Gok Wan is a renowned stylist and television presenter. Over the years, Gok has transformed the way we think about style and body image with his much-loved series How to Look Good Naked and Gok's Fashion Fix – his focus on body positivity was the antidote to the crash-dieting fads which dominated the 2000s. Later in his career, Gok drew upon his Chinese heritage to author books on Chinese cooking. On the podcast he tells Liv and Lara about growing up in a Chinese restaurant, why hosting is more like ‘theatre' and why he always abides by the five-second rule.

In this term's opener we reveal some earth shattering news from the summer break but pull ourselves together and cast an eye over the pre-season so far. After welcoming the Baa Baas to Ashton Gate with a gift of 50 plus points, shipping even more down at Sandy Park with a team requiring parental permission to play, and then getting ‘edged out' by Ealing Trailfinders the week after, we celebrate our own bit of edging with our thoughts on the last gasp victory over Northampton Saints at the weekend. Ultimately we all agree that it'll probably be the first 20 minutes against Tigers that will really tell us how the season is likely to pan out despite an imminent visit up north to Donny and a home game against the mighty Cambridge in the Prem Cup to come.In other news, Southville's very own answer to Gok Wan, Miles, (yes, I said Gok Wan) provides a granular review of the new kit/night wear and we finish off with a discussion about the positive moves afoot from the club to create more links with fans. The sound is a little bit screechy at times but we're trialling a new sound recorder and editing process so be patient. It's just good to be back talking rugby and supping beer.Up the Bears!

I got the call on Tuesday. I'm not talking literally. It came in a text message and instructed me to follow the link to online booking. I did as I was told but it didn't like my text enlargement. It would be a best guess then. If I had more of an eye for detail, I might not have made such a hash of it. A ten-minute car journey could be anything from twenty minutes or an hour on, that Emperor of transport, the bus. I split the difference and allowed forty minutes. In the best tradition of royalty, the bus kept me waiting. It kept me waiting for longer than three buses were timetabled for. There was quit a little clutch of mask clad passengers poised to jostle for the door when it finally opened. I did what I always do. I went to sit down in the first available seat. “Not here,” said a muffled voice. On to the next seat then. “You can't sit here,' said another muffled voice as she banged her knuckles vigorously on the window. Where was I to sit? Third time lucky. I've lost track of “the rules”. The variations that appear and disappear by way of poster and hazard tape are mysterious. The almost universal dread that travellers have of a stranger plonking themselves down next to them, may turn out to be a thing of the past, post pandemic. Getting the nerve up to repel advances for anyone hoping for a seat is now practised by even the most reticent of folk. Busy with the anti-fog spray that is a necessity for dark glasses while wearing a mask, I managed to miss my stop and had to walk back. It was an hour since I left home. I was late. In the vaccination centre no one seemed worried about tardy timekeeping. “What's your name today?” “Same as yesterday,” I said, unable to control myself and instantly regretting it. “Can't seem to find you. Are you sure it's today?” “I'm sure,” I said with all the confidence of someone who has already banked the money. “Could you just check your tezt message for me?' Who would know how easy it is to confuse a five with a six? “That was yesterday,” she said. “Don't worry. All sorted.” “Come along,” a looming voice said, making a play to hold hands. I froze. “I'll look after you,” she said, giving my resisting hand a good tug. I didn't say so, but while my failure to see what was in front of could not be helped, I wondered about holding hands with anyone dressed like that. What I did say was “you lead I'll follow.” Once jabbed, a nice volunteer came with me to the exit. “See you in 12 weeks,” she said. None of us could see what was plainly in front of us. At least I have an excuse. I'd been Gok Wan'd and was ten years younger. All the stresses of the afternoon ebbed away. What was in front of me next was Sainsburys. I went in to commit myself to 19 crimes, (a nice little cabernet blend). It would be deliciously accompanied by thinly sliced, lightly salted roasted veg. I picked a bag dusted with something that said it tasted of cheese but wasn't. Then I went wild. Thinly sliced roast potatoes were on a bogof. The second bag was doused in sea salt and cracked pepper -flavouring. I paid. I saw the number 3 and headed off on the number 5 until I realised my mistake and got out to walk home. My crimes were delicious and the veg turned out to be crisps. Hey there podcast fan! You've found the latest episode of the Chris Moyles Show on Radio X Podcast! This week, we kicked off with a story about our very own Dominic Byrne, and his brush with the law. Shaun Williamson, aka Barry from EastEnders, joined the show this week to present the Monday Night Pub Quiz, as Rob DJ was on his holidays. We were then visited by “Gok Wan”, who sounds VERY different to his usual self. We also quizzed our intern, Danny, on his questionable food and drinking habits. Our latest 'Who Are You' guest then turned out to be a BIG fan of Dom, before Chris got a migraine on air, which lead to him wearing a pair of Pippa's sunglasses, much to his dismay. We finished with a chat with Issy Panayis, and educated her all about the old ways of doing radio. But if that wasn't enough…. -Some fun Loch Ness merchandise -Some shorter-than-short short shorts -Some surreal Paul Turner jingles Enjoy! The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X Weekdays 6:30-10am

