Ep 337 of RevolutionZ displays connections between Netanyahu's vicious brutality and Trump's cruel authoritarianism. It examines the psychological mechanisms that enable or oppose both by discussing the need to maintain humanity while confronting inhumanity. "Can we hate the acts yet somehow recognize that those involved are people like us?" From snipers targeting children in Gaza to the creeping normalization of fascist cruelty in America, we witness power that "corrupts, coerces, incarcerates, kidnaps and, increasingly, murders." Yet resistance movements continue to grow to put "steadily growing pressure on elites of all kinds."The episode dissects the three phony rationales that prop up both Trumpism and Netanyahu's policies: protect "meritocracy," promote "efficiency," and fight "anti-Semitism." Each concept has been grotesquely perverted to justify oppression. Under the accompanying twisted logic, "merit" comes to mean conformity to power, "efficiency" comes to mean advancing elite interests regardless of human cost, and "anti-Semitism" is weaponized against critics of Zionism while actual Nazi sympathizers receive embraces. The real agenda—to establish one-man rule and enhance profit and power of the already rich and powerful—stands nakedly visible for anyone willing to see. This episode also warns of the confusion many will experience when Trump claims victories and occasionally even implements policies with positive elements. The challenge will be to recognize that even as some battles appear to end, the war against fascism must continue. The episode argues that we all need to join the growing resistance—because Trump's and Netanyahu's only real strength is our submission.Support the show

How do we make sense of the turbulence and upheavals shaking our world today? Just glance at the stock market — a mirror of our times, swinging wildly with volatility, reflecting trade wars, tariffs, and global conflicts from Gaza to Ukraine. President Trump, in many ways, personifies this era of disruption. But disruption is not inherently negative. The question is: how do we understand it?Because one thing is certain — unpredictability unnerves us. Human beings crave stability. And yet, here we are, waking up each morning to an uncertain reality, bombarded by events we could never have anticipated.Still, everything has a deeper story. Please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson as we explore, through the prism of Passover, the deeper meaning behind today's turmoils — the unrest in Israel, Trump, and the larger currents reshaping our lives. What lies beneath the chaos? And what does it ask of us?
Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman joins host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode. Following a phone meeting of the security cabinet, Berman discusses that Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar was involved in the conversation that included Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite efforts to fire the Shin Bet chief. Hamas officials have said they will not accept any partial deals and still demand an end to the war, with some of the terrorist group's reactions appearing to react to protests in Israeli society, says Berman. He also speaks about criticism regarding top hostage negotiator Ron Dermer, with remarks from both the Qataris and hostage families about Dermer, a close advisor to Netanyahu. With the latest headlines about ongoing talks between Iran and the US, Berman expresses concern about Israel's position. He discusses chief negotiator Steve Witkoff, who doesn't have much background in Iran or the nuclear program but has Trump's ear and is a skilled negotiator. Berman notes that Netanyahu can't undermine Trump in this potential Iran deal, but the final result may not be as good for Israel. Please check out The Times of Israel's ongoing live blog for more updates. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman joins host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode. Berman discusses Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's trip to Hungary, followed by his unexpected stop in the US. Netanyahu was welcomed warmly by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. A call between Orban, Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump during the visit led the Israeli prime minister to accept the last-minute invite to head to the US for a meeting in the Oval Office. Berman says Trump surprised Netanyahu with several statements, including his announcement about high-level talks this Saturday between US and Iran, the existing tariffs on Israel and unexpectedly effusive comments and praise from Trump for Turkey's Erdogan. The matter of the 59 remaining hostages in Gaza did not dominate the conversation, although it was discussed, says Berman. Please see today's ongoing liveblog for more updates. We reveal how Ireland - the most anti-semitic country in europe that built its economy on American investment and stealing “American jobs”- is losing its relevance in a pro-Israel Trump white House. And not a moment too soon. I wrote about the end of Irish America here or you can listen to it on the podcast here. And speaking of anti-semitism the Irish National Theater rejected Jewish voices on their stage for not aligning with their values. However as the Bibas children's bodies were returned from Gaza the Irish National Theatre somehow thought it was a good time to celebrate a Palestinian poet on their stage. Today we show them with their keffiyehs flying. And eventually The New York Times has started to tell the truth about the horrors behind closed doors of Planned Parenthood. There have been horrific abortion "failures" and rushed treatments that prioritize making money over getting informed consent from vulnerable people who could be illiterate non-English speakers. Sounds like the Kermit Gosnell story that we documented in our New York Times best seller. And you won't believe how much tax payers' money they receive and what they do with the money (it doesn't go to help patients). The saddest news we cover this week is the truth about what really happened to Shiri Bibas and her precious children, after being taken hostage on October 7. We bring one of the most moving pieces written about their story. It will bring you to tears. It will also make you look differently at every toddler and young child you see.

