Luis Planas, ministro de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación, asegura en 24 horas RNE que las ocho borrascas que han azotado de manera consecutiva a la Península estas últimas semanas han dejado muchas zonas inundadas y dificultad de acceso: "Han causado daños importantes en muchos cultivos. Estamos intentando responder a las demandas de los agricultores que se encuentran preocupados por esta situación". Asegura el ministro que los agricultores van a tener "el apoyo" del Gobierno de España. De momento no hay cifras de los daños ya que "es muy difícil hacer una evaluación exacta". Según datos provisionales del Ministerio, serían 22.500 hectáreas afectadas, de las cuales 14.500 se encontrarían en Andalucía, pero esa cantidad se podría incrementar hasta 35.000 o 40.000 hectáreas: "Cada cultivo es diferente", apunta Planas. Planas asegura que, además del acceso a ayudas procedentes de Bruselas, el Gobierno también está estudiando ayudas para dar respuesta a la situación para que puedan llegar a los agricultores y ganaderos afectados.