He is also doing work with Dermalogica around skin confidence and it was great to explore that side of things too. This is one of those episodes that I think will not only touch you but that could genuinely help you. Gok is so relatable and kind and I just know that you'll get a lot out of hearing his story.

*Apologies for the sound quality on this episode, we couldn't check the sound before going live and Tequila's lapel mic decided to break. But to quote Miss Mariah Carey, it is what it is!* This week, in our series finale, Lucien is joined by Drag Queen Tequila Thirst in the first ever live episode of Celebrity Prelash where they discuss: what Serena ChaCha is really like behind the scenes, horrifying Mayhem Miller in a Tia Kofi Comedy Roast, and the one time Tequila and Gok Wan were ACTUALLY in the same room as each other! Also, we find out which actress couldn't survive on $25k a year, and which iconic singer now holds a Swiss passport (featuring a cameo from Spanish Drag Superstar La Prohibida!) in our sexy Prelash games!

It's all about the confidence. These wise words were uttered by Gok Wan throughout much of the early noughties when he was on TV helping women find their self esteem, self worth and a bit of self love with their bodies. And today I'd like you to think of me as your podcasting Gok Wan because I'm here to get you podcast confident. Don't worry I won't ask you to strip down to your pants and vest and walk down the catwalk in the food court at the Trafford Centre, but I will ask you to put yourself out there when it comes to your podcast. So grab your headphones and prepare to get podcast confident! Give me a follow on the socials so you don't miss anything in between episodes You can find me here... The DO Lectures have a new podcast series entitled "DO Podcast with Gav Thompson". The first season is all about The Person behind The Story and The Story behind the Person and this is the second episode, entitled "Uncommon Conviction" with Johnnie Boden. Johnnie Boden is one of Britain's most successful entrepreneurs. He has built his fashion brand, Boden, to be one of the largest privately-owned clothing businesses in the UK. Boden is currently the 3rd biggest selling British fashion brand in the US. Johnnie talks with real honesty and authenticity to Gav about his uncommon conviction and how, as an untrained designer, he managed to believe in himself and his vision and build up his empire from very raw beginnings in 1991 selling menswear to his friends to becoming the huge womenswear and childrenswear empire that it is today. Johnnie talks about becoming the next Gok Wan and his uncanny similarities to his old schoolmate, Boris Johnson. Please listen, enjoy, review and subscribe. Show produced by George McDonagh. Music by James Morton.

Kirsty Young's castaway is the stylist Gok Wan.Dispensing fashion advice and hugs in equal measure, he aims, he says, to 'make women feel like women, not like turkeys'.Yet although he made his name as a stylist, his special talent isn't for fashion, but for gaining people's trust. He understands only too well the emotional journey he is asking women to make; the first person he had to transform was himself, and that, he says, is very much work in progress.Record: The Promise Book: Beautiful Thing by Jonathan Harvey Luxury: Lip balm.
