Hello soccer fans! Anyone have a CCL hangover yet? We'll cover that (and possible remedies) in our next episode, but right now we turn our attention to the 2019 Major League Soccer season as we preview the next four teams in the league, alphabetically: LAFC - This team has MLS Cup aspirations, and they have the talent on the roster to do it. They won't take anyone by surprise like they did in their expansion season, but with the likes of Vela and Rossi, and new signing Zelaya, LAFC are poised to win the West and the Cup. LA Galaxy - Coming off a season of dysfunction and failing to make the playoffs, Zlatan & Co. are primed to elevate their games. However, they still have too many Designated Players (DPs) on the roster and a new coach trying to implement a new system. With the Western Conference growing ever-stronger, where does this original MLS club fit in today's league? MNUFC - Minnesota United have declared they are ready to compete for trophies, not just points. They've got intstant defense by transferring in Ike Opara from Sporting KC and have solidified the midfield with international signing Jan Gregus. Now, can they link everything together to keep Ibarra and Quintero scoring goals? Montreal Impact - A team that flies under the radar until Ignacio Piatti does something spectacular, Montreal is looking to get back to the playoffs after nearly missing out in 2018. Whether or not the roster has been reworked enough to get there remains to be seen. Our hosts don't think they're quite at that level, and the Impact will likely be watching the 2019 MLS playoffs from home.   Thanks for listening and be sure to join the conversation in the comments below or on twitter @SOPSoccer.

D.C. United got stymied midweek before getting some points on the weekend, and Filibuster breaks it down for you. Jason, Adam, and Ben talk about how D.C. United let the New York Red Bulls play the style that they wanted to play and contrast that with how Wayne Rooney influences the game, as shown by their uptick in play when he subbed in and his play throughout the game against the Colorado Rapids. We also discuss Russell Canouse's return and figure out who should be playing in D.C. United's central midfield. We have to break down Kellyn Acosta's goal and how he got so wide open, continue to discuss D.C. United's defense, and talk about Tim Howard's poor play. In the second segment we preview D.C. United's weekend road trip to face the Montreal Impact. We talk about how the Impact are likely the team that United will have to beat out to make it to the playoffs, discuss their horrific start (which seems to have been a theme for them), and discuss how they've started to right the ship. When you talk about the Impact you always have to talk about Ignacio Piatti, and then Jason tells us how D.C. United should gameplan for him and his teammates. Give it a listen!

Even though we are a day late we are always here for you: it is Filibuster time! Jason, Adam, and Ben are here and we go deep on D.C. United's 3-1 win over Atlanta United. We talk about the first ten minutes and what a scramble it was, the D.C. United goals that changed the game, and the injuries to Luciano Acosta and Bill Hamid. We also break down the formation shift that happened early in the game, the expected goals for both teams throughout, and the play of Sebastien LeToux. In the second segment we preview the upcoming game against the Montreal Impact. We talk about their play on the counter and how important Ignacio Piatti is to that, as well as what the injury to Matteo Mancosu might mean for United's chances. We also talk formations, gameplans, and even some about magnets, so give it a listen!

On this episode of Soccer 2 the MAX, Sean Garmer, Erik Watkins and Rachael McKriger give an update on the Major League Soccer expansion teams. Especially since the St. Louis stadium bid fell through and it puts a lot of cities into the mix again. All thanks to a great article by Soccer America. The trio also give a recap of MLS Week 8. How is FC Dallas the only undefeated team standing. What's going on with the Philadelphia Union? Is Cyle Larin the best striker in MLS? How great is Ignacio Piatti? We discuss it all and more. Rachael also gives a great NWSL Week 2 Recap as well. She gives a breakdown on the performance of each team. Erik has a grade for Marta in her first game for the Orlando Pride. Not to mention, there's a certain player Rachael compares to Christian Pulisic too.

Filibuster is back, and does not recommend you listen to Jason's story that opens the podcast. Ben and Adam are here too, and we have to talk about D.C. United's destruction at the hands of Toronto FC. We talk about how bad Jared Jeffrey was and how D.C. United let the game get out of control from the very beginning. We apologize for waking up Sebastian Giovinco, and talk about Luciano Acosta's performance. We end by talking about the lack of anyone being able to cross, and some transfer rumors involving D.C. United players. We then talk about the upcoming game against another Canadian team, the Montreal Impact and Didier Drogba. We talk about him and about Ignacio Piatti, how up and down their defense has been, and if United can do anything to break them down. Give it a listen!

So for the second straight year, MLS First Kick ended up feeling more like a first kick in the nuts of the year for Vancouver Whitecaps, as they went down to a 3-2 defeat to an impressive Montreal Impact side. We're joined by Harjeet Johal to pick over the bones of the 'Caps season opening loss. What went wrong? What was up with the usually stellar Vancouver defence, Fraser Aird and the lack of tracking back from the midfielders? And what happened to converting more of those chances? We look at all this and a lot more from the game from both a Whitecaps and an Impact perspective. We hear from both coaches, Carl Robinson and Mauro Biello, about what they thought of their sides opening day performance and what they can take away from the match, and chat with one of Montreal's goalscorers, Dominic Oduro, about the game, his goal and the play of Ignacio Piatti. And there's still time to catch up with new Montreal midfielder Harry Shipp and find out about how he's settling in to his new team, the weirdness and pressure of not turning out in a Chicago jersey, and his thoughts on the season opener. There's a lot of chat to be had, so have a listen!

In the seventy-second episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam, Dan, Dan and Joel look back on Argentina's 3-1 friendly win over Germany hours before, and consider just how little we learned about Argentina from it. We have a Lionel Messi stat-off, before moving on to consider the lowest-scoring round of football in the Argentine Primera División in just over a decade. We wonder who owns Ignacio Piatti, exactly (he's signed for San Lorenzo since the episode was recorded), consider Lucas Ocampos' move to AS Monaco and briefly preview the coming weekend's clásico de Avellaneda among other things. Enjoy.
