Jürgen von Hagen joins Tim Bayly to discuss fruitfulness, natalism, and fertility demographics. From Malthus to Erlich to many contemporaries—for over two centuries—the prophets of doom have pleaded with mankind to abandon fruitfulness to survive. Modern man—and the Christian church—has only been too willing to obey those false prophets in direct contradiction to God's commands in the creation mandates. Jürgen and Tim discuss the conscious choice Christians should make to be counter-cultural or, in other words, obedient to God regarding fruitfulness. Are we willing to submit the fruitfulness of our marriage beds to God as an act of holiness?"God blessed them; and God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth'" (Gen. 1:28).Some resources mentioned in the podcast:Malthus, An Essay on the Principle of PopulationErlich, The Population BombBricker & Ibbitson, Empty Planet: The Shock of Global Population DeclineIsmail, The Age of Decay: How Aging and Shrinking Populations Could Usher in the Decline of CivilizationMurray, Principles of ConductPakaluk, Hannah's Children: The Women Quietly Defying the Birth Dearth ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Leifer was the sisters' former high school principal, and when whispers of their allegations came to light in 2008, she fled from her home in Melbourne to Israel before any formal complaint could be made. The Legal Walls Are Closing In On Benjamin Netanyahu w/ Max Blumenthal From the Dimitri Lascaris podcast Watch it on YouTube On November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court finally issued warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and for Yoav Gallant, the former Israeli Defence Minister whom Netanyahu recently fired. On the same day, Israeli prosecutors indicted an aide to Netanyahu, Eli Feldstein, on a "grave" charge of harming state security, as part of the security documents scandal that has roiled Netanyahu's office in recent weeks. Max Blumenthal, editor-in-chief of The Grayzone, joined Dimitri Lascaris to discuss these developments. Blumenthal and Lascaris also discussed a new scandal engulfing the Israeli military. This week, in south Lebanon, Zeev Erlich, an "amateur Israeli historian" who lives illegally in the occupied West Bank, was killed by Hezbollah fighters while Erlich was accompanied by the chief of staff of Israel's 'elite' Golani Brigade. The Israeli military claims that Erlich did not have proper authorization to enter south Lebanon, but in fact, Erlich appears to have entered the area on multiple occasions in order to construct a fake narrative that south Lebanon historically belongs to Israel. Finally, Blumenthal and Lascaris discussed the withdrawal of Matt Gaetz as Trump's nominee for the position of U.S. Attorney General.

On this episode of Rehash, we're speaking with Jonah Erlich about what a multisignature wallet is, how it's different from MPC (multiparty computation), best security practices for managing a multisig, and how to be a good multisig signer.Jonah experienced many of the common challenges multisig signers face when he was operating as a core team member of ConstitutionDAO back in late 2022, which is what inspired him to build Den, a tool that helps teams operate more quickly, safely, and effectively onchain through things like human readable descriptions, notifications, recurring transactions, and much more which Jonah shares more about in this episode. This month's episode gives a nod to one of the figures in our logo: the construction worker. Our guest, Mark Erlich has worked in the construction industry as a carpenter and union leader for a half century. In this episode, he shares his insights on the industry's past, present, and future, paying particular attention to the politics and material conditions surrounding construction work. In response to those who argue that today's labor shortages in the construction industry are the result of societal preferences, Erlich points to the decades-long degradation of construction work, including declining pay and protections. Fix those and you'll solve the labor problem.

In this episode, we're joined by Jason Erlich, an employment lawyer out in California, and we talk about a book we both read called “Influence is Your Superpower.” The author, Zoe Chance, put a lot of her research into this book about influence and the psychology of influence. As trial lawyers, we've got to deal with jurors, and we've got clients and influence adjusters. And so, this was a great book for me. Most people feel very uncomfortable trying to influence others. Reading the book and her ideas and approach, you will find that this is all about brain science. Basically, it gives us an understanding of how our brains work and how we can apply some of our thoughts, as trial lawyers, in talking to jurors, opposing counsel, mediators, or whoever else. It's also interesting how this could be applied in your personal life. It's always coming from a frame of good influence. She talks a lot about her class and what she has her class do, including a couple of experiments that they do. So it's a very fun, light read where you will also find some interesting and applicable concepts. In this episode, you will hear: The gator brain vs the judge brain How to deal with a juror who disagrees with you How to deal with a juror who is bad for you The importance of focus groups in detecting a liar How to deal with disagreement in focus groups How we say things and ask people Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? In 1968 biologist Paul Ehrlich wrote "The Population Bomb" wherein he made wildly incorrect predictions about our future. Yet, at age 90, he's still considered "an expert!" We need to reexamine our dependence upon "experts"...and how this too often distracts us from thinking and living Truth.
A review of technological change in the past 20 years, applications and narratives, sweet birthday wishes. We have it all in this week's episode of the Digital Government Podcast, where we head to distinguished technology experts of e-Governance Academy (eGA) for another expert chat dedicated to eGA's 20 years anniversary.Programme Director Heiko Vainsalu meets Mark Erlich, Senior Expert on eID. From popularizing tech talk in government and society, to novelties and black boxes to unpack, the two experts take us through two decades of digital transformation. To see what's changed in digital development worldwide and, always clearly put, what's not. Coming up next?20 years of technological change and transformationFor how surprising it may seem to the least aware, technologists as well have a life beyond development projects and digital solutions. “20 years ago I was completing my university studies, I wasn't that aware of e-governance. To me, it meant public services for taxes and banking, simply because those were my two point of contacts with the topic back then,” Erlich admits. And while we heard from eGA cyber and e-democracy experts in previous episodes what these two decades of change entailed, what about the technology domain?“The core is pretty much the same as 20 years ago. What happened is a crucial shift from niche to popularity. From niche products used just in some specific business areas, to technology getting out to the public. It was something only true techies knew about, people in general didn't know about cryptography or anything else like that,” Erlich says. “Moving away from the core, a lot has happened in terms of technological application. We see many new technical solutions around us that are part of our daily life. All kinds of smart gadgets, from smartphones to household appliances. That has evolved indeed, and we are benefitting from such development not just from the development side, but also simply as common people.”

