In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review episodes four through six of My Love Story with Yamada Kun at Lv999! In episode four, Runa, Eita's younger sister, is abrasive and rude toward Akane at the Forest of Savior guild meetup. After parting ways, Runa personally reaches out to Akane, seemingly to extend an olive branch, and makes plans with her for that upcoming Saturday. In episode five, Runa fails to show up to a restaurant to spend time with Akane, but instead sends a Rurihime superfan to go in her stead, all the while convincing that superfan that Akane was Rurihime. This results in this middle-aged man coming on very strong, and Akane attempting to escape, but he goes so far as to follow her into the bathroom. Eventually, Yamada figures out what was going on, and he, Eita, Runa, and Mr. Kamota all go to rescue Akane from the situation. In episode six, Akane's computer suddenly short circuits, preventing her from gaming. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika, Giana, and cosplayer Jahara Jayde review episodes one through three of My Love Story with Yamada Kun at Lv999! In episode one, Akane is dumped by her cheating boyfriend, and fluctuates through stages of grief. At an in-person event for a game her ex-boyfriend, Takuma, introduced her to, Akane bribes an attractive guy to pretend to be her boyfriend in front of Takuma and his new lady. This attractive guy turns out to be a locally famous professional gamer, Yamada. In episode two, Akane wakes up at Yamada's apartment after getting too drunk the night before, and worries that something happened between them. At home, Akane realizes she lost her necklace at Yamada's place. In episode three, Akane learns she's been frustrating her guild members by placing low level gear inside their shared storage, and doesn't log into Forest of Savior for several days. Today on Too Opinionated, we chat with actress Abby Trott!  After getting her start in voiceover while living in Japan, Trott has made a name for herself in the anime genre. She is perhaps best known as the English dub voice of the female lead Nezuko Kamado in the wildly popular series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. After her family is murdered by the demon Muzan Kibutsuji and Nezuko is turned into a demon herself, her only surviving brother Tanjiro sets off on a mission to turn his sister back into a human. Throughout the journey, Nezuko's incredible strength and resilience becomes clear as she is able to resist the temptation of human blood and step out into the sunlight. Her special abilities draw the attention of Muzan, who is determined to get Nezuko and acquire her unique power for himself. The series is streaming now on Hulu, Netflix and Crunchyroll. In addition, she reprised her fan-favorite role in the box office hit film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Mugen Train, which is available now on Crunchyroll.  Trott can also be heard as the lead in the popular Netflix series DanDaDan. She voices Momo Ayase, a no-nonsense high schooler who meets Ken Takakura, another student at her school who is obsessed with the occult and aliens. They challenge each others' beliefs, and in the process they encounter both ghosts and aliens, awakening Momo's psychic powers and getting Ken (now nicknamed Okarun) possessed in the process which leads to some ridiculous paranormal encounters. Season 2 is set to premiere in July 2025. This week is not just Ash Wednesday, it's not just Valentine's Day, it's also the100th episode of the Happy, Holy Mama Podcast, AND February 14th is also the 20th anniversary of the passing of my first husband, Joey. It is a FULL week! So as I was reflecting what I should talk about on the podcast this week, it seemed super obvious to me to share more of my love story with the Lord. And like most love stories, it's not all lovely. It's not all roses. It's not all happiness. There is pain and loss and suffering on the journey, probably not unlike your own story.  But there is also tremendous joy and growth through it all. So this week I am inviting you to join me as I reflect on the goodness and faithfulness of God that can be found through pain and loss when you learn how to unite your will with His Holy Will. What better way to head into Lent? Especially if you've struggled with this season in the past. As always I end the podcast with questions to help you reflect on how to engage more with God's Holy Will for yourself, to go deeper with the Lord, and make significant shifts in your own life, especially in regards to areas of your past that need some healing love. My fervent prayer today is that you walk away from this episode feeling more capable of offering a heartfelt, "Blessed Be God" in the midst of pain and adversity. Which, lets face it, might be what homeschooling feels like on this Monday morning in February. Tina Turner war schon