Can a man without an official portfolio inflict an enduring defeat on a President-elect not yet in power? That would be the case – unless Donald Trump promptly repudiates a disastrous deal engineered by a special Mideast envoy-designee that would effectively force Israel to lose its war with Hamas. Follow me: A rich investor-turned-amateur diplomat named Steven Witkoff invoked the authority of the pro-Israel Trump to coerce Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to agree to a ceasefire with the terrorist group Hamas crafted by the virulently anti-Israel Biden administration. Hamas is currently holding out for even more unacceptable concessions than the virtually complete capitulation Witkoff and Company dictated to Bibi. It is in the vital interests of President Trump and his incipient presidency 2.0, America and Israel that this moment be seized for the latest, hapless “Apprentice” to be told, “You're Fired!” This is Frank Gaffney.

Welcome to this week's Wealth Wednesday, where we tackle the latest and most significant news in American politics: Donald Trump has been re-elected as President of the United States, making history as only the second president to win two nonconsecutive terms. This election has changed the political landscape, with Republicans now holding control of the Senate and likely securing the House. In this episode, we're digging into the major shifts this election brings, especially for the Latino community, the economy, and the social policies that may shape America's future. What This Means for America and the Latino Vote One of the biggest takeaways from this election is the Latino voter swing towards Trump. Nationally, Trump won 45% of Latino voters, a significant increase from the 32% he secured in 2020. We discuss what motivated this shift and how it reflects key issues such as inflation, housing, and the economy. Latino voters, who face unique challenges in today's economy, expressed concern over high rent, groceries, and credit card debt—issues Trump highlighted, helping him gain traction among this demographic. The Trump Agenda: What to Expect Over the Next Four Years As we look toward Trump's second term, his administration has outlined significant policies on major topics, including tariffs, immigration, and national security. Here's what we dive into in this episode: Economic Priorities and Tariffs: Trump plans to impose tariffs on all imports to boost American manufacturing. This includes a 10-20% tariff on all imported goods, with a 60% rate on goods from China. We discuss how this could impact consumer prices, businesses, and job opportunities in the U.S. Immigration and Border Security: Trump is set to implement extensive measures on immigration, including large-scale deportations, increased border security, and potential military spending on border infrastructure. We'll explore what this means for immigration policies and communities across America, especially those in border states. International Relations with Ukraine and Israel: Trump has vocalized his expectations for a resolution to the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine by working with global leaders. What will this mean for U.S. foreign policy, and how might it affect American families and interests abroad? Housing and Cost of Living: With high inflation impacting the housing market, Trump's administration aims to deregulate the industry to help builders increase the housing supply. This could have lasting impacts on home affordability—an issue affecting millions of Americans. Healthcare and Vaccine Skepticism: Trump has proposed giving vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a major role in his health administration. We look at how this shift might impact healthcare policies and public health initiatives. How We Can Prepare and Thrive In light of these changes, we emphasize the importance of staying informed and adaptable. We talk about how to position ourselves to take advantage of opportunities, navigate economic shifts, and support our families in this new political environment. We also explore mindset strategies—how focusing on solutions rather than limitations can help us find opportunities even in times of uncertainty. This episode is all about keeping a clear perspective and making the most of what's ahead. Whether it's identifying beneficial policies or rethinking financial priorities, we're here to empower our community to make informed decisions in the face of change. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Israel's continuing attacks on Hezbollah suggest that the Netanyahu government has reached an unavoidable conclusion: There's a narrow – and rapidly closing window – in which the Jewish State can act decisively to defeat her enemies and ours. That's because, whichever way the U.S. presidential election campaign comes out, the abandonment and subversion of Israel by the Biden-Harris administration is certain to be greatly intensified. Obviously, if Kamala Harris loses, the prospect of the restoration of a pro-Israel Trump presidency will prompt the outgoing regime to want to change “the facts on the ground” as much as possible. And if Harris wins, she will want Biden's lame-duck team to be responsible for doing that – including perhaps recognizing a Palestinian state – before she takes office. American interests require Benjamin Netanyahu to seize the day. God speed, Bibi, and to you and Israel. This is Frank Gaffney.

