It definitely was a better look for Kamala Harris who kept the heat on and definitely got under Trumps skin.  Next Jared Young is a Senate hopeful in the state of missouri who has his work cut out for him against Lucas Kunce and Josh Hawley. Jared sits down to discuss his background, uprbringing and the type of candidate that he will be for the people of Missouri.  Finally Adam Sommers comes on to discuss our current political situation and his thoughts on the debate and if he saw the same things we saw. As early as 1949, Mallinckrodt Chemical Works, the company that refined uranium for the federal government, was aware the waste could escape the barrels it was stored in and contaminate the nearby creekThe Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry concluded in 2019 that children and adults who played in or near Coldwater Creek or lived in its floodplain between the 1960s and 1990s may have been exposed to radioactive materials that raise the risk of certain cancers. The agency — part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — recommended signs be placed along the creek to warn residents of the potential exposure risk.The Army Corps said there was nothing specific that caused the agency to change its mind on installing the signs. Diana DeGette used a mechanism in the House of Representatives that would force a vote on a bill without leadership's approval to bring forward a vote on a gun safety bill. DeGette, who represents Denver in Congress, alongside House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Chair Mike Thompson, a California Democrat, filed a discharge petition to force a vote on the Keep Americans Safe Act. The bill would ban large capacity magazines - those that can hold 30-100 rounds - with a few exceptions and will likely struggle to get through the Republican-controlled House.DeGette said high-capacity magazines were used in all of the 10 deadliest mass shootings in the country. She said the only purpose of these magazines is to kill a lot of people in a short amount of time. “These events continue to re-traumatize our community and our nation, because no community has been untouched by this deadly epidemic,” DeGette said. “In mass shootings with four or more people killed between 2015 and 2022, high-capacity magazines led to more than twice as many people being killed and nearly 10 times as many people being wounded per incident on average.”The petition requires 218 signatures to force a vote on the floor, and with 213 Democrats in the House, at least five Republicans would need to sign. DeGette said she thinks some Republicans in the House represent districts impacted by mass shootings and may be under pressure from their constituents to ban high-capacity magazines. U.S. Rep. Robotter viser sig at være nyttige for menneskeheden – også til sociale formål. Men kan man ligefrem lære en robot at tage sig af mennesker? I en samtale under Heartland 2022 mødtes to af Danmarks førende eksperter indenfor robotvidenskab og robotfilosofi, Thomas Bolander og Johanna Seibt, i en samtale om, hvorvidt intelligente robotter vil gøre mennesker overflødige.Thomas Bolander er professor på DTU, hvor han forsker i logik og kunstig intelligens (AI) med særlig fokus på sociale aspekter af AI. Han har opstartet forskningsfeltet Epistemisk Planlægning, hvor målet er at give AI-systemer som robotter evnen til at tage højde for andre, når de planlægger deres handlinger. Bolander er desuden en af Danmarks førende formidlere af AI, hvorfor han også blev kåret som årets underviser på DTU i 2006 og i 2019 modtog H.C. Ørstedsmedaljen for fremragende forskningsformidling. Johanna Seibt er professor i filosofi på Aarhus Universitet og leder den tværfaglige enhed “Research Unit for Robophilosophy and Integrative SocialRobotics”. Sammen med sine kollegaer har hun etableret ”robophilosophy” som et nyt område i international filosofisk forskning og udarbejdet en ny tilgang til ansvarlig udvikling af sociale robotter. Metoden hedder Integrative Social Robotics og skal sikre, at vi kun bruger anvendelse af robotteknologi, som bevarer kulturelle værdier. Forskningsgruppens arbejde har fået anerkendelse fra forskellige nationale og internationale forskningsfonde. Han er særligt kendt for sit troværdige og humoristiske sprog og hans imponerende karakteropbygning.   Multitalent, musiker og satiriker. Simon Kvamm har i mange år været et velkendt navn og er anerkendt som en af Danmarks største musikere i bandene Nephew, De eneste to og HUGORM. Han er også kendt for sit skuespil og satiriske arbejde. Vi så ham først i DR2-programmerne ''Drengene fra Angora'' og ''Angora by Night''. Men hvorfor har vi som samfund så svært ved at acceptere og inkludere nye familieformer, der falder bare en lille smule uden for normen? Svend Brinkmann er professor ved Aalborg Universitet og forsker i blandt andet psykologiens filosofi, moralpsykologi, etik og kulturkritik. Han er velkendt som vært på Brinkmanns Briks og har skrevet eller redigeret mere end 30 bøger og næsten 200 videnskabelige artikler. Svend Brinkmann har modtaget flere priser, blandt andet DR's formidlingspris, Rosenkjærprisen og Gyldendals formidlingspris. Camilla Tved er jordeperson, sexolog, foredragsholder og underviser. Gennemgående for al hendes arbejde er, at hun har en normkritisk tilgang og særligt fokus på mennesker, der på den ene eller anden måde bryder med samfundsnormer. Det var et af de store spørgsmål, som den tidligere minister og EU-kommissær Ritt Bjerregaard og prisvindende forfatter Stine Pilgaard diskuterede, da de mødtes i under sidste års Heartland. I en kærlig og perspektiverende samtale diskuterede de det uundgåelige faktum – nemlig det at blive ældre. Ritt Bjerregaard var aktiv politiker for Socialdemokratiet i over 40 år. Hun har besiddet adskillige ministerposter gennem tiden og var desuden Danmarks første kvindelige EU-kommissær. Hertil var hun Københavns overborgmester i perioden 2006-2010. Siden hendes politiske karriere sluttede, har Ritt fungeret som forfatter, foredragsholder og politisk kommentator. Stine Pilgaard er uddannet i Dansk på København Universitet og dimitterede fra Forfatterskolen i 2010. Hun har skrevet romanerne ”Min mor siger”, ”Lejlighedssange” og ”Meter i sekundet”, som har vundet et utal af priser. Hendes romaner er særligt rost for deres originalitet, humor og raffinerede dialoger.