Preparing and working with the client is so critical to a good direct exam. Success starts with our clients going in with a mindset that the jury consists of smart people who can smell good versus bad. Therefore, they just have to set their fears aside and trust the process. We also have to ask enough questions to get the information we need while making them feel at ease and comfortable. The challenge is to keep the direct exam conversational and simple. In today's episode, we're joined by Jason Erlich, an employment attorney who exclusively represents workers who have been treated wrongfully. Jason handles cases related to workplace disputes, such as wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, sexual harassment, and class action lawsuits. In this episode, you will hear: The three things that make a successful direct client exam Eliciting an emotional response from a client Preparing direct exam questions Things to prioritize for the direct exam Making last-minute changes to your questions based on the opening statement and witness testimony Visual aids he used in the courtroom Free-flow questioning vs. sticking to a script Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? "You can do as much about the legacy of the Holocaust - and what I took from my depressed mother who lost all her family in the Holocaust - there is only so much I could do in personal analysis and there was another bit that I could do only in a strange kind of dialogue in the presence of Germans doing their own work. It is: ‘do your own internal work in the presence of an other who is doing his/her internal work'." Episode Description: We begin by learning about Mira's involvement in the origin of Partners in Confronting Collective Atrocities (PCCA) 30 years ago. She shares with us the profound internal changes that occurred in both the Israeli and German analysts who came together and 'did their own work in the presence of the other'. She describes her ongoing consultative work with members of the Ukraine Psychoanalytic Society as they face terrible tragedies and uncertainties regarding their future. She advises humble respect for their need for psychological armor before recommending their encountering colleagues who are identified with the current aggressor. We close with her describing her pride in being Israeli and how it lives in her devotion to healing. Investors often say that they evaluate a company's potential based on business fundamentals, such as gross margin, retail velocity and brand awareness. As much as anything, however, personal alignment with entrepreneurs in terms of character, vision and demeanor is core to the investment philosophy of Manna Tree Partners. A private equity firm whose stated mission is “to invest in the future of human health,” Manna Tree holds stakes in 11 companies, several of which were represented at its inaugural Global Health Forum in March, which focused on the future of longevity through food and nutrition. During the conference, we sat down with Manna Tree's three co-founders and three portfolio company entrepreneurs to examine the origins and development of their relationships. The conversations revealed how their personal friendship established a baseline for trust and helped create positive outcomes for each of the companies. The conversations paired Manna Tree CEO Ellie Rubenstein with Dana Erlich, the founder and CEO of leading grass-fed beef company Verde Farms; Manna Tree CIO Ross Iverson with Daina Trout, the co-founder and chief mission officer of gut-health-centric beverage brand Health-Ade; and the firm's president Brent Drever with Viraj Puri, the co-founder and CEO of indoor greenhouse pioneer Gotham Greens. Show notes: 2:27: Ellie Rubenstein, CEO, Manna Tree Partners and Dana Erlich, Founder/CEO, Verde Farms – Rubenstein discussed the focus of Manna Tree's Global Health Forum and why it was hosted in Vail, Colorado, Erlich spoke about the origins of Verde Farms and his personal connection to grass-fed beef and both spoke about how an initial meeting made it apparent that Manna Tree was the right partner for the company, which had previously spurned outside investment. They also discussed how the private equity firm helped Verde establish a dedicated board of directors and management team and how Rubenstein evaluated Verde as a category leader that could help deliver on Manna Tree's overarching mission. 27:28: Daina Trout, Co-Founder/Chief Mission Officer, Health-Ade and Ross Iverson, CIO, Manna Tree Partners – After noting that the interview marked Trout's third appearance on Taste Radio and Iverson's second (yet, first IRL), the Health-Ade co-founder spoke about the shift in her day-to-day role, while Manna Tree's CIO explained why he's happier with the company's expanded vision following the firm's investment in August 2021. Trout explained how she and Health-Ade's leadership team identified Manna Tree as a potential investor and why she described the relationship as “a special connection,” why Trout is confident that Manna Tree will help maintain the integrity and quality of Health-Ade products and how Iverson evaluates the growing opportunities for better-for-you sparkling beverages and kombucha. 53:09: Brent Drever, President, Manna Tree Partners and Viraj Puri, Co-Founder/CEO, Gotham Greens – Drever spoke about the speakers and panels at Manna Tree's Global Health Forum before Puri expounded upon Gotham Greens' recent announcement that the company would be doubling its indoor greenhouse capacity. The investor then discussed Manna Tree's investment in Gotham Greens, beginning with the firm's evaluation of the indoor greenhouse industry and why he was impressed by the company's brand, unit economics and vision for expansion. They also shared how they built a relationship during the first four months of the pandemic beginning with a face-to-face meeting in Chicago that was instrumental in establishing a foundation for their relationship. Puri explained why he was impressed by Manna Tree's “rigorous” due diligence process and global network, how Drever assessed Gotham Greens' potential for international expansion, how both consider technology and sustainability as part of the company's growth strategy, and the flexibility of its exit strategy.