It's Casual Friday! Emma speaks with Jeet Heer, national affairs correspondent for The Nation, to round up the week in news. Emma runs through updates on the Harris/Walz CNN interview, Israel's continuing war crimes, presidential debate protocol, swing state polling, mortgage rates, Trump's absurd IVF pivot, RFK's candidacy, Florida's death penalty, and the death of Johnny Gaudreau. Jeet Heer then joins, as he and Emma parse through some high(and low)lights from Dana Bash's interview of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, walking through her representation of her commitment to a progressive domestic agenda – including a better defense of ‘Bidenomics' than the Biden team has ever offered – while still presenting herself as something “new,” and parsing through her steadfast rhetoric toward continuing support for Israel and their genocide. Expanding on this latter point, Heer unpacks Biden's approach to the genocide in the wake of dropping out of the 2024 election, from his continued commitment to the Abraham Accords to some inklings of sandbagging a future withdrawal of support, before touching on the role Iran is playing in the region and the future of US Foreign Policy. Next, Jeet and Emma look at another VP trying to clean up their President's mess, watching JD Vance perfectly show why he's been called (by Jeet, in this very interview) “the worst VP pick since Aaron Burr” in his response to Trump's recent comments criticizing Florida's abortion ban. And in the Fun Half: Emma watches IUPAT uplift support for a ceasefire and Mehdi Hasan's devastating conversation with UNRWA chief Felipe Lazarini. The MR Team unpacks some unhinged IMs, Trump explores who's really the WOAT president, and JD Vance responds to Trump's Arlington Cemetery fiasco by… further degrading military personnel. An Andrew Callaghan interview absolutely nails pain and insecurity in the US, plus, your calls and IMs! In this episode, we'll wrap up our mini series on Israel: Yes, God still loves Israel. We'll look at Romans 9-11 and how we can both challenge the state of Israel today and yet still believe God has a place of honor for his people. And then we'll get political and ponder the Christian's relationship to Donald Trump and how our understanding of the kingdom of God ought to impact that relationship. I'm taking a break for the summer and wanted the chance to speak about this election year before things really start to heat up. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/unbinding-the-bible/support

Dr. David Grantham (2:54)- After Iran's direct attack on Israel, Speaker Mike Johnson says the House will bring a bill to aid Israel and stated the importance of keeping strong ties with our allies. Ryan Helfenbein (11:03, 18:44) - Israel has been an ally of America since 1949. They have remained our most reliable partner in the Middle East in that time. Now younger voters, Millennials and Gen-Z alike believe it's time to be more pro-America than pro-Israel. David Frei (29:28, 35:58) - Trump was on trial today for reimbursements made to former lawyer Michael Cohen who made hush money payments to Stormy Daniels to stop her from speaking publicly before the election in 2016. Legal experts from both parties call this case bogus, so why has this been brought to trial?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma speak with Jeet Heer, national affairs correspondent for The Nation, to round up the week in news. And then, they're joined by Matthew Film Guy! First, Sam and Emma run through updates on Trump's Georgia case, Menendez's legal woes, Gaetz's Subpoena, Russian elections, Donald Trump, and objections from big tech over labor laws, also parsing through some of the major seats up for grabs in the House and Senate come November. Jeet Heer then joins, as he helps Sam and Emma parse through Sen. Schumer's recent call for new Israeli elections alongside a two-state solution, looking at it in the context of the “uncommitted” movement as a (rather weak) attempt to stay the pressure from the left ahead of the election, despite the genocide raging on. Jeet, Sam, and Emma expand on the electoral conversation, discussing RFK's ballot access problem and VP PR stunt, and the Democrats' continuing failure to mobilize voters for Biden, before wrapping up by assessing Biden's dwindling polling numbers and the absolute absurdity of his new TikTok ban. Matthew Film Guy also joins, tackling his Oscar re-previews, and offering up his suggestion of what to watch this week –– Kiarostami's “Like Someone in Love.” And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma discuss Bernie's 32-hour workweek bill with some help from Shawn Fain, Tim Scott and Tulsi Gabbard do their best Trump Administration auditions. The MR Crew tackles the likelihood of a Kristi Noam VP, Dave Rubin and Greg Gutfeld celebrating fascism in their own, unique ways, and Ben Shapiro wanting to make you work (and you better be happy about it!).
