The global crypto markets have been in correction mode these past seven days, following the dramatic dip witnessed last Friday. At US$1.03tn, market capitalisation is still trending 5% down week on week, though it has regained ground since Monday's price point of one trillion. Bitcoin is sitting 6% down at US$21,400 against the week, while Ethereum's US$1,660 price tag represents losses of over 8%. EOS's recent rally culminated in gains of 18% across the past seven days, bringing the blockchain token's market cap up to US$656mln. The Cosmos blockchain's ATOM token added 16% to its now US$3.6bn market cap, whlie the Decred network and the Nexo centralised finance platform also performed well this week. On the flipside, the US$1.7bn decentralised storage platform Filecoin suffered double-digit losses, as did the Flow network and move-to-earn (M2E) project Stepn. In the decentralised finance space, total volumes across all protocols dropped by 3.5%, mainly due to last Friday's market dip. Lido and Aave both suffered around 8% in losses, while MakerDAO lost 4.5%.

Bitmain Antminer DR5 was manufactured by Bitmain , The Chinese mining hardware manufacturing leader. The device functions with the same Blake algorithm as the previous version DR3, It has a hash rate of 35TH/S with 1800W power consumption. Bitmain Antminer DR5 is used to mine Decred (DCR). Decred is an excellent community-directed cryptocurrency with built-in governance designed to make it a superior store in the future. Decred's hybrid PoW/PoS consensus mechanism and its continually funded treasury was intended to make the coin secure and adaptable. Currently, on CoinMarketCap, the coin ranks No 62. Antminer Dr5 has a top hash rate of 35Th/s, which means the Antminer Dr5 can make up 34 trillion calculations per second. Bitmain Antminer DR5 is currently making $300 per month, which means you can earn around $3,000 per year using this device. If the price of DCR rises, higher profitability may occur. Antminer Dr5 It comes with a PSU and two cooling fans. Its size is about 175 x 279 x 238 mm and weighs 9.4kg. It uses the Ethernet interface to mine, and in standard mining conditions, the noise level is about 76dB, which is above the noise level of a vacuum cleaner, but it still is ear-friendly. The noise level of 76dB, which is standard for most ASIC miners. The noise level is understandable as miners consume lots of power and require cooling systems, which constitute the noise level. The miner can be heard from a staircase when set up in a residential area. So the owner has to make use of noise isolation techniques, and it is best to set up in mining farms. One advantage of Antminer Dr5 is the potential of its mining algorithm. The Blake-256r 14 was part of the top 5 finalists in the well-known NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) competition. According to experts, the Blake 256 is higher than the SHA-256, Scrypt, and Groestl. The recommended ambient temperature should be about 15 to 35 degrees Celsius. To be specific, the miner temperature intake air should fall around this range. Even if the room temperature is cool, the miner's intake temperature might still be high because of dust accumulation or some other reason. You should Clean the miner if needed to regulate the temperature.

In this episode, DT walked us through why he considered the hybrid consensus is the more ideal approach. Specifically, DT talked about some of the problems in Bitcoin (and its community) and how the Decred team attempted to solve them. He also touched upon how Decred tried to attract more active contribution to the Decred community via the POS participation. This conversation elaborates a lot about what the Decred core contributors believe to be the "collective wisdom". It points out a more natural approach of community growth, one that is quite different from what we are used to (or the approach that many smart contract platforms adopt) these days. Today’s episode features an interview between Meltem Demirors - cryptocurrency investor, advisor, advocate, and Chief Strategy Officer of the digital asset management firm, CoinShares - and Patrick Stanley, Head of Growth at Blockstack PBC. The two discuss all things staking and governance. They talk about various protocols implementing staking, relate contemporary crypto networks back to classical Greek philosophy, explore the future (or lack of one) of VC in light of recent crypto developments, and more. Show Notes 1:01 An overview of staking. 2:18 Ethereum’s launch introduced hypothetical thing called proof of stake. 4:04 What are the benefits for stakers? 4:25 Staking does not earn a yield, but rather inflation. 5:32 Some networks are introducing negative rewards to incentivize participation. 8:38 Ancient Greek philosopher, Polybius, wrote a book called The Social Political Cycle on governance 3,000 years ago. Learn more: https://www.britannica.com/biography/Polybius 10:13 Are stakers making governance decisions in Tezos? 10:29 Tezos’ governance system is the same as the function that secures the network. 10:49 Decred is structuring itself difference, separating those two functions into separate entities. 