The crew's back together after a week off, and it takes about five minutes before anyone actually mentions basketball. Bob's fresh off a trip to San Antonio (river walk, wine, a very serious debate about mashed potatoes), and once the guys settle in, they get to the real news. The big story is the Lakers sale, or more accurately, the Lakers sale that might not be happening. Jeanie Buss is reportedly refusing to hand over her remaining stake to Bob Iger's group, and the guys dig into why she's digging in, who could realistically help her buy out her siblings, and whether Vanessa Bryant factors into any of it. From there it's a full lap around the league. There's an update on where the Clippers salary cap investigation stands, Russell Westbrook calling it a career after 18 seasons, and a debate over which stars from the 2000s draft classes have the most left in the tank. Horry also gets something off his chest about the 2026 Hall of Fame class, and he's not shy about who he thinks got left out. The back half is schedule season. The guys break down the best revenge games on the 2026-27 slate, argue about whether Philly got handed a cupcake schedule, and run through the week's roster news, including Bradley Beal to the Clippers, jersey retirements for Kevin Garnett and Diana Taurasi, and Dennis Schroder quietly climbing the all-time journeyman list. Then it's game time. Bob pulls the fresh Forbes franchise valuations and puts Rob and Harp through a full round of guessing which team is worth more, running across the NBA, NFL and MLB, with a few results that catch everybody off guard. 00:00 Cold Open: Water Temps, Steak Orders & Asparagus Chaos 05:49 Lakers Ownership Drama: Jeanie Buss Won't Sell 09:20 Who Could Help Jeanie Buy Out Her Family? 15:29 Clippers Cap Case Update & Forbes Valuations Teased 20:48 Russell Westbrook Retires After 18 Seasons 24:02 Ranking the Last 2000s Stars Still Playing 26:09 Paul George's Health and Longevity 27:25 Horry Snubbed Again: Breaking Down the 2026 HOF Class 33:41 Reviving the Campaign to Get Horry In 35:51 2026 Schedule's Best Revenge Games 38:20 Is Philly's Schedule Too Easy This Year? 43:17 Quick Hits: Beal Signs, KG & Taurasi Retire, Schroder Traded 45:15 Big Shot of the Week: Teen's 3D-Printed Wheelchair 46:51 Buy My Team: Knicks-Clippers & Cowboys-Patriots 48:13 Buy My Team: Mets-Braves & Bulls-Heat 49:35 Buy My Team: Falcons-Panthers & Dodgers-Yankees 51:55 Buy My Team: Hawks-Cavs, Eagles-Giants & Rays-Marlins 55:33 Buy My Team: Chiefs-Ravens Finale 57:02 Wrap-Up: Football Season and Picks Are Coming Back

Some crazy storms last night…looking at more tomorrow night and Friday as well. Should be rather nice today with a high of 75° and some clouds in the forecast. In the news this morning, Tony Gonzales of Texas is resigning from the House after admitting to a sexual relationship with a staff member, actress Ruby Rose accuses Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her, Brian Hooker gets released from police custody after being questioned in the disappearance of his wife, and a Florida teen will be tried as an adult in the alleged rape & murder of his step-sister on a cruise ship. In sports, the Brewers start a three-game series against the Blue Jays tonight, Doc Rivers is officially out as the head coach of the Bucks, the NBA Play-In Tournament starts tonight, a recap of yesterday's WNBA Draft, and Jonathan Quick hangs up his skates. We talked about what's on TV today/tonight and what's new on New Release Tuesday. Plus, a new series from the creators of "Stranger Things". Elsewhere in sports, Dick Vitale announces he's got melanoma in his lung & liver cavity, the Baltimore Orioles manager takes a foul ball to the face, and the White Sox Pope hat is so popular…they had to expand it to everyone who bought a ticket for the game on August 11th. Cool story about a community that worked together to help a homeless guy find a place to live and a job to help him back on his feet. An interesting stat about the benefits of a digital detox. Took a look at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2026 that was announced on last night's episode of American Idol. Grant Bilse of the Wisco Sports Show joined us just after 8am to talk about all the recent sports happenings in the state of Wisconsin. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who punched his coworker in the face ONE MINUTE after clocking in for his shift, a burglary call that turned out to be a guy with explosive diarrhea, a guy who allegedly stole Honey Buns from inmates at the jail he worked at, a company that created an A.I. Jesus and is charging people $2 to talk to it, and Brian tells Jean about Cowboy Sway getting absolutely TRUCKED at a recent rodeo.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

February 6, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 90 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the annual NFL Honors awards that took place on Thursday night. We talk about the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class and how once again former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman L.C. Greenwood failed to get into Canton. With former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger becoming a candidate for the 2027 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, Alex and I discuss his chances of being a first-ballot selection as year from now. We also talk about how the late Craig Wolfley was left out of the annual NFL Honors' ‘in memoriam' tribute on Thursday night and how sad that was to see happen. Since our Wednesday show, we now know a few more hires that the Steelers are making for their new coaching staff. Because of that, Alex and I go over the news related to Joe Whitt Jr., Derius Swinton II, Pat Reilly, Shawn Howe, and Eric Simonelli reportedly being hired by new HC Mike McCarthy. Alex recently talked to former Steelers WR Demarcus Ayers about new Steelers wide receivers coach Adam Henry, so we go over the main talking points from that interview. There's now even more news concerning the 2025 in-game altercation that Steelers WR DK Metcalf had with a Detroit Lions fan that we pass along during this show. With Super Bowl LX taking place on Sunday, Alex and I preview the big game and give our straight-up picks for the contest as well as against the spread that is listed on MyBookie.ag, a longtime show sponsor. Alex and I also go through and pick several Super Bowl LX props related to the weekend betting action at hand. Will the Steelers play in the Super Bowl in the next five years? What about in the next ten years? Alex and I address those two questions later in this show. Alex and I also discuss and comment on whether each of us would trade all of the 12 perceived picks the Steelers seem set to ultimately have in the 2026 NFL Draft to move up to select Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza first overall. This 106-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap and we make sure to read and answer a few emails we have received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Rockets loss + Who will step up now Astros new acquisitions NFL award show results NFL HOF class of 2026
Mike Vrabel, not Mike Verbal, wins Coach of the Year at the NFL Awards last night as the Patriots get ready to play in the Super Bowl. Then the conversation shifts to next year's NFL class of first eligible hall of fame players. The voters have their hands full with guys with questionable pasts headlining the class such as Antonio Brown and Adrian Peterson.
