New episode out now! We spent some time with the Belcher family and watched 2022's The Bob's Burgers Movie. We cover the dynamics of the Belchers and how Bob and Linda's relationship with each other and their children is so great, love the town they live in and how it is full of a community of weirdos who support each other, think that the children feel like real kids and they also make great detectives, and really enjoy the voice talent. We loved that although it felt very like the show in how it included asides, daydreams, and fun musical numbers, it had an elevated quality, a more involved plot with a mystery, and still utilized hand drawn animation. Katy got scared watching Jaws by herself in the dark, Carrie has many tickets to the orchestra, Maddy did not find cars important as a baby, and Mack is a ground down 30-year-old. We talk about being grossed out by skeleton teeth falling IN YOUR MOUTH, delve into the complexities of fantasies and daydreams, decide yet again Carrie should never watch The Thing, and share our favorite childhood toys we still have kicking around. We also cover rich people, Kurt Russell's hotness, nice teenage boys, the reality of Stars Hollow, and spear guns. (Also we have confirmed Hornsley's birthday is March 31st). Enjoy!TW: Capitalism, misogyny, economic disparity, animal harm depicted in film

On today's episode I am coming to you LIVE from San Diego Comic-Con with Disney Animator and storyboard artist, Peter Paul Bautista!  I was so excited to have Peter Paul join us for this year's SDCC show. When I was first introduced to Peter Paul from Mike and JB at From North to Wharf we hit it off immediately chatting via social media and I knew he would be a lot of fun to talk to on the show about the incredible animation career he's built working on some incredible movies and tv shows.  I talked with Peter Paul about how he got his start in animation, losing a graphic design job at an engineering & oil company and stumbling into animation from there. Finding his first animation job as an inbetween artist on Space Jam, working on Clerks: The Animated Series and having no idea who Kevin Smith was, working on Mission Hill, finding his next job on The Tigger Movie, staring to work on movies and shows with Bento Box, such as the Bob's Burgers Movie and Krapopolis, and so much more! A huge Thank You to Peter Paul Bautista for taking the time to join us in San Diego for the show! It was so much fun getting to know Peter Paul during this episode. Also a Thank You to his friend Rachel who snapped some photos for us during the show. A big thank you to Mike and JB of From North to Wharf for helping connect me with Peter Paul. Please make sure to follow Peter Paul on all of the links below. Thank you to the staff at San Diego Comic-Con for always being so amazing to us. And especially Thank you to the Unofficial San Diego Comic-Con blog for the continual support and spreading the word about the show. We are always so grateful for you! Thank you everybody who came out and joined us for this show.  Thank You, Peter Paul! Enjoy the episode.

Happy Wine Wednesday, y'all! It's our final episode on She-Hulk - for now - and it's bittersweet. This show has been such a fun time and I will really miss it. However, I can't think of a better way to close out our coverage than being joined by Candi and new guest to the pod - Andre! As always, we kick off our discussion by touching on the ongoing themes of the season and the exploration of them in the finale and the season as a whole.  First, we talk about the "big bads" of the season and the revelation of Todd as the Hulk King. We also revisit the return of Titania and whether or not we wanted to see Josh again after his devastating betrayal.  Next up - cameos! We talk about the chaotic Royal Rumble-like fight when everyone crashes the party like a series of Kool-Aid men.  And we give our closing thoughts on Emil's role throughout this season - we definitely had mixed feelings about that.  Much to our delight, Jessica Gao was not done with her exploration of toxic masculinity.  We discuss how that's explored in the finale and our thoughts about the writers addressing this issue over the course of Season 1. We wouldn't leave you without our thoughts on our favorite "at law" moments.  Following that, we talk about the general use of the secondary characters in Jennifer's world - we would've been really happy with more Nikki, Pug, and Mallory - here's hoping that they will have more involvement in the future. The episode closes with our wishlist for Season 2 and Andre survives his very first thirst segment by sharing his hopes for Jennifer's romantic prospects going forward. We have a brief spoiler segment after our sign off in which I ask Andre and Candi to weigh in on Bruce arriving in the finale with a son.  