When the official interview ended, the tape kept rolling! Welcome to a special bonus episode of the NHL '94 Podcast. Host Len the Lengend brings you an exclusive, unfiltered behind-the-scenes conversation with SNES community staple Oilers442 that was just too good to leave on the cutting room floor. In this deep, casual chat, we pull back the curtain on high-level competitive strategies, covering everything from specific division-winning roster line-ups to the breaking news rocking the modding scene. What we tackle in this bonus cut:• Breaking the Genesis Mentality: How dropping the constant hunt for one-timers and switching to a heavy-hitting, patient "deke-first" style led Len to capture an SNES Classic C-Division title using the New Jersey Devils.• The Blue Line Tanks: Why slow, heavy-checking players like Slava Fetisov and Scott Stevens are secretly beginner-friendly brick walls on Super Nintendo.• The Pittsburgh Bias: Oilers442 opens up about his decades-long competitive hatred for the 200+ lb Penguins squad, why Mario Lemieux's super-team isn't the auto-win people think it is, and the reality of weight vs. speed.• To Sub or Not to Sub: Inside the strategic debate over benching Larry Murphy, and the historical reality of navigating the infamous Genesis Weight Bug.• The Holy Grail Restored: Our raw reactions to the newly released 2026 Genesis Fighting ROM, its mechanics compared to NHL '96, and a direct call to action for the community to launch an official competitive fighting league.Whether you're a die-hard Genesis fan or an SNES purist, pull up a chair for some pure, authentic 16-bit hockey talk.Want to jump into an active online league or find tournament details?Join the global community at https://www.kingof94.com and hang out on the forums at https://forum.nhl94.com._______________________________________________________Twitter / X - https://twitter.com/NHL94PodcastYouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@NHL94PodcastRumble - https://rumble.com/c/c-5524878Email - NHL94Pod@gmail.com
We exit the Championship in May for the second year running, while the minors bowed out to Cork after leading up until late. We were joined by Billy Byrne and Larry Murphy to discuss. Thanks to Enniscorthy Credit Union
On Talkin' Hockey, we're all about the long weekends, and so of course we're here today, albeit in pre-recorded form! We've talked about both the opponents that they faced in the finals during their back to back Cup runs, so today we're talkin' Penguins! The 1991-92 squad had a bit of a roller coaster season before settling in to take Lord Stanley for the second straight year. Their coach, the legendary "Badger" Bob Johnson had to step down in the off-season when he was diagnosed with cancer, and sadly he passed away in November of 1991. The team was sold, also in November, to a couple of fellas from the Minnesota North Stars ownership group that they had vanquished the year before - a guess if you can't beat 'em, you buy 'em! On the ice, it was the usual cast of characters - Lemieux, Stevens, Francis, Jagr, and Mullen, plus steady Tom Barrasso between the pipes and a blue line featuring Paul Coffey and newcomer Larry Murphy. Ol' Paul got shipped out in February shakeup alongside Mark Recchi that steadied the squad, adding toughness with Rick Tocchet and Kjell Samuelsson coming in. They finished strong and blew through the playoffs, sweeping the Blackhawks in the finals.Speaking of playoffs, we'll catch you up on the current goings on as 3 of our 4 semi-finalists are set, with a big game 7 between Montreal and Buffalo set to go as we exit the airwaves today. Colorado and Vegas carry on the proud Jagr tradition this year, as both Brett Kulak and Rasmus Andersson played with the mulleted magician meaning that this is year marks the 46th (!!!) straight that the finals will feature a former teammate of ol' #68.Finally, co-host Tom slips into Mats Sundin's silky Swedish slacks and we break down the myriad of questions facing the Maple Leafs this off season.

The tip-off that led the Garda to begin a major search for the bodies of Jo Jo Dullard and Deirdre Jacob is likely not new according to crime and security editor Conor Lally. The piece of land on the border of counties Wicklow and Kildare has been in the Garda's sights for many years but since the disappearance of the young women, missing since the 1990s, are now considered murders, ongoing reviews of the files bring new leads and new thinking on the investigation.News on Monday that gardaí had begun an extensive dig on the land was accompanied by mention of Dullard and Jacob leading to speculation that it had been determined that both young women were the victims of the same murderer. Not so, says Lally, who notes that gardaí suspect Jacob, who disappeared in broad daylight, was killed by convicted rapist Larry Murphy, while Dullard was killed by an unknown male who gave her a lift as she tried to get home.Lally analyses this new phase in the investigation.Presented by Bernice Harrison. Produced by Suzanne Brennan. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

People weren't aware that there was a history that could define what's in the glass in front of them. By meshing those two together, the awareness drove itself and it has allowed people to talk about the product saying, ‘I don't like gin, but I like this Jigger and Jones stuff.'” – Matthew Murphy, President, Director of Operations and Co-founder of The Devil's Half Acre Distillery.
