Andrew started his career in 1997 as an independent web developer, creating websites and developing flash demos, a custom content management system, and corporate websites. In 2006, after graduating from UC Berkeley, he and a friend co-founded Mixbook, an online design tool for creating photo books, cards, calendars, and wall art. What's interesting about Andrew's story is that, after 17 years at the helm, he recognizes that what he is building is much more than a technology product to help people organize their photos. In 2017, Heche hosted a weekly radio show on SiriusXM with Jason Ellis entitled Love and Heche. The couple started dating in 1997, and at one point, said they would get a civil union if such became legal in Vermont. They broke up in August 2000. In 2000, Heche reportedly left DeGeneres for Coleman "Coley" Laffoon, a cameraman whom she met the previous year on DeGeneres's stand-up comedy tour. On September 1, 2001, she and Laffoon married. They had a son in March 2002. Laffoon filed for divorce on February 2, 2007, after five and a half years of marriage. The divorce was finalized on March 4, 2009. Family and friends of longtime guitarist Van McLain are coming together to aid in his recovery from complications after contacting the WEST NILE VIRUS in 2015. The goal of the fundraiser and silent auction benefitting Van McLain is to step in where his insurance is no longer covering the costs to continue rehabilitating him with occupational and physical therapy to a point where he can walk again. In August of 2015 – Van experienced “flu-like” symptoms that got increasingly worse throughout the week After experiencing slurred speech and a rash, Onnie drove Van to the emergency room where he began to show severe symptoms. They did a lumbar puncture and the results were meningitis. He was taken to ICU and it was discovered he also had encephalitis. They kept him comfortable. Then his blood work finally came back after 7 days from being tested at several labs confirming a bizarre diagnosis- WEST NILE VIRUS. He was having trouble breathing so they intubated him, but after 10 days a decision was made to place a trachea tube and then a feeding tube. At this point he was in and out consciousness. He remained in ICU until the end of September then went to a long term acute hospital. Van remained in several hospitals with pneumonia more times that can be remembered, pulmonary problems, difficulty breathing, many tests and procedures. After a year of treatments for the West Nile Virus, Van began to move past the initial virus stage, BUT – the virus had weakened him. He had his trachea tube removed March 2017 but continues to have respiratory problems and pulmonary issues that resulted from his condition. Van is now at a point where he needs intense therapy, transportation and high-tech equipment so he can get stronger like we have been told he can! Now his family and friends are working together to help raise funds so he can rehabilitate his motor skills and strengthening issues. After over two years of trying to recover, he is now at a point where rehab can help him walk again. Jon Laffoon is the principal of Pea Ridge High School in Arkansas, where they are using a dynamic schedule called the flex mod schedule to allow time to serve students, rather than students serving time. It is pretty remarkable and impressive. Save $10,000 on paper because of 1:1 Don’t hire substitutes Expectation is that teachers post everything to Google Classroom when they are absent. Subs are just babysitters Time serving students rather than students serving time. Redesign cafeteria to make it a modern space like a starbucks. Students skipping a class still happens, but it has not increased, though the way to work with kids has helped.