in den 60ern ein Star – in den 70ern dagegen sank ihr Stern. Mit "Private Dancer" gelang ihr jedoch Mitte der 80er eines der größten Comebacks der Musikgeschichte. Mit Titeln wie "Let's Stay Together" oder "What's Love Got to Do with It" wurde sie weltberühmt. Als "Private Dancer" von Tina Turner im Mai 1984 herauskam war eigentlich klar: das wird ein echtes Comeback. Zwei Singles "Let's Stay Together" und "What's Love Got to Do with It" waren bereits vorher erschienen und erfolgreich. Doch das es das erstaunlichste und nachhaltigste Comeback der Musikgeschichte werden würde, konnte damals niemand ahnen. Comeback der Queen of Rock Die erste Single "Let's Stay Together" wurde schon 1983 veröffentlicht, also lange vor dem Album selbst. Dabei handelte es sich um eine Cover-Version von Al Queen. Es wurde Turners erster Chart-Erfolg nach der Trennung von ihrem damaligen gewalttätigen Ehemann Ike Turner. Damals gab es zwischen den beiden diverse Rechtsstreitigkeiten, auch um den Namen "Tina Turner", denn Ike hatte sich die Rechte an diesem eintragen lassen. Sie selbst hieß gebürtig Anna Mae Bullock. Letztlich gewann sie den Streit jedoch. Nach der Trennung von Ike, haben ihr die britische Musikszene und große britische Musiker den Rücken gestärkt, indem sie ihre kleinen Club-Konzerte besuchten. Unter den Musikern fanden sich beispielsweise David Bowie oder auch Mick Jagger. Durch diesen Rückhalt kam ihre Karriere wieder ins Rollen und sie traf auf ihren neuen Manager Roger Davis, mit dem die Nummer "Let's Stay Together" enstand. One Take Wonder In ihrer Autobiografie "Tina Turner, My Love Story" hat sie geschrieben: "Wenn ich ein Lied das erste Mal höre, singe ich so lange mit, bis ich den Dreh raus habe. So hatte ich es schon als Kind mit den Titeln aus dem Radio gemacht. Sobald ich einen Song verinnerlicht habe, fühlt er sich an, als würde er mir gehören und ich bin bereit für eine Aufzeichnung. Ich gehe ins Studio, stelle mich ans Mikrofon und erledige die Sache. Ich will den Song komplett einsingen, von vorne bis hinten, weil ich eine Geschichte erzähle. Und die hat einen Anfang, einen Mittelteil und einen Schluss." Sie hat "Let's Play Together" tatsächlich in einem Take eingesungen und aufgenommen und wurde dann auch im Studio das “One Take Wonder” genannt", so Heinius. Dazu gehört eine Menge Disziplin und harte Arbeit.  Tina Turner hat sich zwar darauf spezialisiert Songs von anderen zu ihren zu machen — einen einzigen Song hat sie jedoch selbst geschrieben, der auch ein ganz großer wurde: "Nutbush City Limits". Sex ohne Liebe — "What's Love Got to Do with It" "What's Love Got to Do with It" kam kurz vor dem Album "Private Dancer" als Single heraus, wurde gleich Tina Turners erste Solo-Nummer und gilt als einer der besten Songs aller Zeiten. "What's Love Got to Do with It" wurde mehrfach mit einem Grammy ausgezeichnet und auch das Video hat den MTV Video-Award gewonnen, obwohl Tina Turner den Song anfangs gar nicht singen wollte.   Da musste vor allem ihr Manager Davies große Überzeugungsarbeit leisten. Doch er blieb hartnäckig und schickte sie zum Proben zu den Autoren des Songs. Dort gefiel er ihr schon besser und sie ließ sich schließlich auf die Aufnahme ein. Interessanterweise steht genau dieser Song heute wie kein anderer für sie, weshalb er auch der Titel ihres Biopics, der Verfilmung ihres Lebens, wurde.   Turner trifft ihre große Liebe   Ende der 80er in Köln am Flughafen trifft sie den deutschen Musik-Manager Erwin Bach das allererste Mal. Er ist zu dem Zeitpunkt bei ihrer europäischen Plattenfirma angestellt und holt sie ab, um sie ins Hotel zu bringen — der Beginn einer großen Liebe. Tina Turner und die Dire Straits Ursprünglich war die Nummer "Private Dancer" für das "Love Over Gold"-Album von den Dire Straits geplant. Während der Demo-Aufnahme für den Song merkte Mark Knopfler, dass es nicht zu ihnen passt und gab ihn an Turner weiter. Ein kleiner Teil von "Private Dancer" hat es dennoch auf das Dire Straits-Album geschafft... Welcher das ist, erfahren sie im Podcast. Im Song "Private Dancer" geht Tina Turner ganz tief in die Emotionen rein. In ihrer Autobiografie hat sie dazu geschrieben: "Während des Einsingens habe ich daran gedacht, wieso ich eigentlich immer nachgegeben hat? Wieso ich geschwiegen hatte, um einen Streit zu vermeiden. Wie ich blieb, obwohl ich mich danach sehnte zu gehen? All das ging mir beim Singen durch den Kopf. Es ging mir bei dem Song um die Trauer, die uns begleitet, wenn wir etwas tun müssen, was wir nicht wollen und das jeden Tag. Es ging mir um Gefühle, die ganz tief gehen". Und diese tiefen wunderbaren Emotionen hat sie uns für immer hinterlassen... Abschied von einer Ikone Anmerkung der Redaktion: Am 24. Mai 2023 ist Tina Turner gestorben. Das hat uns und viele Menschen weltweit zutiefst bewegt. Mit der Wiederholung dieses Meilensteine-Klassikers möchten wir ihr Leben und Werk erneut würdigen.
