This led him to join the Prasanthi Nilayam ashram in 1983 and undertake various tasks for the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. In 1997 he was asked to take care of the Shanthi Bhavan - the guest house inside the ashram which he did diligently till he left his mortal coil at the ripe age of 103 years. More than his service, his attitude towards service and his deep faith in Bhagawan was something absolutely exemplary.