11:34 “History doesn’t repeat, but it certainly rhymes.” 11:54 Third point on Polybius. 13:48 Thoughts on UX and some of the pitfalls when custody is required to do staking. 16:19 How proxy voting can lead to voting cartels, as has emerged on EOS. 17:30 Meltem unpacks her quote about how ‘protocols don't exist in a vacuum when it comes to collusion, bribery, alliances, etc.'. Original article: https://decryptmedia.com/6377/staking-meltem-demirors-proof-of-stake-coinbase-tezos 19:15 “Economically speaking, a cartel is not necessarily negative.” 21:15 “In the EOS network, BlockOne owns 10% of the tokens and actively participate in voting for block producers.” 22:01 How staking can be used in support of applications. 23:09 A challenge with applications right now is there's a competition among protocols for use cases. 24:56 Meltem's view on how VC gets involved in staking and what the evolution of that might look like. 26:37 “Financial engineering has created all of the wealth we see in America... and crypto networks are rife for financial engineering.” 29:13 “One of the things we don't think about enough are incentives.” 30:30 Are there any projects showing early signs of avoiding ‘tragedy of the commons’? 32:00 “I do have a concern about a lot of projects.” 33:34 Who outside crypto land might help accelerate the experimentation with staking and governance? 34:50 Where should people go to learn more about staking and governance? Welcome to episode 56 of The Bitcoin Game, I'm Rob Mitchell. I met Peter Kroll at a Bitcoin conference about a year ago. When I asked Peter what his involvement was with Bitcoin, he told me he created the original Bitcoin paper wallet at BitAddress.org. I was pretty impressed, having used his tool often! Peter had kept it a secret that he was behind BitAddress.org until late 2014, and even since then, he's kept a pretty low profile. We cover a ton of topics in this exclusive interview, including Peter's introduction to Bitcoin, his paper wallet system, Bitcoin's division, and much more. On tonight's episode of "The Crypto Show," we interview Marco Peerboom in studio and Kenn Bosak over Skype. We discuss the newly released beta for Politeia, the proposal-submission and voting system for Decred, as well as some of the finer technical points of how it operates. We cover Kenn's really cool Decred tattoo and the story behind it, as well as the super-snazzy, envy-inducing Decred jacket, available at Crypto Emporium, that he has been sporting in style for a while. (Once you see it, you will want it.) We also talk about Decred's experience at the Miami Bitcoin Conference, as well as upcoming conferences which Danny, Marco, and Kenn will be attending this year. We touch upon the advantages of DAOs, governance systems, signaling, and crypto-community voting systems (Dash, Decred) over cryptocurrencies whose decision-making is done by a centralized committee of developers (i.e., Bitcoin). We also get into a brief conversation about forking and the Bitcoin scalability debate. Somehow, goat porn makes its way into the conversation. We also discuss the regulatory nature of ICOs and what they future holds for them. It was an all-around great show.
On tonight's episode of "The Crypto Show," we interview Marco Peerboom, CTO and Cofounder of the cryptocurrency "Decred." Marco gives us a quick breakdown of just what Decred is and its features, and then he, Danny, and I discuss the many ways in which Decred is an improvement upon Bitcoin, in fact a "Bitcoin without the drama." We discuss the lightning network, Segwit, the decred governance structure, the Politeia proposal system, the upcoming DAE (Decentralized Autonomous Entity) to which will be donated proposal funds so that the community controls them, atomic swaps, and the upcoming Miami Bitcoin Conference. Marco makes a compelling case for why cryptocurrencies with governance structures, Dash and Decred in particular, will likely be the successful cryptos going forward. We also discuss the shortcomings of Bitcoin and why Bitcoin is at the crossroads that it is. At the end, Danny gives us a brief update from Mexico.
On Tonight's episode of "The Crypto Show," Danny has returned to Denver and reunited with Matt Monsour of "Ink It Over." Our guests in studio are "Dances With Bitcoin," a.k.a., Brian Deary, Chief Scientist of Factom, and Marco Pierbaum, formerly of Coinvoice and currently with the development team of Decred (decred.org). Matt cracks us up and informs us that his new Bitcoin/Dash ATM is having some difficulty with respect to the set-up process, but that Matt will have a tech buddy of his assist in getting it fully operational. We then discuss a little about the cannabis industry and Ethereum and crypto. Marco regales us with the details behind the cryptocurrency project "Decred," going into detail concerning its voting operations. Brian asks many pointed questions concerning the project, and we barely get a chance to discuss Ethereum. This show ends up being a lot of fun while being highly informative about a powerful crypto creeping below the surface that many might be aware of but probably should be keeping an eye on.