Seth and Sean react to and assess who won NFL Honors awards and the Hall of Fame class, discuss what Nick Caserio had to say about what's going on with Joe Mixon, and go through the day's Headlines.
Seth and Sean kick off the show by reacting to Mike Verbal (Vrabel, we know it's Vrabel) winning Coach of the Year, some of the other NFL Honor award winners, and their thoughts on the Hall of Fame class.
Welcome to Episode 167 of Wrestling Tonight, a mini episode powered by G FUEL, Dick Lazers, and Code TAVERN. Use code TAVERN to save 20 percent at GFUEL.com and DickLazers.com. Acefield Retro breaks down the week in pro wrestling. We open with AEW Dynamite and a result that immediately changed the landscape at the top of the card. Brody King defeated MJF in decisive fashion. We break down why the finish felt intentional, how it repositioned King from a short term challenger to a more credible threat, and how the result cleanly sets up their AEW World Championship rematch at Grand Slam Australia. From there, we circle back to the broader context of the main event, including a pre bell crowd chant involving ICE that moved beyond wrestling coverage and into wider media discussion. We look at why that moment drew attention, how uncommon it is for an unscripted crowd reaction to be picked up outside the wrestling space, and why AEW choosing not to immediately move past it allowed the moment to register more clearly. The episode then shifts to WWE, starting with confirmation that John Cena will not be inducted into this year's Hall of Fame class. We discuss why the timing is notable, why WWE may be holding Cena's induction for a future year, and how Hall of Fame moments are increasingly planned with long term presentation in mind. We close with a backstage story tied to WrestleMania season involving Bron Breakker being considered to win the Royal Rumble at one point. Using recent reporting, we examine how injuries and creative changes altered those plans, what that shift suggests about WWE's priorities, and where Breakker currently fits as the company moves into its biggest stretch of the year. Episode 167 focuses on moments that were not scripted, including match finishes that altered perception, crowd reactions that drew outside attention, and behind the scenes decisions that influenced the direction of WrestleMania season.
Happy Thursday! The Blue Jackets have a little something going right now! Myles Garrett appears tired of the endless drama that the Browns organization has to offer. Ben Axelrod of Awful Announcing joins the show to discuss the Browns hiring of Todd Monken as Head Coach. Lebron might have played his last game in Cleveland, Ohio, and the postgame commentary got a little spicy. Emmanuel Acho may have just offered the worst sports opinion known to man following his comments about how Shedeur should feel about the Monken hire. The football world reacts to Bill Belichick's absence from the 2026 HOF Class. Radio voice of the Blue Jackets Bob McElligott joins the show. Caleb Downs and Carnell Tate both confidently say OSU would beat IU in a rematch. Matty Ice has a new idea for the Super Bowl. We get a call from Bobby in Upper Arlington. Dan Dakich joins the show. We're over a month in and President Trump is riding high. On Monday, he made threats to Hamas that could threaten is unprecedented standing with the American people. We discuss the first real test his #47 Presidency. Of course, he's still himself as he battered Senator Liz Warren on Monday over a bureau he's shutting down... and he joked that sharks munching in the ocean don't care than he's bringing back plastic straws so neither should dems. Hysterical. A crazy dude smashes up 25 cars in KCMO but that's just the start of the story. Guess what happened after they caught him? Also, Missouri lawmakers want to extend the biz agreement with Kansas to not compete against each other. This is and was always a terrible idea and its another sign the Show Me state is worried the Chiefs or Royals or both may be heading to Kansas. Patrick Mahomes is defended by the numbers, Dan Orlavsky may be leaving ESPN as it was really strange on air Monday and baseball is on our mind. The Royals are reporting to spring training and an incredible class of superstars will be in KC this week at the College Baseball Hall of Fame as the 2025 class.
