New Sode. Good Evening my fellow Monad Mermaids Bera Baddies Solana Sirens and desperate losers. Bitcoin is up, its MAGA Country I'm waxed Everywhere and Alexis Bellino is back on RealHousewives. Exhale. Alas, as I vlog from Club 55 in St Tropez contemplating my vapid alcoholic yet philanthropic existence, I find myself blessed with the presence of the Urbit Guys.  Urbit- a cult like organization formed for the purpose of creating a new internet everyone asked for and no one needs. After all, the internet is solely for Instagram likes and emails to my attorney/therapist.  btw Fuck your hourly Bill unless you accept Injective. In my quest to find moronic things to do with my alimony besides short dydx perps and surf the net a porter sale; I stumbled upon Urbit during an advert whilst watching extremely expensive porn.  My criteria for becoming financially and emotionally involved in a project or person is that I do not understand it at all, that it is extremely broken unavailable, solves no problems and has terrible reviews.  Urbit. A personal computer built from scratch you say, this sounds like a scheme the liberal media elite could use to front run their own agenda and further corrupt our crippled youth. What I have seen from my own digital world is that it is comprised of moronic plebians so the need to create my own remains lost, but I'm intrigued. I have had the pleasure of running into an Urbit guy or two throughout my impossibly interesting lifetime on the crypto junkie conference circuit; each one has a rather dramatic story to tell ranging from nearly plunging to his death with the late John John and CBK before narrowly escaping the plane to another claiming he used to get handjobs from Casey Anthony. Lucy, I am home. Ipso facto, my two guests are the devastatingly powerful Gary Liberman and his model associate programmer Will Hanlen. I met them in El Salvador during a yearly pilgrimage to pay homage to Bitcoin's first legal country and to get an enema. It occurred to me I was ready to join a new cult with beautiful men that has something to with Ethereum and Astrology where I would not have to do work. Will was a previous model in Asia and is now engaged in a torrid tinder love triangle with my cousin so he is basically family as soon as I review the financial prenup terms on Urbit. His contributions to Urbit are so profound I don't even know them but they result in his living in Missouri; indicating his rocketship success of a modeling career turned Urbit coder. And Gary. Gary is the polarizing man of our time who's sheer brilliance is recognized by the type of truck driver who reads Finnegan's Wake on a smoke break and the Connecticut Mom on Valium who counts down the hours to Whispering Angel Hour and gets off to Ulta beaty sales. Gary has the unique ability to be so offensive at a dinner party he can cause more than two people abruptly get up and complain to HR immediately, yet simultaneously cause the  dinner party guests on his right to wonder why he has not assumed higher office. It was a pleasure to talk about Urbit. I still have no idea what it is. I am all in.

He also talks about the differences between the best and average players in the NBA and reflects on his own past and his parents' sacrifices. Circuit of Success | Drew Hanlen   Speaker Brett Gilliland: Welcome to the Circuit of Success. I'm your host, Brett Gilliland, and today I've got Drew Hanlen with me, Drew. What's going on, my Hanlen, Speaker Drew Hanlen: nothing. Just getting ready for workouts today. It's it's early, West Coast time. So appreciate you having me on early and and being flexible with your schedule. Speaker Brett Gilliland: Absolutely, man. It's persistence, man. You're traveling all over the country and, helping all these guys and, but I wanted to have you on the podcast because it's, it's fun to see what you're doing, man. It's really cool. So, before we get really dive into some of the stuff, you are the CEO of pure sweat, in in an MBA, strategic skills coach and consultant, you work with all sorts of NBA players. I won't name drop on here, but people can check out your, Instagram, and you can pretty much see who you work with. But it's amazing to see what you're doing. But if you can, Drew, kinda open it up with what's made you the man you are today. I know that's a really big, wide open question, but kinda like to see what's made you the man you are today. Speaker Drew Hanlen: Yeah. You know, I I always tell people that, you know, you're not only a product of all the hard work that put in, but you're also a product of, everything that built you and made you. And, you know, if I look at kind of the the things that have allowed me to, achieve whatever level of success, that I've been able to have right now, it really starts way back when, you know, the other day, I was driving two workouts Gilliland, I saw a little lemonade stand. And, you know, my girlfriend was in the passenger side, and I I whipped, you know, whipped quick right turn into like a parking spot. And she was like, is everything okay? And I was like, I literally have a rule. I cannot drive past a lemonade stand. Just because, Speaker Brett Gilliland: you know, Speaker Drew Hanlen: I remember myself, you know, making sure that I had eliminated sand when I was younger, and I cut grass when I was younger, and I shoveled snow when I was younger, you know, growing up in St. Louis, you get, you know, all the seasons. So that means you get all the little, businesses as a youngster. So Speaker Brett Gilliland: When you may cut Gilliland shovel snow in like a forty eight hour period too, you know. Yeah. Speaker Drew Hanlen: I know. Right? I know. Right? So, you know, there's so many moments like that that just snapped me back to kind of the the grind that I had when I was younger. You know, even now, I'm in the product, you know, the process of publish it my first self help book. And, it takes me back to my first ever self published book that I did when I was in high school and sold them out of my backpack and the trunk of my car. Wow. You know, and then even just, you know, the work that I put in with with my players, you know, Bradley Beal was the first ever basketball player that I ever started working with, and I started working with him when he was thirteen. I was seventeen. So I was still in high school. I didn't know I had to be a basketball trainer at that time, but I did know how to put in a lot of hard work. I knew, you know, consistent work, you know, plus you know, the right work led to good results.

