Women's soccer shut out both Seattle U and Cal Baptist in their wins. Men's soccer split their road trip with a win at Chicago State and a loss at Houston Baptist. Men's golf is in action at the Hoakalei Invitational in Hawaii. Women's golf is in action at the “Clash at Boulder Creek” in Boulder City, Nevada, hosted by NAU. Women finished first and men second at the Utah Open last Thursday in SLC. Everlyn Kemboi won the women's race, her first-career win at UVU. Elizabeth Zwahlen finished 4th, Madison White 6th, and Abby Linford 10th. Men finished second overall, led by a 4th-place finish by Hawk Call. Cameron Jacobs also landed in the top 10, with a 10th place finish. Sean Walker and Jake Hatch are back to begin the 2021 Major League Soccer campaign with an all-new edition of Salt City FC. In their 2021 debut episode they began with the big news of former Real Salt Lake captain Kyle Beckerman taking the reins of the Utah Valley University men's soccer program as the second head coach all-time for the Wolverines. The guys shared their takes on the hire, what they think the learning curve will be like for Beckerman and what to expect from UVU moving forward now. Audio from Beckerman's introductory press conference was the feature of the second segment of the podcast as he laid out his vision for his new gig leading the Wolverines and why he was so interested in pursuing the position after hanging up his boots as a player this past offseason. During U.S. Soccer’s ongoing celebration of Black History Month, Charlie and Jordan welcomed former USMNT defender/midfielder/forward DaMarcus Beasley to the Podcast. Reflecting on the month, Beasley first opened up on his own family history, learning that his own ancestors were slaves and the struggles his relatives went through for him to become the man he is today. The only U.S. man to play in four FIFA World Cups and one of 17 USMNT players to reach 100 caps, Beas went into depth about the U-17 USMNT side that finished fourth at the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Cup, and what the early days of Residency were like in Bradenton, Fla., alongside Landon Donovan, Oguchi Onyewu and Kyle Beckerman. After explaining how his start with the Chicago Fire prepped him for a long professional and international career, Beas went into his USMNT experience, from his first cap and first goal to talking about his journey through four FIFA World Cups and the many memories he made representing the United States. Beas wrapped up by discussing how he knew it was time to end his illustrious 19-year playing career, giving his views on more Black representation in coaching and club management, and his new project as Owner and Brand Ambassador for USL League Two side Fort Wayne FC.

Welcome back to another episode of the Third Sub Podcast!
