This gave her a good understanding of the challenges that scientists face when she moved over to Potter Clarkson, an IP law firm.In her work as a patent attorney she helps universities, technology transfer departments and SMEs protect their inventions, with a focus on synthetic biology.Holland also co-founded the Women in Synthetic Biology Network, a group that aims to support gender diversity and support women working in the field of synthetic biology.CellCentric presents early clinical data at ASH CellCentric, a clinical stage biotechnology company pioneering small molecule inhibition of p300/CBP to treat cancer, announced clinical data for the first time at the 64th American Society of Haematology (ASH) annual meeting in New Orleans. To date, 26 patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) have been treated with inobrodib as monotherapy, including seven most recently at the recommended phase 2 dose and dose schedule (RP2D). Treatment has been generally well-tolerated with the majority of on-target toxicities being mild or moderate in severity. Among the patients treated at the RP2D, six out of seven patients had reduction or stabilization of serum free light chains. One patient saw an unconfirmed complete response (CR), which went on to become a durable confirmed very good partial response (VGPR); a second patient demonstrated a confirmed partial response (PR); and a third currently has an unconfirmed PR (by IMWG response criteria).  These three patients remain on treatment after more than eight months.

Focus, c'est le format qui donne la parole à ceux qui font le cinéma.  Il va permettre à ces professionnels du milieu de l'audiovisuel de venir nous parler de leur métier, de leur manière d'appréhender un projet, d'anecdotes personnelles. de leur rapport au cinéma et de casser certains préconçus sur leur profession, le tout dans une discussion curieuse et bienveillante.  Après avoir déjà accueilli Guillaume et Kruti, on tend notre micro à David Scherer, maquilleur SFX et créateur d'effets spéciaux, légende française dans le milieu du latex, de la protèse et du faux-sang qui tâche. Vous avez notamment déjà pu apercevoir ses effets dans le Love de Gaspar Noé, Laissez Bronzer les Cadavresde Hélène Cattet et Bruno Forzani et il sera prochainement crédité à l'adaptation cinéma du Visiteur du Futur et la série historique Les Combattantes pour TF1.  C'est étrangement la sociologie qui a amené David à exercer dans ce métier trop peu reconnu en France. Treatment for post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) of the ankle remains challenging. Distraction arthroplasty (DA) is an alternative for patients who are averse to or poor candidates for arthrodesis or joint replacement. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of microfracture (MFX) and concentrated bone marrow aspirate (CBMA) on the outcome of patients undergoing DA for end-stage PTOA of the ankle joint. The current study showed no benefit from MFX when combined with DA in the treatment of PTOA. CBMA may have helped mitigate the adverse effect of MFX but conferred no benefit when used with DA alone. DA remains a useful alternative to ankle arthrodesis and arthroplasty in patients with PTOA. However, MFX and biologic augmentation using CBMA appeared to have no additional benefit.   To view the article click here.

As we kick off our Merry F@!king Xmas with the bros this month with holiday themed movies we pick a movie that doesn’t get as much recognition as a Christmas movie and honestly I have no clue as to why.This week leading off our MFX month we go with the 1987 film Lethal Weapon starring Mel Gibson, and Danny Glover. Perhaps one of the best buddy cop movies around. Danny Glover stars as Det. Roger Murtaugh who after finding out the daughter of an old friend is murdered he gets teamed up with fresh transfer and newly assigned partner Det. Martin Riggs who everyone thinks has a death wish. As they dig deeper in their investigation it leads them down a rabbit hole filled with guns, explosions and heroin in Los Angeles.This is such a great movie on so many levels, from cinematography, acting and script it’s fantastic from start to finish. Directed by Richard Donner (the whole Lethal Weapon franchise, Superman, The goonies) and written by Shane Black (The Last Boy Scout, The Nice Guys) the movie has no doubt the sense of Hollywood flare to it but it also has the gritty authentic elements of real life thrown in for good measure. Furthermore how can you not forget its status of being solidified in cinema history with a release during one of the best summers at the box office in the glorious year of 1987.Kick back with a beer, a three stooges marathon, and possibly a Beretta under the ole Christmas tree and listen to this one.
