On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is riding solo as Jim Moore is out on this Monday because he called in sick after spending all weekend in Pullman for Moms Weekend. Are we buying this? Puck opens up the show taking about the Mariners 3-7 start and he discusses the comments from Julio who says the team should not be panicking and that they are in a good spot. Puck also discusses the Victor Robles catch and injury, plus, the injury situation with Jorge Polanco and the M's offense can't sustain these injuries and their style of play over 162 games. It's Masters week and Puck announces the Puck the Picker Majors Pool with the grand prize being a night stay and two rounds of golf at Gamble Sands. Puck also promotes the debut of the Groz with Gas Take 5 podcast which comes out later this afternoon on Pucksports.com. Puck then welcomes Matt “Stretch” Johnson and Steve Sandmeyer for episode three of The Sports Pit. The boys cover another Victor Robles, Sandy back golfing, Sandy being fired as a bat boy, 90's Mariners team, the Kingdome, Edgar's bat, Lou Pinella and who do we have for The Masters. Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!?” I miss the Kingdome. (1:00) Puck (33:38) The Sports Pit (1:40:13) “Hey, What the Puck!?”

On Friday's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy from the side of the road in desolate eastern Oregon as Jim is on his way to see his kids in Pullman for Dad's Weekend. Puck and Jim try to cram in as much as they can before Jim's internet will finally give out! Jim is bothered that Emerson Hancock was sent down to the minors for Luis F. Castillo and he's bothered that the Mariners PR department has come up with a bunch of unique factoids with both Castillo's pitching back to back. The Masters begins next week and Puck and Jim chat about the Puck the Picker Majors Pool that is Puck's season long golf pool that includes the grand prize for a night stay and two rounds of golf at Gamble Sands! Puck claims he can beat Jim in Horse and they have wagered $100 bet when Puck comes down to Bend for Memorial Day. No Friday show would be complete if it didn't include Friday Voicemails. On this weeks edition we hear from Spicolli from fast Times at Ridgemont High and his thoughts on the Mariners and Geno Smith from Las Vegas. After Jim's internet finally dies out, Puck announces a new podcast produced by PuckSports.com and it involves two Seattle sports radio legends, Groz and Gas. The new podcast, Groz with Gas Take 5 will be released every Monday at noon on all platforms including YouTube, Apple and Spotify and you can find their full catalog of shows at PuckSports.com. Puck also has his weekly interview with The Scout, an anonymous MLB scout with 30+ years in the game. They talk about the M's struggles offensively, Emerson Hancock, JP/Garver hitting issues, torpedo bats and is Julio truly a superstar? Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!?” What is Ja Morant doing? Puck and Groz open up the show talking about great memories working at KJR together, the state of the Seahawks, trading Geno Smith, Sam Darnold and will the Mariners ever be good? Bob Condotta, Seattle Times pays a visit to discuss a wild week of Seahawks football. What led to the Geno Smith trade? Why no counter offer from Geno's camp? Why was there a falling out with DK and the Seahawks and will John Schneider address the offensive line? Puck introduces, Friday Recap, where he took five minutes each from this weeks appearances from Ryan Divish, Michael-Shawn Dugar, Rob Staton and Mike Garafolo and put into one podcast to wrap up the biggest news of the week. Krustpunktā diskutē Latvijas kokrūpniecības federācijas izpilddirektors Kristaps Klauss, Latvijas Meža īpašnieku biedrības valdes priekšsēdētājs Arnis Muižnieks, Latvijas Dabas fonda politikas virziena vadītāja Baiba Baltvilka, Latvijas Ornitoloģijas biedrības valdes priekšsēdētājs, bioloģijas doktors Viesturs Ķerus, Zemkopības ministrijas Meža departamenta direktora vietnieks Normunds Strūve, Saeimas Tautsaimniecības, agrārās, vides un reģionālās politikas komisijas Vides, klimata un enerģētikas apakškomisijas deputāts Edmuds Cepurītis.

RUNDOWN Mitch shares a story about leading a successful campaign to reinstate Pat O'Day as the voice of Seafair on a local TV station. Pat O'Day, an expert storyteller, entertained listeners with stories ranging from music icons to quirky medical facts (athlete's foot cure). Updates on Gold Medal Olympians, Novak Djokovic and Scotty Scheffler, watching their emotional reactions. Mitch celebrates local sports achievements, notably Blake Snell's no-hitter and his and Tim Lincecum's unique baseball records. Hotshot expresses frustration with the rules preventing Piper from playing varsity sports immediately after her transfer, revealing plans to challenge these restrictions legally. Seahawks pregame; will Mitch's pent up excitement result in the proverbial pre-season flop? Mitch and Dave Grosby discuss the current state of Seattle sports, focusing on the Mariners' recent performance and the Seahawks' new era under Mike McDonald. Despite a strong starting rotation, Grosby expresses concerns about the Mariners' postseason prospects, suggesting organizational changes if the team fails to make the playoffs. Shifting to the Seahawks, Grosby shares his reluctance about preseason football but shows interest in the new coaching strategies and player adaptations. Mitch hosts the Seahawks no-table, featuring insights from ESPN's Brady Henderson and Hawk blogger Brian Nemhauser. Player spotlights include Jake Bobo's impressive catches and potential rise in the receiver ranks, and DK Metcalf's standout camp performance, suggesting a peak season ahead. Mitch discusses the Mariners' recent performance with Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas. The Mariners scored 57 runs in eight games, a significant increase from their previous performances, attributed partly to new additions like Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner. Joe praises the trade deadline moves, emphasizing their impact on reducing the team's strikeout rates and boosting offensive productivity. Brady highlights the Astros' recent slowdown, which has helped the Mariners keep pace in the division race despite occasional losses. The Other Stuff Segment dives deep into Olympic wins, and gender controversy.
Brock continues previewing Seahawks potential draft picks with a look at USC WR Tahj Washington. Then, we catch up with our old friend the Groz about everything from the Seahawks and Pete Carroll parting ways, to all of the turnover at WSU and UW over the last year to the M's disappointing start to the season.

Salk isn't sure what to believe about Corbin Smith's piece in SportsIllustrated regarding Russell Wilson & who forced the exit of Brian Schottenheimer because it only has one source. Seattle Sports legend Dave "The Groz" Grosby joins Salk to address his tweets calling for a change w/ the Mariners - specifically Scott Servais. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

0:27 - I moved back to Houston. Here's why. (And don't worry, this will remain a Seattle/Houston podcast) 6:47 - I'm glad that Brian Flores is suing the NFL. But it has nothing to do with the alleged discrimination, and everything to do with a problem across sports. 14:52 - It's practically impossible to unite all Seahawks fans, but I've got an argument based on old school football AND science (physics to be exact) that all fans should be able to agree on. 22:40 - The Texans won't be winning an optics battle anytime soon. But can we lighten up just a little bit before assuming every decision will turn into a disaster? 29:31 - My Lord and Savior Tom Brady (did I stutter?) retired. I'll tell you what aspect of his career impressed me the most. 36:31 - I caught up with my good friend - and Seattle radio legend - David Grosby, aka "The Groz". You can ask questions to the show too. Email GallantSays@Gmail.com, or leave a voicemail at 781-452-4322.
