Send us a textMikaela Mayer's masterclass performance against Sandy Ryan left us in awe of her boxing excellence. After a controversial first bout ended in a split decision, Mayer removed all doubt in the rematch with flawless technique, perfect counter-punching, and a complete game plan that neutralized Ryan from the opening bell. The fight evolved beyond anything we expected – while Ryan showed heart and occasional flashes of power, she simply couldn't match Mayer's brilliance. By the mid-rounds, Mayer's dominance was undeniable, forcing Ryan into increasingly desperate tactics in the final round when it became clear she needed a knockout to win. What stood out most was Mayer's versatility, fighting effectively whether moving forward or countering off the back foot.We also dive into Sebastian Fundora's impressive return to action. The "Towering Inferno" defended his 154-pound titles with a spectacular fourth-round knockout of Cardell Booker. At 6'5", Fundora isn't just a novelty act – he's officially the tallest world champion across all weight classes and brings legitimate skills and excitement every time he steps into the ring. The William Zapata versus Tevin Farmer contest delivered unexpected thrills, with Farmer showing tremendous heart while absorbing punishment that had his corner begging him to take a knee. Yet somehow, he weathered the storm and found moments of success in a fight that embodied everything we love about boxing – skill, heart, and the unpredictable nature of combat sports.Looking ahead, we preview an action-packed upcoming weekend featuring Tim Tszyu fighting in Australia, Richard Torrez facing Guido Vianello in a compelling heavyweight clash, and Janibek Alimkhanuly defending his middleweight belts. Boxing's heating up and we're here for it all!Have you watched Mayer vs Ryan 2 yet? If not, make it your priority this week – it's the kind of performance that reminds us why we love this sport so much.As always, the boys break down all of the boxing... with a sense of humor.
It was a mellow week of boxing, topped by a Top Rank card with Mikaela Mayer defeating Sandy Ryan, again. Brian Norman Jr made his first title defense of his WBO welterweight title, and Bruce Carrington looks to be moving toward a title shot. On DAZN, William Zepeda defeated Tevin in their rematch on a Golden Boy Promotions card. Also, Oscar Collazo stopped Edwin Cano, Joselito Velazquez was involved in a fight that was too much fun, Robin Safar made his debut with Golden Boy Promotions, and Yokasta Valle defeated Marlen Esparza. Could Valle fight Gabriela Fundora? In this episode, we recap three weeks' of fights....We had a series of fights. Let's start with Shakur Stevenson's win over Artem Harutyunyan in a fight many believe could be his last fight with Top Rank. Keyshawn Davis had an ugly fight with Miguel Madueno, and Abdullah Mason announced himself to the world stopping Luis Lebron.William Zepeda defeated Giovanni Cabrera, stopping him in three rounds. Ricardo Sandoval stopped Angel 'Tito' Acosta, the stoppage was awful. Fanmio had an MMA inspired card that saw Nate Diaz beat Jorge Masvidal. Shane Mosley Jr defeated Daniel Jacobs in what could be Jacobs' last fight as a pro, and Amado Vargas stopped Sean Garcia, the brother of Ryan Garcia. That will include Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez stopping Juan Francisco Estrada, and becoming a star. Sunny Edwards defeating Adrian Curiel, but still we have yet to see 'the vintage performance', Yamileth Mercado defends her title against Ramla Ali The emergence of WBO featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza as a capital G Guy. Troy Isley huge win over amateur rival Javier Martinez, Andres Cortes odd fight with Abraham Nova, and once promising middleweight contender Felix Cash lost to Tyler Denny. This week's fight schedule is....The big fight of the week is Jaron 'Boots' Ennis' homecoming against late-sub David Avanesyan. Other notable fights on this card, Jalil Hackett versus Pete Dobson, Henry Lebron vs Christopher Diaz, and Khalil Coe vs. Manuel Gallegos. Christian Carto, a Philly prospect from seven years ago, who was knocked out on a club show is featured on this card as well.Janibek Alimkhanuly vs Andrei Mikhailovich, Raymond Muratalla vs. Tevin Farmer is a solid hardcore fight-fan card. Other notables on the undercard include Charlie Sheehy, Ruben Villa, and Art Barrera Jr. (Friday, ESPN+)Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez will fight Rober Barrera in his bantamweight debut. (Friday, ESPN+)Katsuma Akitsugi vs Jesus Ramirez will fight on ProBox TV along with Nicklaus Flaz, and Najee Lopez (Wednesday, ProBox TV)Timestamps0:00 O'Shaquie Foster 16:50 Shakur Stevenson 23:50 Keyshawn Davis 33:40 Abdullah Mason40:10 William Zepeda 50:53 Ricardo Sandoval58:31 Nate Diaz 01:10:23 Jesse ‘Bam' Rodriguez 01:17:54 Teofimo Lopez 01:23:30 Rafael Espinoza 01:24:50 Jaron Ennis 01:29:40 Jalil Hackett vs Pete Dobson 01:32:00 Khalil Coe 01:38:00 Janibek 01:43:00 Raymond Muratalla vs Tevin Farmer
