No final da década, ele foi para a Índia e estudou com o guru hindu Neem Karoli Baba, que daria a Richard Alpert seu novo nome, que significa "Servo de Deus". Episode SummaryThe storied and kind-hearted Jai Uttal drops into the show for an extended conversation about music, monkey gods, gurus, India, sobriety, family, and ultimately the spiritual path of healing through love. We begin with an exploration of Jai's current practice of hyper-local kindness in a world where that resource is becoming increasingly scarce. From there we dive into Jai's latest musical offering, Hanuman Chalisa for World Peace. Not only does Jai share with us the intimate practice he's had with this widely venerated chant for over five decades, but he walks us through the creative context in which his first published recording of the Chalisa came to life. In his telling we gather the rich array of inspirations that bring about his creative gifts.Gradually, Jai invites us into the richness of his life, as he retells how the winding threads that have made up the fabric of his life came to be. We come to understand the overlapping events and energies of kirtan, India, gurus, dreams, drugs, anxieties, singing, but mostly love and family, have been ripples of his life. Along the way we hear about his intersections with Steve Jobs, Ali Akbar Khan, Neem Karoli Baba, Ram Das, and others. We hear about his initiation into kirtan, Indian classical music, and his profound relationships that unfolded with musical and spiritual masters. We also hear about the struggles with finding his voice, performing, and managing the pains of life with drugs and alcohol before he found his true loves in his wife Nubia and in becoming a father to his son, Ezra. In the beginning, middle, and end, the beloved monkey god, Hanuman, walks with us, serving as a back-drop of Jai's own spiritual journey as he realizes the profound and ordinary teachings love and devotion have in his, just like every other human life. A beautiful conversation that bares the heart in a way that we can't help but be moved by. About: Jai Uttal is a husband, father, neighbor, and friend. He's more widely know for being a Grammy nominated sacred music composer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and ecstatic vocalist. Jai combines influences from India with influences from American rock and jazz, creating a stimulating and exotic multi-cultural fusion that is truly world spirit music.Jai has been leading, teaching and performing kirtan around the world for close to 50 years, creating a safe environment for people to open their hearts and voices.

Brilliant Disguise tells the unique story of a group of inspired Western spiritual seekers from the 60s, who in meeting the great American teacher, Ram Dass, followed him to India to meet his Guru, Neem Karoli Baba, familiarly known as Maharaj-ji. Two days before he left his body, Maharaj-ji instructed K.C. Tewari to take care of the Westerners, which he did resolutely until the day he died in 1997. Silver's #1 charting MGM/UA/Warners film, “The Compleat Beatles” is the critically acclaimed biopic movie about history's most famous band. Listen along as Mokshani opens up about how her spiritual path has made the most profound impact on her mental health, the miracles that ensued on her recent trip to India, her career as an occupational therapist, and her observations about the ways she's seen Western medicine begin to integrate more ancient Eastern wisdoms into its practices. We also discuss the most fun and fascinating aspects of living here in the South, and our shared lifelong appreciation for classic rock and boy bands. For context, when we discuss Maharaj-ji, we are referring to Neem Karoli Baba who was Ram Dass's very beloved guru and was also believed to be the reincarnation of the Hindu monkey god, Lord Hanuman. There are many stories recounting Maharaj-ji's playful spirit and I think he may have mischievously been messing with me as I set up the audio for this interview, so my apologies for the sound quality and that my voice sounds a bit distorted— though, fortunately, Mokshani does not. I know you'll thoroughly enjoy her magnetic energy and her way of being as she shares her take on life. Also, we decided to record outside because it was such a pretty day so you'll get to enjoy lots of ambient noises from the surrounding birds, planes, helicopters, and wind. I appreciate your grace as I continue to learn on the job! On a more serious note, I happen to be publishing this episode just one day after a horrific event took place, where over 100 people lost their lives in a stampede that occurred at a satsang event in Hathras, India. Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in India who are suffering as a result of this incident, as well as to all beings who are suffering around the world right now. Ram Ram Hype Song: Hanuman Chaleesa by Krishna DasLyrics and TranslationShare your thoughts, feelings, and questions about the episode with Destiny at intentionalbusinesspodcast@gmail.com You can follow along on Instagram at @destinyonearth