For all players that want to work up to another level, the required drive and dedication is the starting point to succeed. At Webster Groves High School, Coach Jay Blossom had seen players of all ability levels in his program. In Drew, Coach Blossom found a hungry, committed player that was willing to put in the hours and reps needed get better. That no limits, no shortcuts approach is relatable for all players of a high caliber. Still, for all of those that want to be great, the necessary attention to detail and capacity to improve on weaknesses demands a relentless will to push beyond regular expectations. With Coach Blossom, Drew identifies the parallel traits that drove a young kid to build on a passion, to where all players can draw on their own experiences. Simone Hanlen loves to run but also loves to eat. She is an ultra-marathoner, a tennis coach, a fellow Peloton member, and a huge fan of New York's amazing restaurant scene. You can follow Simone on Instagram @NYCMuncher to see some of the best eats around the city and get a glimpse into her running life too. Simone has run a marathon in all 50 states and did a shorter version of the famous 3100 race around one city block in Queens, New York. She has great insight into a variety of scenic marathons and courses all over the country from her travels. Simone and I also share the goal of doing one marathon a year the rest of our lives! We also cover how Simone has run 5 marathons while pregnant and even had to deal with contractions during one of her race. Simone and I close out the interview by discussing eating issues and how people can approach eating food in a healthy way. And just in case you were curious, Simone's favorite NYC bagel place is Zucker's with Ess-a-Bagel in a close second and Mama Too's is her go-to pizza place on the Upper West Side. We of course touch upon the Milano Market, my personal favorite sandwich shop and Simone gives a tip for which location to visit during the episode too.

“Why the conversation about mindset and why is it important? It's not just about success, it's not about getting shit done, it's not about being uber successful in business or in life. It's really how we approach business, how we approach life. It's actually all about us and how we view the world.” – Patrick Francey    Selected links and people mentioned in this episode: Mindset Matters Registration The Mind-Gut Connection by Emeran Mayer, MD The Second Brain by Michael D. Gershon, MD You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay Dr. Paul Stoltz Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin Connect with REIN Canada REIN Canada CEO@reincanada.com REIN Channel Facebook Instagram Twitter SHOW NOTES [0:05] Patrick introduces this special edition TEDM and a new opportunity that together with his wife and partner Steffany Hanlen, they are offering called “Mindset Matters.” A bigger, deeper conversation supporting and strengthening mindset. [03:00] Steffany and Patrick dive right in to discuss Mindset Matters and the big reason behind facilitating and holding space for these meetings and conversation. Curiosity is the inspiration behind it. [04:46] Definition of mindset. It's so much deeper than success in business and getting shit done. It's rooted in our approach and how we view the world. Further, we can shift the filters through which we see and develop curiosity to help navigate how we make decisions particularly when we are under stress and pressure. [06:32] Patrick offers a question which we can ask ourselves to get to the heart of a situation beyond emotion. Because at times, we connect emotional dots that may not be the truth. Steffany expands on self-agency to discuss values-based decision making and guiding principles which can serve as touchstones on our path amid uncertainty. [9:03] Breaking down the word mindset: what we are setting our minds and hearts to. In Steffany's study and work she is observing that we are not at all multi-taskers, rather mono-taskers. With the pervasiveness of technology, we in fact have decreased our capacity to hold multiple containers in our brain of things to consider. Steffany broadens the concept with an example plus a tool to help stay focused in the moment while linking the present to our future goals. [12:15] Steffany and Patrick discuss the effects of what our body is taking in, and the information this feeds to our brain. Nutrition, exercise, environment, self-talk – these all significantly affect our emotions, which can then create a state of misinformation to our consciousness. When we can slow down and observe our own environment it will help to connect to our personal spirituality and support healthy messages within our consciousness. [18:06] Developing our understanding of what's unfolding within and around us can also be of support, so we are not at the emotional effect of it. We don't fully know what our belief systems are until they're tested, and right now they are being hammered with divisiveness and cognitive dissonance. [19:46] Having community and support is immensely helpful, but we also must look at what happens when we are outside of that environment. How are we supporting ourselves on a daily basis when we get hit with challenges? The paradox of emotions we face can be aided by digging into our mindset and building resilience. Steffany highlights the value of the work she and Patrick have done and continue to do to move forward and manage the challenges they encounter. [22:38] Patrick speaks to the intention behind Mindset Matters and the potential for shifting our lens of possibility to move or even avoid the roadblocks we encounter on our path forward. Again, embracing that mindset and journey of curiosity empowers us to get out of our own way and kick self-sabotage to the curb. [25:03] Steffany and Patrick identify our two main drivers as humans in the space of parenting and belief systems.

“For me, and the success of what I've done, whether its financially, business-wise, turning a business around, taking couples to the podium, taking business owners through their own journey [the key] is mindset. It doesn't mean you have to be super strong or mentally tough, that's not it. It's [being] truly committed and having the courage that it takes to do things that other people aren't willing to do and be willing to be misunderstood.” – Steffany Hanlen-Francey Steffany Hanlen-Francey is a business owner, international speaker, coach, mentor, innovator, pioneer and path-finder for entrepreneurs and leaders.