Thank you so much for joining us for this coverage - I hope you've had as much fun as we have.  I love you for listening.  Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time.Find and follow Candi on Twitter here.  You can find and support Andre here.Be sure to check out our prior episodes on  Thor: Love and Thunder, Shameless,  Community, House of the Dragon, Justified, The Bob's Burgers Movie,  Queer As Folk (2022), Fire Island, Looking, and many more here.  Support the showFollow the pod on IG and Twitter. Happy Wine Wednesday! Our coverage of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law continues this week with a discussion about episodes 7 and 8.  As always, we start with recurring themes across the first season and how they are explored in these episode.  This includes our thoughts on Emil's role this season, the use of cameos generally, Easter Eggs, and our favorite "at-law" moments.  We also revisit our thoughts about Luke's fashion design talents in this episode after seeing She-Hulk's official uniform for the first time and her gala dress.  Perhaps Luke isn't a nemesis after all?We had SO many thoughts about the Daredevil cameo.  We loved every second of it and we are fully invested in Matt/Jenn or Daredevil/She-Hulk - we're here for all of it.  Jessica Gao and her talented staff of writers are not relenting in their exploration of toxic masculinity and we share our appreciation for that.As always, we get thirsty with some fun prompts inspired by these episodes.  We share with whom from the MCU we would like to have an adversaries to lovers experience like Matt and Jennifer. We enjoyed Matt's walk of shame and share our choices among other MCU characters we wouldn't mind see doing a shoe-less walk of shame from Jennifer's apartment.  Our thirsty thoughts conclude with giving Jennifer some well deserved agency and choosing the MCU character with whom we would like to see her consensually create a sex tape. Josh is the worst!Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time!I love you for listening! Find and follow Candi on Twitter here. Happy Wine Wednesday! Our coverage of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law continues this week with a discussion about episodes 5 and 6.  We kick off our discussion with our thoughts on favorite Easter Eggs, best "at law" moments, the lack of cameos in these two episodes, and the use of the secondary characters thus far.  The lack of cameos meant more time for Titania, so we chat about whether we like the social media influencer as a nemesis for Jennifer/She-Hulk.  Perhaps Luke Jacobson is the true nemesis of the season because we were not feeling the so-called upgrade of Jennifer's wardrobe.  We were also overdue to discuss the show's fun closing credits, so we get into that as well.  We then get into episode specific thoughts.  I had a few thoughts about Pug's code switching in episode 5 and episode 6 really left us wanting more wins and less humiliation for Jennifer. The main discussion wraps  with our wishlist for the last 3 episodes of the season.  And we close out with a thirst segment inspired by episodes 5 and 6, including our best effort at coming up with a dating app tagline that rivals, "mean, green, and poured into these jeans."Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time!I love you for listening! Happy Wine Wednesday! Our coverage of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law continues this week with a discussion about episodes 3 and 4.  Candi and I continue to really love this show.  We kick off our chat by talking about themes and stylistic choices that the writers continue to develop in the series.  We talk about Jennifer continuing to break the fourth wall, addressing misogyny in Jennifer's life and the fandom, and using cameos of fan faves.  We were absolutely delighted about Wong's involvement in these episodes.  The show is called She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, so we talk about our favorite "at law" moments as well.  Candi didn't love the randomness of Titania in the show's pilot, so I thought episodes 3 and 4 provided a perfect opportunity for us to check-in on how the writers have been handling Jennifer's foes thus far.  We wrap up the main discussion by talking about our wish list for the next few episodes and then we get thirsty.  We talk about who we would like to meetup with on the Hollywood Hookup app, which MCU character we'd like to thirst trap like Nikki did Wong, and we revisit some Hulk smashing thoughts as well.  We have a very quick spoiler segment at the end so that Candi can share a few comic book tidbits.  Don't worry - you'll have plenty of advance warning.  Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time!I love you for listening! Happy Wine Wednesday! Matt of The Communies fan account joins me this week to talk about one of my absolute favorite shows and fandoms of all time - Community! Our conversation is part of the podcast's Boozy Beginnings AKA pilot project series in which we discuss the pilot episode of various tv shows.  Matt and I head over to Greendale and kick off our discussion with what drew us to Community, whether we we completed the series, and then the deep dive into the pilot. We start by talking about the pilot's introduction to two of the more memorable characters from the series - Craig Pelton and Greendale Community College.  From there, we talk about our initial impressions of Jeff Winger and other memorable introductions to the study group members.  We were both struck at how fully realized these characters clearly were from the very start. Y'all know I love a little lighthearted zodiac fun, so I asked Matt to identify his big three signs in the form of Community characters.  Although we were both huge fans of the episode, there were a few minor things we might do differently.  Related to that topic, I asked Matt to share what his version of Community would look like if he were in charge of a revival or reboot of the show.  No discussion of Community would be complete without talking "Six Seasons and a Movie" - so of course I asked what his Community movie would look like. The main discussion closes with our thoughts on why you should keep watching, our favorite fandom moments, and we get a little less than wholesome with some fun Community-inspired thirst prompts.  Matt graciously stuck around and discussed overall thoughts about the series in a spoiler segment following the main discussion. Thanks for listening! This week a new guest to the podcast, Jay Giles, joins me on a trip to Eastern Kentucky for the pilot episode of the FX series, Justified.  We kick off the discussion by sharing what drew us to Justified and whether we read  the source material written by Elmore Leonard.  We then get into a deep dive of the pilot - starting with the very memorable standoff between Raylan Givens and Tommy Bucks.  Justified premiered in 2010, which was a much different world in terms of social awareness around police brutality, so Jay and I discuss whether or not this opening standoff between Raylan and Tommy would fly in 2022.  Although Raylan was very confident in the justification of his actions towards Tommy, we discuss whether we agreed with him.Justified has a very memorable, catchy theme song so of course we share our thoughts about it and where it ranks among our favorite tv show theme songs.  We also talk about the choice to pair this hip-hop meets bluegrass song with this show featuring modern day cowboy Raylan.Next, we get share our thoughts on our introductions to Boyd and Ava.  Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins were without question the standout performances in the pilot, so we talk about which actor left us wanting to know more about their respective character by the end of the pilot. We give our elevator pitch as to why you should continue on with Justified if you have not watched the entire series.  We also briefly discuss the Justified revival currently in production and whether we plan to watch.  Spoiler alert - of course we do! We both loved Justified.  Jay is officially introduced to the podcast thirst segment.  He shares his thirsty picks from the pilot and also accepts my challenge to guest cast an actor/actress that he has a crush on that he would like to see in the Justified universe.  There's a brief spoiler discussion in the main discussion.  Thanks to podcast editor Daniel, you'll get an alert when that discussion begins and I've flagged it in the chapter markers.  The brief spoiler detour begins around 1:02:44 and ends around 108:16 - just in case chapter markers aren't supported wherever you listen.  After the main discussion concludes, Jay and I discuss our thoughts on the series as a whole.  As always, you'll get a heads up before that discussion begins.I love you for listening! Please find and follow Jay on social media at the following links: Jay's Personal Twitter, Jay's Movie Talk, the Keda N Jay show, and TVZone Podcast Network. You can give this pod a follow as well on IG and Twitter.  Send longer feedback to morewinepod@gmail.com. This week the crew is serving up a fresh new theme, Movies That Brought Us Back To The Theater! This week, Connor's ordered up 2022's The Bob's Burgers Movie! How well did this long-running cartoon series make its transition onto the big screen? Does it do a good job of reaching new audiences while satisfying die hard fans? And what makes Bobs Burgers a stand out series: the Belchers themselves, the ensemble cast of characters, the songs, or all of the above? Answers to these questions and more coming out pipin' hot this week!