These chants have no meaning other than the experience that we have by doing them. They come from the Hindu tradition, but it's not about being a Hindu, or believing anything in advance. It's just about doing it, and experiencing. Nothing to join, you just sit down and sing. The repetition of the holy names reveals a presence hidden within the heart. "Acknowledging the good that is already in your life is the foundation for all abundance."-Eckhart TolleCeaselessly acknowledging God by feeling Love, and knowing this Love as the source of 'the good that is already in your life', is the foundation for all abundance. Today we practice remembering that this feeling of God, our Joy is the foreground of our experience, not the background.  We eat joyfully, drive joyfully, breathe in Joy, walk in Joy... we do everything we normally do on a Sunday morning, but with conscious Joy.  We do all of it as if we  are existing  and moving in and through a Joy bubble... feeling this same Joy within and without.  The more we remember to feel this all-pervasive Joy, the more our life changes. The instant you feel Joy is the instant the changes begin.“Whoever works for God, his work will be done by itself.”-Neem Karoli Baba aka  Maharajji "For one who sees Me everywhere, and everything in Me; I am never lost to Him, and he is never lost to Me."-Sri Krishna (Bhagavad Gita)   "Wherever you concentrate, and on whatever centre, there must be a you to concentrate, and that is what you must concentrate on."-Ramana Maharshi"A fully Krishna (God) Conscious person, although situated in this material world, does not see anything but Krishna."-Unknown*Krishna is the God of Love in Hinduism"I Am so often not recognized. Life is a thing so taken for granted. Blessed art thou that thou dost love, recognize, and adore the Power indwelling.  For I blend with your body, I thrill through your veins, I think through your mind, and love through your heart center, even as I am the One who thrills through every other being of My creation...This is your lesson for the day. Bow before Me in all whom you contact and you shall see miracles spring from the very dirt beneath your feet."-Eva Bell Werber,  Voice of the MasterI Love you and I'm with you,Nik p.s. The moment you remember what you are,the moment you shift your identity from being the person that's worrying,to being the Love that the worried person is happening in,the Love that they came from, you've initiated the change. You've initiated the healing. That's the key that opens the door. That's the Love that guides your steps through that door and into the room with Christ, where there is no darkness, where there is no 'you',only the pure Light of God.The sound of Love.RamRamRam.I Love you,Niknikki@curlynikki.comI'm traveling through the end of the month with my mom, sister, aunt, and grandma! Learn to find the love within."-Neem Karoli Baba"When you're anxious or worried, be patient. The key of patience opens the door of happiness. "-Rumi"Just drop everything and become aware of this inner presence. This inner presence is all that you have to work with, and it is all that matters."-Herb Fitch"The moment your mind starts worrying, know that at that moment, your mind has wandered away from Him. Bring it back to Him and watch your worries melt away."-Geetima via IG"Your suffering serves no other purpose than as an impetus for your awakening. It is meant to reveal your ignorance, so that you can transcend it."-Zen Thinking"Go direct to the Christ. Christ I Am, here, there, and everywhere... Christ fills this room, Christ fills this entire threatened area. Then wait, wait to feel the One Christ Presence.  Because Christ is everywhere and only Christ fills all space and time, the drought or flood is not there. Christ is there. When Christ within is real to you, Christ will manifest out there as peace, serenity, the end of the problem."-Herb Fitch, Maui Talks  "Perfect calmness is when you do not change. No matter what you see, no matter what is going on around you, you stay relaxed: peaceful. You may say this is impossible to do; on the contrary, it's not. You can make yourself this way for this is your true state to begin with. Perfect calmness, perfect happiness, perfect peace."-Robert Adams Support the show

Only God is repeating God's Name. The highest version of you is the only one that can remember to take the Name. When you're hearing the Name within, you're being your highest Self. So sit up higher. Look higher. What do you hear? This is (Y)our Silence. Only (Y)our Silence will save you. And you don't have to silence your thoughts to hear It. You don't have to silence me to hear It. You don't have to silence your children, your husband, your wife to hear It. You are It. Say that- "I Am it.I Am That. I'm the One, that serves the One,appearing as the all. When I'm chanting the Name, my highest GoOD is happening.  It is being done and It is done.  I Love you, I Am you, nik Support the show▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmornings__________________________________________Today's Quotes:    "...the Christian Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1) This Word is the inner Sound. It has also been called the Logos, Shabd, Tao, Soundstream, Naam, or the Celestial Music. Master Ching Hai says, "It vibrates within all life and sustains the whole universe. This inner Melody can heal all wounds, fulfill all desires, and quench all worldly thirst. It is all powerful and all love. It is because we are made of this Sound that contact with it brings peace and contentment to our hearts.
