We would like to formally apologize to film maker Kevin Smith, John Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and The Great State of New Jersey in general for any controversial or silly things we may or may not have said during this episode or really any time you have interacted with us together or separately in person or otherwise. We thank you for your patients as we learn to podcast as well as the great Kevin Smith or any of the various people he talks at for 1 to 2 hours. Kevin we owe you a pork roll egg & cheese for being such a good sport. Love Mike & Conny Ps. Mike and Conny would like to apologize to all the New Jerseyans who call it "Taylor ham". We agree that Taylor is the superior brand, but chose to use the more generic title for the sandwich to be more inclusive. Thank youPss. Mike has never met actor Jason Mewes, does not know him personally and has never bought weed from him. He was speaking metaphorically about people LIKE the character Jay that he may or may not have met or bought weed from at some point in his life. Mike's dad for sure did stand in line with the guy at this quick check that used to be on Bay ave in Highlands in like 2002 or some shit. I think iit's like Circle K now.Snoogins

2 episodes left!! Its like the season just started and before you know it, its wrapping up! But lets not ignore how great this episode is going to be never the less, on this weeks episode we speak on “Finding Identity / Self Love” In a world where privacy, intimacy and sacred is violated, taken and watered down, to the point when you try and give it the importance it deserves you are called “old school” or “things don't work like that anymore” “its not q big deal” Let me tell you, it is a big deal; we lose a piece of ourselves every time we give in to sin, pleasure or “just going with it” Self Love and Finding Identity is important because this gives your life purpose, a drive with vision and a confidence with humility. Im guilty of falling for the cool, when I should have gone with what is right! Doing the popular decision when I should have done the not so popular because that's the one of Integrity!! Listen in, take the nuggets we share in regards to how to find identity; steps to take to love yourself and actions meeting reality. Any questions you may have for myself or cohost, please ask, reach out… (just ask, stop letting fear stop you) My email is Themaceffect19@gmail.com for all questions and inquiries. I promise you this will bless you. How do I know, because God's word is never void. My heart is ever so grateful, Thank you seems like I'm stealing from you, but its all I got… Thank you! #Themaceffect #maceffect #mac #mikecampos6 #god #love #hope #faith #joy #question #hurtpeople #hurt #healing #healpeople #healingmind #healingbody #heartofgold #healingspirit #morals #chorebelieves #growingpain #thewilltofight #keepgoing #youhavepurpose #awakening #understanding #building #fundamentals #ihaveaquestion #iwanttolearn #growing #growingpains #letsgetitright #nottoday #nottodaysatan #jesuschrist #inJesusname #lovealwayswins #peace #letsgetit #testing #learning #process #developing #maturing #fatherhood #motherhood #husband #wife #partnership #equals #tildeath #god #processing #process #guest #podcast #shorts #growth #development #growth #purpose #will #plans #goals #challange #opportunity #welcoming #bringit #letgoletgo #lakersin5
Is loving your family first a biblical idea—or a betrayal of Jesus' call to love your neighbor? In this thought-provoking episode, Mike Tolliver—Executive Director of the Center for Hebraic Thought—joins Dru Johnson to explore his developing PhD thesis on Storge (family love), the kinsman-redeemer, and what biblical justice actually looks like. Drawing on Torah, philosophy, and early Christian texts, Mike argues that Storge love is not only natural—it's essential to a functioning society, and that Israel's family-based justice system was designed to eliminate categories like “orphan” and “widow.” He explores why Paul uses the metaphor of adoption—and not kinsman-redeemer—for Gentile inclusion, and why the Ten Commandments are saturated with family ethics. From Sophie's Choice-style sermon illustrations to questions about circumcision, baptism, and ethnic election, this episode unpacks the implications of what it means to love your kin without devaluing the stranger. As Mike prepares for PhD work, his big question is: What does rightly ordered family love look like in Scripture—and what happens when it gets misordered? We are listener supported. In the Gospel of John, Jesus introduces himself using the powerful words "I am." These words are more than just a way for Jesus to identify himself; they invite us to explore and discover more about who God is. When Jesus keeps saying "I am," it's like he's asking us to dig deeper into understanding the heart of God. To reflect God's heart, we need to know His heart. And where can we see it most clearly? In the life of Jesus. He challenges each of us with a big question: "Who do you say that I am?" This question Jesus asks is like a starting point for a journey. It's not just about figuring out who Jesus is; it's an invitation for us to think about and express what we understand about God and his character in light of Jesus. What does Jesus show us about God? Think of Jesus' life as a painting that shows us what God is like. Jesus is inviting us into a relationship and a relationship leads to a revealing, then a discovery, and finally, a response.

How is God's love like a mother's love, but not like a mother's love?
We live in a culture where we will likely be taken advantage of, so it makes sense to “keep first” and experience the need to preserve. Unfortunately, the posture to preserve finds its root in the soil of distrust. However, the gospel invites us to live differently amid a broken world filled with broken trust. If our posture isn't self-centered, then it must be directed outward. The expression of God's love is others-oriented and self-sacrificing. A command to serve is understandable. But having your feet washed is unforgettable.