For a podcast that talks about burgers so much, it's time we finally cover the one and only, "beef-tastic" burger movie itself! This week we are off to Wonder Wharf to catch up with the Belchers in their latest feature film debut, The Bob's Burgers Movie. It's up to the goofy family to do all they can to save the restaurant once a sinkhole opens up right in front of it. And like many other people on planet earth, I absolutely adore the Bob's Burgers TV series! It's such a random, ridiculous show that totally deserves to be featured on the big screen. Boasting some crazy musical scenes, the Belcher kids doing what they do best and, you guessed it, plenty of burgers, it really hones in on the true essence of the TV series. Can Bob and family save the restaurant, clear Mr. Fischoeder's name and toss out these bad reviewers like day old burger grease? Tune in to find out!       If you enjoyed the episode, please rate and share! It goes such a long way and I am so grateful for all of the support. And hey, if you do leave a review of the show, you will be featured as well! How neat is that? Also, be sure to give my official Ko-Fi page a gander. There you can get access to all kinds of cool perks and prizes from your very own shoutout on the show to choosing which movie I cover next.  Link down below!  You can also find me filling the world with more #BRBR insanity on Insta @billreadsbadreviews and Twitter @BRBR_Bill. Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi returns this week to discuss The Bob's Burgers's Movie.  Bob's Burgers is our favorite comfort show, so we were delighted when it was announced that the Belchers were coming to the big screen. You know I love discussing which characters we relate to from a show and there was no way I would pass on an opportunity to discuss which Belchers we see in ourselves.  We then touch on how the writers manage to acknowledge real life issues, such as the Belchers' financial struggles, while still creating a property that is both comforting and humorous.  Next, we get into whether there were any noticeable differences between the Belchers on film versus television. It wouldn't be Bob's Burgers if there were no musical numbers, so of course we share our favorite selections from the film.  Following that, we share our thoughts on the various arcs for each Belcher family member.  The secondary characters have become just as memorable as the Belchers, so we talk about which characters outside of the Belcher family we like most. It would be a little weird to share thirsty thoughts about animated characters, so this week's thirst segment has a little twist to it.As always, we love you for listening.  Find and follow Candi on Twitter here. You can give this pod a follow as well on IG and Twitter.  Longer feedback can be sent to morewinepod@gmail.com.Be sure to check out our prior episodes on Queer As Folk (2022), Fire Island, Looking, Empire, Minx, Sons of Anarchy,  Abbott Elementary, Grand Crew,  Claws, True Blood, Orphan Black,The Walking Dead, Teen Wolf,  Euphoria, and The Sopranos.  And check out our full series coverage of Pose and the very special Bob's Burgers episode all about Linda Belcher - our favorite wine mom.Support the show

There is so much to talk about this week that everything couldn't even fit into the title lol. First and foremost, Queen Bey is back!!! It's been 6 years since Beyoncé has come out with a solo studio album, and this weekend she released her seventh studio album "Renaissance" (1:38). We got the chance to catch up on quite a bit in the movie and TV worlds as well over the week. In the movie world we got a chance to checkout "DC League of Super-Pets" (19:05), the latest animated family adventure featuring the pets of our favorite DC superheroes, "Green Lantern: Beware My Power" (33:47) a new DC animated film starring John Stewart's Green Lantern, and "The Bob's Burgers Movie" (41:42), the feature film based off the tv show with the same name. So, a lot of animation. In the TV world, we have some premieres. The first 3 episodes of "Harley Quinn" (48:15) season 3 are now on HBO Max! After a 2 year hiatus due to the pandemic, it's time for some more Harley and Ivy shenanigans. Also a brand new show from Issa Rae, "Rap Sh!t" (55:46) premiered last week on HBO. Only the first 3 episode of the series are out so far, but what kind of tone does it set for the show? We also got the chance to checkout a couple of documentaries including "Milestone Generations"(1:05:31), about the making and ongoing legacy of Milestone comics, and "Light & Magic" (1:13:41), a docuseries about the history of the special and visual effects division of Lucasfilm. We also do a brief rundown of one of the biggest wrestling events of the year, WWE's "SummerSlam" (1:22:23). News of the Week (1:37:49) 2BlackNerds.com (Song: Cuff It x Beyoncé)
