As we say goodbye to June and usher in the holiday weekend, there's still quite a bit to dissect in the world of sports as I'll share my thoughts and opinions on all that's happening! On deck: (4:05) NBA free agency begins tonight at 6pm. You've already had some players opt-in to their current deals (i.e. Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook) opt-out (i.e. James Harden, Bradley Beal) and a John Wall buyout in Houston as he heads to LA to play for the Clippers. I'll discuss their situations, the big trade between the Hawks and Spurs for Dejounte Murray, the Knicks impending signing of Jalen Brunson and much more as we gear up for some wheeling and dealing in the Association over the next week or so. (22:10) My beloved Mets have hit a bit of a tough stretch, including an awful loss yesterday as they were swept again by the Astros. I'll explain why I'm not happy with their latest defeat and how the Braves are putting the pressure on the Mets in the NL East. Also, we found out the REAL reason why Freddie Freeman did not re-sign with Atlanta in the off-season. I'll recap the aftermath of the Mariners-Angels brawl and the suspensions handed down where 12 players and coaches were affected. I'll get into some series concluding (Guardians-Twins) and beginning (Padres-Dodgers) as we inch closer to the halfway point of the season. (38:26) Wimbledon has been mostly chalk for the most part. The big match of the week was Serena Williams losing to Harmony Tan in an epic match on Tuesday. Is this the beginning of the end for the all-time great? (44:10) Baker Mayfield has made a declaration to the Browns organization as he feels it's time to move on and that they haven't reconciled with him, in light of the acquisition of Deshaun Watson. Is he wrong? (49:19) There's a LIV Golf Event taking place in Portland, Oregon starting today. Is anyone watching? Does anyone care? The Avalanche won the Stanley Cup. In the final segment of the hour, we talk about Tony La Russa saying some players shouldn't run hard if they know they are out to preserve their legs.
Hour 1: Boomer & Gio open with Yankees/Astros and Mets/Marlins from over the weekend. Aaron Judge says he's ‘the best player on the team', unless he misspoke. Judge hit a walk-off HR in the 10th to beat the Astros yesterday. Did Aaron Judge say he's the ‘best player on the team' after the game? C-Lo is not sure. The rest of us are sure. Stanton, DJ & Judge had homers. The Mets took a series from the Marlins but lost yesterday. Max Scherzer is going to make another minor league start before he comes back to the Mets. The Against All Odds crew is back and Harry is back in Hawaii! The Yankees pull off a big comeback win against the Astros thanks to a walk-off home run from Aaron Judge, but Harry doesn't understand why Dusty Baker wouldn't walk him to get to Rizzo. The winner of this week's Prop Quiz is announced as Brother Bri once again just missed out on a Gold hat. The guys give out their weekend Betaches and also recap the Colorado Avalanche winning the Stanley Cup. They look at next season's early Stanley Cup odds as Parlay Kid likes the Florida Panthers to take the next step and Brother Bri goes with the New York Rangers, while Sal and Harry like the Colorado Avalanche to repeat. Next, the guys give out their Wimbledon picks and recap a huge brawl in the Mariners/Angels game as Parlay Kid likes it when teams actually hate each other. Finally, Harry is asked some tough questions; what he would want to drink out of the Stanley Cup, and who he would choose between his best friend or his wife?
