Bizarre News - December 2025 | Paranormal Podcast In this December edition of Bizarre News, we kick things off with a terrifying close-to-home story from Canton, Ohio, where an off-duty police officer working security at a Walmart experienced what could have been a fatal encounter. While booking shoplifter Shane Newton and his female accomplice in the back of the store, the officer performed only a partial pat-down before turning to radio the station—that's when Newton pulled out a concealed pistol and raised it to fire. In what can only be described as divine intervention, the gun jammed at the critical moment, giving the officer just enough time to deliver a flying knee strike that broke Newman's rib and allowed him to wrestle the weapon away. We also dive into psychic Uri Geller's bold claims about the interstellar comet 3I Atlas, which he insists is actually an alien spacecraft carrying extraterrestrial beings who have peaceful intentions for humanity. Ep 558 - Canada's Real Estate Crisis Continues Guest: Michael Geller By Stuart McNish   “The real estate crisis continues,” says Michael Geller. “The prime minister has made it one of his key priorities; he's said he wants to double annual housing production by getting into the business of building.” One of his first moves was to appoint former Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson to cabinet as Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities of Canada.   “He's an interesting choice for that role,” says Geller. “His record on housing when he was the mayor is spotty. He's often blamed unfairly for dramatic increases in housing prices.” After being appointed Minister, Mr. Robertson was asked if housing prices should be lower. He flatly stated no. The prime minister quickly jumped in to say it is not a “yes or no” question.   “I agree with the Prime Minister; it is not a yes or no question,” Geller says. “It's remarkably complicated. Much of what the PM is proposing has merit. This interview is with Sam Ekstrom-Welch, Rae-Ekstrom-Welch, and Kevin Geller. In this interview, Sam, Rae, and Kevin speak about their individual paths into the wine industry and how they came together to work at (and then own, along with Kevin's wife Olivia Schelly) Liner & Elsen wine shop.Kevin got into wine through food while living in Madison, Wisc., and once he was hooked pursued it passionately. Once he came to Portland, he found his way to Liner & Elsen in the early 2000s. Sam first worked in wine at the Portland Airport before starting at L&E in the 2010s. And Rae worked first in distribution before she and Sam were married.When the shop was available for purchase in 2022, the group worked together to figure out how to buy it, and then how to keep the important legacy while also helping it evolve to meet a new generation of wine drinkers. In Jennifer Geller's second episode, she talks about how heartbroken she was not to book Hamilton Chicago after being personally invited to audition by Andy Blankenbuehler. But when she eventually booked Hamilton's first national tour, Andy reminded her it was all about trusting the process. Easier said than done, but a good lesson nonetheless. Jennifer also goes in on how the the ensemble is an extension of Burr's mind, especially during "The Room Where it Happens" (it's fascinating, you have to hear this) and explains how Hamilton's purposeful choreography and storytelling spoils performers forever. Plus, we talk about Hamilton coming back to Broadway after the COVID-19 lockdown and how we both used to be insufferable nightmares who didn't have any work/life balance but we've both moved on from that nonsense and have changed for the better (thank god).
