suicide's Ripple Effect - Pain Transferred00:13:09,045 - Building Code of the West - Crafting a Philosophy00:14:24,345 - Brain Scan Revelation - Understanding the Mind00:16:46,035 - Movement Equals Life - Forward Momentum00:17:07,425 - Sleep Strategies - Mastering Sleep00:19:55,095 - Managing Data Overload - Taming the Brain00:21:50,145 - Early Career Moves - Chasing Ambiguity01:16:45,360 - Generational Reflections - Bridging Worlds01:19:20,265 - AI and Modern Change - A New Era01:20:41,174 - Thoughts on Legacy - Beyond Statues01:22:03,690 - Death as Exploration - Embracing the Inevitable01:22:35,415 - Future of Code of the West - What's Next for Code of the West01:24:06,960 - Documenting Stories - Show, Don't Tell01:25:16,245 - Rodeo Plans - Code of the West in Action01:27:01,635 - Huckberry Collaboration - Gear with Purpose01:30:12,480 - Zane Gray Influence - Roots of the West01:33:31,170 - Willingness to Fail - Authentic Grit01:34:53,310 - Wrapping Up - Leaving a Legacy01:35:29,219 - Closing & Thanks - A Lighter Farewell

Today I'm welcoming back my amazing client and friend, Chris Hunt Skelley MBE and owner of 2 Olympic medals. Chris, for anyone who doesn't know him, is a Judo champion who won a gold medal in Tokyo, and a bronze medal in Paris. This year has been a particularly traumatic one for Chris, who has had a lot of struggles with his mental health, leading up to taking part in his third Paralympics. I know you'll be equally as shocked as I was when you hear why. On more than one occasion this year, he was questioned about his condition. Even though the competition organisers had already received information about Chris' ocular albinism, they asked for more, which brought back memories of his teenage years when he was admitted to a psychiatric ward because the doctors thought he was making things up in his own head! This sent Chris in a downward spiral with his mental health.Chris also talks about how much support he gets from his lovely wife Louise Hunt Skelley, his coaches, family and friends too. He also talks about the highly emotional interview that Louise did with him in Paris after he'd just won his bronze medal. We talk about the important job his sponsors do, and how they help athletes to access the training they need.Having recently been diagnosed with Coeliac disease, Chris explains how this can mean that when travelling outside of the UK, he has to pack food to take with him, to keep him healthy. And, when they have a weight restriction, this doesn't help! If Chris' attitude to life doesn't impress you, nothing will!To contact Chris:Website: https://chrishuntskelley.co.uk/media/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christopher.skelley/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/christopher.skelley.3LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christopher-hunt-skelley-mbe-ply-73014212b/ X: https://x.com/ChristopherSke2If you would like to contact me, you can visit my www.Scottmedia.uk or join my free Facebook group here https://www.facebook.com/groups/prtribe

All rankings of the 25 007 films are purely personal preference, yet there are some listings that attract more controversy than others. Chris Hunt is the founder of a platform called The Code of the West. He's a writer, comic creator, artist, and has worked for some amazing brands like Kryptec and Black Rifle Coffee. I didn't know Chris but followed his page and thought he would be an interesting guy to get on the show... And boy was I right! Chris and I found several commonalities and have likely crossed trails a few times. We discuss his Code of the West ethos and how he believes the spirit of the West is still an underlying strength in American culture. We touch on this philosphy and bounce all over many topics from self-reliance to hunting and the politics between. I promise you're going to like Chris as much as I did!
